Nice place, busy atmosphere. Staff could do with a day trip to learn how to pour a Guinness properly.

Fabulous bottomless brunch with friends. The food and drinks were very generous. Great value for money. Our waitress Lily was fantastic, quick, pleasant and polite. Our group of seven would highly recommend an afternoon at Last Bank. We will be back!!

Great bar and grill. For a Saturday night and bank holiday the atmosphere was brilliant, I'm usually a little anxious in crowded places but I felt really relaxed and staff were excellent.

I attended my first bottomless brunch for birthday celebrations. We were attended to by Beth. She was friendly, attentive & made our afternoon. We never had to shout her o er once. She was always there. Highly recommend. Thank you Beth.

The food was spot-on! No doubt about it. Ordered the sharing platter and a Mac-and-cheese for the child. It wasn't busy, yet the staff wasn't attentive at all, even though, there was more of them, than customers. They were to busy chatting and applying make-up at the bar! Food took 50 minutes to arrive, and it was brilliant! Cooked to perfection, well seasoned and served piping-hot. The service was slow removing the plates/boards, we had to go to the bar to ask for the bill, as nobody came to ask, if we would like anything else, or the bill. Over all, great food, poor service. We spent 1 hour and 50 minutes in the restaurant just for one meal.

Fantastic food, fantastic drinks, fabulous atmosphere, stunning outdoor area with dj, really helpful and super friendly staff (minus the young moody female bar manager who wasn’t particularly nice to staff or customers), great music, a really lovely venue and would defo return if ever in Pontefract again. We had bottomless brunch and the staff made sure that we never had an empty glass or had to wait for service…spot on and well worth the money 👍

Bottomless brunch. Great staff, very attentive and the drinks kept flowing. Food was good, loads of it, although my wife's chicken was very overcooked. Music was a bit loud for an old man like me.

Great atmosphere , bar staff are friendly with good service, I have been a few times as a couple & with family group celebrating my 50th , will definitely be coming again we all enjoyed, its clean & tidy the inside/outside & toilets

I recently started my hen do at The Last Bank which consisted of a bottomless brunch. The food was absolutely delicious, the booze was free flowing and we received excellent service from the lovely waitresses - they couldn't do enough to help!

Had brunch for 10 people all had chicken strips and fries, bbq sauce,chicken was overcooked, and not all the same portion

Just been stood at the bar for 20 minutes and the bar person just kept serving people coming up to the bat so moved on and got served straight away

Great venue, beautiful food, amazing chandeliers, the staff were really friendly and helpful, we were in a big group and they always carried our drinks to the table and ensured our drinks were full during brunch. Brunch was a great deal, plenty of drink and fresh food. Went to some brunches in town and they were rubbish compared to the Bank. We left to go to other bars but within an hour came back here and stayed here.. Will be returning..

This place is fantastic, the staff are more than helpful, the venue looks amazing, the brunch is such good value. Iv been to bars in the area for brunch and was disappointed at the quality of food and cocktails, but not here. The food is so good, and the cocktails are the real deal.. TBH your undercharging for the brunch.. will deffo be back

Me and my friends came here today for bottomless brunch. The place was extremely busy and at the time was understaffed. We were late being seated but were told we could have double drinks instead - not a problem, we weren't ordering cocktails so didn't wait long for them to arrive. Then it came to ordering food. For some reason, the bar menu is completely different to the website menu. My friends ordered pizza and nachos. I wanted the chicken strips but apparently they don't come with the duck fat chips - the website states different so we ordered them separately. The chicken strips then came with chips anyway (as well as the ones we had ordered, they had done more than needed apparently) but they weren't duck fat chips. I have been before so was disappointed. Anyway, despite of this, the food and drink we received was lovely and Beth, our server was amazing. She was attentive and made sure all our needs were met (even sourcing salt as apparently everything is now next door at Erubi). The only other niggle we had was that the bar was cold - I even heard other people complaining. Overall, the food and drinks were lovely, it's just the little things that need sorting.

We attended for brunch. Food was ok but the selection of drinks were good however, service terribly slow and rude. Not an ounce of customer service. Had 4 drinks in 2 hours- brunch not worth the money. Complained to the manger whom was helpful and did send two further rounds of drinks.

