We had an incredible night at this restaurant! All thanks to our amazing waiter Daniela and the talented head chef. Daniela provided outstanding service, taking the time to explain the menu in detail and offering fantastic recommendations that made our experience and Anniversary truly special. Their kindness and warm hospitality made us feel so welcome. And the chef, just wow! He put on an incredible show, making the dining experience even more unforgettable. Every moment spent here was perfect, and we can’t wait to come back soon!

My first experience at a Japanese restaurant, and it was absolutely out of this world! Benihana made a lasting impression on me. Watching the chef cook right in front of me was something I had always looked forward to, and it did not disappoint. Chef Jamie was incredibly skilled and experienced, making the entire dining experience both interactive and entertaining. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere added to the overall charm. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and exciting Japanese dining experience!

A Taste of Japan with a Side of Entertainment - My family and I recently enjoyed a delightful evening at this Japanese restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. While it's not an everyday kind of place due to the price point, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit for a special occasion or a unique dining experience. We'll certainly be back!

Went for my little one’s birthday. In the earlier sittings, there are a lot of kids. Food is delicious and the performance fun.

They make you watch ads to connect to the WiFi! This is the cheapest, most pathetic thing I have ever seen a restaurant do.

Came for a friend's birthday dinner. We were served by Hamza. He was polite, attentive and definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The chef was full of energy, and had us all laughing. One negative is that food was not shared out equally, I noticed that my friends were given larger portions. The food was good........(as part of a set menu) I had onion soup, a bowl of salad with a ginger dressing, Benihana style fried veg, tiger prawns, white rice and chicken teriyaki The Main Tai cocktail was ok, but for the price it could have been stronger.

It was a nice experience all together but if you take out the impressive juggling skills and charisma of the chef, food was pretty average. Two round slices of courgettes and a piece of grilled onion as a starter is a very cheap shot if you ask me. Also we all agreed that the teriyaki chicken was rather dry and that the chef was pretty bad at portioning up the grilled prawns, so my girlfriend and I were left with only 4 pieces each when he gave everyone else at least 6 right before our eyes. Would have been nice if he had acknowledged his mistake and we would’ve just laughed about it but he was clearly hoping we wouldn’t notice… not cool. On the bright side the egg fried rice was tasty and the grilled salmon was delicious. Loved the glass of bubbly at the start and the truly banging Old Fashioned at the end.

Amazing service at Benihana today for my husbands celebration was a little apprehensive about the choice of restaurant as we have a 19month old but the staff really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed the experience and they where all attentive to the little one ! Special thanks to Kush for the great table service ! We will definitely be back again !

Took my wife, my stepson and his girlfriend to the Chelsea restaurant for a meal before going to the theatre. It was utterly amazing and the food was first-class. The waiting staff (Daniella, I think) was fantastic and our chef made cooking a joy to watch and a great treat. Highly recommended.

The staff didn’t care. The food was basic. The black cod was not black cod. It was a few pieces of cod with a miso sauce on top and £50! The staff insisted that it was. We’ve eaten black cod in numerous Japanese restaurants, this certainly wasn’t. Won’t be recommending or visiting again!

As usual, food is great great laugh experience chefs very accommodating to peoples needs bringing in people I’ve never been and had a Teppanyaki experience The only negative was I don’t think the smoke extractor was working properly. It got very smoky which I over the years and I’ve been going for over 1520 years at different establishments. It got very smoky

Once you have found the very discrete entrance to Benihana, be warned, there are 32 steps down to the restaurant (and 32 back up). There is a small cloakroom halfway down the stairs (by reception). As we were a bit early, we had the suggested coffee which was not very hot, fortunately because we were suddenly called in to the main restaurant. We were placed at the end of an 8 seater table, one side left clear for the chef, and with a couple seated at the far end; a slightly awkward arrangement since we were facing each other, too far away to converse but near enough to have to avoid each other’s gaze. Service began quite promptly with some small starters cooked on the hot plate in front of us in an interesting way, including making a “volcano” in onion rings when an adjacent table were singing happy birthday. Having had our soup, the rice, salmon and chicken quickly followed and the whole thing was over in an hour. As the chef has to go to the next table, you cannot really take a break between courses for this particular offering. I understand part of the attraction is the presentation which was fun in parts but it not that out of the ordinary. The food was perfectly ordinary too and the cocktails, although interesting looking, did not make you feel like ordering a second one. The lounge area is large and a big screen shows the names of people (presumably guests) who have birthdays or other celebrations that day. The adjacent toilets appeared to be well maintained. Glad we tried it but we won’t be back.

