A wonderful experience with our Sushi and Sashimi class. Maki is an incredibly interesting and inspirational woman who also happens to be great at teaching sushi skills! A highly enjoyable class that I would thoroughly recommend!!

Food is ok , but unfortunately it does still smell very strongly the fry food . Stays in your cloth . Please do something about it 🙏🏻

The food is BUSSIN🗣️‼️‼️‼️🗣️‼️‼️ (Nah for real though this food slaps you should definitely come here if you’re looking for good food) The head chef and waiters give excellent service and are incredibly friendly. Definitely returning.

The curry was a bit salty and the amount of rice was large enough to serve two people. Still, curry rice bowl with crispy shrimp. Miso miso soup. I enjoyed two pieces of eel sushi. Prices in London are expensive, so just eating this much costs almost 50,000 won.

We have been for a Gyoza Masterclass. Amazing Experience! Makiko, the Chef, is a lovely teacher, fully prepared and we enjoyed so much. We Will book the Sushi Masterclass soon! Highly reccomended.

Came here for the Sushi making class this evening and had the best time! Makiko was such an engaging teacher and we learnt so much! The sushi was so fresh and tasted amazing and there was so much of it we had to take some home - she's obviously an incredible sushi chef and is so knowledgeable! Participated in the Sushi Making class. Makiko is friendly, supportive and knowledgeable about all things sushi and Japanese cuisine. It was good to hear her story and career in the sushi world. She shared lots of helpful tips. We were able to make multiple different types of sushi with plenty to try! Would definitely recommend for couples.

Delicious Japanese food in Hammersmith is right here! My salmon dish was fresh and cut very well. My dining partner's chicken katsu was also exceptional. Waiter was very attentive making it a great lunch experience all round. Will be my usual from here on out!

Came here for lunch with friends and we were blown away by the quality and flavour of the food! Highly recommend visiting this family owned restaurant run by chef Maki who makes sure your experience is only the best. Don’t pass on the prawn tempura and the seaweed salad- delicious!!

Guys, this place is very good. It’s very reasonably priced too. The Katsu chicken curry was perfect and there’s a great selection of sushi. Free refills on your green or jasmine tea.

Visited this place with my 13 year old son for a sushi class. Makiko was an amazing teacher, very patient and knowledgeable. We made 4 types of sushi and we were taught how to make it and eat it the Japanese way. Would definitely recommend.

I held my daughter's 10th birthday party here a few days ago. Makiko (the sushi chef) taught 14 girls how to make 3 different types of sushi - she was extremely professional and very engaging. All the girls had an amazing time and my daughter said it was her "best birthday party" ever. Thank you so much. I would highly recommend the sushi making classes.

One of the best evenings in London - such an amazing sushi-making class! Makiko is incredible - she has an amazing story, is funny and extremely skilled and knowledgeable. The experience was relaxing and fun, as well as very authentic. The sushi was also amazing - so tasty! My partner has lived in Japan and the class made him feel like he was back there! I can’t wait to come back and try Makiko’s other classes!

We took a dumpling class and two sushi classes here. The teacher is excellent and extremely knowledgeable. At the end of the course we got to eat all we made and it was always enough to get your fill.

Authentic experience with a great teacher

I booked a sushi making class for my family and myself as a Christmas present and it turned out to be the best possible choice. Makiko is brilliant and well trained in the art of sushi making, and her life story from the academy in Japan to restaurants in London was fascinating. It was merely £35 per person for the 2 hour class which was cheaper than most alternatives yet was as authentic as it gets. Would highly recommend. She accommodated my vegan sister very well too.

We went for a cooking class with my husband and children and we all loved it. It was the highlight of this Christmas break. It beats panto for us! We are big fans of Japanese cuisine and we were looking forward to learning about how to improve our techniques as we love to make sushis at home. Makiko is an extraordinary person, her patience and extended knowledge as a sushi chef makes for a great experience. And the makis/temaki/sushis were all delicious of course and there were loads to eat! Makiko even adapted the course to the one veggie person with very lovely ingredients. I would greatly recommend to al!

