We attended the George for Sunday dinner like we do most months, when we arrived we were sat down and straight away drink orders and food order were taken ‘perfect’ 45 minutes later we had no food on the table after 2 other tables who had ordered after us were nearly finished we had a young child with us also who was getting hungry. The waitress came over and asked if we wanted another drink and I asked where the food was - she then went of to stand with 4 other staff members still no food - 1 hour later the food finally arrived 3 Sunday dinners all of which were cold and dry! I asked for the manager who came over to the table and refused to feel how cold the food was and was very rude and abrupt. I said I wouldn’t be paying for the meal after 1 hour of waiting and then the food coming cold- his reply was, Well if you want to eat the food eat it and leave! Don’t Pay. We had no apology or explanation for the reason this food had come late and cold. Unfortunately we will not be going back to the George again which is very disappointing as this is somewhere we have usually enjoyed having family meals for many years.

Visited with a Groupon voucher entitling us to a bottle of house wine and a two course bistro meal. The staff were very attentive and friendly even suggesting what they would recommend from the menu. We took their advice and had a wonderful meal. The house wine was extremely good . We thoroughly enjoyed both courses and were too full to consider a dessert. We would highly recommend this place and hope to return soon.

For Groupon customers only: We bought two Groupon vouchers for "Any Pizza or Pasta - Wednesday 4-9, Thursday 12-9" for one person, and visited yesterday with a friend. Last time we bought them, there were no pizzas available, but we had the seafood pasta and that was delicious. This time, pizzas were available, but we were told that Groupon customers could only order pasta from a limited cheaper lunchtime menu (picture of menu uploaded). Basically diners must mention that they are Groupon customers before ordering food at George's Bistro, and they then receive the lunchtime menu instead of the one that other evening diners receive. It felt like George's Bistro is happy to advertise on Groupon but, in reality, treats Groupon customers, at least with this deal, as 2nd-class diners. We therefore asked to speak with the manager. I explained patiently to the manager that: (1) the Groupon deal stated ANY Pizza or Pasta... and this was not being honoured. (2) the lunchtime menu is not shown on the restaurant's website, so Groupon customers would not be aware of their purchase being a limited menu only. To this, the manager replied that he had catered for over 400 Groupon customers who had accepted the lunchtime menu. This did not make me feel better about the Bistro. (3) the Groupon highlights state, "Amazing pizza and pasta offer with plenty of dishes to choose from". On the lunchtime menu, there are only 3 "pasta" options, only one of which is suitable for a vegetarian: (a) Chicken parmesan £8 (b) Braised beef ragu £8.95 (c) Parmesan and nutmeg gnocchi £7 That's NOT "plenty of dishes" and, as the Groupon deal is £6 per pasta, it is not an amazing deal. (4) the times quoted on Groupon (Wednesday 4-9, Thursday 12-9) did NOT indicate lunchtimes - Our table reservation was happily taken for 18:30, but we were still only permitted to order from the lunchtime menu. Unfortunately, though he apologised, the manager would not accept the issue, blaming it on Groupon. For completeness, rather than cancelling the Groupon and finding another restaurant, we decided to order pizza, and that was well-presented and tasted nice. When we ordered the "Any Pizza or Pasta", we also ordered an "Afternoon tea" Groupon. We are now hoping that this will not be down-sized because it's a purchase through Groupon, and we will leave another (hopefully positive) review once redeemed.

Came as part of a large group for our work's Christmas night out in the mead hall. It was fantastic value at £25 for a 3-course meal with a live singer. The food came out promptly and it was all well presented, good portions and delicious. Drinks were very reasonably priced too so it wasn't an expensive night at all. The staff were all great and really attentive. My only possible criticisms are that the food could have done with being served earlier than 8pm as we were all hungry by then and a larger dance floor area was needed once everyone had eaten.

The Tapas menu was superb! Very attentive staff, constantly checking if everything was ok, food etc, if needed more drinks. Stayed to early evening when the DJ arrived. Great music, played a bit of everything; all music that you could bob your head to. The layout of the bar is appealing, little hideaway places and no table/corner looks the same; it works. You can walk into this bar if you’re 18 or 80 and feel comfortable. It’s a yes from me.

