Booked here as we had theatre tickets across the road. Large well decorate restaurant. Service swift and professional. Food very good, worth a second visit

Absolutely amazing food and service, very welcoming atmosphere

Well this place laughed all the wayvto the bank after laughing at all of us who trusted them to deliver a cracking new year. Place was over booked from 7pm. Tables too close together. Too many people rammed round tables. Lack of service I.e. not enough staff. Loads of people left without table. Turn went on 2 hours late. NB no fault of turn he was in venue on time! Midnight fireworks spent before even getting out of resteraunt. Overall only the owner will be smiling at how much money he extracted for providing so little......the joke will be on him next year when no one books.....or only the stupid...in which case all will be happy. By the way that was my first visit to this restaurant and on average I spend around 5k in italian restaurants over the year......this one will not be getting a penny more out of me so congrats on your rip off new year party!!!!

worst steak I’ve had in my entire life

Went with my partner for New Years Eve, and we were exceptionally disappointed. The food was very poor, my partner ordered a steak and asked for it medium, but when it arrived it was well done. No staff to be seen anywhere. We were there for just over an hour, and was only asked once if we wanted drinks (which was when we first arrived), so we unfortunately had to eat our food without drinks. When I finally got a member of staff attention, he said he’d be back in a minute. He then came back 10-15 minutes. Rather than ordering drinks, we got the bill and left. To say this cost almost £100, it was exceptionally poor and will not be returning.

Super New Year's Eve at Dolce Vita. Very busy but food and drinks were served in good time, food quality was very good. Elvis was fantastic, a very good night, well recommended. Thank you.

Well what can I say? At least the 1 star is worth it as the food was quite good. However pile them high ram them in and treat them like sh1t is obviously the moto for the evening! Squeezed in tighter than 2 coats of paint, less staff than would serve 10 normally. Elvis show advertised as 9pm started at 11pm! Fireworks at midnight well unfortunately we didn't get out of the restaurant to see them or new year in. The whole night couldn't have been more disorganised if you tried!!!! Will not be going back again that is for sure!!!

Absolutely beautiful food & very attentive staff. We dined here this afternoon (NYE) after the panto which ran over so we were late for our booking! They didn't bat an eye lid despite them being very busy. We had food from the specials menu, the normal menu & the kids menu. The food was all freshly cooked & delicious & reasonably priced too. Thank you for a beautiful birthday meal for my Husband, we will be back in the new year 😊

Really poor, had to wait to be seated right next to the bar. We waited next to an empty table, then 15 minutes later were welcomed to our table....the one we'd been stood next to for 15 minutes. The waiters were rude and inattentive and acted like we were an inconvenience. The food was mid. Mine honestly was terrible but others looked alright. I got a chicken parm which CLEARLY had been under heat lamps for a good while. Paid an extra 3 quid for fries and 4 quid for a coke. Best part of 30 quid for a main meal sat under the lights. Now you might think I'm being over the top but I have photo evidence of my sad, sad chicken parm.

Table booked and we were seated immediately, at first service was good , however due to the restaurant been busy all staff were running around , it was chaotic. Food was average, didn't take long to arrive, obviously remade and reheated. Bill arrived, service charge added when I asked for this to be removed the service changed...... the male member of staff was quite rude with his tone We did give a tip however

A great menu with lots of choices to suit all tastes. Served quickly and professionally. The food was delicious. I had the salmon and my husband the mussel risotto. Would have given 5 stars if the restaurant had been warmer! We were sat by a radiator which was cold and although we would have liked to have ordered coffee , we just wanted to get home! Such a shame,

Visited early Sunday evening after a great afternoon of music just over the road at Venue 23 . Four lads with big appetites decided against the usual curry for something a little different , and wow, we will be back . Staff, atmosphere and surroundings excellent . Men’s loo spotless which is always a good sign . Food top class and great value for money . When the four rib starters arrived we all looked at each other and grinned. Each plate packed with ribs in bbq sauce , and unbelievably I didn’t manage to throw it all down my shirt for once . Was pleased to see a varied menu but not too big . The others pasta and lasagna were finished eagerly , while I was surprised at the amount of seafood topping on my pizza . Still managed a dessert each and were all left rather full . We will return ,no doubt with partners in tow. To anyone visiting Wakefield / venue 23 , if food is on the menu give this place a visit you won’t be disappointed