I came in for drinks on Thursday and the bar staff was one girl called Melissa she was absolutely lovely could not have been nicer asked us for specifically everything we wanted and made it for us to perfection. what a lovely woman. will come again thank you for employing this wonderful lady. Thursday wasn't busy but she still made our experience the best to her possible.

Came for lunch with friends. Only 2 other tables occupied. Waitress on her own but worked hard and had a lovely demeanour. Barman really rude and acted like he was trying to drive business away. He filled a glass of lager to the top then swiped the head off with his hand. I asked for a lemon lime and bitters which he said he had never heard of. Told him how to make it which he ignored and put a tiny drop of bitters into a glass of tonic. Asked me if I wanted ice and I said no then he completely filled the glass with ice. Banged it down on the counter. Not sure if he was drunk or just naturally obnoxious but none of us will be back.

This place has really gone downhill since they changed the menu. The food we got wasn't what was described on the menu, and the chips were terrible compared to the duck fat ones they used to do. The photo shows the chips advertised on their menu on the table, and the small amount of undercooked mccains they served us for about £4.50.

Christmas eve and the place was buzzing. Great service and a fantastic atmosphere.

On entering there were 3 or 4 staff behind the bar! Sat in a dark area, not ideal for food but made our choice and went to the bar to order! No one there so waited and waited and waited obviously didn’t want our business so decided to go elsewhere! On walking out turned around to see a woman making her way to the back of the bar. Go elsewhere if you want good service!

Arrived at 7.30pm and staff couldn't have been more rude. Was told we needed to order food as soon as we got to the bar as the "kitchen was shutting in 5". So we quickly sat down and waited for them to serve us. Quickly picked what we wanted from the menu and waited 5 mins before the server even came over and could tell they didn't want us there. A few minutes after we ordered they came back over and said we've only got 1 burger left so "one of you can have one, the rest of you will have to order something else". Not even an apology, and they just stood there expecting us to order something else when they'd taken the menus away. It wouldn't be so bad but we were the only people there and it was as if they just wanted us out so they could close early. Anyway, we cancelled the order, drank up and left. Won't be going back and doubt the place will be open much longer with the lack of business and terrible customer service.

Booked the first Drag Brunch held here this year. When we arrived we were told they were running 30 minutes late and directed to the bar. Fair enough, we thought, but when we got to the bar we were told that we had to pay for our drinks. The long queue of people at the bar were very annoyed at this. After all, we had all arrived on time. The staff were not prepared. The barmaid was explaining to customers that the owner had not rota'd extra staff for the event. And that none of them knew about the event until they arrived at work. But we then had to pay.? It wouldn't have killed them to say "one drink on the house for the inconvenience"... So customers were already a bit peeved before the event even began. The performers were amazing. They really saved the night. Absolutely top class and they definitely got the crowd going. Everyone had to use the bar outside, which is a really lovely hut. But there was 1 member of staff. That was it. For a special event? It took so long to get drinks. The cocktails were prepared before in big vats, which is no problem...but they were so weak. It was like drinking juice. I asked for double gins as my table all said the same about the cocktails. To be told they wouldn't serve doubles as part of the brunch. Singles only. As someone who goes to Leeds for bottomless brunches often, and pays the same amount as Last Bank are charging in Pontefract, the offer here is very poor. In Leeds you can guarantee good cocktails and doubles are standard. I do have to say, the food was amazing. We got given huge boards of different tapas style dishes and breads, cheeses and meats. Really great quality. This bit of the event definitely impressed us all. Overall, the entertainment and food was amazing. The alcohol however was just so poor. Not worth the cost. It was like going to a restaurant with an act on. But this was meant to be a bottomless brunch...People know what they expect from those...a good alcohol offer. The running of the event was also just chaotic. They were late starting, not enough staff on, and even the staff were loudly complaining they were run ragged. It felt like the owner was trying to do it as cheap as possible so he made more money. I like going in Last Bank for food or a drink usually. I'll continue to do that but I won't book a Drag Brunch here again.

