The best restaurants serving Italian food in Yorkshire and The Humber

We’ve been as a family a few times lately, the food is always very good but the service has really gone downhill. Starters and main courses not too bad but then been utterly neglected as if we don’t exist! Asking for extra drinks a bit of a problem too, been forgotten more than once. Trying to order a sweet almost impossible we’ve paid and left twice now waiting far too long to be given a sweet menu. A bit of a shame really perhaps more staff, or better management ? Staff rushing around and not noticing a table full of empty plates for almost half an hour and having to ask someone to clear the table is not really good.

Called in for lunch today and went for a bargain. 3 tapas for under £11. All 3 dishes were delicious and a good size. They even brought some bread and oil dip. Really good value and flavour. I will be back.

Still sat at the table after a lush meal, and wanted to leave a review immediately. Took the family - 3 teens- who are notoriously fussy and all 3, loved the food - the ribs for starters were beautifully cooked and so tasty, the seafood croquettes equally delicious pizza were lip smacking devoured at speed - all in all a gorgeous 90 minutes of family company with exceptional food!

Absolutely delicious food, friendly staff and quick service. 100% recommended.

What can I say about Julio's that hasn't been said so many times before? This restaurant is just outstanding in every aspect. I initially enquired about a family meal to celebrate my Nans 90th birthday and the communication was quick and easy. The table was booked and I asked if we could bring a cake to be brought out at the end of the meal after deserts, and some balloons. This was no problem at all. When we arrived, it was great to see Julio himself who instantly remembered us from previous visits and welcomed us all. You know you're in for a good visit when Julio is hosting and the kind of hospitality he provides, you just don't get in other restaurants. We were all seated and orders taken, promptly followed by their complimentary bread which is all homemade and delicious. The waitress was very kind and courteous and asked about allergies and introllerences which non of us had. There was not a long wait for any of the courses and every single meal was delicious and well presented. The portions are generous, and everything is made fresh to order. Nothing was too much trouble even when making little adjustments to the dishes and every plate was empty - well as empty as it could be with the portions here as if you have dined here, you'll know they dont skimp on any ingredients! Even the prawn cocktails where establishments cut back on expensive produce like this, had sooo many prawns on. Once the deserts had been finished, Julio brought out the birthday cake we provided and he started off everyone singing happy birthday. A nice surprise for my nan who wasn't expecting this. The restaurant was filling up during the time we was there so booking is highly advisable. They also have two other restaurants ( Bellinis in brighouse which i have visted before and can recommend, and Saltaire which i havnt had the chance to get to yet!) Everything about the day was perfect from start to finish and the consistency in service food and ambiance is unmatched. There's a reason we have been visiting Julios for 20 years and we will be visiting for 20 more. Support this local restaurant, you will never be disappointed. Thank you to Julio and his team for making my nans 90th, one to remember.

Nice location run by Italians, friendly and competent, typical Italian fish and meat dishes, normal pizza, delicious desserts

This restaurant is a great find. Warm welcome and good seating options. There were 4 adults and 2 children all adults had something different and we all really enjoyed them. Starters were good and mains good quality and portions. One of our party just after surgery so requested half portion - it was no problem and didn’t charge for full. The staff were great and the menu is very varied. I had sea bass with a pearl barley risotto- delicious 😋 Thanks to all staff we will be back.

Very friendly service, was welcomed in straight away and the waitress was very helpful in explaining what each cake was on the counter. It's rare to find such nice service, so we will definitely be back 😁 We had the tiramisu and a scone - both delicious and presented prettily.

Visited with friends for an evening meal & had the early bird menu, the choice is excellent for starters & mains with Vegetarian options & fish, meat options. We visit often & every visit has been excellent quality food, service is exceptional & staff are brilliant, you don’t feel rushed & the atmosphere is perfect for anyone visiting, excellent for celebrations - we had a birthday celebration here .

Luckily for us we swerved the Premier Inn next door and booked here at Al Bivio Top service and food and a lovely venue with atmosphere and warmth. The staff were so welcoming, the service was exceptional and the food was amazing at a very reasonable price. Met at the door, asked if wanted to hang out coats, seen straight to our table, very attentive staff with a smiles and a genuine warmth. Would definitely recommend 100% and will return when next in the area

An always busy and lively Italian restaurant that does a great job serving the local community. Excellent authentic food, with all the usual pasta, meat, and fish mains, plus decent pizza. Good wine selection. It's reasonably priced as well. Recommend booking a table in advance.

Really nice Italian in crosspool Sheffield, food was wonderful and staff were friendly, make sure to take cash, as its a cash only establishment!! I was caught short and had to run to the ATM. But very nice would go again!