Terrible. The head server kept us waiting by the bar only to seat us 15 minutes later at the table we were stood next to. We had to flag a waiter down to order food. They decided to add a side of fries for the table (and charged us) Food was mediocre. When we asked our waiter about missing items he said he wasn't the one who took the order. Just ordered for collection. Carbonara was clearly missing vital ingredient. Lasagna slopped into tin tray. All food tasted crap and presented awful. How do you mess up simple food? Shouldn't of been served it. Will never return and will tell family & friends.

Decided to go on a trip from Leeds to Wakefield to visit family and booked this last minute, how we managed to get a table on a Saturday I don't know! When we arrived the place was buzzing, but the 5 of us were swiftly shown to our table. This place is a geniune Italian run by Italians and you can feel it, live piano music, waiters offering excellent service and fresh fresh food. I love my calamari and I had this for starter. In so many places this is a disappointment, but wow! Dolce Vita - 11/10! Superb! Lovely crisp batter covering succulent and clearly very fresh calamari. I even thanked the Waiter I was that impressed! I followed with prawn linguine which was lovely! The others in the party also had great food! If I am ever back in Wakey...I will definitely go back!

The restaurant is beautiful, all staff were absolutely wonderful and it was such a welcoming atmosphere! I took my mum there for her birthday today, they were wonderful with my mum on her special day! Not to mention the food was top tier, I have no complaints and I will definitely be going again! Been twice now, fillet steak very nice, staff good with kids

We visited early on a Saturday evening before our theatre trip. The restaurant is bright, clean and inviting. It wasn't very busy, with several mostly couples and one large group of about 12 people. The food was excellent, I enjoyed my pizza and the pasta dish was good too. The service was rather slow however. I think due to them only having two chefs working in the open kitchen. Our drinks were nearly finished, so I had to ask for someone to come and take our food order. The service was friendly, although the staff gave the impression of being under stress. The food was really good when it arrived. I'd say we will give this restaurant another chance, it just felt like they were short staffed on the day we visited this time.

Lovely food, We had the stroganoff and a Pizza both cooked perfectly, followed by crème brûlée, delicious! Friendly staff with great service. Nice relaxed Sunday evening dinner just what we were looking for!

We visited on a Tuesday. The restaurant is very large and was nearly empty. The atmosphere because of this alone, was not good.We had starters, mainly, puds, coffee and on̈e beer. Wow! Very over priced for Peroni. The food was excellent but for 2 of us it was only £3.00 short of £100.00. 8n our opinion it was expensive for what we had. But that takes nothing away from the food quality and very professional attentive service. Hence the reason for a 4* review.

We had a delicious lunch with friendly and helpful staff, and were perfectly happy with the bill. The carbonara was the best I hav3 eaten. Pizza and calzon3 were also great

spacious, classy restaurant, professional hard working staff , speedy efficient service , a little more expensive than most but you can taste the quality , worth the extra. The scallops for starters were outstanding , will definitely be returning soon .

I just had dinner here, bolognese with prawns as extras. Got the bill and I was charged the starter price of £10.95 for 3 pieces of prawns. I’ve been here a few times, placed same order and was charged about £5 for these prawns as extras. When I inquired about the charge, I was told « we charge it as a starter, that’s what we do ». I’m appalled cuz my bolognese was £11. Meaning, I just ate a plate of bolognese the same price as three pieces of prawns. Also, how can a pint of lemonade be £4.25, only 20p less than a bottle of Kopparberg?

This place is lively and was pretty busy when we went however having had the food I can fully understand why it gets busy. The food was amazing and the staff were great, if you're reading this then you should go and try it for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Very disappointed with our visit tonight. When booking I informed them it was my little girls Birthday and also mentioned it upon arrival. We waited 20mins to order drinks, a further 20mins to order food and throughout our meal we ordered drinks twice that never arrived however appeared on our bill. The food was amazing as usual however very disappointed with the slow and lack of service to say the restaurant wasn't that busy. And then how do you explain to your little girl that when we have eaten there before they have sang happy Birthday to people yet they didn't to her???

