I'm always very satisfied with pret but this time we're not there at all. to start with it was full of homeless people in front of the entrance of the place, the unpleasant clerks didn't even say hello. in addition I asked for 1 biscuit and they gave me 2 making me pay for them without my knowledge because they gave them to me after I made the payment. the napkins were missing and we had to make do on our own. but the food is always good for the quality/price.

Artigiano in Trago Mills is certainly worth a visit. Fab food and coffee, with the best ever guys running the cafe. So pleasant, helpful and friendly. Cafe very clean, great music in the background. Cant recommend this place enough. 100% worth a visit. I go around 3 times a week. No idea why you don't advise your sister cafe.

Booked for lunch x4. Was quite busy when arrived but empty when came to pay bill. Nobody came to arrange bill or ask if anyone wanted coffee etc. Slow service throughout the meal when we needed to order. Food was good, staff polite but thought it couldve been better service as there were alot of young staff on. A few were friendly and smiling. As with all restaurants now, young people are the main servers. But they all lack alot of table manners and customer service. That's down to management training .. or lack of.

We often visit Tynemouth but this was our first time at Dil & the Bear. Can highly recommend. We had to sit outside because we have a dog, but that's ok as it was a sunny day and we like sitting outside anyway if we can. The cafe is lovely inside. We had great coffee and cake. We will return to this cafe next time we are in Tynemouth.

We booked ahead and met up with four friends for lunch. We had a table in the conservatory at the front of the building, which was nice and bright. The area next to the bar would have been a bit dark and gloomy. We ordered drinks and didn't have to wait too long. Our food orders were a reasonable wait of about 20 minutes. My friend and I ordered from the kids menu because we wanted smaller meals (I had printed the menu beforehand and took it with me). I had the kids fish and chips with peas, carrot and cucumber sticks and a wedge of tomato. My friend had the kids curry. We both agreed that it was a good amount for a smaller appetite and sufficient for a lunch time meal. The others in the group had meals from the main menu. We all thought the food was excellent - nice and hot, tasty and well presented. We three ladies had desserts from the kids menu (brownie and ice cream and strawberry sundaes). The restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of room between tables. Will go there again.

I’d like to first say that I have NEVER posted a review (good or bad) in my life, but tonight I felt words needed to be said. Firstly, I’d like to thank the restaurant and bar team for an amazing experience. The restaurant team in particular were fantastic and dealt with my food allergies very well (best I’ve ever seen!) Unfortunately, the overall night experience was soured considerably by the jazz band (who for clarification performed on the night of the 25th February 2025). My mother, brother and I were originally enjoying the experience but mid way through the performance my mother was told off by one of the performers. I appreciate she’s louder than some viewers, but she is an elderly lady (hard of hearing) trying to enjoy a night out. The Brunswick House experience was a year planned trip by my brother and I and unfortunately she was so saddened by the jazz performers “telling her off” that we had to leave. I know performers are under a lot of pressure, but the fact one of the members felt so obliged to (rudely) come up to my mother and ask her “if she had a problem”, was just not acceptable. As a former performer myself, I was shocked and appalled by the performers behavior so said to my mother that we should leave (as she was herself quite distraught). To clarify, the restaurant and bar staff were fantastic, but unfortunately due to the jazz performer experience we will not be coming again.

After a refreshing Sunday walk with friends, we stopped at The Gate Inn, and it turned out to be the perfect end to our day. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed into a warm and homely atmosphere that immediately felt inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the roast dinner—an absolute treat. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the succulent meat to the crisp yet fluffy roast potatoes, all complemented by rich, flavorful gravy. The portion sizes were generous, leaving us happily satisfied. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble, and their welcoming nature added to the overall experience. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable, making this an all-around fantastic visit. With a beautiful setting and a truly comfortable ambiance, The Gate Inn is a place we’ll definitely return to. If you're looking for a top-notch Sunday roast in a charming pub, this is the place to be!

Really nice selection of traditional meals, all made with locally sourced produce. Staff were friendly and attentive without being fussy. Food was great and on par price wise with others. Would highly recommend but also suggest booking to avoid disappointment.

Booked lunch here and had it confirmed, even texted in advance of going - when we arrived the place was completely closed, no signs on the door explaining why or anything - just completely dark and all locked up. They didn't even let us know that they wouldn't be open. I'd avoid booking here as seems they may be closed down and just haven't updated their website. Hopefully they haven't had any major disasters.

We booked in hoping for a really traditional Sunday lunch after a long morning hili g on the fells. On arrival, the friendly staff welcomed us and sat us straight away. Drinks and starters came so quickly, followed by an incredible Sunday lunch. The lamb and the harissa roasted cauliflower were both outstanding. We couldn’t be happier with the choice we made in going to the Swinside Inn. What a lovely place. It isn’t cheap, but it’s not overpriced. We felt we got exactly what we paid for.
