Il Bivio in Harrogate

Absolutely great evening. Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. I requested a dish which was not on the menu, but which I had recently eaten in Roma. They did it especially for me and it was superb 👌🏼 The test of my party had a variety of dishes which were all well enjoyed. Service attentive but not rushed. Prices reasonable. The restaurant is very close to Hornbeam Park railway station. Also, bus routes in easy reach. All in all 10/10

We met as a family celebrating my son’s birthday and were certainly not disappointed. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and we felt very relaxed and didn’t feel we were hurried into rushing our meal which I often find in some big chains. The food is excellent and a wide choice to cater for anybody’s needs but was all fresh and the child’s meals were very substantial and they loved it. My only suggestion is either sharper knives for pizza cutting or using a pizza cutter as it was quite difficult to cut through, however this is just such a minor issue and we will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family

An excellent choice of food, very well presented, extremely tasty and with generous portions. The service was very friendly and prompt and it is certainly a venue that I will return on many future visits.

Solid ‘local’ Italian, not attempting to be fine dining, just providing a wide range of dishes for a mix of locals and tourists. Room clean and bright, service efficient and pleasant. Wine reasonable. One gripe, the sharp knives need sharpening.

Recently visited Harrogate and was recommended Bivio Italian restaurant next door to our hotel. The food was excellent creamy and with a lot of flavour - rarely had better Italian. Friendly staff, fair prices - what's not to like?!

Lovely food. We’d read the portions were big so only had a main course and it was easily enough. We both had pizzas that were excellent. Car park right outside . We booked on the day and the restaurant was busy so we’d advise doing that. Service was friendly and efficient and the food came quickly. The only negative we had was the music in the restaurant was very loud & relentless. Made holding a conversation difficult. Such a shame as the rest was absolutely great.

Just a few miles away from Rudding Park hotel where we was staying, didn’t look much from the outside but once in, it was well worth the visit, had an extensive menu. Enjoyed a lovely pasta dish with wine

We were visiting Harrogate and had no booking on Saturday night however, the Bivio managed to fit us in which we’re grateful for. Staff were very friendly and service was very quick. Food was delicious and very good portion. Highly recommend the place

Whatever here on consecutive evenings and the restaurant was really busy but the staff were great and the quality of food was excellent.

Chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews also the fact their menu clearly states they will take into account our dietary needs. My wife has had a gastric bypass so the half portion offered was amazing. The food was excellent, service was excellent in fact we will be back very soon.

What a fabulous place to meet and eat with friends and family! A broad menu of genuinely lovingly prepared italian food. The pride of everyone on the staff in their place of work and the quality of the food is evident from the moment you arrive. Customers of all ages are made to feel welcome and there is a constant stream of repeat visitors who seem to be on first name terms with the team. The peperoncini ripieni were a delicious start to the evening, followed by the lightest and crispiest pizza I've had in many a month. Suffice it to say that getting the small things right like excellent ingredients and a passion for their product ends up with something rather special. I shall definitely be returning with family soon!

Last Saturday 12 friends had lunch at Bivio. Some friends had been before some hadn’t. We couldnt fault a thing. Excellent food,(as usual), excellent service (as usual) Everyone enjoyed everything that was ordered from start to finish. The new visitors cant wait for the next time!! Although it’s an hours drive from where we all live it is well worth it. . Thank you to all the staff.

This was the second occasion that I have dined in this Italian restaurant - .the previous visit was when I was last in Harrogate about four years ago. The restaurant itself was unchanged as was the menu and the service. I can only speak for myself of course - I was very .disappointed.with the food. The Minestrone soup was, for me, insipid; the liver was tough; the desert far from memorable.

Thoroughly enjoyed our night! Had delicious minestrone soup and calamari for starters (and plenty of it!) then lasagne and spaghetti carbonara for mains (done with smoky lardons - delish!) We had to share a tiramisu, which again was rich and creamy…our ‘go to’ place whenever we’re in Harrogate…

Service was second to none and the quality and choice of food was exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and always serve with a smile. Portions of food more than adequate all served on nice warm plates. Highly recommended.