An excellent Italian restaurant serving fresh and tasty pasta. The penne bolognese was freshly made and incredibly tasty. Good value and highly recommended.

This is the 3rd time of visiting this restaurant, the food arrived quite quickly and the pizzas were lovely but I had the pasta with pancetta, onions, chillies and garlic in, the taste was lovely but the pancetta was just strips of fat which I left on the side for the waiter to see. After receiving our meals no one came over to ask if our meal was ok until we had finished, when we were asked if everything was ok I replied “it was nice but not happy to have all that fat in my meal” to which the waiter replied “oh yeh” that was their response! No apology or anything then it felt like we’d been totally ignored as no one came to the table to get the bill. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely restaurant and food is generally very good, but you can’t serve pancetta which are just strips of fat.

Decided to try for the first time after doing some research on Trip Advisor and seeing so many positive reviews. They’re not wrong! Went for a family birthday meal and had a fantastic experience, all enjoyed our food and agreed we’d be back to celebrate the next birthday. Really attentive service, friendly and welcoming owner and staff and I’ll mention the food again - all of our Italian favourites done really well. We’ll be back!

Impressed with this Italian restaurant. Food was authentic and freshly prepared, seating comfortable with a good atmosphere and genuine Italian pop music to listen to! Staff couldn't be faulted and I look forward to returning.

Been visiting here now for lunch on a Friday for several weeks. Working my way through the pasta menu, so far all have been excellent. Lobster Ravioli today was delicious. Looking forward to the next visit. Waiting staff very efficient. 5*****

This is two reviews in one as we have visited here twice in the last couple of weeks. You always get a warm welcome here from either one of the friendly waiting staff or the boss, if he happens to be in. First visit we both had the steak dolce vita with blue cheese and red wine sauce. Exceptional. The meat served here is of top quality and it’s a long time since I’ve eaten every bit of my fillet steak. A prime piece of meat and you have chefs who know how to cook it. The second visit we both had a chicken dish Pollo Atlantico with king prawns and lobster sauce. Again quality meat and good portions. Neither courses come with any vegetables so you have to add on separately, but these are always generous portions and plenty to choose from. Had a glass of primitivo with the meal and again the quality is excellent. Some wines by the glass can be sadly lacking but not here. Price of the meal I would say is reasonable and you never feel rushed to leave. Surroundings here are pleasant and restaurant nice and light. Overall any visit here is going to be a highlight. If you haven’t visited yet make it top of your list to try.

We expected the usual churned out Italian food that you expect to get in chain restaurants, but thankfully we got tasty authentic food that you could tell it wasn't just a cheap tin of tomatoes they had opened. Attentive waiters and a generous host all set in sophisticated surroundings.

5th time we have eaten at Dolce Vita Wakefield and we have loved it every single time. Fabulous staff, excellent choices on menus and specials boards, amd very vibrant atmosphere, throughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

A very pleasant italian restaurant in Wakefield. Nr 1 in the city.

Popped in on a Monday evening before a theatre visit. The waitress was absolutely lovely and assured us she could have us out in time for the show. We ordered bread & olives to start which included the most delicious Foccacia. The Penne Carbonara was SO delicious and my daughters pizza was also a hit. We really enjoyed our meals and got to the theatre in plenty of time! Will definitely be going back.

What a fantastic evening with good friends. Dolce Vita is a lovely restaurant that offers a nice selection of starts and mains. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. Nice touch with the complimentary flat breads to start and the Lemon Cello to finish. Thank you to all the staff.

Very Slow service ended up ordering the next drinks as we we received the first ones or we were left waiting like we were for the food order. some of the food order was beautiful, but some was so not , and then to top it they charged us for one scoop of ice cream in a cup with a candle in it for my partner birthday that we hadn’t even ordered and the bill was wrong in there favour I might add. Will definitely not be going back

I ordered a vegetarian pasta meal, when my pasta came I asked the waiter if it was the pasta I’d preordered as we were with a group and he said yes after I showed him a picture of the order! I started eating this meal and it had pancetta in it, being a Muslim this has disgusted me and I definitely won’t be visiting again! A different waiter confirmed this was not a vegetarian dish and took it away to replace with one without meat. Although they were quick and efficient I am disgusted at my initial meal!

