Booked lunch here and had it confirmed, even texted in advance of going - when we arrived the place was completely closed, no signs on the door explaining why or anything - just completely dark and all locked up. They didn't even let us know that they wouldn't be open. I'd avoid booking here as seems they may be closed down and just haven't updated their website. Hopefully they haven't had any major disasters.

Fantastic venue... Eaten here in the past , always very good . Bottomless brunch was busy today .. Although no fault of the venue , one ignorant lout was having a massive pee in the middle of the car park in broad daylight, in front of a customers car .. Spoilt our visit

overall, dinner was very nice, but ordered the buttermilk ranch fries and when it came to the table we got a cabbage! we then told them that we ordered the fries with buttermilk ranch and then they changed it and came back out with just plain fries yet still charged us £4. we ordered 2 coca colas- 1 of them tasted like ordinary coke whereas the other tasted other fizzy lime water which tells me that it is very inconsistent. also the garlic bread was burnt and chewy so basically inedible. not the greatest experience for a valentine’s day dinner!

We went to The Fox's Revenge for a surprise 80th Birthday party for my Dad. There was a large number of people attending for dinner. From the first time I contacted the team there to the end of the celebrations I cannot fault their attentive service. They were very accommodating and allowed myself and my husband to arrive in the afternoon to decorate the tables etc and they also supplied us with additional lighting which made for a great party atmosphere. The food was fantastic and everyone received their food at the same time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue. In fact my husband and I have returned for the last two Sundays for their Sunday roast and thoroughly recommend that too.

Absolutely amazing, my first time and most definitely not the last, the food was delicious! I will definitely be returning.

Fantastic meal for four of us. Can’t recommend highly enough. The food had some amazing flavours throughout the courses and the wine was a perfect match for the meal. Good selection of dishes for adults and kids at very reasonable prices, we will definitely be coming back.

Just had dinner here (October 23) and had a lovely meal. Stunning old place and the menu gave plenty of options. Food was amazing (the burger was the best I’d had in a long time and the sausage starter was really tasty), good prices and great portions. But most of all the service was amazing. Alex and her team made us feel really at home and looked after us, our cockapoo and our 4 month old baby. We felt very valued and at home. Thank you for a lovely dinner!!

Yes, the planks of wood that you sit on in the Smoke Shack are uncomfortable. But the food was delicious! Having driven for 8 hours to get to Cornwall, this place was a real welcome for our dinner that evening. Staff were very friendly, would definitely return.

It is what you would expect from a Smoke Shack! An outdoor barn - assume freezing in evenings/autumn. If you are expecting the pub then it is most definitely not! It is next door. Simple menu mostly BBQ. We went for lunch and had a BBQ box each. It was very tasty and plentiful great for lunch.

The Smoke Shack - Absolutely delicious food, flavour flavour flavour from our first mouthful of BBQ buttermilk chicken box, the melt in your mouth classic burger, the Buttermilk burger with Korean sauce to the waffle deserts - the chocolate waffle and the biscoff waffle. Also they make an excellent cup of tea. So from our family a full round of applause, for great value served by friendly staff, we will definitely be back

Was looking forward to my birthday meal before going to the circus as the food last summer was outstanding. But unfortunately not on this occasion. Staff are lovely & helpful & setting is good but the food was dry & unappetising & not cheap! We won’t return.

Arrived from a local Airbnb with low but hopeful expectations having read recent reviews. Unfortunately we were indeed disappointed to find very over priced menu, no atmosphere in the cold shed and main pub shut ( only opens on Sunday) After a drink we left and found a much better option in a local village! Don’t bother

Such a nice location. We were in the teepee outside and the smoke house food was excellent. The staff were also very attentive. 10/10

We were lucky to get a last minute booking outside and glad we did. Perfectly kept ales and food choice was brilliant.Wonderful way to keep a business operational during the pandemic.The loaded fries were superb as was the chicken flatbread and I would love the recipe for the Asian slaw.Service was good but people need to understand the staff shortages in the hospitality sector due to the pandemic and make allowances.This is proper bbq food and not sure what some people expect but our teenagers who can be picky both loved it and would go back several times a week