I purchased a voucher for an afternoon tea and on booking realised it said per person. So I called and said can I come with someone as we don't want to eat much as going to a spa day straight after, we were told yes. On arrival the entire pub, bar area and restaurant smelt very strongly of toilets. The manager was very firm in that we could not have a afternoon tea for one person, so why sell the voucher? He made me purchase another but we just wanted a nibble as we were using a gym, swim, sauna & steam room after. The afternoon tea arrived and all the cakes were (individual & tiny sythetic cake) for a single person. The sandwhiches were cheap, the pork pie was lush (good supplier) but the sausage roll with old soggy pastry. It was a low quality afternoon tea, which ended up been expensive.

Booked a table for 4 on a Saturday evening. It was fairly busy and one large group eating but service was good. There was a slight delay for our starters but we were informed about this, it was worth the wait! All the food was fresh and tasty. We had a range of meals including burgers, fish and chicken. We also enjoyed their delicious desserts. All in all it was a reasonable priced meal and the place had a lovely atmosphere. We would recommend and are visiting again next month!

We booked George’s on a whim when we were in the area visiting family. Boy are we pleased we did! We ate there (for the first time) on the Wednesday night. Steak night. It was really busy but such a fantastic atmosphere with equally brilliant service. We decided not to go for the steak offer as my wife fancied the chicken Wellington. We had the asparagus and scallops to start. Both fantastic. I then had a steak whilst my wife enjoyed her chicken. All washed down by well made cocktails. It’s rare for us to have a pud but we loved the take on a Jaffa cake. When we finished eating, we were so happy we went to the wine bar attached to enjoy the rest of our evening. Second experience was just as good. We had booked a local Italian but had to walk out after the coke was flat and service atrocious, The George welcomed us back with open arms, remembered our seat, drinks and all came and had a chat with us making it all the more personal. Ate from Tapas menu this time and it was outstanding. We will certainly be back next time we’re in the area and have recommended to all our local family.

The setting and menu of this place looked amazing so we went as a group of six for a long over due get together. Completely disappointing the Sunday dinner was super salty (and I like salt) the veg was like baby food no texture and all beige. As for the beef just wow I’ve never eaten something so tough. At the end of the meal we were asked what we thought (the plates told them not great) the response was I ate it earlier it was fine. Then presented a bill of £200 no discount, offer of something else or anything. Eventually they remove £20 absolutely ridiculous given how poor the meal was! We won’t be back

Had our second visit for Sunday lunch since the easing of lockdown this weekend with visiting friends from Cambridge. I have to say that once again the Sunday roasts were excellent from the beautiful beef and lamb through to the lovely selection of vegetables available, we couldn’t fault a thing. The only thing I would comment on is that on this occasion it seemed very quiet - I hope the change to a more upmarket expensive menu isn’t having an effect on bookings and that this was just a one off. We did notice that the unpublished option to have just a one course roast dinner had gone up again in price since our last visit in April and is now definitely top end for Sunday lunch. I can’t help thinking that they may be pricing themselves out now that the novelty of eating out again has worn off a little, more establishments are open again and there is more choice / availability on offer. I do hope I’m wrong however as in our opinion the George Sunday roasts are definitely up there amongst the best in the area at the moment but perhaps they may be becoming a little too expensive compared to elsewhere. Our visit was a lovely end to a lovely weekend with good friends and as such we have no complaints but for us George’s Bistro is definitely becoming a special occasion destination and not somewhere we would probably consider for a spur of the moment meal out.