A bit disappointed really, I was excited for me and my sister to go out drinking for the first time so booked the bottomless brunch. When we got there, we had to wait a while for table even though we arrived on time which means we didn’t get our first drink until 20 mins after we arrived. Service was very slow meaning that in total we only received four drinks each and were constantly waiting with empty glasses. Food was nice just disappointed with the service, our second round of drinks, we didn’t recieve until it 15 mins after we placed the order. The music was VERY loud that we couldn’t talk to each other. We had a booking for 3pm while 4.30pm but no body came to ask us for our next drink order after 4pm, this along with the 20 minuet wait, meant we only got around 45 minutes of drinking.

Had a lovely bottomless brunch, food was lovely and huge portions. Drinks selection was very good and staff were attentive and friendly and we were not rushed to leave table. Well worth the money.

Beautiful place to relax, great use of old Bank. 1st time I've ever had a ploughman's with absolutely no salad , fruit or vegetables on the board. Food is nice but a bit pricey , service is OK but no-one will come ask if you want more drinks or food, you have to go to the bar.

Came here for lunch last week. I had the special which was lobster risotto . It was very good. My partner had a steak sandwich with goose fat cooked fries. Also very good. Staff and service all great. Nice place I’d be happy to come here again.

Second time for Sunday lunch in the last month. Superb food, Really friendly staff, good price, lovely art deco inspired decor. It doesn't feel like you are in ponty town centre at all. The only downside is that it is really quiet that better than being crammed. will be back soon for sure.

Good luck getting served at the bar - seemingly an operation of “serve as slowly as possible” policy is in place at this venue. Won’t be back & I doubt the several other people who walked out won’t either.

Gutted about our visit to The Last Bank. From what we could see online it seemed to be just what the area needed but we were thoroughly let down on our visit. Despite being 2 of the 4 people who were there to eat the quality of the food was such a let down. The calamari was burnt beyond recognition and the garlic mushroom looked to have been microwaved to the point of boiling. Our glasses sat empty for a good 30 minutes with no question if we would like another. Based off of that we felt best to cancel the order of our main and go elsewhere. Genuinely a shame because the location is ideal the venue is nice. It could have been a good alternative to having to travel to Leeds for good dining however the key elements are missing. Unfortunately will not be returning.

Beautiful food, the staff were also very accommodating for our party of 10. Made my dad's birthday a lovely occasion.

First time visitor with my mum to watch my sister singing in banks got talent (wheelchair access was great) I didn't catch his name but the manager went out of his way to look after her which I was really very grateful. I didn't get chance to try the food or let my hair down assess the atmosphere properly. But I do want to say thank you for looking after my mum.

Lovely pub but the Last Banks got Talent (especially the final) has been an absolute shambles, how can every turn get 10 minutes apart from 1 who gets 55 minutes???? Been some absolutely fantastic acts on over the weeks but will not attend again because of the farcical way it was run

Called in for breakfast on Father's Day we did have to wait for nearly 30 minutes for our breakfast but it was early in the morning so we perhaps we were the first people in for food The staff were friendly and helpful the food was good and tasty 😋

First time visiting the last bank and the atmosphere was great. Thanks to the lady behind the bar who charged my phone. I really did appreciate it. I’ve not been to pontefract in 7 years and it’s great to see a thriving bar.

First time here and probs won't be rushing back unfortunately. Nothing wrong with the food but such a shame we had to wait 45 minutes for a club sandwich. After half an hour l queried it's whereabouts with the waitress who took our order only see food being taken to a couple on our next table who ordered approx 10 minutes after us. I still had to ask a second time before we finally received our food with a "sorry for your wait" comment. How can the kitchen they get something so wrong with only a handful of customers. Would hate to think how long food takes when it's full.

Quiet night when I went but a varied selection of beers and lagers on offer. It has been turned into a beautiful pub and enhances the theme that Ropergate is becoming - just what Pontefract and Ropergate need. Dog friendly in the outside area, which is well presented and a pleasant to be on a summer evening (and probably afternoon).