Previously booked before and had a phone call cancelling 10 mins before we are due to arrive ( ceiling fell in) Booked for a family meal on a Sunday ( no roasts ? ) Very Very overpriced Food was ok for a roadside burger van but not for a apparent award winning restaurant, asked if restaurant was open but told there to understaffed to open ?Staff seemed nice enough But definitely wouldn’t recommend to any friends Never left a bad review for anyone but this really didn’t impress any of us

Outside only at the moment but setting was lovely and food fab! Large tipi style tents with fairy lights made for a perfect summer evening casual meal with family. All staff friendly and helpful. Was a great find and so pleased we’d booked a week or so before. Smoked burgers delicious along with hot buffalo cauliflower and pork belly burnt ends Restaurant building, a 17th century farm house, looked beautiful. Will defo visit again when in the area.

What an absolute gem of a find!!! I have raved about this place with friends and across social media, since return back to Warrington from our week in Cornwall! I wrote a menu for our local smokehouse I have been to a lot of smokehouse bbq places around my area and Manchester. This place exceeds all! Simply stunning food, we absolutely loved our takeaway and the service was exceptional during our day drinks hence why we returned later for takeaway food. We look forward to visiting Cornwall again just for this place, sorry but I’m obsessed with it! The set up the vibe everything was spot on! Thank you!

We came here last night for a bite to eat and it excelled all expectations! Such a unique set up for Cornwall and the food was delicious, you can instantly tell they have a real passion for the food they serve!

Brilliant - can’t be faulted , went Friday afternoon , warm welcome ( had already booked ) .. seated , the smell of the food cooking outside in the smoke drums etc just made you happy , how to order on appExplained , but choose waiting service , staff couldn’t do enough… food well where to start ! We had the smoked meat plater with Asian slaw … it was amazing , it just melted in your mouth - pulled pork , crispy pork ends , pulled Chuck beef , something chick , homemade smoked sausages , the Asian slaw with peanut , Sesame seed and soy was fabulous … all in a clean , laid back , chilled out garden , with a huge TP tent … music was chilled as well no hardcore rock / trance rubbish so you can’t hear your self think ! If the highest source was 10 this is 15

Long wait but food was worth it!!Ordered the spicy chicken burger and some dirty fries and both were incredible, i was getting rather hangry with almost 50 minute wait however the food more than made up for it!!Highly recommend. Has a great atmosphere too!

Visited last week. The place looked wonderful with the grand tipis, unfortunately the food was poor and well overpriced. We’d paid £13.50 for chicken burger which was so spicy my mouth felt like it was on fire and it was a very small bit of chicken and the bap seemed fluffy and cheap. To my surprise chips were extra again and they came seasoned which only made matters worse. Staff were friendly. I won’t ever go back, I had high hopes but it certainly wasn’t worth the money.

This was without a shadow of doubt the best pub lunch we have ever had. The welcome is amazing, fortunately the weather was nice and everyone was sitting outside really well spaced on big pub style tables.The food was excellent, we met James the head chef who looked after us really well. We had a huge selection of BBQ meats with amazing vegetable salads - superb.Make a point of finding this place because it is off the beaten track next door to a camp site - we will definitely be going again as soon as possible!

I was recommended this place by a colleague at work. We had a very warm welcome on arrival and had a table in the tipi. There was music playing and the vibe was second to none we felt very relaxed and not rushed at all. The food and service was first class. Met up with family who were here on holiday. Able to sit 8 of us at a picnic table, as they are classed as an outdoor eating area. Felt Covid safe, nicely distanced & staff clean down tables, seats after use. Not the comfiest of seats, especially for the 2 men who sat at the end of the table - seats far too low. Staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great - it was good to have signs of life after the lockdown. 7 of us ordered Sunday lunch, this was very tasty, but only one veg - leeks - felt a bit cheated. The meat, roasties & Yorkshire pud were good. It is not the same to eat a roast dinner out of a cardboard box - would have preferred a plate. Had read before that they only have wooden knives & forks - luckily I took my own. The 8th person had the mackerel flatbread, which she said was very good. All that is needed to make the experience first class would be: a plate, a real knife & fork and more veg.

