Al Bivio Italian Restaurant Harrogate in Harrogate

We had quite a mixed experience at Al Bivio, where we had to eat as the neighbouring Premier Inn had made a hash of their evening meal provision. We went on two occasions: an excellent pizza, with a generous home-made base, and a delicious pasta dish with chicken and white wine. However, from the Specials lists, a lasagne was quite tough, and my seafood risotto over-salty, though I would add that it was generously filled. A pet theme of mine: this restaurant is NOISY! Not one single absorbent surface anywhere, just a bare glass frontage and plain walls that reflect sound. Having a conversation in here feels like hard work.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. The waiters are so friendly and helpful. Its a few minutes walk from the premier inn. I had the salmon pasta (farfalle) the second night I had penne pasta with ham, mushrooms and cream both were delicious. I had an Irish coffee to finish and my friends had lemon tart , profiteroles and sicky toffee pudding they enjoyed them all.

Super attentive service, extensive menu and the best lasagne I’ve ever had . The team said “Made from scratch with love”. We ate it with love too! Outstanding food, super house wine and fair pricing. Premier inns loss and our gain!!! We’d recommend thoroughly. Thank you

Great substitute! The nearby Premier Inn, at the time of writing, has no evening restaurant service. This Italian restaurant saved the day. Warmly welcomed, has a sumptuous sounding menu - and the meal itself tasted delicious. The atmosphere was filled with the bright buzz of people enjoying a meal and drinks whilst sharing conversations. We liked it!

He estado yendo a Al Bivio durante años y el lugar está siempre lleno una mezcla de familias y grupos de adultos. La comida es muy bueno y el servicio excelente. Sin embargo, pensé que debía compartir mi descubrimiento última noche de la pizza "e de Buffalo sashimi" con el jamón San Daniele. Esta es la mejor pizza que he probado en años, luz, fresca y totalmente gratis comida indigesta inglesa como el queso no antes de que esté terminado.Si no ha estado antes y luego ir lo antes posible y si han sido luego probar el sashimi es fabuloso.

Me he alojado en el Premier Inn cercano varias veces mientras trabajaba en Harrogate y no sabía Al Bivio estaba allí ya que parece otro edificio de oficinas. Fui con un compañero de trabajo y tenía comida encantadora. Me wimped y fuimos para mi elección de existencias en un restaurante italiano (pizza!) que en realidad era muy bueno. Mi colega más aventureros era un poco más imaginativo - su comida parecía igualmente y bueno. No pude resistir tener desierto! Probablemente mi pecho calorías para toda la semana pero valió la pena. Fuimos en una noche bastante tranquila, así que no tuvimos ningún problema con el ruido pero puede ver cómo puede ser un problema si lo estaban ocupados. De todas maneras ... ¡Sin duda nos alojaremos en el Premier Inn nuevo, así que sin duda haremos un viaje de regreso a Al Bivio.

Staff are always friendly and the food good . The boys especially like the biscuits and chocolate dip. We have always enjoyed it .

Hace un par de años amigos nos recomendaron Al Bivio como uno de sus lugares favoritos para comer, así que ellos aquí y he vuelto cada vez que he visitado Harrogate desde entonces.Última noche seis de nosotros fuimos a cenar y una vez más no nos decepcionó, el personal es muy amable y acogedor. Teníamos salmón, Lubina, Calzone, carne stroganoff y dos de nosotros tiene el filete. Todo estaba delicioso y acompañada por una abundancia de verduras recién hechas. También nos dio en al postre, todo lo cual también fue encantador y generosas porciones.Nos encanta Al Bivio y con ganas de volver otra vez más tarde en el año en nuestra próxima visita Harrogate.

Fuimos para una comida a mediados de semana el lugar en sí estaba muy bien el personal era amable la comida estaba bien, pero no volvería por una razón. El precio de las bebidas 1 grandes 660 ml italiano más grande £6,40 por botella ... Me gusta beber con una comida pero que te timen realmente recibe mi vuelta, sé que en realidad no es relevante, pero puedes conseguir 3 botellas del mismo más grande para una fiver

Comimos aquí durante la estancia en el Premier Inn de al lado. Tuvimos que esperar 15 minutos para una mesa, pero era un viernes a la noche y no habíamos reservado, que no está nada mal. Nos sentamos en el bar con una bebida y nos dieron el menú para leer. Pero cuando nos dieron la mesa el servicio fue estupendo y la comida fue excelente. Los precios no estaban demasiado mal para la calidad. Sin duda recomiendo comer aquí si te gusta la comida italiana.

