Dinings SW3 in Kensington and Chelsea

This was, without a doubt, the worst service experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, no one greeted us, no smile, no “hello,” not even basic eye contact from any of the staff. The atmosphere felt cold and entirely impersonal. The lack of hospitality made us so uncomfortable that we left before even placing an order. The staff’s behavior was unwelcoming, rude, and careless, making it clear they had no interest in providing good service. When we left, none of the staff bothered asking why we were leaving! It’s evident that management is failing to foster a positive or cohesive work environment. There was no sense of coordination or understanding among the team. I feel like they couldn’t care less of their job, no motivation at all which could explain the overall lack of morale and miserable attitudes.

No one greeted us when we walked in. The lady at the cloakroom looked like someone had killed her cat. Annoyed and impersonal, she took our coats without so much as a glance or greeting. We were shown to our table and left with the menu. Even then, the waitress didn’t acknowledge us with a greeting, a glance, or any explanation of the menu. Another staff member came over to bring us a wet wipe, and again, not a word, not a glance. The place had the coldest, most detached atmosphere that made me feel unwelcome, like just another number in a Knightsbridge money-making machine. Ugh, what a sad experience. No thanks, I won’t leave you a penny; I don’t want to be part of this. I’m sure the food is good, but we got up and left before even ordering.

The place used to be a landmark for sushi lovers but over the years they dropped the ball! Great vibes and great service but below average food!

Had a super lunch here, did not drink alcohol but the sake list looked incredible. Very much enjoyed the fusion menu. Highlights were the veggie sushi rolls and the mini burgers. Seating was a little tight on the 2 people tables. Nice spot for lunch for sure.

Food was absolutely delicious. My favourite was the mini wagyu burger. Service was top notch and staff are warm and welcoming. The umami chilli oil, delicious.

How incredible to witness a service team of both young and more established staff enjoying their evening in our company. The attention to details and amicable attitude were pleasant and supported an outstanding gastronomic experience. The food we were served, both at the cocktail function event we attended and then at the table was beyond exceptional. Attention to details speaks for itself : you’ll see it photographs attached. We cannot wait to return.

The quality of the food is good but we weren't crazy about it, the place for dinner was noisy and uncomfortable at the bar where we were. We felt that the high price did not correspond to the experience we had. Maybe we are not the target of this place.

Lugar fresco en una parte fresca de la ciudad. Dada la distancia, es más un lugar una vez al año para nosotros pero siempre lo disfrutamos. Para empezar el menú siempre está cambiando excepto por las patatas fritas de alquitrán (piense en mini tacos llenos de algo delicioso como Waygu o barriga de atún) y aunque el plato sigue cambiando la berenjena miso siempre es delicioso. Estamos a favor del sushi como principal. Fuimos por 8 piezas encabezadas por un wagyu foie gras fuera de menú (recomiendo dos cada una) , anguila ahumada y tamaro de vieira. Haz que peguen como el atún.

Dinings SW3 is my absolute favourite Japanese restaurant in London and one of my favourite spots to dine at. From the moment you enter the door, the team greet you with a warm smile. It is this warmth that has kept me coming back for years. Daniel is the Food and Beverage Director and his attention to detail and affable nature have created a sense of loyalty amongst the guests, which is what hospitality is all about. The menu is so diverse so whether you want fresh sashimi created by the very talented Mika or succulent black cod that just melts in your mouth, there is something for everyone. They also have a great selection of vegetarian dishes and so many gluten-free options which Chef Masaki has mastered which is great for me as I am celiac. The atmosphere is buzzing, yet intimate enough should you wish to have some privacy, and they have both a wine list and cocktail menu to match the spectacular food. Thank you to the team for making this restaurant like a second home for me and so many others. Dinings SW3 is a gem and represents what I love about hospitality.

It’s a small restaurant with nice Japanese food but not the best in London. The service is rushed to make you stay there maximum 1,5 hour.

Used to fine Japanese restaurants, but paying 200£ at lunch for 1 sashimi plate, 1 tomato ceviche and 6 sushis seems excessive. Service was so slow - 4 tables in total but we waited 30min to get 1 dish (not even 1 each). They had probably forgot our order as everybody was served but us. Had to cancel last dish as too long to come. Food quality is good though. Very loud music for a Friday lunch.