Been here twice now, amazing food and a great outdoor setting when the sun is shining. Had the chicken Schwarma flatbread first time and buffalo chicken loaded fries the second time. App for ordering food and drinks works well. All the adults and kids in our party went away full and happy. Only niggle is food comes in boxes with wooden cutlery, but I guess that is just COVID.

Met with our friends who were down on holiday. Haven’t been for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Gorgeous food and great outdoor atmosphere!

We had family visit for the weekend and we treated them to Sunday lunch here. The weather was absolutely awful and we were sat under the tipi. Despite this the staff were absolutely amazing, and although soaking wet were super friendly, helpful and high in spirits. The atmosphere was great and the food was insane. We ordered 3 beef & 1 chicken roast and were not disappointed. Absolutely recommend a visit & great value too! Up there with one of the best restaurants here in Newquay.

Beautiful setting under the tipi and delicious burgers had by us all as group of 4. My bug bear is that we paid £46 for 4 burgers in boxes with no sides which is awfully steep for just a burger in a box. Not made clear that sides are extra. after speaking with with other tables this is something others were also mentioning and feeling let down by.

We visited here in May, the week before restaurant restrictions eased. We booked ahead of time, for the tipi and certainly wasn’t disappointed, despite the rain!The staff were friendly and accommodating - as we were about 30 mins early. Food was excellent - the chicken burger had a great spicy sauce, the beef burger was well cooked and the loaded fries were well “loaded”!

Came in today with two friends after a weekend working. We were seen as soon as we got there and sat in the garden without a booking straight away. We were given menus and asked to order online, which is not an issue, but the signal is not the best due to location so they sent someone straight away to look after us. Amazing service, the food was fresh and of high quality and the atmosphere is just unbelievable. Thank you all!!

Worst Sunday roast I have ever had the misfortune to eat, went with 2 friends, 1 who had eaten there before,and had a great meal, we ate outside, as they were not serving inside, the food was served in cardboard boxes! My friend asked for Roast Beef and was served pulled beef which was so tough, she actually choked on it, my other friend and I had the chicken, which was over cooked and tough, served with undercooked cheesy leekes, slimy Yorkshire puddings and very hard roast potatoes,we didn’t want to complain as we know how hard it’s been for the hospitality business, but the food was awful, so I mentioned it as I paid the bill, and it was met with a very disinterested response

Fabulous food and great service. Had read about fox's revenge and had to try it. So glad we did, a great selection of burgers and flatbreads that didn't disappoint, combined with friendly service in a great setting. Will definitely visit again

Amazing food, amazing customer service, amazing chef, amazing effort put into overcoming the challenges Covid-19 has brought to small businesses! Tipi is a great idea and novel to enable duvets, blankets to be brought to overcome the weather that is beyond anyone's control.. I would definitely recommend and definitely come again!!

Not sure on how the restaurant will be setting up once the indoor restrictions are removed but we are in the tipi and it was great. We had the mixed meat, the buffalo cg chicken dirty fries and the kid’s mac & cheese. The mixed meat was so large that the person who had that (very shockingly) had to take some home for later. The buffalo chicken was the best dirty fries I’ve ever eaten, the chicken was perfectly cooked and the fry seasoning was delicious, be warned though, they are a little spicy. The mac & cheese genuinely filled our littlest family member who usually gets bored before finishing a meal. If we lived nearer we would definitely be back again sooner, we’ll probably have to wait a year now though.

The menu is very basic in its ingredients list, my family don't like HOT spicy foods & I have bad reactions. My daughters chicken burger was covered in Chilli's, which she had to remove before eating, my mixed meat box was the same but even after removing all the chillies it was so hot that after a couple minutes I couldn't eat any of the food. The cooks obviously like hot food but they need to realise that not everyone does & we would like the option to have chillies omitted.The waitress was very helpful & brought over tap water & offered different food but by this time it was too late. The burgers fall apart while eating & you have to eat them out of the tiny cardboard box with the blunt wooden knife & fork. The food was too expensive for what felt like a BBQ take away in a cold tee pee tent, my mixed meat was £18 & didn't include any chips. For the price, I'd expect more & would rather get a mixed kabab & eat off a park bench at half the price.Good luck with trying to find a parking space in the car park as it's too small for the amount of cars/dinners, took us a good five minutes waiting for someone to leave so we could take their space. We will NOT be back again.

