We didn't find anything not to like. The food, service and staff was faultless! Complete with ample parking space outside.

Dined here on a weekday evening. The team were extremely welcoming and we found an extensive menu choice of food and drink. The portions were huge and extremely tasty. We felt the meal to be good value. We definitely recommend this and look forward to a revisit when next in the area.

We've been going to Prego for many years and the food and service has always been brilliant. Everything on the menu is always delicious and fresh with the pizza's from the wood fired oven being delicious (we've had both eat in & take away)! Probably our favourite restaurant.

We came here tonight without booking and were welcomed like old friends. Such an wonderful and friendly service The food was out of this world! The best Italian we’ve had. The old sad thing is we were only visiting the area. The locals are very lucky! Would quite happily travel back again though.

The food was exceptional, the staff all really friendly but not intrusively so, and upstairs was lovely with a little music in the background (not too loud).

Lovely authentic Italian resteraunt, watch the chef make your pizza in front of you as you wait for your food. The staff were great, toilets upstairs have a very blingy toilet seat and we're very clean. Plenty of paid parking outside and close to other pubs and bars.

Fantastic Pizzeria, excellent customer service. We’ve had a quick Dinner at this lovely restaurant. We’ve had Carbonara and three different Pizzas. They were all delicious. Service was friendly and quick. We’ll definitely be back if we are around the area.

We had a delicious meal here. Food was delicious and served very quickly! Some people have mentioned bread being added to the bill however it wasn’t for us although a 10% service charge was added. The prices were reasonable though so on this occasion we felt the service charge was justified.

What a gem this restaurant is. I have eaten there a number of times now and had pizza. Absolutely excellent every time. Well worth a visit.

On Tue 19th Dec, i dined in with friends the food was excellent, unfortunately the only toilet is upstairs (No lift) which was a big problem for my disabled friend. You need bear this in mind before booking.

Not had chance to review this place but I was looking to book an Italian meal in Wakefield then remembered my last debacle with this place. Booked a meal for 8pm, turned up at 7.45 to be told it would be a while because there were still people eating at our 'designated' table! Not great, won't book again ! Poor service and poor staff attitude and to top it off we were stood in the doorway while we decided to find a better place to eat !

As always the food was very good, as was the service. The only gripe we had was with unexpected charges. We were offered bread and dips pre order and gladly accepted. The disappointment came with the bill, noticing that we’d been charged £3 for this. Similarly, there was a service charge added for just 2 covers that came to over £5. I can’t see this on their website or menu. Tables of 6 or more I can understand but this is a little out of order for my liking. It just takes the edge off a very pleasant experience. The owner can cover these charges in other ways that wouldn’t put some customers off.

We are regular visitors as we knew the owner from many years at Rinaldis. We often get emails offering 20% off which means we can come more regularly. Last night there was some confusion over the 20% and we were charged for 2 course meals which we hadn’t had. We had shared a garlic tomato bread and had 3 pizzas. We queried the bill but it was as though they didn’t want to give us it. As a result, the young girl tried to sort it and even though the bill was cheaper than the previous bill, £6.15 service charge had been added. We’ve been coming here since the restaurant opened and I’ve never been charged service charge as I always leave a tip. So in the end the 20% was a waste of time and was barely a saving. The stress of sorting it all out was such a hassle so won’t be going now. There was an older guy there who may have been the manager but he didn’t say anything about it. When we left, nobody said goodbye or thank you. Disappointing.

All our food was absolutely delicious and plenty of it too! It was a great venue for our birthday celebration but a little quiet as it was a Thursday evening, hence the 4 stars, but no problem for our lively group of 6 ladies. We'll done Prego!

Nice Italian restaurant. Large car park (p&d). Good service and decent food. For three pizzas and a fish dish with drinks we paid £80. Service charge automatically added to bill.

Ordered a pizza for 1800 pick up. Picked up at 1758. On arrival home found pizza to be Luke warm GOOD PIZZA SPOILT!!

