Went for a quick meal with friends before visiting the theatre. The staff were more than happy to find a table for us on the off chance there was availability. The food was amazing and the service was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely perfect place for a lovely lunch, would love to visit again. Food was all made fresh, staff were lovely and friendly, excellent value for money, just excellent all round.

Really nice meal with family and great value on the Easter menu. Had a small delay with one dish, but was dealt with and well recovered. Highlight of the night was a young man called Logan who was excellent. It was clear he was early in his career, but he was professional, polite and was there whenever we needed him

I have to give them one star as I was treated really bad by the employees when I ordered take away today. The owner should consider training its staff as it shouldn’t be a place for racism.

There were 10 of us and everyone enjoyed the meal they ordered. The service was good and the atmosphere was welcoming. The place was on the cold side but as it filled up with people it warmed up. A very nice evening all in all

Love this place! We go frequently and I realised I’d never reviewed it! Always a lovely atmosphere, food lovely, pizza bases a bit thick for me so it’s not what I get but my son likes them! Drinks nice, average price, really good with family/ kids.

Visited this restaurant after recommendation from relatives. Firstly it was cold inside the restaurant and felt colder upstairs. Waited 35 mins for starters and to be fair the garlic mushrooms were nice. The mains were not long after and I ordered the calzone carne . It was over cooked , dry, and generally tasteless. The dough was tough and chewy. Probably the worst calzone I have ever had. Very disappointed. Plus side , staff very nice and attentive.

Incredible pizza, lovely staff, able to change certain parts for dietary requirements, excellent phone ordering. The only downside is due to the pizza being made there is a small wait however during the wait the waiters check everything is okay and bring drinks as ordered

Simply dreadful, don't visit. Food is appalling, not made on the premises, simply warmed up. We were a group of 8 and experienced the displeasure of a wide range of dishes. Each one was dreadful and a couple inedible. Don't order the calamari or zucchini frittes, I've never tasted anything as revolting. Staff are friendly but widely incompetent Restaurant is ran down and very cold. I eat in a lot of restaurants and have rarely experienced anything as poor as this.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner and we were not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly from the beginning, the place is very cozy and the food was delicious. The dishes are very generous and I was sorry to not be able to finish it but we were pleasantly surprised when we asked if we could have the food to go and they said yes. I unfortunately live in another country but anytime I come back to Wakefield I'll be sure to go to Fino.

Came for new years eve lunch with all my family. The pizzas were delicious and we all enjoyed them very much. The service was great with friendly staff for who nothing was too much trouble . Lovely surroundings and we definitely be coming back xx

We had been taken here for our first time in January by friends and my partner chose this for her birthday meal in January. We had to amend the booking at late notice so we arrived for lunch rather than evening meal. We were welcomed extremely warmly and presented with several menu options with excellent deals. The food was fantastic, freshly prepared and extremely tasty. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout without being over the top. The Wednesday deal (two course for two people including a drink for £30) is amazing and meant that our bill including drinks and our eight year old daughter was less than £70. My partner got a free drink for her birthday and our daughter ate free. What an amazing little find and we will certainly be back VERY soon.

Don't know what's happened to this place, most of the waiting staff are friendly and can't do enough for you, but the food has dropped drastically, not sure if it's because there's new chefs but the food was cold, tasteless, all around unappealing, used to love this restaurant but I don't know if I will return until the food standard reaches the level that it was when I visited a few months ago

25% off mains on Friday, 3pm - 6pm. Arrived at 5pm and got the bill at 6:10pm. Not offered discount as we got the bill after 6pm. This feels very misleading.

Our favourite restaurant in Wakefield. Martin and the fino staff are excellent, friendly, professional and go out of their way to make your evening special. The food is delicious. Thank you for making many special memories guys.

Have only been for lunch. Good deals and good GF options. Both pizza and pasta are recommended! Never had any issues here and has become our go to lunch venue over the last few months.

My friend and I visited this restaurant last night and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the experience. The food was excellent, I had Pollo E Funghi Pasta 👍 and my friend had pizza with a lovely bottle of red wine to share.The service was so good, attentive and very friendly, must thank Shane and Ugne as they were extremely polite, helpful and made the evening. Not enjoyable. Food was ok, flavours were great but turned up soggy- pizza and chewy - pasta. Wouldn’t have minded as much but the service was terrible. Despite making a thing of being kid friendly we were not given a kids menu or even a plate or cutlery for our daughter Food took ages, items we ordered never appeared. Food was just dumped on the table, we had to ask for cutlery pepper Parmesan etc as none ever appeared. When we asked for things like this we were looked at as if we were strange. I would have expressed my views in the restaurant but no-one bothered to ask. Young waitress with red hair tried very hard but no one else seemed to care less. Overhead the manager says let’s not bother with cooking steaks tonight it’s too hard, it was 6pm…

Me, my partner and her friend all went here yesterday. The atmosphere was incredible and the restaurant looked cozy. The food was greatly priced, generous and tasted incredible! We're definitely coming back! If you've not tried it yet, you're seriously missing out!