Lovely location for a meal on a sunny spring evening under the tented area outside. Wonderful food too - grandson loved his mini pizza and the rest of us had various burgers and all went down a treat - certainly worth going

Amazing beer garden complete with huge tipi, fairy lights and very socially distanced tables. Smell of the bbq is amazing! Music playing, drinks arrived almost immediately on ordering and the food in minutes. I had the pulled beef flatbread, huge portion, tasted incredible. I have allergies and the chef spoke to me and was happy to accommodate. Staff were friendly and helpful, great service. Felt like we’re on holiday even though we live in Cornwall, lovely summer vibes. A must visit but book ahead, we were lucky but went on a weekday lunchtime and they were still busy.

Came her for our anniversary- lovely to eat out after lockdown. Seated under teepee which was lovely and spacious. Ordered through app - local beer and cider (St Austell Tribute and Bearded Brewery cider) Food was excellent fresh and tasty, good portions and value. Staff on duty were really friendly and helpful. Would recommend and definitely return.

First venture out after lockdown and it was delightful. The tent and surrounding lighting was very pretty and after a drink and seeing people I didn’t know felt like a festival. Service was great and the classic burger and seasoned fries were delicious.

I have been visited the restaurant as my friends recommended it. We have waited for ages to arrive our 2 burgers which we could not even eat as it was terrible. My finacee loves burger and I never seen him to leave any food in his life. This was the first time he had left the burger and I left it too. It was awful, it was extremely salty! And the fries as well. We have mentioned for the waitress but they did not changed the food, they have offered a portion of fries for free. Well we have paid more than £50 and we were hungry and did not eat the food but obviously they have charged us. My partner was still hungry, I just did not wanted to spend more money so he had a burger king burger which he never has but that day he said burger king burgers was better than this "restaurant" The place is nice and friendly but the food it is horrible. I won't ever go back there even I see many Cornish people instagram stories trying to advertise this place but it is not worth a penny.

What a little Gem we stumbled across!! Amazing outdoor seating area, chilled music and great atmosphere. We had kids pizzas, a cheeseburger (which my husband said was the best he’s ever had), dirty fries with pulled beef and pork belly flatbread- absolutely delicious!! Yes, slightly pricier than some other local pubs but I honestly think the quality of the food was worth it and you are (in part) paying for the experience and surroundings- which a lot of effort has gone into! Very attentive staff and very Covid safe ♥️

The food was nice and I understand that quality & local ingredients cost money but £15 for a burger with no sides is a little steep.Would maybe return but only for a special occasion and would have a flatbread as they seem to be the best value food on the menu.

Well what can I say what an amazing restaurant. With the new guidelines we were outside wit h they have done amazingly it looks beautiful and it was really a great experience! We loved the food and the service was great! Would 1000% recommend !

We had a meal here for my 40th Birthday, wow we loved it! The food was amazing & the staff were so friendly. At my husband’s request they organised a beautiful bouquet of flowers to be on our table for me. We 100% recommend ‘The Fox’s Revenge’. We are booked to dine there again this evening and we can’t wait x

3 of us came, fires were lit it was warm and cosy and staff were friendly and attentive. We had crispy squid, beef burger, mussels, sirloin steak. It was incredible food was perfect it's the best meal out we have had for a very long time! The truffled cauliflower cheese that came with the steak was so good! We will definitely be back! Four of us had dinner at the Fox's Revenge last night and we were not disappointed. The food was incredible, the service friendly and the atmosphere really buzzy. It was all round outstanding and I can't wait to go back.

The service was fantastic! Went in for a couple of pints and ended up having a few side order. All tasted amazing! Will definitely be back soon!

We visited while staying on the very rural campsite, in October half term, it was so lovely not having to drive.Great food, big portions and welcoming staff. It felt very Covid safe and we loved sitting next to the open fire. The moules were the best I’ve ever had, in a delicious sauce and served with fries and a chunk of delicious bread. I’ve only dropped 1 star as lots of people took dogs, including us and unfortunately some barked non stop throughout the meal which was really annoying, but not the staff’s fault. In many other pubs/ restaurants they would have been asked to go outside or have to leave. We were just happy that ours didn’t join in!

