Soggy fish and extremely poor customer service. A spoiled and expensive dinner, would not recommended. Very disappointed.

Don’t like to write a negative review as previous visits have been ok. However tonight I found I had to wait a bit longer than usual, the girl didn’t seem to know what she was doing (lost a clients order). When I got home and tasted the fish and chips plus mushy peas ,the peas are not cooked and tasted watery,the chips were soft and mushy. Very disappointed with the quality.

Beautiful fish and chips - haddock & chips cooked to order, with extra batter to protect the fish. Delicious crispy batter, plump, sumptuous chips. A lovely treat & thoughtfully wrapped in a cardboard box & paper bag to keep warm. Clean & welcoming. Thank You Andrico & Team.

I have used this Takeaway a few times before. I’ve always ordered the same meal, cod and chips. The time before this last order, it wasn’t very good, but it wasn’t very bad. Which is a shame because previously I would’ve said it was good. This time the dialed shifted and it was clearly into bad. The chips weren’t cooked very well and the fish was tiny. I sent them a message on Facebook to explain I was disappointed with the size of the fish. They sent me a reply that said “this is normal for our fish and we’re sorry you’re disappointed“. It really isn’t normal. It was a small piece and it was placed in a box and then handed to me so I didn’t actually see it when I picked my fish up . I have to say that I have given them a chance to explain and they failed to do so and basically told me that I was in the wrong. This was the normal size portion for their fish it was not a small portion it was £9 for cod and chips. I’ve looked at some of the pictures and they’re all bigger than the piece of fish they gave me . All they had to do was own the problem and they were sorry but they told me this was normal. Well, I’ll upload the picture and you can see for yourself if you think that is a big enough piece of fish there in mind I paid full price and did not have a small portion .

Don’t like writing poor reviews and very rarely do so, especially in our lovely village. Disappointed beyond belief ! Basic takeaway food from a chip shop, pie dinner x2. Hardly any gravy, a sweetness to the peas that was difficult to get past, scrapping them off the meal. Pie was solid, no filling at all, which I find bizarre as I’m sure these are brought in, can only presume they have been sat under the heat for a prolonged time drying the actual food out. Chips resembled McCann oven chips, gone wrong, chunky, cold in the middle, pale in completion, basically not editable ! This was the same with the Gyros and chips, hate to say this was a dreadful experience !

I went in for one item - salt and pepper chips. And I did initially think it was a bit expensive at £4.50 because other chippies don’t charge this. But I didn’t mind, I figured they like be worth it. The menu looks great. Lots of choice and I could see the staff were working very hard. I got my salt and pepper chips and initially thought they’d given me the wrong order as the box appeared quite small. I just told myself off for being greedy. But when I got home and opened the box, it was a particular stingy portion - with 18 chips. I took a photo and have messaged the chippy to raise their awareness be use surely this can’t be correct. They have replied a few days later saying that they have a measured scoop so it is correct but this does look a little bit leaner than usual and perhaps wasn’t filled correctly. I’m actually quite appalled that they are content to charge £4.50 for such a small portion. For a takeaway anyway. Eating in would be different. Prior to this I was keen to go back and try other items on the menu. And I may well do so to give them another chance. But I wouldn’t go there if you are expecting a large healthy portion. On this occasion we were getting this one portion between two of us, because usually, in all other chippy’s that is enough. Here we would definitely need a portion each. Which would have cost £9. Which seems an awful lot for (potential) 40 chips. Anyway, the chips were tasty, just not good value for money.

Have tried to order food for 6 months now through Just Eats for delivery. Always declined. Have even phoned Fish Loves Chips & told only do deliveries at weekends but didn't understand why Just Eats not accepting orders for them. Just Eats are accepting orders but it's Fish Loves Chips declining orders. Why lose business unnecessarily when food was always so good??? Get your act together Fish Loves Chips

Best fish and chips! Been going to Busy Bees for over 20 years but disappointed with the continued quality and portion size each week we tried Fish loves Chips and wow absolutely delicious 😋. Wish we’d have swapped sooner!

Fantastically tasty chips tonight, a great choice. We would definitely recommend. We came on the train from Formby as it was such a lovely evening. We love Ainsdale its such a lovely village and the beach and sunsets are amazing. Give it a try, you will love it too!!

Good fast service, lovely fish (we had the haddock), generous large portion of chips and tasty mushy peas.

The nicest chippy chips going. Not greasy and lovely crispy bits at the bottom and their mushy peas are the best! However it lost a point tonight as the fish wasn’t as crispy or battered as usual. All 4 of our fishes were barely battered but still beautiful on the inside, just missing that crispness to compliment the chips!

Great food & the mushy peas are the best around. Would like the fish to be a bit bigger but what there is is always good. Must compliment the staff who are always very friendly and courteous.