Visited Suzu House for the first time today and I got the california roll and salmon nigiri. The roll had good flavour and the nigiri was really fresh with a generous serving of salmon. I liked the food and will come here again but I wouldn’t rate this restaurant as one of best places for sushi.

I just had the beginner sushi class today. My boyfriend and I absolutely enjoyed it. I will definitely be going back for other classes, as well as to eat at the restaurant.

Best sushi I’ve had in London, the quality of the fish is unlike anywhere else I’ve been. We were also lucky enough to go to one of their sushi classes before lockdown too which was fab, and we were very excited for it to reopen. I am marking down two stars as I’ve tried to communicate with the restaurant via their website and email on multiple occasions to see if they will be bringing back the classes but never had a response. Also ordered some of the delicious pickled ginger from their website that never arrived and my order was never acknowledged. I tried calling multiple times to get my money back but was always told they were busy. Had to raise a case with PayPal to get a refund in the end… So great for food but otherwise poor service and organisation. Order through Deliveroo or in person.

Suzu House is under management of the founder Makiko again and I went for lunch as her menu has some of my favourites on it. I had the most delicious Chicken Karage, an original recipe, newly improved. It was like eating large bits of chicken popcorn. Crispy on the outside and succulent tender chicken on the inside. Absolutely perfect!

I had recently passed my exam in aromatherapy and took my exam subject to this restaurant to celebrate and to say thank you to my exam client. I had chosen this restaurant as we happened to be in Hammersmith. I love sushi and the food and the customer service was exceptional. The woman who served us was very welcoming and always served with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Made the whole experience very enjoyable. I would happily recommend this place for top quality food and service.

I’m so happy I discovered this place! After being a fan of atariya, I spotted that this place on deliveroo and that it has partnered, I had to try it as I have never been in catchment of the other chains. After my first takeaway order from here, I have been hooked. The quality of the fish meets with restaurants I’ve eaten at before, but at takeaway prices! My regular order is: salmon set, mid fatty tuna nigiri, spicy tuna maki, o toro and spring onion rolls. This is a proper sushi restaurant, you need to try.

Makiko put on a wonderful evening for us that can only be decribed as very special. She was generous with her time and I felt honoured to be in front of the only Female Sushi Chef that had been to the academy in Japan. I could not reccomend highly enough an evening making, understanding the history, and eating proper sushi!

I went for an evening sushi making class, I bought this class as a gift for my boyfriend and we both loved it. As a vegan I was worried that I wouldn't be able to try my creations but there was fantastic options, everyone is included and can get involved- perfect sized class and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! I’ve completed the 2-hour sushi class and I can not recommend it enough! Makiko’s passion for both sushi and teaching is contagious and I was very impressed with her level of knowledge, which she was able to share in a really simple and easy way. All the ingredients are of really excellent quality and most straight from Japan, so you’ll definitely get a genuine experience (we had real wasabi and not green-dyed horseradish and the ginger is to die for!). Although I’m vegan, the class was easily adapted to my dietary requerimentos and I was able to learn how to make (and eat) really delicious vegan sushi! I can not recommend this enough and I will definitely be attending the other classes!

My wife and I enjoyed a group sushi making class at Suzu House this February. It was not only informative, but the sushi was delicious and our teacher was quite funny. We would highly recommend and will be attending again in the future!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed learning the art of making sushi from Mrs. Sano. It was both informative and tasty and she is quite a character. I would definitely recommend if you are interested in trying to learn the craft. We will definitely be inviting some friends over for a sushi night some time soon!

Makiko is an amazing teacher, this sushi making class was unbelievable. Great value for money and extremely entertaining. And you get to eat so much delicious sushi! Couldn't recommend this enough :)

We had an amazing evening at Makiko's place and learned a lot about Sushi and Japanese culture. This cooking class is highly recommendable and you will get lots of Sushi to eat. Honestly, 30 Pounds / Person is actually too cheap for what you get: just the amount of Sushi you'll eat would be more expensive at other places. I do not only highly recommend this class for all Sushi-lovers out there, but will also go to all the other classes which Makiko will offer during 2020 myself.

We have been to two fantastic cooking classes - sushi and dumpling makings. They were both great value, informative and a fun way of spending some time with my family. We'll be back for more!