First time visiting this pub/ restaurant we had heard good things about it and decided to give it a try while on holiday in the area We booked via Facebook messenger and had our booking confirmed but when arriving at the pub no booking could be found we stood around for 10 minutes while different staff tried to find the booking luckily we kept the messages and could prove it was booked Eventually we was seated and a drinks order taken quickly that arrived at the table in no time Mains were taken and arrived promptly as well I must say the Lemon sole I had was excellent, all the meals were cooked very well with the other people in our group having steak and burgers I would point out the fish was the only meal that looked nice on the plate the rest presentation was very bland or none at all All the staff we met were friendly and helpful even with it being very busy that Friday night in October half term This pub isn’t cheap at all compared to others in the area offering similar or better cuisineOverall a good first experience

Had the best time celebrating my partners birthday. Such a warm welcome from the friendliest staff. The food was first class everyone in our party couldn’t speak highly enough of this place.

A little disappointed in the change in comparison to our previous visits. The quality of the food was nice however the portion sizes were too small to warrant the high price tag. We left feeling v hungry.

I called the day before to book and found the staff very helpful and informative. We were told its steak night on a Monday and what the deal wasWe arrived on a cold, wet, dark night and the pub looks great inside and out. Sat by a fire and were treated so well by the staff. We ordered the 40oz T Bone which was by far one of the top 3 steaks we have ever had. The sides that come as part of the deal were excellent - truffle mac n cheese was the best ever. Great evening

Finding this place can be confusing by Sar Nav. But persevere. And don't be put off by the holiday cottages which surround this weell hidden secret,Inside this 17th century pub is wonderful food, a great range of wine and a really friendly and efficient crew.The musels I had were wonderfully fresh and cooked to perfection in a white wine sauce designed to be soaked up with the delicious bread.Arancini were also wonderfully cooked.A must visit pub.

We went to the Seafood Restaurant Padstow (Rick Stein's) yesterday, Yes, we were impressed with the food, but, what Ben, at Fox's Revenge served us tonight, was better. Fox's Revenge....great food, great service and no where near the ridiculous prices of Padstow! This is a hidden gem which you really should try. Also, don't miss their Espresso Martinis, a great end to a fabulous meal!

Woooooooooo. What a little Gem. This place is not only hundreds of years old but the food and drink are to die for. We have visited about 6 times in the last month and each time it’s up there with the best. There is a young team here that will amaze you with the exceptional service. Last night Ben the Head Chef cook me the largest and best 16oz Fillet I have ever had. Tonight he did the same with a Sirloin and I don’t normally eat Sirloin. The Fox’s Revenge is the place to eat and drink. If you are from afar or local, this place is more than worth the visit.

We only live a few minutes drive away so we have visited a couple of times and it doesn't ever disappoint. In pre plague times we have seen live music here too. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. The service is friendly but genuine, the young dark haired lady whose name I forgot was really lovely, the menu is great, the food is top notch, everything was very fresh tasting (mussels - yum!) And a great choice of wines and cocktails. We will be back in a few weeks for Sunday lunch! I think it's fairly priced for what you get too. Can't fault anything, keep doing what you're doing!

Ok, so the setting is perfect. Loved the Teepee with fairy lights, adorable and a really nice touch. Service was good too, waitresses were very nice and helpful.The food...we didn't realise that their acclaimed Chef had departed so can only assume that is the reason for a very average dining experience at a pretty high price. I don't mind paying for quality but there are parameters, especially when dining out. Both Children had the chicken...was nice but fatty and the spring onions looked like they had been resurrected from a former meal.... mushrooms on toast, again, very nice. No offer or seasoning though?? Bit strange.The desserts were overpriced and seriously did NOT deliver. Apple crumble which was topped with burnt granola (stewed sour apple underneath) was quite frankly rank. My Daughter had the honeycomb chocolate bar which was tiny and came with three...yes three whole raspberries and a dollop of ice cream for £8.50!! As much as a main course!! I did raise with the waitress that the crumble was not actually a crumble and had a refund of £6.50. Doesn't really make a huge difference to a £75 bill for 2 adults and 2 children with one drink each. Overpriced and overrated I feel. Charge the prices if you can deliver the quality. Won't be going back as much as I love the place. Feeling very let down as it was a special occasion

New management in 2020 have turned this into a really wonderful pub. The menu is superb and the food is interesting, tasty and really well priced with big portion sizes. Really good vegetarian options too, the tofu burger was *amazing* and proves that veggie food doesn't have to be boring. Staff are friendly and helpful too and seem to genuinely enjoy working there.So happy this place has been turned around, we'll be regulars from now on.