Visited George’s Bistro for Sunday lunch with my wife and daughter on April 18th. Maybe it was just us but the menu was quite confusing with regards to pricing and the starters and sweets were all a little too pretentious for Sunday lunch in Cleckheaton. There was also no smaller child option offered which was a little disappointing. We opted to go straight for a roast dinner which although expensive was excellent, everything was piping hot and there was plenty of it, we did also order a couple of sweets to share which were OK but again not what you would expect for Sunday lunch. I also wasn’t too impressed with the selection of beers on offer. We’ve eaten at George’s before both in the evening and for Sunday lunch and always enjoyed the experience but we found things very different on this most recent visit. The menu definitely appears to be trying to be more upmarket, particularly in the evenings and is definitely considerably more expensive, £30 for a steak plus whatever for your sides is too much for Cleckheaton I would suggest. I think people will visit for special occasions but perhaps not as often when just going out for dinner which is what we have done in the past. All in all we enjoyed our visit to George’s, the main courses were lovely and despite being outside the atmosphere was good but we probably won’t rush back due to the new menu and the increased prices. We would expect to see this in London or perhaps Leeds but not Cleckheaton. I feel they may be in danger of going a little too far with the new menus and may be in danger of losing customers which would be a shame as it has the potential to be a great place to go once again if they get the balance right.

After seeing posts from a friend, we booked Sunday lunch. The outdoor space is well thought through, it’s an outdoor but indoor feel with patio heaters and proper furniture, not benches.Service spot on, not rushed. Sunday lunch included a good potion of meat, mash and yorkshire with a sides selection of roast potatoes, roasted veg, creamed leeks and mashed swede. Delicious. The cocktail selection was impressive but as we had the car, they’ll have to wait for another day and a taxi. Lunch is £18 so higher than other places we go but we felt it was a good price, lots of food, extra gravy boat and lots of side dishes.Covid safety views - what we saw. Track and trace sign in plus written sigh in, masks when standing and lots of sanitiser. Tables socially distanced with screens too. Staff all had masks on and kept their distance. Very safe for us.

The moment I stepped in I knew this was going to be awful. They didn’t seem to know what they were doing ? Test and trace or writing in a book? Went last night for sons 20th birthday. Like the reviewer before wanting to support local business etc but really have they not watched Gordon Ramsay’s nightmares ???? The girl who served us didn’t seem to know the drinks. Estrella was on the menu but we had to have Peroni as Estrella wasn’t available. We must have waited over an hour for the starter how difficult is bread and olives to serve up? My daughter is vegan and there wasn’t much choice for her. The menu is trying to be too fancy, oysters in cleckheaton - really! My daughter ordered a martini with olive some lemon cocktail arrived don’t even know what it was so we ordered a bottle of wine. After waiting for over an hour we were then told that the till had gone down and they had to take our order again.......When the food did eventually come it was ok my daughters vegan cauliflower starter wasn’t cauliflower it was broccoli .....we received our mains or so we thought then my son whose birthday it was didn’t receive his ????somehow after taking our orders several times he was missed off.A chappie did appear and offers drink or a dessert on the house but how could we check that we had that I wasn’t presented with an itemised bill. Total chaos! I can’t even be bothered writing the rest of the experience we just will not go again. My first and last time at this establishment. It’s a real shame the food wasn’t bad just pricey but customer service was terrible!

We've been regulars at George's since it opened and it's been a bit of a roller coster - probably more good than bad.I know they're having to adapt and I'm more than willing to give them some slack. However, I have to say today's visit was just disappointing. The biggest issue are the staff, although they're friendly enough, they are clearly over stretched and it feels like you are constantly chasing for some service. We visited on the 2nd day after reopening and they had run out of Sauvignon Blanc, fair enough you think its hard to second guess what will happen after a couple of days. But today at 5pm, they'd run out again - if nothing else it's commercial suicide- not having £10 wine to sell for £25. Worse, the waitress then tried to sell vastly inferior wine and clearly had no idea why it wasn't a suitable alternative.I have to drink wine because they've swapped all the good beers they had (Shipyard and Esterlla) for some garbage London beer and Corona. Unless you want some no name larger they've branded up of their own. There's just nothing decent unless you buy it by the bottle and pay £8/pint.The food menu is pretty limited and is probably a bit fancy for many. I like bit of a treat and I'm happy to pay for a good experience. Sadly, although the food was top notch, the whole experience was below par and at £200 for 4 people was expensive for Cleckheaton. It's hard to recommend. Get some decent beers, stock up on quality wine and serve the people- the food will do the rest.