Had a really good time for a 50th birthday with the family. The chef was great and very entertaining, food was all delicious service was excellent. Great place for families as the children really enjoyed all the tricks and skills of the chef. We spent quite a bit with drinks as it was a special occasion but their are a lot of more reasonable options.

Staff here are wonderful. Atmosphere is great as well as food and drinks. I love the little celebratory messages they put on the screen.

a very entertaining place, chefs are trained to entertain all guests of varied ages and it’s amazing how they do so - very adaptable. the portion sizes are very good, it does seem like a hefty price you’re paying when you see the menu, but when you take the entertainment and amount of food you get, it’s very much worth it. the only reason it’s not 5/5 is the service, quite slow, we had empty glasses that were removed but no offer for another drink was made, when wanting the drinks menu no one was around for us to ask so we left it (even though it was 7pm on saturday), the water we got had black bits floating around… if it wasn’t for the food and entertainment, it would be a lower score.

I had such a good time celebrating my birthday at Benihana. I had the private room with 11 guests which was easy to book. They took our pre orders which made the day much easier. Unfortunately I was running extremely late but the hosts and waiters at Benihana were sooo accommodating and kind to my guests while they waited and insisted they could wait for me to begin the food. The food was amazing as per usual. The cooking show could’ve been better but he was cooking for 12 people which is a big job. overall a 5/5 experience and will definitely be back.

We went for my 5th year anniversary and mom’s birthday. The ambience was good . Food was delicious .thoroughly enjoyed hibachi style of entertaining us and preparing our food.Definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends!!! Our chef Balam was really great and cracked jokes along with the egg. Had a great time.

We had a chef called Jo Jo cooking for us, we were 7 people but me and another guest did not eat some siders at all, not sure if the chef forgot about us or they didn't have enough food. On top of that, the chef gave half of my tuna steak to another guest and I do not think this is appropriate as he didn't ask me first, and he already didn't give me other siders that other guests had, indeed I ended up being still hungry afterwards. The price was way too high for the food we had.

Benihana provides a different experience which makes a change in the usual experience, food was okay but with the competition out there, you can definitely find better food for the value of your money but the chef engagement did boost the score

Was a mildly enjoyable evening with cooking happening at the table but not very authentic Japanese. The chef Jojo I think forgot about two of our diners and gave them far less food than others. He even gave half of one guests main to another guest without asking which wasn't appreciated. Too expensive for the food provided.

Great place, amazing chef with superb juggling skills. The food was great, the only negative being no vegetarian or vegan option on the set voucher menu.

The best part of having teppanyaki is usually watching the chefs perform their cooking skills, but this time was a huge disappointment. The chef simply skewered all the food, dumped it onto our plates, and left. The taste was terrible. I asked for medium-rare steak, but they gave me a well-done one. I wanted the scallops fully cooked, but they served them half-cooked. It was so disappointing and overpriced.

I have been here before, however my mum and Aunty had not. They were absolutely blown away by the service the atmosphere and how child friendly the restaurant. I cannot fault one thing with our meal yesterday. Our chef Balam executed everything perfectly and we want to thank him so much. Kwamen voor simpel te eten, werden zonder te vragen aan de teppanyaki tafel gezet. Vervolgens wilde wij wat sushi bestellen moesten we terug naar de lobby om daar maar te gaan eten... De sushi was prima, maar echt niet meer dan twee sterren waard.. big franchise problems, als nummeetje behandeld.

We had a wonderful experience at Benihana Chelsea. It was my dad's birthday. We were greeted immediately by welcoming staff whilst we waited to be seated. The highlight of it is when the chef came to our table and started cooking. Our chef (Jamie) is hilarious and very welcoming. He performed his culinary tricks with ease and made our meal very tasty and delicious. It was a wonderful day for my family. Highly recommended for family gathering and occasion. Kids will surely love it.

This place used to be my favourite. But it’s so run down now and the extraction fans don’t work. The restaurant gets full of smoke. Its staff don’t care, I waited at my table for 20 mins for drink. The chefs don’t really put on a show anymore, they just go through the motions. As I say the worse is the air inside from all the smoke, if the fans work they are rubbish. Plus it smells of cooking fat as soon as you walk in. Such a shame.

The food is fresh, the chef is very humorous, The children enjoyed his performance very much and will come again next time.

Came here on a date with my partner. We ordered a set meal and some items from their special promotion menu including wagyu, lobster, cod and scallops. The wagyu and cod were good but lobster and scallops tasted fishy and not fresh. The bill came to £200 for the 2 of us, at the end of the meal we gave feedback to our waiter (Hamza if I heard correctly) that the lobster and scallop were not fresh and he responded “all seafood in this country needs to be frozen by law before they are cooked so it will never taste fresh.” This attitude was very disappointing and also quite ridiculous. I also don’t know why he felt needed to mention “in this country”, I’m actually British.