We were recommended to visit this pub by some friends who lived nearby. The service was really friendly and prompt. There was a fabulous Teepee in the garden. As it was a sunny day we sat outside, the food was great we had arancine, truffle mac and cheese, hummus and chips. It was all great. The inside of the pub was lovely. We would love to come back in the future. Thanks for your hospitality

Came on a whim for lunch, very quiet and not much COVID precaution evident other than table spacing. No masks on anyone. I only saw one hand sanitiser and that wasn't’ obviousFoood was okay but menu isn’t all that inspiring, basic staples of fish and chip/burgers etc.Staff very friendly and chatty.Hopefully evening meals are better.

I booked the tee pee for my partners birthday which was lovely and at no charge. But I had asked for more tables to keep a safe distance between diners and for a few extras. They said it would be all ready for 6pm with the fairy lights etc. When I arrived nothing had been done so the party had to sort the seating out themselves. They said to download their menu app to order and that they'd take contact details for contact tracing. They did not take our details and we were made to order at the bar where no one was socially distancing and no plans in place to do so. Also the teepee was then used by other members of the public who were not apart of our party which made it awkward. The food is substandard pub food and despite them saying they would put on extras for the party, they didn't. It is expensive too. I ordered a burger. It only came with chips which were no better than McDonald's chips. Not even a garnish for £12.00.This pub is in a lovely setting, but not easy to get to. They allowed me to bring my own decorations and cake. Although the staff were friendly I would say they were lazy and careless. The whole party were locals and sadly none of us were impressed enough to go back.

Appalling service, have to order via the app, waited 40 minutes for drinks to arrive and a further 45 minutes wait for food and when it did it was the wrong meal. Over priced food and drink and small portions.

VERY DISSATISFIED, overcrowded, NOT COVID SAFE, Very over priced. LImited menu terrible, Food App very slow with no internet connection. Will DEFINITELY NOT be returning for a very long while. Shocking !!!

We had heard that this would be a great shout for a family night out so booked up for one of the nieces birthdays. Don't order a cocktail! Stick with something in a bottle would be my recommendation. The cocktails were odd, like the alcohol was some nasty import. Food - basic, cheap though. Nothing special. One of our party wasn't well through the night, and at the time of eating her chicken burger she said she didn't like it - not ideal... We were't sure but maybe all is being run lean due to covid!

Visited here, must have been half a dozen times now, and without exception, the food is great and the staff, Sarah inparticular is an exceptional member of staff you have.However, why is it, that it seems impossible to get orders right? Its not just once, but 3 times now it has happened.Order drinks, a pint and a half for my wife, wait 15 mins, pint I ordered is lager, not IPA.Food arrives, one main course is wrong and a mystery other dish is present, that wasn't ordered at all.Now all of this was sorted without delay, apart from the Lager, which I just drank anyway, rather than faff about further.I seems that you are shown to a table by one person, order drinks with another, that are then delivered to you by yet another person, after someone else has poured them?Same with the food, I feel you need to streamline your staffing as orders are obviously getting muddled with too many people getting involved.Funnily, the table next to ours, had exactly the same problem, food back and forth etc.I don't know why its so confused in there, surely if you are offering waitress service, one person should look after the table, not 3 or 4 differing people?I love this place, it really do, but this isn't the first time this has happened, its 50pc of the time!!The food waste must be costing you, we returned a wrong dish, and a dish that we didn't order, same for the next door table.These were not big parties, just 2 lots of couples.Please sort it out, and organise the staff, so each one knows what they are doing and the customers can order with ONE person, who looks after your table.PLEASE!!

Visited with friends who've been here before and said it was amazing. However not sure why, but it was exceptionally disorganized on the day of our visit, the staff were very accommodating and friendly though. Limited menu, overpriced, small portions, cooked without any finesse. No herbal teas either. Beautiful setting. We visited in the afternoon so maybe evenings are a better time, with a different menu and chef. No herbal teas or pizzas available.