Utilizando Trip Advisor entre otras guías para encontrar un auténtico restaurante italiano, que se establecieron en Al Bivio. Por favor, no te dejes desanimar por el hecho de que está fuera Harrogate centro ... hay mucho espacio de aparcamiento o que, en principio, parece ser un carácter moderno edificio. Nada podría estar más lejos de la verdad. Este restaurante magníficamente gestionado tiene el espacio para alojar a grupos grandes, todavía conserva una única e incluso un ambiente íntimo. El personal es eficiente y amable, aunque discreto. El menú es amplio y auténticamente italiano en contraposición a Anglo italiana. Todo fue cuidadosamente preparada y bien presentada. Me gusta la comida italiana y que éste era el mejor que he probado fuera de Italia. Un enorme gracias por una noche una verdadera noche para recordar.

Me di cuenta que había un cliente miserable escribió el restaurante era ruidoso! se habían marchado suena como que él es el tipo que me encuentro en el país B&B s ese huff y esponja en el sonido de cubiertos hiting el plato!He estado viniendo aquí durante años y Albivio es una fantástica hospitalidad conducido restaurante italiano no es para quejones miserable en inglés. He vivido en Italia y me encanta el bullicio y la comida deliciosa!obtener una nueva experiencia cada vez que venga! Fantástico y lo recomiendo a todos mis amigos y familia.

The food was very tasty but the high noise level made the visit unbearable and quite painful. With so much choice in Harrogate it will take a lot to persuade me to return.

Situado en un parque de negocios, este restaurante es un poco, pero fuera del centro. Ate here after checking in to the nearby Premier Inn. Very modern looking restaurant, very friendly staff and excellent food and service.

The Italian is a little out of town, but handy for the Travelodge on the same estate. Fantastic Italian food - they dont even list the usual Italian Fare - I think they see it as so obvious - of course they can do you a Spag Bol if you want one - but they need the space on the menu to show off what they can do. My pasta dish was one of the best I've ever tasted - and I mixed it up with a Yorkshire pudding in deference to the county I was visiting.Friendly service and a bustling place on a Friday night. Definitely well worth a visit. I will be back when I'm in the area.

Very friendly staff at this restaurant. You can tell they take great pride in what they do. Excellent pasta dish with pesto. Look forward to trying other pasta dishes. The fried zucchini starter is the best one I have tried yet and I have had many. Lots of choices for gelato which was tasty. I walked up to the dessert case and was asking the Italian waiter (all 3 waiters helping us this evening were Italian I believe) about the desserts .... he explained one of the chocolate Italian desserts and cut small slices for us to try. Very nice of him and well, it was excellent. It's a chococate torte with hazelnuts and pieces of shortbread biscuit/cookie in it. I was too full so they wrapped it up for me along with some Italian chocolate to pour over it. We will definitely be back ... one of our favorite Italian restaurants now in Harrogate. It's a large restaurant so plenty of space for families with kids as well (saw highchairs).

Visited on a Friday night so the restaurant was busy. Ordered drinks, olives and bread came with these for free so a nice touch. Our starters came quickly after placing the order. The food was delicious! Pity mid way through the mains came out, the waiter clocked that we weren't finished so did a full circle round the bar with our food. He them hurried back and cleared up the starters even though with still had garlic bread left we felt under pressure to let him take it. He swiftly returned with our mains. Again can't fault the food it's by far the best Italian food iv had this year. As soon as we had put down the cutlery the waiter again swept in the clear the table. We felt it was all a bit rushed hurry hurry no time to enjoy the food. The restaurant has a full glass front so the noise bounces round to make this restaurant very loud so loud you really can't hear the person sat next to you.... Great for families but not for a quiet romantic meal..... Pity as the food is fabulous.