First visit to this bistro on 21/04/2021, won’t be returning. Table booked for early afternoon, approx. half of the tables were occupied when we arrived. Ordered food from very limited menu at approx 2.20pm, told that one dish would take 30 minutes to prepare. Food finally arrived at 3.10pm. Drinks were ordered with our food, had to chase up for drinks on three occasions, when they finally arrived one drink was missing and the wine was left in a leaking bucket on the table, bottle wasn’t opened and no wine poured for us. It was quite chilly whilst we were there, asked two members of staff for patio heater to be switched on, neither could this, At last time of asking, we were told gas bottle delivery hadn’t arrived, would have been nice if the Manager had bothered to come over rather than sending a member of the waiting staff to discuss this. As I said earlier, menu was very limited; we requested items from starters, mains and sides to be served together which was achieved. The food was good; however, the pricing was excessive for what we received and is more akin to Leeds of London. We’ve wanted to visit this bistro since it opened, after this visit we won’t be making any further bookings.

Not as good as it was before!Visited georges yesterday with a few friends, we had been to georges previously and we absolutely loved it, we was so excited to go back after lockdown. However the menu for food had all changed, they used to do the most amazing tapas now the menu is very boring to be honest. I find it quite expensive for what it is, probably would not return for food. We had booked a table for 6:30 turned up on time and was told that we had to wait for a table to become available, we was sat for an hour waiting for our table and had to remind the staff that we was eating. The staff was not attentive at all, we had so many empty glasses on our table and had to ask the staff to take them away when our meals came. We also had to as them to take away our dirty plates from our starters. Overall bad experience and okay overpriced food.

I’ve visited Georges bistro many times and regularly ordered the takeaway menu at home during lockdown. When I ate at the restaurant yesterday, the new menu is nothing like what George’s Bistro is well known for. The prices are ridiculously expensive and the portion sizes are small. There is only one vegetarian choice, which during this day and age is so so disappointing. They should stick to pizza, tapas, burgers and curries which is what they have always served and has always been amazing on previous visits. Instead of making this available to walk ins only which is ridiculous. I think they will end up shooting themselves in the foot here, as people will not keep paying these prices when they can get this for cheaper in local city centres. Don’t change what isn’t broken. I gave this 2 stars as the decor is lovely, as are the staff.

Found Staff member a few minutes later after looking around then knocking on the bifold door as she was outside sweeping. The wine bar door obviously needs some kind of device that alerts staff of entry. The restaurant service was attentive, swift, friendly. We were a table of 15 for a joint 80th & 50th birthday celebration. We arrived 15 minutes early and our table wasn’t ready so we had to wait in the very noisy and extremely busy and crowded bar. This was definitely not ideal considering our age range. Surely we could have had a drink in the bar at the restaurant? When we were allowed into the restaurant, our ‘table’ was just that - a bare table - with the balloons we had brought in earlier, just left on the floor at either end of the table. I had pre-ordered starters and mains as we were a bigger party which has been sent via email and made as simple as possible. There was no cutlery on the table, no wine that we had ordered no serviettes, nothing. The servers tried to bring the starters out before the whole party had arrived. Then when the mains were brought out, they tried to serve double of nearly everything! Surely the chef knew how many was in our party and how many main courses were being sent out? A few of the party requested to see the dessert menu, and we were reluctantly showed this. The spoons for the desserts were literally thrown on the table! We were also made to feel rushed, even though there was another large party in the room who were still there when we left. Considering the price of the menu, and the amount of money we paid for the evening, this was a total disappointment. Hopefully this was just a bad day for the establishment and our party was unlucky?

Had to wait a little while for food but a large party arrived just before us for their Xmas do, so this time of year, it is expected that places are busy. However food was lovely, the lamb kofta was one of best I have had. Will definitely go again.

Quiet Christmas Eve less than 1/4 full. Our party ordered 8 pizzas from the menu. Took over 35 mins for first pizza. Took over 1hour for last pizza and to arrive. Attitude of staff very off hand, clearly do not care about customer service, apology was not forthcoming.