We called for tea after work. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is very nice. A little piece of Italy in middle of wakey. P.S. The bread and dips were an unexpected surprise.👍👍 We look forward to seeing you again soon Regards Mark & Claire

Popped into the pizzeria without a booking as we were passing by on a wonderfully sunny evening. Table for two was made available straight away. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had the opportunity to watch the chef prepare our pizza and watch it cook in the wood fuelled pizza oven. The pizza was amazing. My partner had the tagliatelle with king prawns which was excellent. Enough flavour throughout but not too much to overpower the actual taste of the prawns

We go here often as it’s usually easy to get a table at short notice and the staff are friendly. Consistently good food and wine, and a wood fired pizza oven… what’s not to like. After dinner there’s great beer next door at the Printworks to finish the night off.

We’ve not been to Prego for a while as we’ve been trying other restaurants in Wakefield but glad we came back here as the food was fabulous, better than others we have tried. The service was excellent, our waitress was lovely. We came on a Tuesday early evening and it was quite busy which was good to see. Will definitely be coming back

As always this venue doesn’t ever fault to please we had home delivery beautiful food pasta pizza a d garlic mushrooms that they even accommodated to my husbands food intolerance well worthy of any take away food please give it a try 😊

Great food ,Great staff ,Manager caused chaos and messed up the bill completely we booked in advanced even supplied our food choices and he still couldn't work it out .even though everyone paid for what they had we ended up with £20+ left which kind of spoiled things .Not impressed shame

Fantastic meal, the waitress was lovely and very efficient. We had garlic bread, calamari and Italian sausage for starters and then cannelloni and pizza’s for main, all were very fresh and couldn’t fault anything, highly recommended

Came here for a meal prior to going to the Theatre. Very warm welcome and lovely atmosphere. All had starters, mains and deserts and all were fantastic! Perfectly cooked and presented, Service very efficient and friendly also top quilailty fresh ingredients. Honestly can't fault anything. Just a warning though...... make sure you're hungry as generous potions. Used to go to Dolce Vita but this is now our first choice for a meal when going to the theatre.

Dined at this lovely restaurant tonight, 3 of us had pizzas, lasagna, desserts and drinks, fab food and excellent value for money. The staff are all very attentive, will be visiting again very soon.

What a great find in Wakey. Went early to have the set menu, and was lucky to get a table, Prego is very popular! Every dish was excellent and a generous size. Yeah was my birthday Sunday and my partner and I just had to come here to celebrate as we can't recommend pregos enough the food here is just the best and made totally fresh, perfectly handmade pizzas by Migoslav and real tasty pasta by Cem. The manager Akin is so welcoming and has great knowledge of the wine we had, there all just wonderful they are and we always look forward to going when we can x

I ordered to the calamari for starters and what can I say I've never tried using a knife and fork to cut through elastic bands some rings I was unable to cut through. Credit where credit is due the batter was faultless, light and crispy. A pizza for main, the pizza a was burnt and raw at the same time, the closer to the center the colder it got. I love the burnt bubbly bits on pizza bread but beyond that is was visibly uncooked. I'm no pizza chef but I would have the heat down and leave food in a. Little longer to cook through. Also the chef and manager should taste thr foof from time to time, if they are worthy of running a restaurant they will know where to improve. Also went for the early bird but got charged full price, I couldn't wait tot get out so I just paid.

Had 2 margherita pizzas delivered. A little more expensive than most places, but you get what you pay for, and they were absolutely beautiful. Homemade, stone baked base that was crispy on the outside and light and fluffy in the middle. Sauce was homemade and fresh, seasoned with oregano. You won't find many better pizzas than this in Wakefield.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, helpful friendly staff / made a family birthday very special - thank you! Booking was really straightforward. It was no trouble to bring out our birthday cake and the staff were kind towards an overexcited 3 year old.

Excellent food and very friendly service. Went before 18.30 to take advantage of the 2 course deal, it is great value for money. Had the king prawn starter, the prawns were very well cooked. Vesuvius open calzone for main which was very tasty.

