Super place to visit for lunch fantastic staff.

We had a three course meal all four of us and it was very nice, tasty and the service was excellent Highly recommended

This place is a gem. Lovely, professional staff that go above and beyond to help. Great welcome and delicious coffee which was presented beautifully. Very clean throughout. One of the group was vegan and they provided a very tasty cooked flatbread, seasoned very well with vegan bacon and mushrooms and about 3 other ingredients. The desserts were ridiclously tasty, we even took some home! My non-vegan food was delicious also. Super place, will be visiting again with family A*

Excellent weekly breakfast venue with picturesque coffee!

I called into Massarellas today with my friend for a skinny mocha and a cake , a cherry bakewell cheesecake. It's always a pleasure to go there. The cheesecake was very nice and I loved the decoration of the frothy top of the mocha.. Thanks to the staff who are always so kind and friendly. Thanks to Timea for always making us feel welcome..

Absolutely the most perfect little Italian cafe/restaurant to while away some time whilst in Meadowhall. Excellent food, atmosphere and the staff are like family. Nothing is too much trouble. This visit we had garlic bread with cheese, tomato and onion which was delicious and highly recommended. Great coffee art from Andrea as well. This place is out of the way near the closed Debenhams but is worth taking the time to visit

Ada was super kind and helpful. She served with a friendly smile and was very informative. The food was good and came quickly.

If you are in Meadowhall and fancy a drink or a bite to eat, you have to visit Massarellas. Everything about this place makes you want to return time and time again. The staff are incredibly welcoming at all times and nothing is too much trouble. The manager has trained his team to perfection. And once you try the food, you'll want to return just to sample more of the menu. I can't pick any dish in particular as they are all delicious. You also have to have one of their amazing desserts, there is such a great choice and again, everything is really tasty. Finally the atmosphere is so relaxing, you can happily while away plenty of time here

Massarellas makes meadowhall bearable

Good for a cafe inside a mall. Coffee tastes good, Italian pastries weren’t fresh but chewy.

We'd never visited this Café before, but the menu look appealing. We called in for lunch having pre-booked, though it wasn't busy. We were given a choice of locations to seat, which is always nice. Though having been seated we were left without menu's for some time and these only arrived when specifically asked for. We both enjoyed our food, the salmon being excellent. Again, after we had clearly finished our food for perhaps ten minutes, plates were only removed after we requested it. We decided not to have desert, as I couldn't handle anymore delays. I can't fault the food we had and the place itself is nice, but the service in our experience needs improving guys.

I must say, I'm quite biased about this fabulous Cafe/Restaurant because it's situated next to my Colour Analysis styling 'suite' but it's a brilliant place to go for a Coffee & Cake or a lovely bowl of pasta and wine after a shop-til-you-drop session. It's on the Upper Floor and tucked away to the side. I run my ticketed Style Events here called 'Sipping Style' #SippingStyle and it's a lovely way to spend the afternoon getting Style and Colour inspiration. The staff are friendly and professional and welcoming. The standards are so excellent and they are all so friendly and welcoming. It's a true asset to Meadowhall! Bravo! 🌈 My favourite meal is the breakfast 'Uevo Massarella' Poached eggs on Smoked Salmon....so yummy! Nice relatively quiet restaurant. Good waiter service, food good with various choices and daily specials. Prices mid to high. Basic table layout therefore not a great deal of privacy.

Had a lovely time here Friday night. We were a party of 5, and some wanted food. Some just wanted coffee cake and wine. The staff were very attentive to all our needs. They picked up that we were celebrating a birthday. They brought a tiramsu dressed with a candle, and all the staff came and sang Happy Birthday. We were all very impressed and will be returning. The famous Massarella tiramsu was wonderful! Many thanks.

We called at this lovely cafe/restaurant just before we started our Christmas shopping in early December. Even though it was busy and there was a short queue, it didn't take long before we were seated. The meals looked very appetising. Our coffees were really good and the gentleman that served us was really polite and efficient. We called in today before going round the sales and this time we had coffee and a light lunch, which both were really good. The waitress that served us was really friendly and even though it was starting to get busy, we didn't feel rushed at all. The quality of everything was just as we remembered it from our previous visit. You have enough space to actually relax not like some of the places where it is so busy with people bumping into you or hanging around waiting for your table. I really do recommend to try this lovely place. Be will be back

Smoked Bacon and mushrooms on ciapatta

Worst service ever. I asked for a to-go cup and it was dirty from the inside. I showed it to the waitress and she did not like that I gave her back her dirty cup. she said we don’t clean to-go cups, we just give them as is.