We love Al Bivio!! The staff are so lovely and the food always delivers. Can be a little noisy, perhaps because it is very child friendly, but it is the perfect place to take little ones with plenty of choice for junior palates as well as for hungry parents. The menu is huge!! Easy parking as its a little bit out of town but overall a great value restaurant with delicious food.

This was our second visit and on both occasions we left delighted with the fabulous pizzas.The menu has a large selection of interesting pizzas and pastas plus a dozen specials including main meat dishes. The room is bright and airy with a buzzing atmosphere. Service on both visits was prompt and attentive. The thin crust pizzas had generous helpings of toppings and were good value at between £6.60 and £10.80. Three pizzas, a large beer, 250ml glass of wine and cider came to £42.

The management have the business model spot on here. I have dined at Al Bivio for several years now even under its previous name Brio. The service and food is excellent, even when they are full. Don't be put off by some of the negative comments on Trip Advisor treat them carefully one Swallow does not make a summer. You are made very welcome here, kids too # Great Restaurant !

I have been to this restaurant at least 10 times in the last 3 years for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed by the excellent quality and friendly service!

Table booked for six on a Friday evening. The table was only partly laid, had to ask for missing items. The table was not suitable for six, and poorly located, one of our group was conscious of the traffic behind his chair all the time. The service was rushed, once we had been given our food that was it. No-one came to see what else the child in our group would like. We were only offered a dessert after my husband had left the table and paid the bill. It was very noisy. The food was ok, but I would have no desire to return.

The best thing about the meal was our waiter and the bread. The scallops would have been much better without all the fussy additions, the fish grill was ok but the rare calves liver we ordered was over cooked and hard. We sent that back and ordered cheese which was fine except that we had to finish our meal to the stench of bleach as they cleaned the kitchen. This restaurant is quite a way out of Harrogate and really not worth the trip.

Arrived at the resturant and it was like a cafe , it was very noisy , when our meal arrived it was cold , when we complained the waiter replied to me and my partner "are you sure" when we said we were sure the waiter said nothing. Will never go back again was very dissapointed after reading the reviews on the website .

I can't think of any other restaurant that compares to Al Bivio for enjoying a family meal! We visited for the first time last night and were still talking about it this morning. Other reviewers have commented on the great service, the friendly welcome and the incredible menu... but the overall experience is so much more than these things... The staff made everyone feel special, yet in a really comfortable and relaxed setting. For anyone who finds the menu 'too fancy' (my teenager!), there is an offer to make margherita pizza or any classic pasta dish. We had amazing antipasti: Fantasia di affettati and Gnocco fritto. The portions were generous and these choices would make a very satisfying lunch without needing a main course. For mains, we had various pasta dishes and the aforementioned pizza. Only the unfillable teenager managed to clear his plate! Three generations all loved everything about Al Bivio and will be seeking an excuse to go again very, very soon!

For lunch or dinner, we love coming here, whether it is for our business lunches or family dinners, the food is excellent, there's a great selection of starter, mains and desserts (the ice cream is amazing and so many flavours). There is a plentiful choice of drinks, and the service is very good. Great value for money!

You wouldn't expect a restaurant to be buzzing at 7pm on a Thursday, but we found just that in Al Bivio. It was three-quarters full of all ages - families with youngsters, couples, teens - sitting mostly inside but a few eating outside. The welcome was warm and the service throughout was friendly, brisk and very efficient. My husband I shared a starter of tuna salad, followed by bacon pizza for him and a lasagne-ish dish for me, all of which were piping hot and delicious. We found you on TripAdvisor, Al Bivio, and join your many reviewers in proclaiming our appreciation. We will definitely be returning.

Were staying at the Premier Inn, literally a stone's throw from there is this great restaurant. Family of four with two children. Friendly, swift, attentive service, but not rushed. Like the bread, olives and tapenade that was immediately brought to the table - a great idea when you have two hungry children. However we didn't have to wait long at all for the main meal to arrive.The children's portions were very generous - a large portion of spag bol and pizza was well received. Adults portions were plentiful too - and hot. Genuine Italian food served by genuine Italians. If we lived near we would definitely be regulars.

Arrived for lunch with 15 clients for a birthday party, we received good, friendly service and everyone enjoyed their food. Not much else to say, will go back.