We went in for a nice meal and we love the place we were greeted by friendly staff and it was really cosy and smelled amazing and we sat right next to the pizza bar and watched our food being cooked. We had a starter and a main and both meals were delicious. I have fish cakes and my hubby had pate and they were both perfectly cooked and had so much flavour. For mains I had the risotto vegetali and my hubby had the meat feast pizza the were big portions and perfectly cooked and we even took some home we were that stuffed. Would highly recommend and we will be going back soon :-)

Absolutely superb restaurant. First time here for me with a good friend who has visited quite a few times in the past. I had the Americano Pizza and have to say it is one of the very best pizzas I have had in a long time. It was cooked to perfection in the wood fired oven by the chef, right in front of the table we were sitting at. My friend had a steak and was also really impressed. The service was excellent and it was a very reasonable price. If you have never been to Prego, you must give it a try. Highly recommended. We will be back soon I hope.

Booked for a pre-theatre meal, Friendly welcome as we arrived. Drinks orders and Menus taken. We both decided on Pizza and pudding if enough room after wards. Marinara , Neopolitan pizzas were both excellent, perfectly prepared in front of our eyes. I can honestly say they were the best pizzas we've had anywhere. I manged to squeeze in a tiramasu which was devine. Coffee and lemoncello. Service throughout was excellent, we will return.

Lovely place a little small but quaint. Staff are very Friendly and welcoming. They cannot do enough for you. The fresh homemade bread and dips are a nice touch. We watched the pizza and bread being made by the lovely chef 😋 we will definitely be going again i highly recommend this little place and I will be trying the take out.

Fantastic service and fantastic meal

I can honestly say best pizza I have had in many a year. The sea food risotto was perfect just the right amount of chilli. Will we be back "Of Course" must mention the staff who were spot on.

We tried to get in here last time we visited the theatre but couldn’t get a table which is a good sign of how popular this place is. This time, we booked a couple of days in advance. It is only a small restaurant but its location is perfect, just across the road from the Royal Opera House and Theatre. We hadn’t realised beforehand but we had timed it nicely for the early bird menu, which is even served on a Friday evening. We ordered and whilst we waited for our staters we were brought a platter with warm freshly baked bread and three different dips. The pizza chef has an open kitchen and we sitting next to it watching him making the pizzas. My wife commented to him on how delicious the bread was. Service was friendly, very good and prompt. We had starters, main course and a bottle of wine. The food was piping hot, plentiful and excellent. We were so full that there was no way that we could have managed to eat a desert. We finished with two large cups of cappuccino and whilst we were drinking these, the pizza chef gave us a warm loaf of the home made bread in a gift bag to take away. What a lovely man and what a nice gesture. If we lived nearer, we would eat there every week and we will definitely return. This was a great start to a lovely evening.

Not been in for ages (covid) but still as good as I remember...

Cosy and sophisticated. Lovely complimentary bread. Had Penne Arribiatta which was ok but lacked any taste of chillies which that dish is meant to contain. The pizza oven produced some great looking calzones which i aim to have next time.

On past experiences I would give it a 5 but both myself and my husband had pizza this time and they were soggy. We both left at least half and on this experience wouldn't order pizza again. We were asked at the beginning if they were alright but we hadn't really had time to test them! My son in law had Lasagne and my daughter had a seafood pasta and their meals were delicious!

Celebrated a birthday in Wakefield and came here on a Saturday evening for a meal. We both went for the 2 course special which includes some Italian favorites all prepared fresh and tasting delicious. Sitting down stairs is recommended as such a theatre is created with the wood burning fire with chef doing his thing right there in front of you. Staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wine and of course very friendly like the rest of the good people of Wakefield. Looking forward to coming back!

We visited Prego yesterday after visiting the Wakefield Theatre Royal to see the wonderful Beauty and the Beast panto. The restaurant is very clean, tidy with a really friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and ready to help. There were 8 of us in total. Some of us ordered pizza and some pasta dishes. The kids had pizza, when these turned up they were incredibly generous portions which the kids couldn’t finish and they boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. The food was beautiful. All of us, apart from the kids, cleared our plates and some of us ordered desserts ( I’d highly recommend the Tiramisu). When we asked for the bill they brought lollipops for the kids. Overall a wonderful service, great food in a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back

We ate at Prego for the first time last night and were absolutely amazed. Lovely friendly service and absolutely delicious food. It is fascinating to be able to watch the pizzas being made. Will be back when we are able to order wine by the bottle instead of the glass.