First time trying this establishment, and wow it will not be the last. Both myself and partner orders food and a coffee, all ordered at the table and served in good time. Firstly the coffee, fantastic, I'm no connoisseur but I know and like a good coffee, this delivered in my flat white and wife's cappuccino. The food arrived hot, nicely plated and good amount. So how did it taste? Fantastic, I can not recommend the Italian Steak burger enough, the salad in the burger had a lovely crunch of freshness, the burger Pattie was juicy and delicious, add the cheese and fresh brioche superb. My wife's flat bread sandwich was also fresh and tasty. All in all we will be going back, skip the hustle and bustle of the oasis with subpar food, treat yourself and enjoy the atmosphere, delicious food/drink with passionate service here instead. 5* keep it up and thank you, rare to hit all areas of service, food and atmosphere anymore. Don't change and we see you soon

Amazing. Food was fantastic, coffee was best yet and all hot even the mince pie was amazing, just missing the cream! Service was outstanding...reasonable price for the food, just forgot to use my NHS discount which they do... Dooh!.. Will be back soon am sure.

Went in all staff talking to each other Sat down no one came to take are order we were sat ther over 20 minutes Not many customers in the Caffè We decided to leave and not one person on staff ask why we were leaving

Not been for a while but used to be really good, found that the menu has changed and prices have gone up noticeably but okay, it’s post Covid etc so I ordered the poached eggs on chiabatta with bacon and grilled tomato. What I got was was 2 very well done dry eggs on limp barely toasted bread, 2 of the smallest slices of bacon in the world and a tomato that may have passed a grill at some point in its life…without a doubt the most underwhelming breakfast ever. First visit in a while but definitely my last.

Stuck in Attercliffe for several hours while my van was being repaired, I went off to Meadowhall in search of coffee. I stumbled on this Cafe by accident. The place was very pleasant as were the staff and the coffee was excellent. Other customers were enjoying what appeared to be excellent cakes. Unfortunately I am unable to partake of such things myself for health reasons, but it looks pretty impressive.

Needed a coffee break after shopping and didn’t want to give money to Starbucks so I ended up in this lovely café and got served by Andrea, very nice Italian guy really made my afternoon! The coffee was very good and absolutely loved the apple pie!

I've been here for a morning date and the service was outstanding. I think our server was called Andrea, he made sure all our needs and dietary requirements were met. 11/10 would go again.

Very nice Italian cafe in Sheffield Meadowhall. Wide-ranging menu with lots of options and I had a toasted sandwich and espresso. Both were very nice and the service was good. The atmosphere was ok, given it is located in a shopping mall. I suspect, however, on a different day and time it would be better. If you need a coffee or a bite to eat in Meadowhall, skip the chains and come here instead.

We popped in for coffee and couldn't resist a scone. It was delicious, served with clotted cream and a beautiful jam. Friendly service and great coffee too.

We went to a music and pasta evening, great value, great food and some good music to listen to for a couple of hours. We're already booked in for their music and pasta event just before Christmas!

Breakfast was excellent, couldn’t fault it one bit. We were well looked after by Ada, she was lovely, looked she us well, service was fabulous. Food was delicious, well presented & cooked beautifully. This is a lovely restaurant, comfortable, clean with lovely helpful staff. A little piece of Italy tucked away, made me feel like I was aboard on holiday. Well definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

An absolute gem. What a find, far but not too far from the maddening crowds of a Sunday afternoon in Meadowhall. Served at the table by polite, helpful staff. Tea with a pot of boiling water, delicious coffee along with a wonderful choice of desserts. Desserts which are changed on a daily basis to delight you each and every time you visit. We will be visiting every time we go to Meadowhall now.

Love this cafe. Staff are very friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. Plenty of room around the tables outside the old Debenhams for pushchairs. Lovely and quiet at this end of Meadowhall away from the packed Oasis.

Called in here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend after a bit of shopping. It took a while to be shown to our seats and for our order to be taken even though the place was only about half full. I and my husband ordered a couple of items each from the small plates selection and to be quite honest it was very underwhelming. The Gamberi All'Aglio at £8.90 a pop consisted of 5 prawns on a bit of ciabatta. The prawns were in their shells, so any flavour disappeared when they were peeled, plus they were dry and overcooked. The Bruschetta Al Pomodoro (£6.40) was just a few chopped tomatoes, with a tiny amount of onion on a slice of bread. The tomatoes were cold and had no flavour and the bread wasn't crispy at all, just seemed like normal stodgy bread. The crabcakes were ok, but seemed to consist of the brown meat and were a bit too fishy smelling for my liking, they're very tiny and you only get 3 for £7.70. The garlic mushrooms were nice enough but should be for £6.90 for a small portion. We ordered a bowl of fries at £4, which looked and tasted just like McCains oven fries and came in a tiny bowl. To be honest, when I left I felt totally ripped off. I would have complained but no one asked if we'd enjoyed our meal, so we just paid up and left. I will be having words with my friend for recommending this place, and I definitely won't be going back here.

