Puccini's in Barnsley

Visited Puccini's on Friday evening with friends. I must compliment the whole staff at the restaurant. The food was delicious as always and the waitresses were so very pleasant and polite. Love this restaurant.

Would have given 5 for food but after 20yrs on continual use have noticed the veg portions are a lot small and the prawns in the starter, fewer and smaller. No room to post below but Fillet Steak n sauce gorgeous

First time at Puccini's but will be going back. The hallway leading to the dining room has a great looking stairway to your LH side. The dining room is functional and very clean. I ordered a Pizza for starters and they did me a smaller version followed by Pancakes and a side portion of fries. The food was delicious, it was the best pizza I have ever had. The service was good and there was no waiting to be served what you had ordered. The chicken pancake was also on par and the only downside was the lack of chips in the bowl. Four of us ordered a side of chips and it appeared as though they had done enough for three and then tried to make them look more in the bowls. Small details but I want them to be aware that something insignificant maybe taking away from the excellent experience. All in all, one of Barnsley' best. Cheers

Loved it, been several times over the years, and the quality never changes.

First visit for me to this fabulous place. I was very impressed with the menu, especially when I saw my favourite starter, Calamari (Squid). I can honestly say that it was the best that I had ever tasted. All our food was hot and well presented and all the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a great specials board with lots of choices . I would highly recommend Puccini's, we had a lovely experience thanks to all the hard working staff .

My friends and I visit this restaurant many times and it never ceases to disappoint. The staff are very attentive. The food is fantastic. Good value for money. Our favourite restaurant in barnsley.

Food spot on for price ,drinks are over priced over rated bottles only wine by the glass at nearly 7pound a glass,attitude of staff member was 2faced gave backstabbing comment after we left(waste of time) ,wouldn't recommend it unless you are loaded ,go elsewhere

Food was beautiful, portion sizes were good. It was quiet on a Tuesday night, for 3 starters, 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine it was approx £80 which was great value. Service was very good. The pollo puccini is highly recommended

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Meals are delicious. Food delivery is quick. Staff are amazing and can't do enough for you and the price was really good too. Great parking. Go to Puccinis (even better than the opera!)

OMG! How awesome is Puccinis!! I just took a 16th birthday party of 13 there for 5.30pm on a Sunday straight after 3 hours of swimming. 11 FAMISHED boys on a very cold rainy winter evening. Within 45 mins, Puccini's had everyone full, fed, warm and happy. They even had a number "6" candle when the one I took turned out to be a "9"! :D I can't thank the team enough for looking after us so well and treating us all like kings for an evening. We'll definitely back. And the food was amazing too and all the boys loved it (even the autistic ones who have particular tastes). Wholeheartedly recommended <3 <3 <3

We had heard good things about Puccini's so decided to have dinner before the theatre. We were not disappointed. The hostess was extremely friendly. The food was superb. Beautiful flavours. We spent £50 for a starter to share 2 main courses 1 dessert & 3 bottles of Peroni. We were both suprised at the prices of the mains ! We are used to Whitby prices ! £13 for a beautiful pasta dish that included melt in the mouth steak. We will definitely be returning

It was absolutely lovely and the meal I had, was truly delicious. It came out within good time, and was made to perfection. A small bit of Italy, from home to here. It felt very authentic, and the lady that served me was wonderful and so accommodating! 5/5! If I was not down simply for a business trip, I would absolutely come again!

A fantastic evening with friends for a retirement party. Food and service was excellent as always.

Up from London again, we had another excellent dinner here. My wife had the Seafood Risotto, whilst I had the Spaghetti Ragu. Both were very much enjoyed, together with a bottle of good value Pinot Grigiot. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and I do recommend this restaurant for fine Italian fare. Easy parking is also available on site. It's located on the main A628 Dodworth Road leading into Barnsley.

Our first ever time her for my stepdaughter’s 21st birthday will definitely not be our last .I had lasagna which I’m dubious about as I make a lovely one but omg it was absolutely delicious the best I’ve ever had can’t wait to go again

First time trying this place and it was gorgeous! Ordered chicken alla crème for main and oh my too nice forgot to take a picture! The lady who served us was lovely and will 1000% be back

The 2 drinks choices I asked for were out of stock. So I had water. Sad face. My meal on the menu described as fillet steak strips. No, it was gristly minute steak, more mushrooms than meat. Starter of meatballs and the main both came with the same stodgy tomato sauce. Waitress had a thick bunched up accent and was difficult to understand. Our first visit, very disappointed. We were given 20% discount.

This wss a spur of the moment first visit. The car park was empty and we almost changed our minds, however we would have missed out on excellent food, full of taste and well prepared. Friendly service and a spotlessly clean environment. Definitely returning.

This place is one of my favourite Italians! The food here is always good and the service is always good too, the staff are very friendly! Good atmosphere. The meals are at a good price too. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to eat out in the local area.