After not visiting for a while we went last night for a family meal 2 adults and three children, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced especially the two children's meals at £7 each including drink and dessert. I recommend the Insalata Parco as a side dish which has to be the best salad I've eaten in a restaurant. Well done to Dan and staff for such consistently good food, great wine, attentive and friendly service and excellent atmosphere we will not be leaving it so long next time.

This is becoming a family favourite. The Kids love it, we love it, Good Italian food at a reasonable price. Service excellent and easy parking. Staff are attentive and you never have to wait long for drinks, ordering or service. You can't go wrong with the Lobster ravioli. delicious and great wines!Well done

Wow what a hidden gem. I picked this based on reviews and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic as was the service. Fondue was incredible and was a great sharing dish. We had the pasta with butternut squash cream and vodka which was full of flavours and textures. The caprine pizza was the best I have had for years. Only criticism was I had no room for dessert, but guess that will make me go back quicker. Although my wife still managed to finish the complimentary limoncello. Cheers!

Al bivio is brilliant - amazing wide choice of tasty dishes, lovely staff and it suits everybody from babies and children to teens and grandparents.They also offer half portions of all the dishes which is so helpful if you want to share or aren't terribly hungry.The food has been very good each time I have been and they are deservedly popular locally! Highly recommended for a delicious relaxed meal.

Continues to serve reliably great food. Have never had a bad meal here. The menu is inventive and diverse with something for every taste. The waiters are fantastic with warm welcoming smiles and attentive service. I would recommend this restaurant as one of the best Italians in the UK.

We visit this restaurant regularly on both a lunchtime and evening. The food is always good and there is plenty of choice so whatever we fancy to eat we can always find something to have. The staff are all really friendly and efficient. We will be going there again soon.

We visited Al Bivio during a recent trip with family and friends to Harrogate. It seemed well-reviewed online, so it looked ideal for our group of 8.The first thing that struck us as we entered the restaurant was the noise - due to the layout and high ceilings, it was REALLY noisy in there, even on a Wednesday evening! Not the ideal place for a romantic meal, but okay for groups and families who don't mind speaking loudly to make themselves heard.The food was very good - the kids were especially happy, as their menu included a scoop of the great selection of ice creams on offer. I had the beef ravioli, and it was delicious!Sadly, we were overcharged on the bill - somehow an extra couple of bottles of beer and a children's meal had been added. Nevertheless, this was rectified promptly by the waiter.A nice experience, slightly marred by the noise and mistakes on the bill. Check before you pay!

We had a lovely meal there it was so nice steak was so tasty all so we had tiramisu which was home made was delightful the owner & his staff where fab & could not do enough for us very friendly really good nite

After several attempts we finally got to Al Bivio. We were not disappointed. It took us a while to decide from the very extensive menu, unfortunately the gnocchi al Romagna was not on (one of my favourite pastas). However we thoroughly enjoyed our choice of dishes. My desert, the Torte Langarola was divine, chocolate heaven!! The restaurant was busy with families which give it a great atmosphere, it's very well staffed and all the staff were very pleasant. Although we live about an hours drive away we will be back

Really enjoyed our meal here the other night, nice informal dining room, lots of happy families enjoying themselves and one or two large parties having a great time ! The service was impeccable and the food delicious.I had a ham a poached fruit starter which was lovely but HUGE ! Really I should have shared it, but as my husband had his own starter , mushrooms incidentally, I bravely scoffed the lot !For main courses , I had pasta with Italian sausage, olives and red onions, again twice the amount I'd serve at home, and after the starter I did leave half of it.The waiter , and restaurant manager , both immediately checked everything was ok, such was the level of service. They certainly have their eye on the ball.My husband had what he described as 'the best pizza he's ever had' which had pear, blue cheese and walnuts on it, he's still raving on about it as I type !I think from that , you'll be seeing us again soon !

A group of 5 of us went and was pleased with the overall value of the restaurant. Food came very quick, big portions and very efficient waiters.