We go here often, also had there delivery which is also amazing! The food is always so nice we always get the steak and prawns and the sauce that comes with them is delicious, lunch and dinner in these are both good. Been here date nights and as family and friends always good and it’s good to watch them cook they do funny things for the kids

The Food is cook in front of you and to your specifications and tailored to your individual tastes! Better in group formation and with reasons to celebrate (you can special request a welcome message for your guest upon entering and it will be up on the big screen all night) this venue is more of a whole dining experience rather than a just a night out at the restaurant type situation. The staff are very attentive and fully explain how it works and what to do when your personal Chef Comes out to perform his culinary magic with skilled perfection and light entertaining banter!! This is an amazing place to go to celebrate life, birthdays, any kind of welcome or leaving do/party and just a nice place to go eat with friends and family or colleagues!

The wagyu steak was the best thing on the menu, the black cod was the second best. The 25ppp set course meal was great value and decent portion and quality food. Our chef was sweet and fun, not a crazy showman but all was well. The only normal comment is that their fans are not strong enough to suck the frying smells and air quickly so expect your clothes to smell after this. Great for a date night, with family or friends. They can bring desert with a candle if you are doing any celebrations. The experience start to finish takes about 40 minutes. After that, you take your time to enjoy the meal. ++++ their old fashioned was really good!

The food is good, however you go to this place mainly for the unique atmosphere and the performance of the chefs, which is really fun and engaging. After the experience, there may be a slight smoky smell left, but it's still worth it for the entertainment and ambience. An excellent choice for a different and original evening! We took the 25 pound menu which included starter, vegetables and second course, drinks are paid separately.

The food was amazing as well as the experience however there is a serious issue with the ventilation and the amount of smoke indoor. After leaving the place you stink from the amount of smoke. Other than that it’s always a good experience the kids love.

Indian chef didn't do butter chicken also when you hire Philippines chef don't make them act like there Japanese

Came here for my fiancee and I’s 8 year anniversary. The host was really nice and attentive. Jojo was amazing, the food was spectacular. We had an amazing time. The staff looked after us and even celebrated our anniversary with us! 10/10 service. Definitely will be back!

Been going for thirty years and it still remains just as much fun for families as ever. My kids are mesmerised every time we go, the food is delicious and there is no better spot for a family celebration. Some chefs are better than others, and you do have to wave quite a bit to get attention from waiters at times, but it's always a good, and yummy, time. Shout out to Chef Jojo who was fabulous with my two kids!

The front of house staff here are very welcoming, from the moment we walked in we were part of this amazing traditional family. Baska and Kish are stalwarts of this institution and are unfailing in their hospitality with a warm smile and a cheery hello. They totally set the tone for the events to come and you know it’s going to be great because of them. Our host today was Lewis and he was attentive and responsive to our every need, always delivering with a smile. RC cooked for us and introduced a few things that made us laugh out loud, his sense of humour was a welcome respite from the dreary day outside. The 2-4-1 deal they are running for lunch and dinner before 5:30pm is exceptional value but it’s worth coming simply because the staff are brilliant and the food is cooked in the most entertaining way possible, right in front of your eyes so you know exactly what your getting.

I had to book a place to take a group of friends visiting from Italy out for dinner. This restaurant came up on the suggestions from OpenTable. I am so glad we went. Everyone loved the ambience, the food and the atmosphere and they kept thanking me for taking them there.

Birthday Treat On 14/08/24 I family and a friend attended here. I gave my name to Daniella and she said our friend was waiting downstairs. I was wearing on my head a happy birthday head band. My name saying happy birthday was not put up on the screen. Later Daniella approached me and asked if I gave my name and I said yes I asked why my name and happy birthday was not on the screen. She said she will put it up after several hours it was not up and I told the lady manager that I was disappointed with the appalling customer service and will not pay service charge. She said ok. I asked if there were any complementary dessert for the birthday person and I was told I have to buy my own dessert. My family member bought the dessert and I told the restaurant that I cannot have milk however, when the dessert came it contained milk. The lady manager came and said oh you dessert with a candle contains milk and it was taken away and gave me another without milk. When the final bill was presented service charge was still added. The chef Edele was excellent and very respectful. My happy birthday greeting with my name was on the screen when we were ready to go home. I would not return to this restaurant again because of bad customer service,disrespectful to me and ruin my birthday.

We were here to celebrate a special birthday. Food was good, cooked freshly infront of you. They brought out the cake we had taken along, singing and dancing. It is costly and so cannot go too often.

Our chef Jaime was brilliant. We had a great time celebrating a birthday. The offer which was on was really good value.

Service was NOT good especially front of house. The lady was quite dismissive and non chalant.