Visited this pub as a resident of the adjoining Carvynick campsite. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Great ambience, pleasant staff, chilled music, a very nice place to spend an evening. Price-wise it’s a bit more than your average, but you really get what you pay for. Fantastic burgers, dirty fries, good selection of drinks. It’s a real bargain during Eat Out to Help Out, but on those days I’d recommend planning ahead and booking as it’s a popular location. This place was a real find. Normally visit the Newquay area several times each year and I’m looking forward to going back here.

We originally asked for takeaway but at last minute changed our minds, had a long wait for 2 burgers and fries which were seriously overpriced, and then when told we had to vacate our table within the hr we left what was left of our meal n went.

Have eaten at the Fox’s Revenge several times after lockdown, and it never fails to impress. Their current set up of outside seating (with some under the cover of a beautiful teepee and others socially distanced inside if needed) and made to order, freshly cooked bbq food, burgers and pizzas is simply perfect for these times and the summer season. Everything we have tried from the menu has been exceptional but the chicken dirty fries are my absolute favourite (tasty buttermilk chicken, fries, cheese and lashings of the best gravy in the world!!!). The waiting staff are so friendly and can’t do enough to help. The music is pitched perfectly to give the whole place a relaxed and chilled vibe. Yes it is busy on Eat Out to Help Out days and the wait times for food are a little longer but that is to be expected with these unprecedented visitor numbers and the staff work so hard to keep everyone fed and happy. Looking forward to my next visit already.

Good food, good service, good music. An unusual and exciting concept full of friendly and interesting customers and staff. Well worth a visit if only to try the delicious burgers.

Thought we would eat out to help out at the Foxes Revenge tonight having been here a couple of years ago. Two years ago we left very disappointed so after hearing about the new ownership, we thought we would give it another chance.It started great, we were sat early and the waitresses were all very friendly. However, we then waited over an hour before having to chase our food. Another 15 minutes later and it finally arrived. Normally it would have been £40 for what we ordered which were two flat breads, fries, beans and two drinks. The bread portion of the chicken flatbread was stone cold and the chicken was luke warm (and that’s being generous). The beef was so dry, so fatty and also cold. Both were really small portions too. We didn’t bother complaining due to the fact we know how awkward it is, having both worked in hospitality for years, and we couldn’t be bothered to wait any longer. If we had paid full price we would have been even more pissed off. What makes it more frustrating was that we could see the chefs just walking around in no rush. It wasn’t until other tables, alongside us, had complained that they seemed to start working...The waitresses were all lovely, especially the lady that cleared our table so we just want to say we know it was not their faults at all!Ironically, last time we came was for our second anniversary and today was for our fourth. We won’t be celebrating here again that’s for sure!

Great food, great service and a lovely service. The best pub in the area. Part of a campsite but all are welcome.

Wow what an amazing place in times like these! Food was amazing and staff was helpful and friendly! Beautiful setting and made you feel so comfortable and safe! We will defo be going back and thoroughly recommend to anyone ☀️🍸🍻

well what can i day about the foxes revenge... 5 * food ..absolutely stunning surroundings,i must say the teepee in the gardens is gorgeous which is easy access up a few wide steps into the gardens .. there is also tables on the patio at the bar on ground level ..dog friendly and the staff are amazing!!!..5*... they all cant do enough for you and make you feel so welcome 100% recomend please please go as u wont ever be disappointed best place ive visited yet!

Went today for lunch, waited ages food came undercooked and overpriced. Really steep steps no handrail or ropes for support. Tried charging for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. Awful experience never ever again. 🤬🤬🤬

I live locally to the foxes revenge. I've just tried to make a lunch booking for two weeks hence. Found the website is gone. On phoning I was told I had to get their app to book, which, for me, means upgrading to a new phone. No other alternative offered. No way will I buy a new phone just so I can book with them.

My partner and I visited on a early afternoon of 21st July. The lady that served us was wonderful. Setting is fantastic. So nice to go somewhere where you can tell the chef's have a passion for cooking! Beautiful food bursting with flavours. Well done to all that work here :D

A real find in this new COVID era ! Can’t recommend enough staff super helpful and friendly food was refreshingly different and delicious they even managed to put a smile on my fussy vegan wife ! The app ordering is good and great service. Can’t wait to return and look forward to visiting when fully up and running as well . Get out and support this great place !