I took my two grandsons (9 and 11) to Al Bivio without having booked, on a Saturday evening (5.30) when they were, obviously, very busy. They were charming, found us a table and never once made us feel de trop. Despite offering the boys children's portions, they weren't phased when both ordered adult pizzas (particularly when the younger one ordered a second - children's size this time!) plus adult ice-creams with chocolate sauce. The welcome for children is something I have only seen second-hand before (I usually dine there with a friend) but their treatment is warm, genuine and excellent. Possibly, because they are made to feel part of the restaurant, all the children who do dine there seem to behave well. Something to do with the Mediterranean culture perhaps?

We found this restaurant by walking around Harrogate. We went there for a shopping trip. We both love Italian food - not pizzas!! We had 2 courses for £10.95, the food was delicious and flavoursome.. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch and good value for money.

I enjoy visiting Al Bivio for a number of reasons, the food is excellent, service is excellent, staff excellent also there is no hassle for parking. Two members of my family live in London and when they stay with me they always ask to eat at Al Bivio.Anne Murray

Situated in Hornbeam Park (business park), which is not the most inspiring place, Al Bivio succeeds where others fail (read my other reviews!) in Harrogate, which is to say they make really good pizzas.I can't remember the name of my pizza exactly, but I was slightly surprised when it came without tomato sauce (I didn't read the description properly, as mine was the exception not the rule). Instead it had more of a blue cheese sauce along with the speck ham (which was very similar to Prosciutto). Anyway it was delicious. Thin crispy bases and no soggy middles. I would probably go for a more traditional pizza next time, to see how they compare.The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable. If you want an excellent value, well cooked italian meal in Harrogate, Al Bivio is hard to beat.

This must be by far our favourite restaurant. Sometime I feel we should try other places but each time we do we feel we have been cheated. Other restaurants never come up to the same standard we have become used to with Al Bivio. The evening always begins with the warm and friendly welcome. The service and food are always, always excellent. Our 20+ (Age) children love it too, they bring boyfriends and girlfriends too. We have never, ever had a bad meal there and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

I have come a few times on a Saturday at around 6pm and the waiter has been great in squeezing us in as they get very busy and I am rubbish at booking. The food at this restaurant is amazing. I always try a different dish every time I go which is very rare for me as I am not very adventurous. However so far this has paid off and I have tried lots of lovely dishes. The service is second to none and they couldn't be more attentive. The restaurant itself is quite casual. I like that as it does not come across as too pretentious and it is a nice relaxed environment. Just wish they were open Sundays. I look forward to the next time I visit.

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday in the evening. Was quite busy and a nice atmosphere with quite a few families with children and teenagers. We ordered the two course meal deal. My husbands looked ok and he said it was fine. Mine...the peppers came with mayonnaise. That was an under statement it was swimming in the stuff . Then chicken with orange, chips and veg. Chicken was a good piece but, hardly any sauce and the chips were then end of a bag of oven chips. However, think I should have studied the menu better as the pizzas looked good and the pasta. So won't write this off,but will try again and order Italian! Wine in expensive but, very nice.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here after seeing a great review on this site and wanted to try for ourselves. The restaurant was packed and very lively, as it was so busy we thought we'd have a long wait for service but it was speedy and friendly. We were given complimentary bread and oil while we looked at the menu and eyed up what everyone else was eating. We decided to skip a starter as the portions were huge. The food was incredibly good and very reasonably priced. We were so full we could only manage to share a dessert which was shame as they all looked amazing!If there was any downside it would just be that the noise level was a little loud as it's very open plan so we were talking with slightly raised voices to be heard. There is a slightly quieter corner by the entrance which I'd recommend if you're trying to have a romantic meal.

We have only just returned home from another imaginative meal at Al Bivio. The staff are great, manager (owner?) is lovely and all seem genuinely interested that each table is getting what they need. It's not exactly a venue where you 'get to know the neighbors' despite the open-plan .. but the food is fab, one feels very well cared for and I look forward to going back again.Maybe not the best place for those with hearing issues (the open-plan makes it difficult when crowded), but the hours are flexible and choice of meal excellent .. so eat and go!

We have eaten here many times, sometimes for specific celebrations and sometimes just because. They are warm, friendly, accommodating and most of all want you to have the best experience. If you want something slightly different you only have to ask, My only slight negative comment would be .... there is too much choice!