My wife and I went for lunch prior to the Harrogate "Flower" show (another story).A very modern yet typical Italian restaurant with welcoming friendly and very efficient staff. Excellent warm bread with tapinade and olives (all complimentary). First class wine and soft drinks list at reasonable prices. We opted for main course and dessert only and the delivery of the food was very quick. The food itself was of the very highest quality - succulent prawns on a salad bed (varied leaves, fennel, chillies and tomatoes still on the vine) and ravioli stuffed with lobster and crab meat - absolutely faultless. Desserts were cheesecake (with mango ice cream) and tiramisu both superb. Finally, the best coffee I've had in a long time. All of this at a very reasonable price. If we lived in Harrogate this would be a regular for us, I wish it were in Newcastle. Thoroughly recommended.

Our last meal out in December 2020 before lockdown was here and we were so happy to back for our first meal out since then. As usual everything was perfect, in fact we think it was better then ever (if thats possible!!!), a big thank you to all the staff, its always a great place to have a meal. We live an hours drive away and todays journey was horrendous with heavy rain and road works but still worth every minute of the journey!!!

I’ve stayed next door at the Premier Inn LOADS of times, but always went into Harrogate centre at night, and overlooked this little gem! Warm and attentive service, bread, olives and tapenade as you enter...it actually feels NORMAL, with busy tables and lots of chit chat! My calamari starter was HUGE, pizza lovely - no soggy bits and well covered with toppings. Hubby’s lasagne was (in the words of ‘hairy biker’ Dave Myers ‘unctuous’ and full of cream - we ordered chips too, which - while lovely! - weren’t necessary, as we were full! This is a great place, serving really good food - try it!

Busier than in would have liked given the need to keep people spaced out and they lose a star for the chef tasting the food in the open kitchen but that said the meal was absolutely delicious so maybe he was just checking!! The front of house staff were really welcoming and helpful and overall I would definitely eat here again.

So pleased to be able to have lunch at Bivio’s yesterday. As usual everything was first class, food and service and all Covid compliant. We live about one hours drive away but it is well worth the drive. Thank you again to Daniele and all the staff.

Thankfully Al Bivios are able to offer take aways during lockdown, the food is as amazing as ever. If you have not tried them before then you are missing out, if you have been already been before then I can only guess you are about to go back. Please help support this local gem so they can survive these difficult times and we can all go there an celebrate as times get better.

I've visited this place more times than I can recall over the last 10ish years, and I've never had a bad meal. Countless work lunches, dinner out with friends and family, and just popping in for a takeout coffee. It's always great, and the staff are really lovely.I was concerned when I went vegan about a year ago that their menu doesn't really cater for it, but I enquired and they are able to make so many of their dishes vegan - including the pizza, so it's meant I can keep frequenting this fantastic establishment.

Dined here today.So, at first the waiter seemed to rush us a bit, not setting the best feel. Complimentary bread olives and anchovy/pesto dip veey nice. Then we had aubergine and arancini starters which were both delicious. The waiter didnt have his nose covered by his mask which put me off a bit but we ordered the beef and lobster raviolis which were the best I have ever tasted. We shared a bottle of wine which was nice and we finished with the lemon tart and tiramisu. We both thought the food was fantastic, I just felt the place lacked a little warmth/italian charm. We had some friends staying in Harrogate for a few days and so we invited them to Bivio’s. They live in Cambridge and they said it was the best Italian meal they have had outside of Italy!!! We live about one hours drive away but its well worth the drive.The food and staff are always excellent. Nothing too much trouble. One of our favourite places to eat.

This booking was very last minute but they wer very accommodating. A fantastic meal. Food quality unsurpassed. The staff the most friendly and helpful of all the places we have been. If you do not go anywhere else, go to Bivio.