This is how to operate under covid19.Inside the pub is not available, so you have tables outside, or inside the giant tepees if you wish.The food is ordered via an app, which is really simple and it's a choice of burgers, flatbread wraps or pizzas, with some wicked side orders of dirty fries, wings etc.Burgers and such are done outside on the wood fired bbq and are simply delicious (as was everything, to be fair).Drinks were at the table within 3 minutes of ordering and food pretty quick as well.The ordering process might sound impersonal, but it's just plain efficient in these difficult circumstances and the staff are really friendly and more than happy to help.The new, young owners only took over just before lock down, and are doing a simply great job with a really creative approach to the current situation. If they're this good now, can't wait (can anyone?) until we're back to normal operations.

We camped at Carvynick Holiday Park last weekend and The Fox's Revenge was an absolute luxury to have on sight. The pub was closed inside due to Covid 19 but the pub was open outside for food and drinks. The outside area was lovely and there was a gorgeous Tipi available to sit in if the weather wasn't great (although we had amazing weather all weekend!) The food menu was very nice with a range of BBQ food and pizzas which were all cooked outside in the barn. It gave the place a really nice chilled festival vibe, especially with the good music! To top it all off, the staff were really friendly and accommodating - we were camping with no electricity and they kindly let us charge our phones overnight. I was also offered a cup of tea and bacon butty in the morning. I will definitely be returning again when they open indoors and I can try one of the famous roast dinners :) Thank you for making our weekend so enjoyable.

Popped over on Sunday 12th July to see how busy it was after the reopening.We were a bit anxious as locals to see how busy everywhere seemed to be but this place had it nailed. There was more than adequate distance between tables and space allowing for people walking past and the staff were really smiley and welcoming. We gave our details on entering the garden then found a table we were happy with. Ordering via the app was easy and the drinks were delivered efficiently, the waiter waiting whilst we took our own drinks off the tray that he placed on the end of the table. It was a lovely sunny day with music playing and people looking nice and relaxed. The marquee they have for bad weather looked lovely and overall we were really impressed with how they had set things out, making us relax and enjoy our drinks. Will definitely return

Amazing service from Sarah H, lovely warm welcome and very confident which eased our anxiety about the whole covid etc. The outside seating is beautiful and was totally warm enough in the teepee. First off I was totally put off by the fact I paid £2.80 for HALF a Diet Coke, honestly that is extremely overpriced considering half a thatchers was £2.10 and a J2o was £2.50. It wasn’t even half either due to it having ice also. My friends ordered the chicken loaded fries and they were AMAZING the portion was so so generous and they both said they tasted amazing, the loaded fries will be the reason we return and they definitely made up for the extreamly over priced drink.

Great service, great place and great food. Rates are good too. This old house is amazing to see (built in 1669). Atmosphere is great there with warmth of the fire and lovely music. We loved it!

The recent changes has bought a refreshing change to this restaurant. The place was warm and comfortable, busy but not uncomfortable; the staff are happy and welcoming and the food was delicious. We'd have no problem recommending this restaurant to anyone.

We visited here following s recommendation by a contact in Cornwall. We went for a simple light lunch and weren't disappointed. I understand this is under new management and they've made an excellent impression in a short space of time it seems. Excellent food, which appears simple but don't be fooled, there's a fine balancing act going on with the flavours here of all the dishes we had and were executed perfectly for me. We will return!

Spent a lunchtime today 26/02/20 in a lovely homely environment with friendly and welcoming staff the food was excellent with a lovely tasting coffee to finish. Would well recommend and will be definitely returning.

Great secret find. Country Pub in a nice building at the edge of a holiday park. There were three fires burning in various nooks and the rooms were all warm and lit by sunshine. The staff were superb. Fabulous food ranging from bar snacks, light meals and a full menu. Our meal took a little longer than usual as they were busy but we weren’t in a hurry. Despite this they offered us another round of drinks on the house for our wait. We will make this a definite one to revisit

Great tasting food well presented. Lovely starters, nice choices, table very well attended. Can't fault them.
