Tasty but tiny portions, the amount of rice is ridiculously small. Quite overpriced.

Worst experience today when the cashier did not let a friend of mine use her student discount literally right after ordering... the reason the cashier gave was that she said it too late, but literally saying that she's a student after placing her order surely is quick enough? if you don't like students then don't advertise the discount... sheesh

Came across this hidden gem by accident but could smell how amazing it was. Was very tasty and very good service. Beautiful aesthetic

OK the food IS good here; but it's a little overpriced (for the quantity) and I've fallen victim to the chicken gyoza scam at least twice (if you order the 6pcs make sure you check the box before you leave the restaurant!!) Other than that, a nice place to treat yourself every once in a while. If the price was a bit lower I'd go here for lunch most days. Decent selection of Japanese dishes and ever-changing specials (with the occasional Korean gatecrasher) so there is always something new.

Best katsu curry in town! Homemade, always different specials. I love that place in the middle of the city hub!

The dish I had (pad Thai tofu) was good but the quantity-price ratio was bad: the small box I got cost me £9. For a place where you have lunch "on the go", I found it too expensive and so I don't think I'll go back.

Pad Thai was average at best, £9 is bit of a rip-off considering how small it was too.

this place is better described as Asian cuisine place instead of Japanese + : the Korean sweet and sour chicken (Yangnyeom-tongdak) is good and the staff lovely - : quantity/price ratio a bit high / not many sittings / opening times are a bit random

This is one of my favourite places to have lunch in. It is run by a family, the food changes every week and is always very fresh. The staff is very friendly and very well priced.

Made the mistake of ordering pad thai after realising this is a japanese cafe/ restaurant. Half the ingredients missing and very bland. You should really take this off the menu.

Expensive for what it is and very mediocre food. Pad Thai was simply rice noodle mixed in chilly sauce which is not even close to pad Thai sauce, without stir frying with vegs and eggs etc. Seems like they are just doing a brunch of popular food but not properly done

I went to pick up my prawn katsu curry with rice. Small portion and pricey but very tasty. Big queues but moves fast. Worth trying if you are in the area.

I had the chicken ramen as a takeaway. Tasted quite bland. Chicken was a bit dry as well.

I absolutely love this small restaurant the sushi is fresh and delicious katsu curry has flavour. The staff are friendly and good prices for the area it's a 5 STAR MUST TRY!!!!

Wow this place is overpriced! Food was ok, nothing special. Long que so popular at lunchtime if you were looking for something other than sandwiches! No need to go back!

I ordered chicken Katsu takeaway. It was expensive but I’m happy to pay good money for good tonkatsu. Unfortunately it came with a drip of tonkatsu sauce and piles of mayonnaise (which I cannot eat). I took it back, thinking it must have been a mistake - tonkatsu doesn’t ordinarily come with mayonnaise. I was told that’s how it came and no explanation as to why this wasn’t included on the menu. No apology was forthcoming and they reluctantly gave me another one without mayonnaise. Sadly still only a drip of tonkatsu sauce. An expensive lunch of poor quality and poor service.

The food at Aiko was good, but the thought that everyone coming there for lunch would be throwing containers and cutlery into the bin has put me off from coming back. We cannot continue consuming and producing waste like this, we all need to take responsibility and make changes. Please Aiko consider how best you can avoid using these materials as part of your business.

Small restaurant in the middle of Chancery Lane, seems to do well with the white working population around the area. I think I haven't had a blandest ramen than the chicken ramen I just bought here. The "chicken" broth tasted like soy and nothing more. Toppings were a few soy sprouts, 2 baby pak choi, half an egg and a plain chicken breast. Boring food for £8.50

Amazing chicken katsu - the curry sauce was sublime.

This place is superb, never disappoints. Few upstairs benches to perch at or some 2-4 seater tables downstairs. Great flavours, portion size big enough for a lunch time dish. It's not the cheapest Vietnamese in town, but the quality sets it apart from mass produced slop you get down the road.

This is my favourite place to lunch in town. Given all of the never ending chain produced food around, this is a real gem to find in Holborn area. Family run, the special changes every week. The sushi are so fresh and not pasty or hard like in Wasabi or Itsu.

I am really impressed by the quality of the food, especially the Chicken Katsu Kare which is my favourite hot meal without hesitation. Nice staff as well. I recommend for anyone who likes eating asian food.