This is my favourite restaurant in Harrogate and it is definitely the most underrated. I have been coming here for 10 years and can honestly say I have never had anything less than an excellent meal each time. Danielle and the team are nothing short of exceptional I cannot rate this resteraunt and wonderful staff higher. Please keep doing what you do :)

Dined out 5 times in the last month and every time there is a warm welcome, great food and it all arrives hot + in a timely manor.I've eaten here with the family, on my own and also with guests multiple times over the last few years and keep coming back.

As it is situated just across the road from the Premier Inn, we decided to wander across for something to eat at about 5.30 pm. It was fully booked but they could fit us in if we could vacate the table before 7.45pm. I must say that this was the best Italian meal we have had in a long time. Everything was cooked to our liking. I had the Calamari to start with and my wife had the Bruscetta. My main course was Salmon fillet with prawns in a creamy sauce and it was absolutely delicious. My wife had the King Prawns which had a little too much salad for my liking but she enjoyed it no end. Would recommend this restaurant for the food and the friendly service from the staff

Our last meal before lockdown was at Bivio’s and today our first meal out was at Bivio’s. So so pleased to be back, as usual everything was excellent, it was if we had never been away. Staff are always so attentive here and cant do enough for you and the food is always superb!! Felt very comfortable and safe with distancing rules and sanitizers all in place.

A very good and very busy restaurant. In a strange place (for a restaurant), even opens at 8.00 in the morning. That said the food is invariably good and reasonably priced. We've been a few times now and have got to know some of the staff - very friendly and attentive. However, if you are looking for a cosy, quiet, intimate atmosphere sort restaurant then Al Bivio is not for you.

We were staying next door at the Premier Inn and spotted this place so checked out the menu and booked for that evening. There is an extensive choice of meals, plus specials, all of which are really good value for money. The food, service and ambience were all so good we ate here every evening of our three night stay. It seems very popular so would recommend booking, especially for a weekend. Will definitely return when we're next in the area.

My friend and I were staying at the Premier Inn when we drove past and caught sight of this lovely restaurant. So glad we found it in time instead of eating at the attached pub restaurant. This was a great find, lovely gins, great food and desserts and friendly staff. Reasonable prices- win win!

Pleasantly surprised by this Italian ! Booked a table a few hours before our visit, glad we did as it was fairly busy. We were met by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table wasn’t keen on chairs a tad uncomfortable and high compared to the height of the table. However a minor thing compared to the great food we received. It was all freshly cooked and we didn’t have to wait too long either. We had 3 drinks and 3 main meals along with olives and ciabatta bread for an aperatif . We paid £62 . It was really tasty and staff very friendly. Will visit again. Only one thing to improve on and that would be to have less bright lights . It wasn’t in keeping of a good feel restaurant more canteen lighting. Can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

We booked ahead, although I don't think it was necessary for a Friday. As soon as we were seated they brought us bread with olives and a tapanade. A bit of olive oil would not have gone amiss. We had a thoroughly delightful Meryl. Including wine and spirits the bull came in at around £45 a head. Very good value for the money.

We visited this restaurant after coming to Harrogate and looking on tripadvisor and what a disappointment. We came out to enjoy our evening but soon as we entered the restaurant we was put on a downing with all the miserable staff. Six of us ate here on a visit to Harrogate and loved it - all six meals were great - halibut, steak, and great pasta meals. Chocolate mousse and ice cream - lovely staff and nicer buzzy atmosphere -and parking just outside. We couldn't get in for New Year's Eve but we went later on for ice cream, mousse and coffee and they found us a spot to sit - really well worth a visit - lucky Harrogate

Many Italian restaurants offer the same menus lacking in inspiration and innovation. Not so at the Al Bivio. The food is excellent with interesting and different dishes. Some have observed that the building is ‘canteen style’ which is true but the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. This is a great restaurant, well worth visiting

Warm and welcoming Italian restaurant serving probably the best pizza in Harrogate and other authentic dishes. Good wine list and the ice creams are a firm favourite with our children. One of my favourite places to eat.