Had the best time here yesterday, Makiko is so skilled and great at explaining in an interesting and funny way. Nice that the class was quite small (maybe 6 or 7 couples) which meant she had the time to come and see how you were doing, give you advice etc. Sushi was delicious, loved all the extra info about Japanese / sushi-related culture too. Would love to do one of her other classes once she starts doing them!

I attended the sushi making class with my girlfriend and it was a great experience. Suzu is a very good teacher and you will learn how to make 4 different kind of sushi. We could eat the sushi we made and the fish was amazing, by far the best sushi I ever had. I also appreciated the hints about how to cook the rice and what kind of fish to buy to do a good sushi at home.

We’ve been here to attend a sushi class. The class was fab, Makiko Sano has been entertaining, fun and strict enough. It was the best sushi I’ve ever tried and I definitely want to prepare it at home now! I recommend it!

This is no longer a restaurant! They do sushi-making classes only -- which I'm sure are great, but which are no use if you're actually planning to eat there. We were intending to head there after an event in Hammersmith this weekend and found them closing up; this seemed a bit odd for 6pm on a Saturday so we asked what was going on and they explained. Great loss :(

We attended a 2-hour sushi class and really enjoyed the experience. Makiko provides a wealth of knowledge and experience in a relaxed and fun environment. Plus, the sushi we got to make was really good! Definitely recommended.

I've now attended a couple of Makiko's classes - one in sushi making and also the knife sharpening one. Both were really informative and useful and as with all the best teachers, Makiko has the ability to break down a skill so that anyone can understand it - and likewise with all great masters she makes the difficult look effortless. I intend to attend the katsu & ramen classes in future as well. Can't wait ! No hesitation from me to award 5 stars.

I attended a sushi making class with Makiko this week. Cannot recommend her enough. Class was hands on and practical. Makiko was a great teacher - very fun and approachable, with a wealth of knowledge for an aspiring Japanese cook! Such a fun class, I think I will be attending another soon!

I went along to a sushi making class with my husband and four boys, the youngest being five years old and I honestly say we all enjoyed the class so much. We learnt to make four different types of sushi but the information that Makiko gave us was very informative and interesting. This class was very diverse as it appealed to all age groups and it was a great way for our family to spend time together and yet learn a new skill that we could improve on at home. I can’t recommend this class enough and am looking to book another of the many different types of classes that Makiko offers.

I have been going to Suzu at lease once or twice weekly for the last 10 years without failing, and I always crave that very authentic Japanese food that Makiko cooks so wonderfully.

Food is very mediocre. Noodles are over cooked. Beer not chilled. Some sake comes with extreme warm which wasn't written on drink menu. Also overpriced.

Had the most wonderful sushi class today, we haven’t stopped talking about it since! Makiko is fabulous, so interesting and entertaining. We learnt loads and had lots of laughs along the way. Aprendí a hacer cuatro tipos diferentes de sushi y, aunque no fue tan fácil como se podría pensar, al menos puedo practicar con la base en la que se pensaba hoy. . Un pequeño consejo. . Creo que debería haber media hora entre una clase y la siguiente. . Para cuando mi clase terminó, (un poco tarde), el siguiente grupo de personas estaba esperando afuera, y la experiencia fue un poco apresurada. Dos horas bien gastadas, y con suerte otras clases están disponibles. . . Para poder aprender a cocinar albóndigas y otros platos japoneses. . En general, creo que fue un valor brillante y realmente lo recomendaría a cualquiera que le guste cocinar. ! Las fotos de abajo son de los sushis que aprendí a hacer hoy! !

The food is good, but they only employ 1 employee for cashier, seating, serving, and cleaning. It took us almost an hour till the food came out. My friends who were ordering to go, were also had to wait almost an hour.

I recently attended a sushi making class and had a fantastic experience. Makiko was a wonderful teacher who showed us how to make 4 types of sushi in an easy-to-understand, step by step manner. I also learnt so much about Japanese culture, food and finally learnt how to use chopsticks correctly! Excellent value for money - I highly recommend this class.

I went with a friend today for a sushi class.What a fantástic experience.The teacher was very friendly and very informative.
