It's okay I guess. Seems on the expensive side.

Service was excellent, bread and sandwiches were very tasty

I visited here on Tuesday 12th December with my daughter in law and my baby Grandaughter. The service was fast and friendly. We had a toasted sandwich, cheese and onion pasty and a sausage roll, all were hot and delicious. They had a, highchair for Grandaughter, which was helpful. The atmosphere was pleasant and Christmassy.

If you get cream your large mocha will be half empty - basically a fiver for half a cup of coffee - pay more for less!

Beautiful cafe, incredible food. The staff are lovely and service is perfect. Despite being a cosy space the atmosphere is calm and inviting. Would travel again just to come here

Sorry to say very disappointed at this visit i go there regularly but scones was so stale even when heated but upside coffee is great

Very nice to stop of for a cappuccino

Ordered a pepperoni and cheese toastie, but cmon, you guys need to put some actual fillings in your toasties. I got a couple of thin pepperonis in there and an even thinner layer of cheese. For nearly six quid it was pretty rubbish.

Their lemon and coconut sponge cake is to die for!

Although a lovely bakery, the Cappuccino coffee was weaker than we would normally have elsewhere. The real downside for us was the outside terrace area which needs a good clean and weeding. The inside is beautifully kept, but as we had a small dog with us, this wasn't an option. This is our third visit and probably our last unless the terrace is swept and washed down. There is moss falling from the neighbouring property which was there the last time we visited.

Would have been better if the staff weren't apparently put out for bothering them. Never met such a group of unimpassioned impersonal teens in my life. Pathetic. Good apple danish though so yay for that.

I use the smaller of the two shops in town. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is always 100% The cheese rolls are huge for the price! Great value.

The only place in Hastings that knows how to make a flat white, great coffee, great food and really friendly staff.

Popped in on our shopping trip..handmade rolls and sandwiches are fabulous and huge. Very friendly staff and resonably priced..just wish it was a bigger place with more seating.

Everything from there is so tasty! Cheese straws are always a favourite for us.

Popped in for a sandwich, coffee & sweet treat. Bread was still warm and the filling more than generous! Would 100% recommend. Service with a smile too, makes all the difference.

Pleasant welcome as soon as you enter. The sandwiches are really something else and so fresh. As for the cakes.......what can I say lol. My personal favourite is the chocolate danish. Highly recommend this lovely bakery

I ordered a regular cheese and pepperoni toastie and felt I didn't get value for money as everyone else seemed to have doorstep bread and I got 2 crusts cobbled together. Come on 1066 you can do better than that, surely. I felt like I needed to order a premium toastie to get doorstep bread but then realised that premium just referred to the fillings and not the bread. How about adding a little salad garnish on the side of the plates? Very expensive for what it is. Wish I had seen what other people were eating at the time of delivery of the food and then I would have complained. 😡

Really disappointing vegan sausage roll. Half the size of the regular for a higher price. Not very good and soggy as they heat it in microwave and it sticks with paper

1066 is a disgusting place, especially the one in Bexhill, where the people are rough as the food. Do not bother going in there.

If you are expecting a decent sandwich I suggest you go somewhere else, a miserable thin slice of ham, one slice of cucumber and a sprinkling of lettuce is there idea of a ham salad sandwich. Won’t be back as there are so many decent places I would rather go there

You can’t beat a tuna sandwich from here, lovely soft bread and lots of filling, always friendly staff and great cappuccinos too.

I usually like this place but not today. Well overpriced and not the expected service. Ran our order through (didn't ask eat in or takeaway) and we paid, as they served the order it was wrapped to go, I said no sorry we want to eat it, so we had to wait for it to all be run through and pay the difference... fine. But £25 for 5 items, 2 coffees, a sandwich, salad bowl and sausage roll. I could understand if paying for quality but the sausage roll was no better than a greggs one but comes with triple the price. Could have gone for a decent pub lunch in the old town for less. Food was placed down and the server quickly turned away not even thinking to ask if we needed sugar or sauces etc.

Just to say thank you to the staff that came to our aid on Monday after grandson fell over his own feet and banged his head on chair. Thank you for being kind, packaging our lunch and off we dashed to A& E where he had 2 steristrips and some glue to hold it together. We’ll be back to sit down for the whole lunchtime next time👍👍

Had a nice lunch in here the food was good, the staff were very nice, and it's good value for money.

I came in for coffee and a Cornish pasty with a friend on the day of the 1066 bike run. The young staff are friendly, polite and served us quickly. It was a busy day, but the girls were very professional. A credit to the bakery.