Just happened to stop by Fino today for an italian Sunday lunch, was absolutely delicious. We didn't book a table but were welcomed in. Our server was really lovely and friendly. The food was hot and delicious, from starter to dessert! We loved the decor and atmosphere of the old building. I love that they have further dining area upstairs which could be booked for large groups. The prices were very good to say that some chain restaurants are more expensive and not nearly as good as the authentic italian food you get here. I love that there's proper olives on the menu too! We will definitely be back. Oh and we had teenagers with us but the restaurant is little kid friendly too.

We visited with our children for a family birthday, as it is our little boy’s favourite. Second time eating here- first time very good but last night a bit less so. Welcome was good and food and drinks but they were very slow to clear away for dessert and coffee. That said the food is great we all had pizzas - the children eat free and we had a good time. Two members of staff were good but there were 2 who I felt were new and didn’t have enough training.

The service received from this restaurant was exceptional. Food was excellent and the value for money was even better. Will definitely return here and recommend this for anybody who wants good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great value.

We decided to go here for my husbands birthday and was so happy we did. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the decor was so warm and inviting. We were seated upstairs which is a little small but perfect for an intimate dinner so it was perfect for us. The service was great we got served quickly and by our lovely waiter our drinks arrived quickly and the food followed not long after. The food as amazing and was such amazing quality with a good portion size to boot. But the best thing had to be the desserts they were absolutely divine!! Homemade and so flavourful I could have just ordered multiple dishes of the dessert lmao. So overall a fantastic Italian restaurant with amazing staff and outstanding food we will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this restaurant :-)

I attended FINO tonight with 4 friends and left with an undeniable sense of disappointment. We had booked a table for 19:00 and were seated promptly. It got to around 19:25 and no one had taken our food order which I thought was odd. I saw a chef walk past so asked if he could get someone to take our order, which he did immediately. Unfortunately, as the evening unfolded, my excitement of being with friends and in a nice ‘appearing’ restaurant slowly faded. These feelings were replaced by frustration and irritation. Within my party, only one person ordered starters and this came out at around 19:50. This was finished with plates collected at 20:00. At 20:10 we were told the mains would be coming on the way. At 20:20 I chased this up again, citing we had work shortly and would have to leave soon. The waitress said “WE ARE JUST A BIT BUSY AND I HAVE LET THEM KNOW”. I asked the waitress if she could speak to a manager to speed things up. This is where the night turned really sour. A male, who I have been told is the assistant manager and called “SHANE”, stormed up to our table and said “WHAT IS THIS ISSUE?” It was in a very demanding tone and it interrupted our conversation. He was totally rude and we were all in shock. It was like a teacher shouting at naughty school children!! I told Shane that we had been seated since 19:00 and still not had our mains. Shane immediately replied “YOU ONLY ORDERED AT 19:40”. There was a completely lack of sympathy or compassion from Shane and he had really aggression in his tone of voice. I told Shane that he clearly had an attitude problem and it was not acceptable. Shane then said “THE FOOD WILL ONLY BE A COUPLE OF MINUTES”. I told Shane that if this was passed to us by the waitress then there would have been no issue or need for escalation. Shane apologised and said he would take the sides and drinks off the bill (which was done). When the food came out we had the following qualms: Hawaiian pizza - Was originally sent without pineapple, which was never requested (and completely defeats the purpose of a Hawaiian) - This was then sent back to the kitchen who just threw pineapple on top and sent it back to us, it was not remade or recooked so the pineapple tasted hard and uncooked. Garlic Bread - This was stale and inedible, it was barely eaten Pasta - Dowsed with Pesto. We did not dare speak up or raise further concerns as we had already been shouted at once, and there was already items taken off the bill. We were also told there was a “new chef” who was blamed for just about everything by all the waiting staff. I am so totally disappointed in FINO. I have been 2-3 times before, since 2019 and I have recommended it countlessly to people who live in Wakefield. It used to be a cosy, respectfully ran establishment with amazing service and now it’s turned into the pits of hell. There is a cost of living crisis, if you are spending your HARD EARNED money, please please please go SPEND IT ELSEWHERE. Spend it where you’ll get GOOD food and WELCOMING service. I also forgot to note that during the night, whilst waiting for food, we could hear two people (assuming the chefs) shouting at each other at the top of their voices in the kitchen (heated argument!) so much so, that the waitress had to come and shut the doors to block out the noise. Total chaos. This was a disgraceful visit and I will be telling everyone about it. There is clear gaps in the service and management that need immediate attention. I won’t be visiting again and I hope no-one else does.

