Stopped here for a coffee that morphed into 2 with a slice of cake each as we were busy catching up and people watching. Situated in the main square its a perfect place to meet up with friends. Nice staff and delightful coffee.

Ordered two panini's and two drinks. Drinks arrived no problem. After 20 minutes I went to counter and enquired about the panini's. Sorry they got burned, would you like a refund!! How long, the question has to be, do you leave customers waiting? Didn't ask about remaking them, the place was practically empty so hardly rushed off their feet. We went to the cafe just up from them in the market, quick service and much better value by half. Disgraceful leaving us just sitting there.

I have had such a lovely day hanging out at R&R today. I had to do some business meetings online whilst I waited for my daughter. I had a wonderful bowl of porridge for breakfast with beautiful blueberries and banana. And a delicious salad for lunch with falafel and homous. Had a lovely table and the cafe was warm and welcoming. There is Wi-Fi, plenty of plugs and it’s fairly quite so you can manage a Teams call. So much better than the faceless chain cafe’s which surround it! I will definitely be back!

We were in Abingdon for a school performance and wanted to take our daughter for a treat after. Choose this place to support local rather than chain and left wishing we had not. Coffee was good, cakes nice but service was very unwelcoming and curt. Other children were asked to keep the noise down, shame as they were just excited.

We found this place recommended on trip advisor and thought we’d try it. The breakfast we ordered was good value and it was nice to get a mug of tea rather than a little cup. Our only criticism would be the sausages…. Whilst tasty, the skin of the sausages was difficult to bite through. Service was quick, the staff were efficient, friendly and polite. Well worth a visit

We went with our son last Saturday and the queue showed how popular is it is. We were served within 5 minutes and it was full. The bacon roll I had was generous in its content (3 rashers) and my wife had her usual of the smashed avocado on sough dough bread with an extra piece of bacon. The coffee is excellent and my son loved his panini and iced tea. Support local businesses over the corporates on the same square!

There have been a couple of comments from regulars , that R&R isn’t the same as it was ; things have slipped .. ( not my comment btw).. For me ... with a large number of coffee shops in Abingdon - R&R is still the number one - the best place to go ... There have been a number of staff changes ( that’s bound to happen ) ; let new staff settle in ; and The coffee is always good ; as well as the food ( bacon and sausage baps , can’t be beaten ) ; staff are friendly and efficient - the atmosphere still good So ... keep on doing , what you do well Thanks

I stopped off in Abingdon for breakfast after an early start to drive down to Devon. R&R has a very nice ambiance with tasteful interior decor and a nice relaxing layout. I went for the 'R&R Breakfast' (2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 Bacon, baked beans and 2 slices of toast) which was very satisfying. I washed it down with a very nice latte coffee. Service was friendly and efficient and prices were not unreasonable with my breakfast was £8.50 and my Latte was £2.90 Location is nice too in the old market square just a short walk from Abbey Gardens which is where I parked the car (2 hours free parking). I can recommend a visit to R&R.

Returned here after sometime, has it changed hands? I had a malty milkshake, which I had before, and it was awful as was the strawberry one. It was full of ice with an awful syrup around the inside of the glass. The smoothies are not made with fresh fruit but syrup. Such a shame. The coffee was good though. My partner and I have been here several times, over the past few years, as this cafe was once a pleasant place to be. Service has always been a little slow and disorganised, but the good food made up for that. The food and drinks have since decreased in quality and value for money, but the interior is still very nice and so we have been popping in, in the hope that the food had returned to the quality we first experienced. Sadly, it hasn't. We have had several disappointing and inconsistent lunches. One week a strawberry milkshake was lovely and very nicely presented with thick ice cream and syrup on the inside of the glass. The next week it was a lazy Nesquick style milk with a slight strawberry flavour. But was the same price.

It's lovely here, the staff are helpful and friendly and there is always a nice atmosphere. The luxury hot chocolate is delicious, as is the food - particularly the baked potatoes! The service is very quick, and only on one previous visit has there been a small issue with our order being mixed up - but this was swiftly resolved and we were also given a free hot drink each as an apology, which went above and beyond as it really wasn't a problem to us especially given how busy they were! R&R; has always been good with food allergies and intolerances, but they now win a special prize in my book. First, they have started offering dark chocolate rice cakes (see photo), which are the only conventional treat someone who is gluten, dairy, AND nightshade intolerant and allergic to nuts can have! Most of the beautiful gluten-free baked goods you find have potato starch (nightshade) or butter (dairy) or nuts, or all three. And because they are in a sealed packet, there is no worry about sliced almonds straying over from croissants, which is an ever-present danger in places like Costa. Second, just overheard, a staff member coming over specially to ask someone who'd ordered gluten-free toast if they would also like their sausages gf as well. Top marks to R&R; for thoughtfulness and also for their support of community events.

The staff are always very polite and friendly, tables are cleared and cleaned efficiently and there is room to sit outside if the weather is hot or if you have the dog. Me and my mum went here for a bit of a pit stop while we had a walk around Abingdon. We had tea, hot chocolate and a very large piece of cake. The only place to sit when we got there were the high chairs - whilst these look nice they were a bit uncomfortable to sit at and, if you're short and struggle with your flexibility, then they can be quite difficult to sit at. The cake was lovely but really too much for one person, we had one slice between two and still didn't manage to eat it all! I had a small hot chocolate and that was about right. It was very busy in there which shows just how popular it is and the decor is nice.

Every so often we pop into R&R; for a cuppa before doing our shopping. The staff are always pleasant; the tea is good and the mugs large! There are plenty of cakes and "sticky things" available; many of them gluten free - which is an important plus for many people.

Had a double espresso for less than two pounds and it was really tasty. Pretty good quality for a small town like Abingdon.

I'd probably be a regular in there, working away on my laptop, but I simply can't because I have my dog with me and am not prepared to leave him alone at home. I asked why dogs were not allowed, and the answers were more than unsatisfying ("because then everyone would come in here with their dogs, and people don't like that" - Bullsh....t) At Java and at Rosie's dogs are allowed, and one hasn't heard any complaints. At least there's alternatives now ;) But I must admit that everything else at R&R; seems brilliant, from the friendly staff to the choices of drink and food, as well as the comfort inside. It's nice and bright, a friendly atmosphere. Pitty that they seem to have an attitude towards dogs. I'm sure a change in policy would be possible with a more open mind, and issues could be handled in a professional manner. Lots more visitors would come, I'm sure.

We chose a selection of tapas, two for each person : they were abundant and very good.... The shrimps, calamari and vegetable were tasty and cooked with originality

Carpenters have now sadly closed I think due to retirement but the new tenants Blake’s Kitchen are well worth a visit and serve decent food

We called in here as I’d never been and thought we’d try it out. We ordered two cheese scones with butter and two coffees and sat in the garden. Our very small scones arrived before the coffees, We thought as we buttered our not very cheesy cheese scones that the butter had a strange texture, the coffees were very small and not that hot. As we sat chattering I noticed on the butter wrapper, ‘use by 6/6/23’ The date of our visit being Monday 19th June!! My friend caught the attention of the waitress and told her we’d just eaten two weeks out of date butter, she just said ‘Oh sorry, I’ll tell the kitchen’ We sat for another 15 minutes half expecting maybe a further apology from the kitchen but nobody came near us, so we left having spent £12.30 on two small un-cheesy scones, stale butter and two small warm coffees. Obviously there won’t be a return visit.