La comida era desafortunadamente mediocre en el mejor de los casos. El sushi era abrumador, el arroz pegajoso y el salmón que se pedía para empezar era duro y apenas comestible. La comida era muy cara. Sin embargo, el servicio era estelar. Nuestro camarero era atento y rápido, y el ambiente era genial. Recomendaría Dinings SW 3 para cócteles, pero no volvería de nuevo para la comida.

My dinner at this wonderful establishment was one of the highlights of my recent visit to London. The food was outstanding with special note to the service - this is definitely a place I recommend highly to everyone. We have been regular visitors from the early days so it’s great to see this fantastic evolution.

Went to celebrate a graduation. Absolutely wonderful experience. Amazing cocktails. Excellent service. Every sushi and sashimi lover in our party said the same thing- they may never like sushi as much again. It was that good. And that’s before considering the diversity of rolls and other dishes. For example, the wagyu bao bun slider was the best burger any of us had anywhere (including those of us from hamburger centric USA). A truly memorable meal.

My favorite Japenese restaurant in London

It was a surprise for me to find such an excellent Japanese place hidden near Knightsbridge area. Great ambiance, excellent service and outstanding menu to choose from. Loved the salads and miso soup with chilli oil followed by cold udon noodles with fatty tuna sushi. Best of all was cheesecake and chocolate eclair. Wagyu burgers were excellent with some cabbage in Japanese sauce. True delight in every bite😍🥳

Food was great - anything tuna was spectacular I got a hand roll, nigiri and a little chip taco thing (by contrast the wagyu version of the chip dish was notttt good they added a sauce that tasted like ketchup???) Cold noodle was special for the day we were there and it was excellent as was the ceviche and green bean salad. I don’t even like eel but the unagi hand roll was excellent.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in the world and definitely the best restaurant in London. The food is exquisite and the service is 2nd to none. Thank you Daniel for looking after us so well looking forward to bringing more people to your restaurant very soon.

Food is delicious, but quantity is literally 1 bite per dish ordered.

The quality of sushi here was absolutely first class. Highly recommend the black cod and the desserts. It is one of the places in London where you keep coming back and coming back. If you know you know;)

It was absolutely amazing experience! Everyone was super nice, we felt welcomed from the first second! Food and wines were incredible, especially sashimi Omakase, Nasu Dengaku and Wagyu Mini Burgers! Actually everything what we tried were delicious so I am straggling to pick one thing! Definitely recommend this place! Must try in London!

A lovely meal ruined by the fact that the staff did not inform the kitchen of a nut allergy we reiterated to the kitchen over 5 times.

A marvellous and thoroughly enjoyable experience with delicious food,well paced and excellent staff. The cocktail beforehand was a great entre to the main event.

Lovely lunch today at Dinings with our family of four; the food was excellent, we were sat on a comfortable couch around a table and the servers were very funny and nice as well as excellent about my sister's coeliac. The set menu was reasonable and the other dishes prepared with flair. Recommend.

Yesterday, three of us went for a dinner and halfway through the meal, I had very severe diarrhoea, and then when we got home the diarrhoea continued throughout the night, and my friend was even worse as he had severe diarrhoea as well as vomiting for the whole night. I have been going to this restaurant for many years and it is very disappointing to see how serious the food safety issues are now! Will not go there again!

Amazing place , excellent food.

It is officially my fav restaurant in London. It is much cheaper then flying to Japan and the food is same level good. My favorites: salmon sashimi, sashimi platter, wagu burgers, wagu suvede with truffle, lobster cricket, cheesecake dessert. Salmon rolls - I would skip, salmon handroll was tasty. Enjoy!

Easily the best sushi i’ve ever had in my life. Highly recommended, i would come back to London just for this.

This place is now one of my favourites. Loved the combination of flavours and premium ingredients. Sommelier was also excellent and she recommended some tasty drinks and sake to accompany the meal.

The service from arrival to leaving was excellent. Helpful and attentive without being too much. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty, all well presented. Hardest part was choosing. So we stuck with variations of our favourite seafood. The mini steamed Lobster burger buns, soft shell crab rolls, salmon and Scallop etc. We will have to return next time we are in London.