Dined here with my brother one Saturday evening and the place was empty, but we still had a very pleasant dining experience, however the burger did let the side down. The interior is well lit and nicely decorated and the staff very friend! When my burger did arrive it looked great, but it was far from it! it was dry, very dry and it tasted odd! at first i assumed it was too much black pepper seasoning and then as i ate more of my dry burger, i convinced myself it was a mix of too much black pepper and coriander i could taste, but i wasn't certain. I know a good burger and this was a very poor effort. Needs addressing!!! The fries were nice, the coleslaw just silly to serve a portion of that size! a shot of coleslaw. The onion rings i ordered on the side were excellent!!! My brother had the muscles and loved them! The menu was good and I wish I’d have ordered a seafood dish to be honest. We will return again, but next time i'll avoid the dry odd tasting burger! Such a shame!

We booked our table for 5 at 1pm for my stepson s birthday. We ordered our food the waitress was very polite I have no complaints about her at all .Our food took ages to come and I found the room cold to sit in.When our food came my daughters pizza was very undercooked in fact wasn’t really cooked at all ! I complained to the waitress and we re ordered a roast dinner as she said it would come quickly as the rest of us had already started eating. It took over 20 minutes for her roast dinner to come after me asking twice if it was on its way .We also ordered desserts on which one was burnt .We wasn’t given a discount or any reduction at all off our bill .As it was a birthday treat I didn’t feel it was appropriate to complain even more as I didn’t want to upset the kids.Extremely disappointed! I will not return again and can not advise this place to any of my friends.

Waited an hour and a quarter on not an especially busy night for main meals for 4. I can't speak for the others in my party but maybe we are too polite! We eventually had to remind staff we were still waiting for our food. Staff keen to serve and helpful when they weren't grouped together at the bar chatting. No leadership? I chose lamb kebab... when it arrived arranged prettily on a vertical skewer, it looked good, but suspect it was designed to fill out the skewer. Each lump of lamb 5 lumps ( cooked okay) was then filled in between with inedible chillis?/peppers? So 5 lumps of lamb... the promising sounding breads were just 2 pitta breads taken out of a packet at the side of the plate, no attempt to warm clap cold. The described Riata sauce and tomatoes were served in tiny pots. So for £16 very disappointing then to put on a service charge? We were all out of waitng to want to wait for coffee or a desert to get delivered so didn't bother, so they lost business for that. I'm not really sure how they stay in business really? Would not return again.

After a super busy week a comforting home cooked roast Sunday lunch hit the spot.Beautiful beef and vegetables, perfectly fluffy yet crispy Yorkshire pudding, rich and tasty gravy jug on the side. If that wasn’t enough (after the spot on house red wine) we decided to share the creme brûlée’, out of this world, super crispy top with a comforting creamy pudding base, excellent home made shortbread and an extra vanilla ice cream ball just stole the show.Well done again George and the team! special mention to Lauren who is always so sweet, friendly and really makes an effort to look after us.

After hearing so many great reviews about this place my partner and I went to check it, we were not disappointed, we started at the wine bar before going into the bistro and the bar staff were friendly and incredibly welcoming (and make wonderful cocktails). Once in the bistro the staff on hand there were incredible also and the food was fantastic, with my partner stating he’d “happily come here everyday to eat the steak”. Great cost too given the quality of the food and drink they serve here. Would definitely recommend. I’m already planning my next visit.

Last minute booking as we couldn’t get into our preferred choice. Apart from the very large and noisy party that had been there for the best part of the day, pleased overall. The staff more than understood our request to move to a quieter table and at this point our expectations were low however the food was really rather good and the lamb kebab was spot on. My partner had the tapas which I thought were much nicer ( and less expensive) than a local (unnamed) tapas restaurant! Good service, good food and reasonably priced with ambience a lot more appropriate once the all day party had decided they’d had enough! Will return.

Very impressed with the whole place, decor, food and service were all excellent. Our waiter, Reece was exceptional, and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was outstanding - I had bread, dips and olives for starters and there was enough to share! My Husband had meatballs and 2 friends had the prawns, all of which were generous portions and very good. My main was sea bass which came with new potatoes and green vegetables in a delicious sauce, others had the chicken skewers and two had mussels with fries. None of us could fault the food, which was all reasonably priced! After the meal we had a drink in the adjoining bar, which again has been renovated to a very high standard. Will definitely go again.