Paid some extra money to eat in restaurant and expected for a regular lunch: or at least a bowl of hot and tempting ramen? but turned out I received a take away style of ramen. So disappointed of its presentation: paper bowl and disposable chopsticks. But to be honest their terrayaki chicken was quite nice. Ramen was just average. Maybe better to get take away next time.

Wow, I don’t get the other reviews. Mediocre at best. The ‘ramen’ was not ramen—a more-or-less tasteless broth with some over-cooked noodles from a box, and a few little pieces of chicken in a paper bowl. Worst ramen I’ve had in London (which has some decent ramen spots). The sushi looked unappetizing, not fresh, not even on the level of any of the other mediocre sushi chains around. I need a second lunch after that. £8 lost. Another bland London fast food lunch spot. There are oh so many ...

Love the soba noodles and salmon! Also the katsu curry. A great lunchtime favourite.

Excellent location on Chancery Lane; brilliant, fresh and well-portioned food at reasonable prices all round. The seating area downstairs is utilitarian and plain but comfortable, and always well-refreshed with a jug of water and cleaned regularly.

Excellent home style Japanese cooking, reasonable price, with a small menu of staples.

Despite only working around the corner, I have not noticed this place, probably due to all the scaffolding. Lunch time takeaway menu is limited if you're a pescatarian, only saw two options on the hanging boards but I must say I was really pleased with my food, the noodles were delicious. A deeper spoon to catch the soup and a tad more spicy and it would have been perfect. Will definitely come back and try some sushi or some of the fusion food other reviews have mentioned

These guys are a lunchtime favourite of mine. Their hot food is tastier than chains like Itsu and Wasabi. For example, I like the teriyaki and the sauce isn't too sweet, plenty of meat/fish and they include a small portion of seasonal vegetables with it. Overall, very tasty, decent portion and good price.

I work near by and get take away for lunch here every week. The quality is amazing, it is fresh and home made and cheap - great value. The staff is so lovely as well, if you are in the area and looking for a quick lunch, I would definitely recommend this place!

This place was empty - we went anyway - food was ridiculously good and they were so gracious - added free Japanese whiskey for no reason. Will be back as soon as I'm in London next.

The food is exceptionally good and keeps me coming for more. However, the service is disappointing. The lady at the till keeps taking orders although there is a massive queue of people waiting for their food. She seems to put a lot of pressure on the kitchen team and she makes customers wait for ages without ever apologising. Whenever I go there I spend most of my lunch break just waiting for the food.

A friend and I went here for lunch last week. The food was good but the service was bad. It seemed like the waitress was just there helping out but it wasn't her usual job so she didn't know what she was doing. When we ordered she took our cutlery and chop sticks away and only brought them back when we asked for some to eat our meal with and then it was only cutlery as if we couldn't possibly manage chopsticks as we were westerners. We had to ask for the accompanying soup and salad which was meant to come with our meal but we eventually got at the end. Hopefully we just caught them on a bad day so will probably give it another go sometime as it is very close to my office.

Small, cosy and friendly Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant. The food is fresh, well prepared, very carefully presented and served (in the best Japanese tradition). Some of the fusion dishes are quite interesting and original; however be warned: the menu is relatively short and especially the fish variety is very limited (even if of excellent freshness and quality). For lunch or for an occasional, different take on a Japanese-feeling meal, it's an excellent place; for traditional Japanese eating I'd choose somewhere else.

This is a really nice place were the food is of great quality. It was delicious! The owners are very kind and helpful and they speak French as well. We will come back for sure!

sushi and the rest of fish was incredibly fresh and tasty....then i ate the filet and was something amazing ...it woke up all my tastebuds at the first bite...you have to eat it very slowly because then you scare that it could end.... definetely raccomended

Walked in before opening to hear ACDC playing and was told it was prep music! Being an Aussie and hearing it was awesome. Came back at correct time and was blown away by service and food. Clean fresh tasty Japanese fusion food. I totally recommend this little restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine food.

Had lunch here on Christmas Eve and the food was amazing. We had a mixture of Sushi and the Katsu curry, both of which were great. Will definitely eat here again.

Tropezamos en el lugar por casualidad para cenar y no saber qué pensar en un fusión italiana japonés. Bueno, puedo decir que tuvimos suerte! La comida fue exquisita. Teníamos el risotto con trufas (con trufas reales en que!!!) y el culata. Ambos eran muy sabroso, y por un precio muy decente.

