The best restaurants serving Japanese food in London

I really wanted to like this place but the fish was terrible. The tuna was off! Seriously, a manky taste and slightly eggy smell. The one thing a sushi restaurant needs to get right… won’t go again.

Had an amazing evening for my 11 year old yesterday with Family and great service from Tamara for being able to accommodate us after we had one extra guest come and for Hamza who was an amazing server and guide to what was halal and what wasn't. The food was very good but it is the atmosphere and service thst make this an excellent place and a memory that will last for my children for many years to come. Thank you to Hamza and Tamara and the whole Benihana Team for a lovely night!

Fantastic Afternoon at Aqua Kyoto I visited Aqua Kyoto on a bright, sunny day and had a great experience at the bar. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with a good crowd that gave the place an energetic buzz without feeling overwhelming. The drinks were expertly crafted and really hit the spot — refreshing and well-balanced. What really stood out was the service. I was looked after by a waiter named Aakash, who was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right throughout my visit. His warm attitude and professionalism really added to the overall experience. Would definitely recommend Aqua Kyoto if you're looking for a stylish spot with great drinks and excellent service!

We had an incredible time at our sushi-making office social in the evening! The restaurant was fantastic, the sushi-making class was both fun and engaging, and our host and chef (Maki) was absolutely wonderful. It was a brilliant experience for everyone. Thank you so much for an unforgettable evening!

It's a pretty standard Itsu, selling all the usual Itsu Fayre. The location is handy and has decent seating inside. The Chicken Teriyaki is good, but I was a bit unimpressed to see the 'half portion' they served me up 👎 Not sure I'd return to this Branch in a hurry...🫤

Comforting authentic ramen with soft pork for £15. Also the Yuzu & Honey hot drink was DELICIOUS for £3. Lovely friendly staff.

Tasty but tiny portions, the amount of rice is ridiculously small. Quite overpriced.

Muy buen lugar para parar en Oxford Street para tomar una copa y ver el mundo pasar, bar man era una buena risa e hizo que el lugar se sintiera acogedor. Sentarse de lado o de pie en las mesas, sensación muy antigua para el pub que lo hizo aún más interesante para beber.

Beautiful presentation and elegant flavors. The customer service was excellent staff were polite and attentive. However, for £130 per person for the Wagyu bento box, I expected to feel more satisfied. Unfortunately, I left still feeling hungry. While the overall experience was pleasant, the portion size didn’t quite justify the price. A bit more substance would have made it truly worth it.

Good Japanese food at very very modest prices with very attentive staff. Always my go to for Japanese food. And when I'm particularly ravenous, the all you can eat buffet is incredible for the price.