The staff were nice, the starters which were the tacos and the sashimi was lovely, but I was shocked at the noodles which I had for main- it was a meagre portion of cold noodles and a warm broth, I added the duck, which was three small pieces and it was £47 - I can’t get past that and it spoiled it for me, perhaps if the menu had been explained to us it would have steered us to better choices, I am happy to pay for quality but that just was overpriced more style than substance. It was a great shame as we were really looking forward to it.

Wow spectacular. Thank you to Alex and all the staff from the minute you walk in. Spectacular food. Amazing atmosphere. The drinks are out of this world even down to the beer that has a dedicated freezer for the glasses. Honestly one of the best places I’ve been. I can’t thank the staff enough for such a lovely experience thank you. Not cheap but worth EVERY penny.

Sadly, an immemorable dining experience. The only dish I truly enjoyed was a croquet. Service was impeccable as well. I was surprised babies are allowed into a fine dining restaurant - wasn’t very fun to have a baby scream next to us. Overall, I feel the place is unreasonably overhyped although was on my top list of what to visit in London.

Literally the best meal I have ever eaten. Fresh, beautiful ingredients curated to absolute perfection. Flawless cocktails, and a head chef with a passion for what he cooks. I couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

Fresh; delicate fish and shellfish, flawless cocktails, authentic Japanese dining, impeccable service, astonishing presentation and a real buzz in the atmosphere. I couldn’t change a thing, the head chef has a real passion for what he cooks and understands the ingredients at a cellular level. This is two-Michelin-star dining, and how that hasn’t been accredited yet is beyond me! Well done, I will be back again and again!

What a spectacular meal… the portions are small, but worth every expensive penny!!!

One of our fav Japanese restaurants in London. The restaurant exudes a warm atmosphere, making it a comfortable space to enjoy a meal (during summer they have cozy and quite terrace to enjoy some sunshine).The menu presents a creative twist on classic dishes, showcasing the chef's innovative approach. During winter they have the best ramen in the city. As a dessert Matcha pancakes are mouth-watering but (!!!) you need to make sure its not sold out as they have limited portions. Can't wait to eat Susuru again!

High quality gastronomy, must visit in London. I recommend mini burgers with A5 Wagyu beef, the meat is just melting in your mouth. Miso soup was nice too, tar tar chips are top.

fantastic food! everything we ordered we shared and it was exceptional. fish, meet, vegetarian, all was so good. we had a somewhat uncomfortable table where the air conditioner blowed to our had. it was quite cold. but the service handled that great and gave us a different table. upstairs it is more quite but tight. i would book a table downstairs

Nothing special and too expensive. We tried to order wine and asked for 6 different bottles of wine but they kept coming back to tell us they don't that one! They only had really expensive wine in stock.

Amazing food and service. I go there 3-4 times a year and is always great food and extremely professional and kind service. I specially love all the nigiris and the wagyu mini burgers. Will continue to go there many more times in the future if they keep their brilliant food and top service.

The best fresh sushi and new innovation about hot japanese food

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Dinings SW3, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambience and friendly staff set the perfect tone for the evening with friends. The dishes and the wine pairing (recommended by the sommelier, Jiachen Lu) we have chosen exceeded our expectations. Kudos to the entire team for consistently delivering perfection on a plate!

Can I say this is the best restaurant I have been to ? Located in a distant alley way behind Knightsbridge. Dinings is a cozy small two storey restaurant. The food is unbelievable, menu has items you won’t find elsewhere. We sat at the sushi bar and witnessed the chefs making fresh sushi all night. Our server CJ was excellent. She made sure we got everything and were very comfortable. The black cod was our favourite, it was better than the restaurants we have had them in. Sushi rolls were very good , tofu buns were nice, the fish was great but had some bones which we informed the chef about. Ordered a whisky Yamasaki cocktail which was so delightful . Overall beautiful food and great place .

Such an amazing experience! Staff is amazing! Natasha was so kind and she explained all the menu. I was in 2star michelin restaurant yesterday, this was 10times better than that.

This place is my favorite sushi spot in London!