Great food & friendly staff. Patient with indecisive members of my party. Fast service. Small seating area but very accommodating and above and beyond when a disabled man entered the establishment just after us.

Great food and drink, great presentation, service and food prices for the quality. Decor is good but a little worn in places and floor needs cleaning more regularly as crumbs everywhere in seating area. This could be an isolated incident though.

Ordered a takeaway hazelnut latte, peanut butter latte, chocolate Danish and an apple danish. They are amazing and much better value than the bigger brands.

Visited Hastings on Friday with my husband and our little pomeranian /yorkie Lily, called into 1066 Bakery. I asked if our little dog was allowed to sit outside with us. They said yes she'd be very welcome. They bought her a bowl of water. They made a fuss of Lily. Was a very welcoming place. The staff were lovely. Prices very good. Service excellent. Really enjoyed our visit. Will visit again. Thank you

Yummy bakery with great outdoor seating area away from the busy town, The service was fantastic and staff were all very friendly. We had the apple shush which was amazing. We enjoyed it so much that we went there for lunch the next day. The next day We had a sandwich, was a proper door step sandwich with yummy feelings. The sausage roll was delicious and huge. The Oreo milkshake was very nice and luckily far too large for my daughter meaning I got to share it. Will be returning next time we are in the are

Excellent products fresh and value for money. I had a table and ordered a Cornish Pasty, large coffee and a take out Belgian Bun (the last, I was lucky). All were delicious. The staff that morning were polite and efficient.

A well staffed bakery who are both efficient and very courteous. Not far from benches next to the sea, so bar your food and head off to the sea.

Popped in during a well deserved holiday. Having read previous reviews, needed to find out myself. The coffee shop has had a complete makeover and gone is the high table and stools. The girls serving were very polite and jovial during what must be a very trying time. PPE worn and tables cleaned. Cornish Pasty reasonable priced. Social distancing enforced. All in all well done

The food here is unbeatable! It is always presented well, it is delicious and you get very generous portions for the price. They make their sandwiches fresh to order or there are grab and go options if you're in a rush. When not in lockdown there is a lovely little seating area to the back which is cosy and warm. The staff are always friendly, bubbly and approachable. The store is always immaculate and they've made good use of such a small store. The food is displayed perfectly, you can see exactly what you're getting behind clean glass counters and the surrounding area is very hygienic and tidy. I'd strongly recommend grabbing a latte and a marmite cheese straw to enjoy on the beach!

Food excellent, service was tad slow could not give 5 stars due to this but never the less they bake exceptionally well.

Lovely home cooked savouries and pastries

Went to this bakery for my lunch, the one in hasting town centre, dissapointes by the service. The staff were so unengaging. No greeting, no smile, to be honest they looked completely uninterested. One girl looked like she didn’t want to be there. Surprised to see dirty tables as they only have a few, and were stood around doing nothing. Shame really, as their coffee is great, and tasty sausage rolls. Won’t be returning. Avoid.

Miserable staff - a smile to welcome customers inside would have gone a long way. Asked for a sausage roll. “None left” came the flat reply. We tried flapjacks instead which were like cardboard. Not much quality baking or indeed any baking whatsoever going on here. Avoid.

An amazing bakery, with very yummy food

I know it's not Cornwall but their Cornish pasties are fabulous! Perfect pastry and plentiful flavoursome filling, a real treat for the tastebuds. And the cranberry, bacon cheese straws are equally tasty. Really pleased we found this bakery while out for an exploratory stroll in Hastings.

Friendly staff. There was five of us. We all ordered different rolls. The coronation chicken was lovely.

I ordered a coronation chicken roll and it was just so spicy that I told a member of staff. She took it back and slathered a load of mayo on it which made it essentially a spicy mayonnaise mess. They kindly offered to replace it (which is why I'm giving them a 2) and I ordered a bacon roll. What I got was a nearly out of date roll (crumbly which a bit of a stale taste) and the sort of bacon you'd expect to get on a budget airline. I gave up and left. This is not a criticism of the staff, who were nice, just the food.

Firstly it was nice to sit in the garden in the sun. Shame about the food though! I'd asked for a cheese ploughman's. A dry cheese roll with cheese and salad arrived! When I queried this I was informed that everything was in the roll! My friend asked for a chicken mayo sandwich and was presented with the same dry cheese roll with ham in it aswell! This was despite there being 3 loaves of bread on the counter! Really poor . My friend threw hers away. Very large downstairs toilet always a bonus. Sorry i cant recommend.

By far the best coffee in Battle. Some of the staff are brilliant, particularly those that have been there a while. The pastries etc are very tummy