Last minute plans with my girlfriend after a late shift at work, they made time for us & made us feel very welcome. The food speaks for itself, absolutely stunning. Authentic Italian - hidden gem in Barnsley! Sadia the waitress made things extra special.

This was the second time visiting Puccini's and won't be the last service 1st class. They didn't rush you and food deserves 6 stars. Puccini's is one of the few restaurants I would recommend to friends & family.

We went as a group of 5 for a birthday meal The venue is nice clean and spacious The service was pleasant and fast The drinks are bottles not draught which was fine for me. The food was average. The rest of our group appeared to enjoy there meal apart from myself. I was left disappointed when the fillet steak Rossini I ordered came out as a rump steak disguised as a fillet. I can only presume that the restraint had run out of fillet and instead of making me aware and offering an alternative thought it would be ok to cook me a rump and fold it in half in an attempt to pass it off as a piece of fillet and to top it off over cooked it. Really disappointing

Been going to Puccinis for about 10 years and it is always lovely. Service is exceptional, staff make you feel welcome and always make conversation. The food is amazing, particularly the polpette, pizzas and tomato pasta dishes. The staff are also very understanding and will make any requirements to dishes or change anything customers are unhappy with.

Ate here on Saturday night. This was our first time as we have just moved to the area. We had great expectations but I’m afraid we won’t be returning. Staff were exceptionally poor at advice on drinks. Asked what soft drinks were available I was informed J2, orange or red. The salad with the pate was served without any dressing and tbh was of poor quality. I thoroughly enjoyed my main of chicken and mushroom with veg, although half a roast potato is a tad mean. The pizza was tasteless and should have had chill in it but none was detected. The cannelloni was dry. We weren’t offered Parmesan or black pepper. It was just disappointing.

The food here is delicious, especially the fillet steak Rossini. However the atmosphere has changed here, possibly as a result of Covid. The lights are bright, the table tops are bare and the menus are laminated sheets, none of which h are major issues but it has the overall affect of making the venue noisier and more akin to a cafe experience than a restaurant. I woukdnsay this is not a place for a romantic meal, but ideal for a family outing or works do.

The food was good we had the Fillet Rossini and it was melt in the mouth. However it came wirh fries and no other sides which was a little unexpected. There was veg if you had potatoes apparently. For £25+ veg would be nice. The house wine wasn't great but they did replace it. The evening was somewhat subdued by the lighting and decor. The lights are so bright there is no intimacy. We have been to the building many times and this time it felt like a canteen. We were not led to the bar upstairs for drinks, no candles on the table just the bright lights. It just didn't feel special

Saturday evening visit. The staff are friendly and efficient. The interior is clean and pleasant, although it would have really nice to have a candle or small flower vase on the table, instead of just salt & pepper grinders (a little too basic café style for the price range). We ate Olives & bread while waiting for our starters. My partner doesn’t usually eat Olives but he enjoyed these as they weren’t overly strong. I tucked in to a delicious plate of battered Calamari, with a lemon Mayo dip. My partner had prosciutto wrapped mozzarella rolls which were lovely but a little on the salty side. For mains we had Tagliatelle Salmone and Penne Milanesi, decent sized portions and both in a creamy tomato sauce. The Steak strips were tender. I didn’t find a great deal of salmon in my dish, however what I had was very tasty. We were too full to have desert and instead opted for liqueur coffee’s. These came with an individually wrapped mint, Which was fine, although an after dinner Mint chocolate would have been better. Overall I really like this restaurant, there are just a few small touches they could use to raise the bar

The food was absolutely beautiful all 6 of us enjoyed every mouthful of everything we had and we have fussy family. Delicious couldn't ask for better taste wise. Nice Italian draught beer would be a good addition if I were to pick at anything at all but really enjoyable evening and will be back very soon. Consiglio 100 % ❤

Visited tonight for the first time. Don’t know how or why we have not been sooner. Absolutely outstanding food, flavoursome & plentiful. Owner, waitresses & waiter could not have been more welcoming. Absolute well worth the visit & the next visit. I’d advise anyone to give this place a whirl, you won’t be disappointed! 5* all the way.

Sad to say we won’t eat here again ! The place is lovely, staff nice welcoming and friendly but the food was at best mediocre. My garlic mushrooms starter was awful, side vegetables and potatoes were bland and undercooked and dreadfully presented the sweet selection...

Excellent food and very friendly staff.

Our first meal out since February due to covid. We said right from the beginning that our first meal would be here. We just love this place. Great to see all the tables full too. The staff were all very well trained, just a shame we couldn't shake hands with the owners, we settled for an elbow high 5😂. The government scheme is a great way to get the businesses going again. I just hope people keep it up after it ends, we certainly will, especially here. Our favourite place to eat. Thanks again x

Me and my family called for a table last minute they was very polite and got us booked in ASAP. While we were there they had fun with our daughters and was very welcoming and nice, my partner wanted cocktails even though they don’t serve cocktails they went and made him one Very welcoming people and really nice food!!!!