Mi primera vez en este restaurante y me quedé asombrado por el servicio que proporcionaba. Los camareros (Aewia y Stefano creo) tenía conocimiento excepcional de los campos, estaban sirviendo y eso fue complementado con las opciones de vino que nos recomendaron para nosotros. Cada plato era ligero, tierna y como ningún otro sushi platos que he visto. El ambiente era relajado y sin embargo vibrante al mismo tiempo. No le puedo tarifa este restaurante lo suficiente. La única cuestión que yo estoy preguntando es por qué estoy no comer allí cada noche!

El menú sushi es enorme y aunque teníamos otras opciones nos quedamos muy satisfechos con nuestra orden. Era tan fresca, se funde en la boca, para morirse fresco! La comida era excelente y el servicio era genial. Muy bien de precio comparado con los precios por el centro.

Petite carte en quantité, gage de la qualité que vous trouverez dans votre assiette. Nous avons testé 'crudo taï' qui est un carpaccio de daurade aux saveurs épicées ; sashimi ; les makis fusion avec une crème d'avocat et de la maillonnaise épicée ; des pâtes aux oeufs de rougets séchés et aux algues wakame frites... dessert chocolat gingembre... pour les enfants : un plat sur mesure de saumon et riz. Un excellent moment culinaire où se marient italie et japon. Deux types extra aux commandes, parlant aussi le français et prêt à partager leurs expériences. La notre fut merveilleuse, et nous vous la recommandons :-)

Beautiful discovery for this cosy Japanese Italian restaurant on Chancery Lane. We had traditional bento ( sushi sashimi) and a seared Tuna salad, £11 and £9. The food was super fresh and absolutely delicious ! We 'll definitely be back to try more fusion for dinner...

Estábamos paseando por Strand y tropezamos Aiko. El ambiente íntimo y el menú deliciosas, así que decidí probarlo. El magnífico servicio de Stefano que se aseguraba que probamos el mejor el menú tenía que ofrecer, como la ternera de Robata pinchos con queso Scamorza, el risotto con sake y trufa fue una locura como el filete de ternera que tuve para la principal, que estaba cocinado a la perfección. No te confundas, éste no es ramen fideos estilo fusión boloñesa. Esto es mucho más sutiles y sofisticados. Precio muy razonable. No me sorprende que empacar en el almuerzo! Volveremos! Štefánik G

Un amigo me dijo acerca de este nuevo lugar en carril Cancillería. . /italiano japonés del restaurante fusión Aiko! Tienes que probar para creer. Los sashimis son como en Japón, y el sashimi con la mozzarella, sólo una bomba! Incluso el kare de Katsu es casera, realmente increíble!

Una cena tarde aquí fue muy agradable. El pescado fresco (en contraste con muchos "sushi" lugares en Londres) y la presentación era muy bueno. Para Londres, me sentí los precios estaban en consonancia con la calidad de la comida.

Se acabó eso de que "en Inglaterra no se come bien". En Aiko Restaurant se sirve una excelente comida (es una fusión fascinante y realmente bien ejecutada). El espacio te acoge en un ambiente cálido y a la vez "clean", que invita a disfrutar la experiencia. Y un diez para el staff, que domina su profesión, sabe guiarte si lo necesitas (con la carta de vinos han hecho una selección magnífica!), y son tan majos que sencillamente te los llevaríasa casa ;) Chapeau! Hay que volver!

Hey, also ich kann euch dieses Restaurante nur empfehlen, die Stimmung ist eins a und der Service sehr aufmerksam und herzlich. Ich war mit einer größeren Gruppe von Freunden da und bei Kerzenschein, gab es die abgefahrendes Leckereien. Als Vorspeise gab es Fisch und Fleich auf Spießen mit einer herrlichen Sauße, der Mix war Wahnsinn. Zusammen haben wir, dann einen Sushimix probiert und es war wiklich köstlich. Doch am meisten hat mir der Tofu Cheescake gefallen, gerade für lactose-nicht-freunde, wie mich, einfach gut. Sau lecker. Ich kann es nur empfehlen und hoffe ihr habt auch so eine tolle Erfahrung wie ich. Japanese-italien Fusion!

All I can say is they have this nailed. Unique food attentive and amazing staff. Should be a success all the way without a doubt. I would definitely go there again

Este es un nuevo restaurante. El personal es muy atento y amable. La comida es una mezcla de Dios de italiano y japonés. Tuve la ensalada de pollo con una gran combinación de ingredientes y mi amigo una Benoît? fuerte que estaba muy bien presentado. Los dos postres. eran muy sabrosos.