We visited George’s Bistro for my mother in laws 50th birthday meal. We were seated on a lovely table which perfectly fit all 16 of us round, tucked away from the rest of the restaurant (we could be a tad loud) The staff were very polite and very friendly. The menu was fab, plenty to choose from, pizzas, steaks, kebabs, even tapas! something for everyone! The starters were great, I had camembert, absolutely amazing! The only thing i could say, is that the portions were slightly too big for a starter and if you’re anything like me, it’s hard to not eat when there’s food in front of you ! Everyone was really impressed with all their meals, no complaints at all, I had a chicken kebab, the only thing i would say is that if we’re slightly boring, literally just chicken, pepper, chicken, pepper all the way up the skewer, maybe some nice big onions would make it a bit more flavourful. Now.. the cocktails.. Oh My Word.... Amazing! Great price and great quality! One of the best pornstar martinis i have ever had. Massive pat on the back to the mixologist working that night! Would highly recommend for a lovely meal out, me and my fella hope to return soon for a more romantic meal! Great decor and ambiance and great staff! Thank you for a great night and great service!

We booked a table in what was very hot bank holiday weekend. We were warmly greeted by a lady we knew from the bistro in Scholes, ordered drinks and went to our table.A decent sized menu, we opted for tapas and picked 6 dishes with chips. All were very tasty and hot. Very enjoyable.I decided upon a sweet and the bizarre tasking porn star martini arrived! Tongue tingling but more a jelly wobble topping than a true cheesecake and not at all cheap! We paid the bill and went next door for some drinks. The place was buzzing and the garden area was packed with happy drinkers. The decor was really good and extravagant - it’s been well thought out and it was an enjoyable evening. The upstairs is almost ready which we believe will be a big room to hire for functions. We will return to try main menu foods soon.

We all had the Sunday Lunch (including one specially ordered vegetarian version) and all were amazing. The vegetables tasted so fresh and we all commented on the beautiful roast potatoes. I would say my best Sunday Lunch, outside of home. The waiting staff were very friendly and personable, however, it is evident that they all need extra training. If you would like specific information to help with your training plan feel free to contact me.We will definitely be back and by no means did our experience spoil the beautiful food, however, with some focus on the little extra details your FOH could match your food for 5* results.

I love what has been done with the place and the food is excellent but 3 hours to serve 3 courses come on guys! While there were plenty of waiting staff, who had time to chat at the bar and they were always polite and I don’t actually blame them but they are clearly lacking leadership. No one seems responsible for serving an area, we had to ask for plates to be cleared and repeatedly ask to take orders. The evening was spoiled by overly long waits (15 minutes to bring a pint of Guinness) this is solely down to poor management in supervising staff and directing them. This was our second visit to George’s Bistro and it was somewhat disappointing.

Visited this evening, weather was lovey, families in evidence and chose to sit in the area marked over 18’s only. It was rammed with children, don’t get me wrong, I really like children but not at 8pm at night, screaming at the top of their voices whilst the parents are getting ‘merry’. One lady, and I say that in the politest of terms, placed all the bean bags, which are featured on the George’s website as an inviting place for adults to sit and relax, next to our table so the children could run and jump into bean bags. When I politely pointed out the area was for over 18’s, she chose to ignore me and inform her friend, whereby expletives were shouted. We left the area and informed the doormen, who informed us children can stay until 9pm but not in the adult section! The chap did try to sort it out, the children remained! I really like the George and visit several timer per month, it has given Cleckheaton the boost it needed and usually provides a relaxing environment, however with children running amok and parents thinking their children have the right to do so, I shall not be visiting any time in the future!

Great weather brings everyone out. This weekend also had the added fun of the folk festival. Sat in the fenced off safe looking brightly coloured outdoor area i was surprised to be challenged about our child being there at 1pm.The George is at best confused.Surely knee high signs should keep this bit as a family area and not the other way round.Well done for getting rid of the undesirable elements. This was my fifth visit to George’s and all have been good but tonight we decided to try the steaks. We shared some bread and olives to start which was lovely, served with balsamic and a lovely garlic mayonnaise type dip. My daughter and I both went for the 8oz fillet and my partner the 10oz rib eye. The fillets were gorgeous, served with mushroom and tomato, sticky onion and fries. Very reasonably priced I think at £20. Sauces are separate at £2.50 but we got two between the three of us, a blue cheese and a peppercorn which was more than enough. My partner said his steak was a little under cooked for his liking but nothing that spoilt the evening. We shared a bottle of the Pinot Grigio blush rose which was lovely and my daughter had a couple of blackberry gin and lemonades. The bill came to £91 with no dessert as we were too full. Not cheap by any means but good value considering we had three steaks. The service can be a little slow but tonight it was great. The staff are a young team but are a credit to the place. Always polite and friendly but not in your face. We’d had drinks in the bar before the meal and headed back in there after. It’s a great social place and we will definitely be back when we get some much needed warmer weather!!!!!!