Unfortunately ate alone as my partners dish was hot , my lasagne was hot on top the meat below tha pasta layer was cold so had to send it back. Waited another 20 minutes for a new one. No offer of any compensation for a spoilt anniversary meal ,which was ment to be special . Nice atmosphere in the restaurant nice staff ,food average lasagne ,poor on rhis occasion.

Came here with a friend for a Friday night meal. We ordered a garlic bread for starter which sadly came cold, when we told our waitress about this she asked if we would like it re heated. We said no thank you we would like a new one and a fresh one was brought out which was piping hot and much better. We also ordered the burrata which was more of a buffalo mozzarella - not as creamy on the inside as I had hoped. Still tasted good though. We both ordered pizzas which were great and really tasty.

Beautiful restaurant inside and out. What a great atmosphere and exceptional service from the wait staff. The food was good but that was it. I did enjoy my meal, as did the other people I was dining with. All dishes were well presented, good portions etc and you won't be disappointed but I just felt it was nothing to write home about.

It was ok. I couldn't see the point of putting dried fruit slices in the drinks, as they wouldn't add to the taste like a fresh lemon slice would. It seemed a bit pretentious. The two female servers seemed to be on their first day and stumbled a bit, but the third server was a veteran and kept very busy making sure everyone was happy. The chicken tasted slightly off, but was nicely panfried. Sadly, I didn't dare eat much of it. Maybe it had been kept out of the fridge too long, or the fridge temperature had been allowed to warm up, I'm not sure. There wasn't enough sauce either. I think they only put a tablespoon on the plate. Once they get these small niggles sorted, however, I think this will become a very good place to dine out.

Absolutely fantastic service with the most wonderful waiters that are an asset to the business and the main reason I’d consider returning. The atmosphere was nice and everything was tidy and clean, and waiters really happy to accommodate birthday requests. Good prices especially given the rise in costs everywhere, although the only reason I don’t give five stars is that I don’t think there were enough vegan versions - a vegan pizza and vegan salad would be brilliant.

Service was so slow we waited 10 mins for a dessert menu before we gave up on the guy (Martin) to come back with it and went and asked for one the. We waited 25 mins between finishing mains and receiving desserts. We felt a bit forgotten to be fair.

We travelled down to Fino today, after personally waiting a couple of years to try their pizza I can safely say I was far from disappointed. Greeted by Joe on entry, we were quickly seated and underway with ordering. Our order was calamari as a starter, followed by a pizza each. I had the Diavola and my partner had the Pepperoni. The calamari came quickly and was as delicately fried as it was tasty. An insanely light texture and crunch made it a perfect way to start our meal. The Diavola was a lightly spicy beast, with pepperoni, n'duja, balsamic onions and red chillies plated on a red sauce and light base, it was easily one of the tastiest pizzas I've had in Wakefield. Each different ingredient came through, wrapping together a great experience. Skin-on fries accompanied the pizza as a side, which were perfectly cooked and lightly salted. Our chef today, Matt, hit the mark on every part of our food. The atmosphere was relaxed with warm copper lighting that accompanied a chill soundtrack of instrumental music. Joe brought with him a super friendly and engaging hospitality vibe that flowed smoothly from ordering to leaving. We will definitely be returning to Fino, and I strongly urge you try the place if you haven't yet.

I don’t know why, but I really wanted to love this restaurant. The setting is great and has a really good atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable for the food. It didn’t quite live up to expectation though. The food took a long time to come (I understand it was a busy night but we had long periods of waiting) and when it did arrive, some of it was cold. The food was tasty but not exceptional. 3 1/2 stars is probably a fairer score.

First time visiting Finos after several recommendations from friends. Booked in online, very easy. Courtesy call to confirm our booking. The food is actually quite nice. The reason for the 1 star is the misleading nature of the ‘Kids Eat Free’ advertisement. It doesn’t apply when you order off the lunch menu, even though doesn’t say this anywhere neither was it explained to us before we ordered. A poor gimmick to trick people through the door.