This venue was the choice of a friend for a meal and drinks after his wife's funeral. I don't know how many people were there but there must have been 100s. Over 300 went to the funeral and others only stopped by at Al Bivio. It was a big crowd and this restaurant handled it brilliantly. I don't think they knew how many would be there. The food was very good, the service was slightly overwhelmed but good and friendly. Thank you Al Bivio for making a sad day a better day as we remembered our friend.

After spending a week touring round Yorkshire on holiday we have eaten out most nights. This has been our favourite meal so far. Lovely restaurant authentic Italian food. We have enjoyed our week in Yorkshire. Would recommend Harrogate and this restaurant.

When we travel, we tend to seek out Italian restaurants. This one is outstanding - we've returned several times on different trips. On this occasion we travelled 90 minutes to get there, and it was worth the trip. Super personal service, an extensive and unusual menu: it puts all the Italian chains to shame.

what a fantastic restaurant. from the ease of parking in the free car park, the welcome, the choice of dishes, the quality of the food and the amazing service a full 100% 5 stars. prices very reasonable and the best part every dish is available as a half portion!. open for breakfast-lunch-dinner Mon-Sat. (closed sundays). children are really made welcome and well catered for. will we go again, can't wait.

Another great family lunchtime meal. Super staff making all, including the kids, very welcome. Food is great, good quality, hot and tasty. The staff are speedy and attentive but not in your face. aside from food another big positive for this restaurant is the ease of parking outside the door. Great when you have young kids to get in and out of the car. We shall return!

I regularly eat at Al Bivio, lovely fresh food, great portion sizes, friendly staff, best chocolate mousse, clean restaurant with a good atmosphere, can't fault it, great for families!

The staff at Al Bivio always greet us with such wonderful smiles and chat and lead us to our tables. The menu is vast and the service is excellent. Over the years of eating here the food is a consistently good standard. The ambiance is lovely and cheerful and they welcome children.

My wife & I & our 9 year old daughter were staying in Leeds for the weekend. On Saturday evening we wanted to eat at an Italian restaurant. I checked out online a number that were a half hour drive and we found Al Bivio. We made a table reservation - it was a great decision - what a wonderful restaurant. The staff were so welcoming, warm and caring. The food was the best of all of the Italian restaurants that we have been to - it was VERY tasty, my wife had home-made pumpkin soup, she enjoyed it so much that she said "it's so delicious"! I had minestrone soup which was equally as delicious. The main courses we had were very tasty too.I must add that price wise, they are very reasonable too. Thank you Al Bivio for making our drive to Harrogate so worthwhile and it's ashame that you don't have a branch in London!

The food is always excellent.A great family orientated restaurant and you can park outside.Give it a try.

We have used this restaurant a lot over the years. It's a nice place to go - a typical Italian 'family friendly' place with a very stable and friendly staff. We go a lot for lunch or 'early doors' but have also taken advantage of the ability to have large parties there (30 teenagers at a birthday party was probably the biggest) and have had some very nice leisurely dinners there too. It isn't a 'propose to the intended' sort of place, but it doesn't pretend to be. We have two daughters - both now in their 20's and living in London and Cambridge. It's almost a given that when the younger one is on her way home for a weekend visit on a Friday evening from Cambridge she rings to say 'can we go to Al Biviio as soon as I arrive?' It's a great recommendation and well deserved. The food is consistently good, the service too (I have no hesitation in tipping here) and I would recommend it as an outstanding restaurant of its type.

At Al Bivio you are assured of a warm welcome and first rate service. The variety of the menu and quality of the food is a good as you might find in more expensive establishments. Danille and his team laid on a special party for my wife and myself when we entertained 30 guests from our family and friends. We good not have received a better reception and lunch and everyone commented on the excellence of the occasion.

The food and service in this restaurant is outstanding. I have had many business lunches and also family dinners here and have never had anything to complain about. The atmosphere, quality of food and service is to a very high standard, but it still feels charming and casual. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes Italian food.

We visited on a Saturday evening and shown direct to our table. A very busy restaurant but well worth the visit. The specials are worth looking at. The bill for two was very reasonable. Delighted

We travelled from Sheffield for my 21st birthday with friends who have never been to the restaurant before. We had an amazing meal that seemed really authentic! The service and staff were excellent and we would defiantly recommend this restaurant. It does not seem like it should belong in an industrial estate but the surroundings of the restaurant are lovely and it certainly does not feel like you are in an industrial estate.