Incredibly tasty! Our appetizers included calamari and King prawns, followed by Fillet Stroganoff , Funghi Stroganoff & Dolce Vita Pizza for the main course. The dishes were made with fresh ingredients and bursted with incredible flavors. The main courses were generously sized. The atmosphere was delightful, the restaurant itself was charming, and the music added a tasteful touch. Highly recommend.

New years family meal food was lovely and atmosphere was great! Unfortunately what did let it down was the bill when put on a £13;57 service charge which is NOT compulsory and the waitress made us pay it. We would of gladly left a tip but angered me how the bill was produced at £135.70 But wanted us to pay £149.27 and said if we paid £70 each it wouldn’t cover the bill which I corrected the waitress about and I contested & said it’s not compulsory for service charge.I paid it & she totally ignored me So on this note which I would have booked my husbands 50th for at least 15 people have lost that booking now !

It seems to be a dog friendly restaurant. As two dogs in the restaurant one being a service animal - which I didn't mind. Ordering was a little slow and repetitive as was asked by 4 different staff if we like a drink, to which we had ordered and was still awaiting but when the food came out it was delicious, credit to the chief's.

Booked a table for 7 people. They gave us a table for 6 and then didn’t bother to add the required extra chair. After waiting 5 minutes or so we had to get one ourselves. Had to ask for some of the 7th persons cutlery too. Unusual especially noting we booked ahead and that they acknowledged upon seating us that we needed another chair and cutlery etc. Aside from this the food was great, I had a calamari starter and prawn linguine. It was enjoyable and a really reasonable price. The food and friendliness of the waiters is what brought the experience up from the below par start. Other thing to note is the waiters could do with making them selves available for customers to ask for drinks etc between meals as could only ever get there attention when they were bringing our food/drink over to the table or when they were collecting our plates.

Google had asked me to update my review. Still as good as every. I have a new favourite, spinach and cheese ricotta ravioli ❤️ ...... If service is what you need in life then Dolce Vita Wakefield will exceed your expectation My niece fell asleep, just before we arrived. They gave us a large sofa table to help her sleep. When she woke up feeling cranky, the attention the staff gave her made her laugh and smile. Thank you for her complimentary ice cream. Food was exceedingly good, especially the mussels, fresh calamari and fresh pasta

Good food, but very loud music and very slow service. Waited an hour for our drinks, and then had to find a waiter to order our desserts after they dropped off menus and never came back. Not the best, but food was pretty good.

The staff are really friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming and its a nice building to be in. The choice of food is quite extensive, but its also pretty pricey. £15 for 6 bits of ravioli is not what I would call value for money. The side salad at £3.50 was more substantive, in my opinion. I would have had the chicken parmigiana, but at £18 for just the chicken and that's all you get, nothing on the side at all, it's a little rich for me. There are other places in Wakefield where you get a lot more food for that money. Which is a shame, as its just round the corner from the hotel and could have been a regular place

Absolute gem of a place the food is always spot on, the service is always great. The atmosphere is always very nice and prices reasonable with options for most budgets. Great value when you factor in all the above. Have eaten here several times and never disappointed.

We moved to the area around 18 months ago and this was our 1st visit to Dolce Vita. The atmosphere, service and food were all fantastic. My wife, myself and my 7 year old daughter loved it. We’ll be back soon!

Excellent venue, located right next to car park. Good choice of menu and food arrives piping hot. Service very prompt too - certainly recommend.

As much as the food was lovely there were long gaps in between service just didn't seem like there were enough staff in attendance.

1st visit. Food was lovely, really tasty and done differently with little twists that enhanced the dishes. Service was OK but little slow and we were served by I think the whole team.. different server every time. I'd definitely recommend and we will be going back.

Cant fault this place, its the 3rd visit Ive made for work. Service is quick, friendly but not pushy, the food it absolutely pitch perfect every time and every dish. There is a great menu choice and a specials board, and drinks are great It was also very good value we thought