Awful service ordered cocktails staff said they would deliver to table. Bar staff came table to say couldn’t make cocktails we ordered as no bitters, had to request a menu to reorder which was slung on our table by a very surly member of staff who then walked away. Had to return to bar to reorder. Shocking cocktails when finally delivered not worth the money and bar staff couldn’t be bothered but were laughing and joking with owner

Place looks amazing and good to see a great selection of food, drinks and live entertainment. Nice that they have kept some of the atmosphere of the old bank and features. Roomy and spacious but can get busy on event and weekends. Good website and social media links. Great outside area at the back also. Food is good and not the cheapest but good quality. You can always call in during the day for a coffee or tea too. Would have been a 5 star but unfortunately they have cancelled the comedy nights which I had booked for the summer which was a disappointment 😞 was looking forward to them. Something about it being too lighter evenings for a good atmosphere for comedy evenings...begs the question whether the passing alcohol trade is more lucrative than the comedy nights? 🤔 Anyway hasn't put me off and will certainly visit again.

This one star review is based on the service alone, by either the owner or one of the servers. Ordered our food which took a while to arrive which wasn't a problem. When it arrived the guy said he would bring us our cutlery and vanished before we could ask for salt and mayo. When the cutlery arrived he almost vanished again before I could request these items, but managed to catch him. Salt n mayo never arrived as he was chatting with someone at the bar. Went over to ask for mayo ( forgot to remind him of salt) Mayo came and was practically slung on the table without a word . Went back and asked for salt. Sanething slung on table with no word. So unimpressed with the rudeness. I deliberately added up the bill before paying as we had had 2 identical drinks with 2 different prices. It came to £29. At the till it cane to £30.50. Not much difference but a) it was wrong and b) I totally expected ot to be wrong and wonder if they do this all the time. Food nice but the service very rude and unacceptable

You get what you pay for and the staff are extremely hospitable ☺️ Best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten, and they catered to my 🌶️spicy taste buds with a dip of siracha, upon request ! Plentiful, nicely paced, classy and could give leeds bars a run for their money. Just had Sunday lunch here and I can honestly say I cannot understand why it is now packed the food is outstanding and such good quality and lovely presentation as well. The staff are very polite and vefy helpful as well

Can’t complain about the atmosphere in the place. Booked for a bottomless brunch. I thought very expensive for what was on offer without paying a further supplement on top of the already OTT prices.

Excellent bottomless brunch. Accommodated 2 extra people a hour before. Was delayed seating us so gave us an extra round of drinks. Fantastic service. Highly recommended

Its nicely decorated and that's about it. There aren't enough staff behind the bar and the chips were burnt and tasted horrible. There's zero atmosphere as well. Not a fan. Been in once or twice since on a weekend night and there's still no atmosphere.

Breakfast is very nice. Not cheap but produce all local and fresh. Enjoyed it and would go back again.

£5.40 for a Guinness in Pontefract. Seen cheaper pints in central London! It's a shame the working class are getting priced out of all these new establishments in the town. But if fools like myself are gonna pay that price then can we really complain. Saying that it was the nicest Guinness I've ever had in Pontefract - £4.50 I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Well par from the raised stage being a complete trip hazard * 2 really bad falls whilst we were there it's not a bad bar, ok drinks, live entertainment and overall decent space.

Went in first time today. Had coffee and scone. Both very nice. Place itself is lovely. Gorgeous pictures of pontefract around. Will definitely visit again.

We booked a table at a different place, but they had trouble with the power supply, so we went here instead, I thought the prices were very good and the food was delicious. Staff are professional, too.

A bit pricey but the food, lady behind the bar was lovely and courteous and toilets were an experience and a half! Steak was cooked to perfection but sauce could’ve been more blue cheese.

Absolutely shocking service. Despite there being nobody in there this lunchtime there was a customer stood waiting ages to be served at the bar and after a 45 minute wait we were told they’d not actually bothered to start making the sandwiches we’d ordered. Great example of how not to run your business

Regular customer almost daily for coffee and numerous nights for drinks. Head in new years eve and get the door shut in my face by rude staff. Not a problem if the venue is closed for a private function, but this should be stated and there are more courteous ways of informing someone the venue is currently unavailable for public use. Unprofessional, will not be visiting again.

The 5 star review is for everyone who, in the face of a crisis did so well, and the generosity of the manager made the fact that no power meant no hot food, did not deter the kitchen staff or management from making our birthday visit on the 17th a success! We did enjoy our evening and will be back! Shame on the group next to us who gave their drinks order, but left just before they arrived...just bad manners IMO.

The food was nice, however it wasn't busy & the place was cold so I weren't able to take my coat off to eat my meal. My visit was at lunch time.