Continue to use this welcoming friendly restaurant both for business and family meals. I am gluten intolerant, so their gluten free pasta option means a much wider menu choice for me than in many Italian restaurants. Have always been very satisfied.

We have been to Al Bivio about four times in the last two years as a couple and as a family. The food is brilliant if slightly pricey (certainly starters) but this is Harrogate. Great wine - love the Primitivo. And the service is friendly and relaxed while also being effective and professional. My only quibble is that it can be very noisy at peak times - late dinner is better!

Carlo and the team run a convivial warm and friendly restaurant. Regulars for family meals, my wife chose Al Bivio for my 50th birthday meal. A table for 20 ish, with all the fun of more children than adults and the waiters in their own stylish and warm way served up great food and hospitality. No Michelin stars in sight, but a warm and friendly genuine Italian restaurant run by Italian's and not part of chain

I dropped by this restaurant for a short business lunch recommended by a friend. Wow, what a place. If it was this good at lunchtime I can't wait for an evening visit! I was told this place is very friendly for families and the service from the staff would back this up. I just thought to mention - don't put be put off by exterior appearances. This restaurant sits in a business park, but once you are inside it is a different place.Also, it is only a couple of minutes walk from Hornbeam station - good if you have a couple of glasses :)

The Pizzas (3) and pasta (1) we ordered were all just about ok. Home made crumble was a bit bland but the ice cream was lovely. The staff kept asking if we wanted our leftovers wrapping up to take away - NO!! We're local and hoped that we'd found a reasonably priced regular haunt but unfortunately it was not to be and I doubt we'll go back.

1st time visit. Excellent service, bright and spacious environment.Started with complimentary bread and olives. Starters, off the 'Daily Specials' (£5-£6) were freshly cooked, plentiful and tasty. Mains of pasta and pizza (£10), the missus thought it was the best pizza (Florentina) she'd had in a very long time.Daughter and Dad couldn't eat all of our pizza and was offered boxes, no need to ask. Children menu priced at £7 but as little one didn't have pudding only charged £3.50.Would definitely recommend and will be coming back (from Otley).

Well we found it.menu choice good food very very tasty and hot. atmosphere brilliant and friendly staff.very busy so must be popular advise to book.easy walking distance from where we stayed at the Old Swan.woiuld go again if ever in Harrogate

Just popped in here for a flying lunch last week. A large and modern Italian restaurant in a rather unlikely setting on the southern edge of Harrogate. Our order was taken quickly and food and drinks arrived promptly. We only had one course which was hot and very tasty. The menu was quite extensive and there was a good buzz about the place. Would like to have given a more extensive test! It suited our needs at the time and I would recommend it.

Came across this fabulous restaurant yesterday evening when we were staying at the nearby Premier Inn. We are vegetarian and were impressed by the wide range of dishes on offer. The service, food and general atmosphere were excellent. We look forward to eating here again the next time we are in Harrogate.

We dined here as part of a very large group and not one of us were disappointed. This is a huge open space restaurant, with a menu so vast even the fussy people should be able to find something to eat. I myself had the Linguine alla Marinara and it is up there with one of the nicest Italian meals I have had to date. Would love to visit again.

Staying in a Premier Inn on the edge of a business park, where do you eat? The attached 'plastic pub' or a takeaway? As we walked through the business park in search of a takeaway we saw what we thought was a kitchen showroom so went to look in the window....and found Al Bivio. The menu looked interesting, as did the modern showroom/office-like building, so we booked. We arrived early evening having our one year old with us, the staff were welcoming, the restaurant was spacious and very quiet, but soon filled up with families with children of all ages. The atmosphere was like those great family restaurants you get in Italy, there was a happy buzz of people enjoying themselves, the service was genuinely friendly, efficient and without exception, the staff went beyond what was expected making an evening of lovely food so much more than just a good meal. The restaurant gradually changed in character with familys being replaced by couples as the evening progressed and the lights dimmed; despite the now packed and busy tables, as we left the staff thanked us and made a fuss of our little girl. The staff are of all nationalities which adds to the cosmopolitan feel, the service is smooth, the food is excellent, the portions generous and the relaxed friendly atmosphere make this place somewhere we cannot recommend highly enough. You expect a burger or sandwich van on a business park, you do not expect a fabulous restaurant. Al Bivio is a surprise find, and a very welcome one!