For a while now we have been using this chippy since it opened, and never had a problem with the Food and the service,But since the owner has never been in attendance , the quality of service and especially the food has gone down the pan ,tonight has been the worse food ever . The best so called chippy chips were appalling, warm ups,don't think we will frequent this establishment again ,unless the owner comes back and kick the staff up the arse, And get back to freshly cooked food again

I have never complained about a chippy before this place, but what a terrible experience.Firstly walked in unnoticed, and heard the young male and female joking around and swearing. That doesn't bother me, but it's not professional and at the prices this place charges, I expect good quality service and food.I was a bit dubious when, after ordering chips and sausage, to see the chips reheated (or 'double dip' as British Chippy calls them). The staff were preoccupied with each other and the chips looked awful when they came out. (I've worked in a chip shop before, so I know how things should be). Still, I gave benefit of the doubt and paid/left. When I got home I was extremely disappointed. The chips were completely inedible and I threw them all away. (After a long day and kicking my boots off, I couldn't be bothered driving back to the chippy.) So I rang to complain. Those chips should NOT have been served. Perhaps if staff focused on the job not each other, they'd have noticed the rubbish they were serving.Have been back once since, and when I asked if the chips were fresh was told 'no, they'll be double-dipped' I politely declined and left.Expensive chip shop, crap quality, silly name.

The chips were not cooked enough and many had inedible hard raw pieces in the middle. The fish was quite nice though, although a little greasy. This was our second visit, but we will not be returning again.

The food was fine. The place was clean. Staff were nice. Not a five star restaurant but I didn't expect it to be.

While in Southport pontins I visited this chippy twice, once take out and once eating in. Both times the food was amazing. Staff are lovely and friendly and do everything they can for you. Place is very clean and staff are well presented. Would definitely return if I was back in Southport. Can’t reccommend enough.

Ventured here when staying at Pontins Southport as the chippy on site left much to be desired! Easy to find and plenty of parking on the street. Staff very friendly, was pleased to be offered salt, vinegar and a slice of lemon (great touch), ready in quick time, and given to take away in boxed portions in a thick brown paper bag. A must-visit!

Yeah great - take away and drive a few yards down the road where you can drive on to the beach and eat watching the sunset!

This has got to be one of the best Chip shops around, I live across the road and use the place all the time, it is 100 times better than the other Chip shop down the road. Everything is cooked to order, yes you have to wait, this is what happens when food is 'cooked to order'The place is wheel chair friendly, which is great for people, opening hours are very reasonable, but the main thing is the quality of both the service and food, its excellent!!! The staff are a credit to the business (Family members I believe) so polite and efficient, I will be honest, I often see them leaving after a hard shift but they are still laughing and joking (Being someone who deals with the public daily, this takes some doing)Everyone needs to try this place out, I have seen some negative reviews and to be honest I have no idea where they are coming fromKeep up the good workDave

Two hours before closing time and one spoonful of dried up peas left! Hard core rap music with expletives being played loudly by two young lads that were scruffy behind the counter. Peas dried up and scarce and fish soggy.

Bad experience from start to finish, food took ages to be prepared don’t expect to wait for 20 mins for a chippy meal. Wasn’t good value for money portion size either

Fish and chips to die for - can't get better than that. Cod in a light batter that looks as good as it tastes - great any night for a filling meal. !!

Friendly staff.Fair prices.Excellent decor.Lots of room, not squashed in like other cafes in Ainsdale.Wide choice of food.Only problem - that the cafe opening times is linked to the Chippy times. Hopefully the cafe gets busier this summer enabling it to be open all day.How about a loyalty card? Every 8 drinks bought get a free drink?

Well they say “two out of three ain’t” bad and they would be right here!!Visited tonight around 7pm and the shop was full.One gentleman in the queue left due to the wait, and the fryer was a little bit undiplomatic and said out aloud “ Ooh we lost one” smiling which was a little rude I thought.I could see the funny side to this but not a really diplomatic thing to say was it?Two other ladies said they had been waiting a long time also for their order, and the staff were pleasant and apologies given in fairness here.Unfortunately my fish and my chips were limp and soggy, and also very greasy tonight, and to top it off there was no salt or vinegar in the shop?How can a fish and chip shop run out of the basic elements as all they had to do was to go to Tesco’s down the road and buy some more salt and vinegar?Common sense was obviously not working here tonight? And no it wasn’t that busy that a member of staff could of gone and bought some more!On a more positive note the other two occasions I’ve visited this chippy you have produced excellent food and it was lovely.However tonight my Friday fish and chip treat night was disappointing to say the least.I will be back however and look forward to a more enjoyable eating experience next time as this is usually a great chip shop.Thank you and my apologies for having to bring this to your attention.

Visited this chippy a few months ago as fancied a change from our regular chippy. I decided to sit in the side restaurant bit which has been decorated nicely. The chips were nice and hot but perhaps not as good as the other options in ainsdale. Service was fast but a little cold.

a great place if you want chippy food , a good choice of food including fish puddings pies and sausages We often call here on our way home from a day at pontins just b4 we get the train home

All cooked fresh and light, no heavy batter or soggy chips. Chicken curry 1/2 and 1/2 very good and low price. Great to have this choppy as our local.

One night we couldn't face the dinning room, so my daughter drove a short distance to find a chip shop. Best fish and chips I've eaten in ages. 5 star.

Good fish and chips with excellent portions too- I go back there every time I am working in April. They also do curries and kebabs

This used to be an excellent Chippy but over the years the portions have got smaller and sometimes the chips aren't that nice.It depends on what time you go in.Shame really as now you have to go all the way into Southport and to The Swan to get lovely chops at a fair price