Arrived a little later than expected from Birmingham so hoped we wouldn’t be too late to order from the breakfast menu. Didn’t have to worry very accommodating, seated outside in the mall, served immediately. Order latte coffees and the Pane Tostado (£4.70) selection of artisan breads with butter and strawberry preserve. Delicious, had to succumb to a second coffee before we left.

My favourite place to eat in meadowhell. Away from the hustle and bustle. Light airy cafe. With genuinely great caring staff. Amazing service and the food has never once let me down. Beautiful

Caffe Massarella is tucked away in a quiet corner of Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield next door to what was once the large Debenhams department store. Despite that now being shut the restaurant is none-the-less popular despite the obvious drop in footfall. The closure of Debenhams has given them the opportunity to expand their seating beyond the confines of the physical restaurant and there are plenty of tables 'outside'. We arrived shortly after 12.15 and were quickly and easily seated, given the choice of where we wanted to sit. The restaurant was reasonably quiet at this point but rapidly filled during our stay. Mrs Wanderer played a quick game of musical chairs as she said her chair, despite showing promise with the padding, was quite uncomfortable. I had to agree as I could feel the chair frame beneath the seat pad. They could change the chairs for something more comfortable but that is obviously an expensive exercise. Service was quick and we ordered our meals and drinks. I opted for the Pappardelle Bolognese with homemade beef ragu and my wife went for the salmon and grains salad. The drinks arrived shortly thereafter quickly followed by the meals. The pappardelle was a decent sized portion and the pasta cooked nicely al dente. The dish was garnished with wild rocket. However, despite there being a nice amount of tomato ragu there wasn't a great deal of beef. It was however very tasty and I enjoyed it despite the shirt stains afterwards! Mrs Wanderer's 'salad' consisted of cured salmon with beetroot chunks and giant cous cous. The salmon had clearly been cured in beetroot given the colour. She enjoyed her meal too. During our meal another couple took their seats behind us and I chuckled when the gentleman also swapped his chair with another! This was our second visit to Caffe Massarella at Meadowhall so, despite my minor gripes about the chairs and meat content, they are doing something right to draw us back. The number of people waiting to be seated is also testament to that. I've given an 'average' score simply because of these gripes but overall it is worth a visit. I frequently visit Massarella alone and with family and friends and have always been welcomed with a friendly smile and courtesy. Does not matter if I am served coffee or a meal I just know service will be excellent and it is easy to build a friendly rapport with staff who genuinely know their regular customers. Special mention for Lein, Andrea, the 'ladies in black' who oversea smooth running and of course, the "Boss'': ever present, ever sharp and ever so polite.

This cafe has fantastic customer service. Friendly helpful staff. Always my first choice to chill and drink coffee with friends.

We often visit here when we shop at meadow hall shopping centre. It’s based near the old Debenhams shop, so away from the food halls. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food arrives hot on a hot plate (many meals recently at other fooderies have had to be returned.) Well worth a visit, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

We purchased coffee and tea only. So that is possible without a food order. The drinks were of good quality. Service on ordering and on payment at the end was top notch. Faultless. I even obtained two vouchers time limited for a future free drink. The venue was half full but deserved more patronage and I can recommend.

As you might guess from the title, I rarely visit 'Meadowhell' and had an even larger than expected gap due to Covid and other circumstances. However, I used to like a morning Latte at Masserellas on my fast in, fast out, trips. Due to Christmas shopping, today was a coffee and then early lunch occasion. My wife will confirm that the Egg Pot was great and the accompanying crusty bread likewise whilst, although not a vegan, I really enjoyed the Falafel and Vegetable Panini. Helpful, friendly service. Nothing not to like.

Arrived in meadow Hall today and went for coffee and cakes. We sat there for 15 minutes. Staff kept coming around but nobody acknowledged us or took our order. We left. We had to return with our bags and i sat down again while my husband took the bags to the car. 10 minutes later I was still sat there. They were bit particularly busy but tables were picked with used plates. What a shambles. We left again and won't be going back.

Spotlesdly clean, airy and well stocked. Staff utterly fabulous! Great customer service and product knowledge. Piping hot tea served with a well flavoured crisp mince pie and freshly whipped cream. A real treat to come here, great experience all round. Can't wait for a return visit. Well done!!

We have been visiting this cafe for a few years now and we are always welcomed warmly by the Maitre De, he is excellent! The food, coffee, and cakes are always great, and the price is reasonable. On this visit we were served by Gosia who was great!

Served by a lovely young lady here today, unfortunately didn’t get her name, “Damn” Suffice to say she told us she had only worked here for a short while, her service and personality were outstanding, . The food was also top notch . Hang on to this young lady Cafe Massarella, she is certainly an asset