On a Saturday night the place was packed with families who all seemed to be having a great time so they obviously serve what the customers want.From our point of view that means food that is over salty and over sweet. Perhaps the kids think it is like a lunch box of crisps and Kit-Kats!I am not sure what a fair rating is as the price is reasonable and the portions huge and taste is a personal thing. But we eat at competitors such as Carluccios, Jamies Italian and so on and they are mainstream but do not serve food this sweet. Do not get me wrong I like puddings and usually finish my partners but on this occasion we both left quite a lot as they were so sickly. My main of veal was completely dominated by salty proscuito and my partners chicken salad smothered in sweet red "sauce". Strange to read the glowing reviews, does not seem like the same place to me.

We were visiting family in the Harrogate area and they happen to be regulars at this restaurant so we decided to meet here. We ALL had the most fabulous meal. The restaurant has a very extensive menu and it is all very good value. The staff are really funny, lovely and helpful and the whole experience was great. Puddings are terrific but BIG - if you are already full it may be an idea to share a pudding as we had to leave quite a lot of ours as we all had one each. Divine!!

Friendly, welcoming staff. First class, home made pasta. Fish to die for - succulent and fresh. Meltingly light veal. Just perfect.

Great food, we eat here quite frequently as it is very local to us. But the regularity of our visits varies as the food does. Sometimes we go and it is not great so leave it a while but then revisit and it is great again. It is a bit of a random location on hornbeam park business park but it is great for family celebration or local dinner so you do not have to drive. Shame about the food pictures on the wall - these need to go!

Not only is it the friendly staff, the huge welcome they give to children or the easy parking that draws us back time and time again but the food is FANTASTIC!. Its very low key, but they take pride in the food they serve. Its tasty, fresh, hot and well presented. If you are looking for a chain type Italian you will be disappointed. This place are much better and price a little higher to take account of this fact. I hope they continue to do just what they do so well. Don't change a thing!

ive been here now 7 or 8 times,never had any complaints. the service is amazing,the waiters are excellent with kids and cant do enough to help you. my kids love it here too. been here different times and days and they are always consistent however busy it is. brilliant!!

I only chose this Restaurant because it had so many positive reviews. I am pleased to say it lived up to it's good reviews.We went Saturday night, booked in fairly last minute. The restaurant was busy. No doubt this is a popular place.The Staff were excellent, really prompt & efficient service. Friendly, helpful & all polite. Really makes a refreshing change.We shared the Calamari Fritti to start with, it was very nice & sufficient for two.Actually most dishes are reasonably priced & good value.I had the Lobster ravioli for my main course & struggled to finish it. You don't get skimpy portions here too which is nice.My Dad had the Fish platter (one of the pricer mains) but came with side salad & veg & we had Fries. Again plenty of food & it was really nice.The best part was the Dessert! I had the Lemon Posset & it was excellent!! Great value & absolutely delicious.The Wine was great too & again very sensibly priced.I will definitely go back. I really can't fault anything.Just shows that good food at reasonable prices works. This place was really busy. On site free car parking too, always a bonus.Keep up the great work, look forward to my next visit.

We often come to Al Bivio to eat and whilst the early evening can occasionally be busy with families and children, the food quality and service is always friendly, first rate and good value. On this occasion we were looking to bring 17 people for a special three course meal together. The owner couldn't have been more helpful in planning a menu of three starter options, four mains and then a choice of three desserts to make on the night. Prosecco would be served on arrival with some canapes. We all arrived at 6pm and a special area had been created and screened off with plants. The canapes werre delicious and the prosecco was nicely chilled. All ot the guests were delighted with the food quality, and the service was really well organised and attentive so that the 17 choices we'd notified in advance were all served at the same time rather than some having to wait. My speido di gamberoni were outstandingly tasty for the starter and the fegato con pancetta was delightfully flavoursome for the main. The wine choices of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese Rubicone worked really well. It was a great experience and the restaurant couldn't have done more to help us. A great evening!.