First time at ten George. Nice surroundings. The service was slow to say the least. Starters took an age to arrive. When they arrived they were nice. We then waited around 45 minutes for the tapas which arrived in dribs and drabs. The pork meatballs were served as patatas bravas. We served a mlxed kebab not ordered. But we ate it as we were so hungry either That or our fingers, the service was so slow. The drinks service was slow so slow in fact that I went to the bar to order a bottle of wine and gin to take to our table myself. One bottle of wine consumed prior to main course. Waiting staff seemed oblivious to our needs and seemed to see through us, when trying to catch their attention to order more drinks or to try and speed up the service. The staff were friendly and Apologetic but either hire more staff and an extra chef. We were not alone as tables nearby were also complaining, the only thing that came very quickly was the bill. When we informed the staff about the poor service, they were very apologetic and that They were short staffed. I am sorry to say that is no way to run a business. Such a shame as if the problems were resolved it would be a great place to eat and drink.Disappointed. If I had been waiting staff or the manager I would have at least offered a free bottle of wine as the first was gone after the starter. We had 3 bottles.I would welcome feed back. Very disappointed.

The food was very nice & hot but felt the waiting staff were not very quick with serving the food, which wasn't their fault as they seemed to be having training, just wish they had chosen another day to do it. We ordered 2 glasses of local beer only for it to be placed on a serving tray while the waitress took the trainee staff into the back, I waited long enough then went & collected the tray myself, the waitress came out & apologised but surely the point is to serve the customer with the drinks!!!The meal was nice & hot & plenty of it, we were asked if we would like a dessert which we said we would in 10 minutes as we were stuffed, the menu never appeared, so left disappointed as we wanted to try a dessert to see if it was as good as the main, not to worry, we will give it another try in the future when hopefully there isnt a staff training day.

After hearing great reviews I was looking forward to my niece's 18th birthday celebration meal. 19 family members were dining on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurants appearance was lovely and we were seated on a raised area next to the bar. Starters arrived and were average, nothing special. The main courses arrived, some delayed but I appreciate 19 is a big party. I had the chicken skewer with pitta and dips. The chicken was cold and the pitta hard. My son had the chicken also and his was only just cooked. One piece was just too pink so he left this. My daughter had the roast, plenty of meat and veg which she enjoyed. Hubby had the fish and chips which he said was lovely. The main disappointment came at dessert when 2 of the 4 choices were unavailable. My husband and I selected the victoria sponge dessert which was, quite frankly, appalling. I saw this dessert served to another table earlier in the evening and it was nothing like the ones we received. The sponge was hard with a spread of jam and it had a claggy, blob of cream on top. I can only think they had really run out of this as well so re-invented it! In my opinion not a good idea. My daughter and son ordered chocolate brownie, a replacement, which they said was hard, cold and tasteless. In all the meal was disappointing and the only reason I didn't complain on the day was because I didn't want to upset my niece. Service was ok but we won't be returning.

Thought we would try this place out not impressed with the overall experience of food the Sunday dinners beef not great nor the service waiter/staff took telling over 3 times for desserts had to wait over 30 mins for just brownies in the end just had to say cancel it too much time for something that take a couple of minutes to do the next day most of the family had upset stomachs wouldn’t recommend this place unless the service of communication to the cook and food standard is more on point than mediocre presentation we were compensated some money off the desserts but even the brownies are nothing different that shop bought similarities and tight portions to say the least the differences between kids to adults sizes not by much. To say the least and the only major positive was the decor of the overall place well set out looks inviting at least.
