Capri @ the Vine in Wakefield

Fed quality mixed... pizza had raw mushroom. Very bland chicken risotto with 3 bits of asparagus. Steaks all good as was tomato based pasta dishes. No veg with risotto... not worth the money. Staff and service good. Disappointed as last family evening there was good.

I love it... will go back time and time again.

Gorgeous and welcoming decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The vanilla latte was especially good.

We can't fault capri , excellent friendly service ,great food we took a cake with us as it was a birthday meal and they went above and beyond to bring it out candles lit then brought plates and a knife to cut it with . Would recommend this to everyone, thank you capri . Great night

Food was luke warm and bland. Expensive too. The eggs on the eggs Benedict were overcooked and almost cold. Sauce was oily. Served was none too friendly either.

Capri Lounge. Gorgeous food. Disappointed by the service. I appreciate that everyone can have a bad day, but a smile from the front of house team, would have gone a long way.

The food was horrible very dry overcooked chicken breast with a black vinegar swamping the plate and an unrecognisable vegetable on the side thankfully there was only one .piece of the unknown veg The pizzas ordered by the rest of the family were undercooked at the bottom .The staff were polite and helpful ,I felt rather sorry for them having to serve up such dreadful food

Arranged a suprise 70 here. Never been before but will definitely be going again. Everything was excellent especially the staff. They were so helpful and professional. The food is absolutely brilliant. Well done capri keep up the excellent work..

Visited for my daughters birthday. I had visited once before just after opening and had been disappointed. I put it down to teething issues. Thought we’d give it another go. We booked , mentioned on the booking it was for a birthday. There was no acknowledgement of this. This time, we were initially seated downstairs but thought it was like a place for afternoon tea. It was bright and lacked atmosphere. We were moved upstairs which is what we preferred. My daughter ordered a sirloin steak, had to ask if it could be cooked medium rare. When it arrived it was a fillet. We questioned this , the waitress said it would be taken off the bill and they would cook the correct one . We had 3 staff all appear to pounce on us. One saying, we won’t pay and if you want a desert, one will be free, another saying keep this and we will cook the correct one … who can eat 2 steaks! The third saying eat this and we will only charge for a sirloin. We didn’t want desert. Had no idea what would be on the bill. When the bill came we had been charged for a sirloin. Which was ok but when I pointed out what had been said . The server was rude , said the girl was nee shouldn’t have said that . Her attitude was shocking. Overall not a great experience for a birthday treat.

The food is often hit and miss, far to many times our order has been wrong when the food arrives. Of course they put it right just means a longer wait and my wife or I sit watching the other eat. At times staff use the disabled parking spaces that I do not like.

A super meal with friends, well served by the awesome cheeky waitress who sadly I didn’t get her name but she made our experience awesome. Will definitely return soon.

Just about to move locally. So thought we wud check it out. Booked a table for 7.30 and the place was heaving. Initially put off as no where to park. Went to the front desk and soon sorted. Had two Calzones. Normally very heavy and bland. However the ones we had were light tasty and not too filling. Although a decent portion.. Pudding light and tasty and total bill off 65 quid. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be coming back

Best tomato and garlic bread pizza to start in the whole world! Love this place ❤️ Could have more vegetarian options but they're very accommodating if you ask to switch meat out.

Great food and atmosphere and great service

Didn’t try the food but the drink selection and ambience of the room coupled with the decor is a great place to meet with friends. Ample parking at the back too.

Quality of pizzas have really gone down hill. Capri is usually our go to for takeaway pizza and the last few orders they were missing toppings and there has been barely anything on them. Just not worth the money.

We went for a family celebration meal for my daughter's birthday (midweek on an evening). It's a massive place, nice looking. The atmosphere isn't great when there aren't many people. The food was brilliant. The best steak that I've had outside of America. Service was sometimes good but it took a while for mains to arrive and ages to get the bill even though it was quiet. They then had the cheek to automatically add a 'Service Charge', although, to be fair, they did point this out and removed it but I do hate the fact that these places do this, especially when they don't have excellent service.

Staff were great, but my poached eggs were solid. I should of complained but didnt as I didnt want to sound moany with my party, sadly wont return. I did drive past today though.😥

We were celebrating my mum's birthday, she was 101 so she couldn't cope with a huge celebration! The staff were so lovely with her. The view from Capri on the Vine Cafe in Wakefield is great. Excellent brunch menu. Mum gave her scone with clotted cream and jam 9 out of 10! High praise from a lifelong baker! Good disabled access.

Expensive but Excellent food. Venue fantastic. My only gripe is the round table we were given for 6 people was very small and tight. This should be no more than 4 people. As a result there was a lot of leaning over from the waitress , which was annoying. I would return, but I would avoid round tables if there is 6 people.

Three of us were in Wakefield for work and ate here at the recommendation of a colleague who lives locally. I was bit apprehensive at the sheer size of the place, but then very pleasantly surprised with the food. We shared a garlic bread to start which was good enough that it could have been a main course. My carbonara was perfect and so big I only managed half of it. And the bottle of house wine we shared was nice and perfectly drinkable. I would definitely return if in the area again.

Fantastic food and a great varied menu, service was very good staff were very attentive! The surroundings and atmosphere was also very good.

Love this restaurant. The food is absolutely fabulous and the staff are really fantastic and make you feel really special. I had the veal in a cream sauce and my husband had pasta both of which were delicious. I think the only downside to the restaurant is that due to the size of the place it can be very noisy so I wouldn’t recommend for an intimate occasion. Highly recommend for the quality of food and service though.

Tried to order a home delivery meal only to be told they are too busy to take any more orders. This was at 19:15 on a Saturday night! Bad way of doing business. We have ordered nearly every week from there. No longer will now.

Works lunch- ordered a pepperoni pizza. What was served can only be described as watery, sloppy mush pizza, the base was therefore completely soaked and the edge was so flat and almost undercooked. Reminded me of a poor frozen pizza! Followed by chocolate fudge cake which looked good but was again very disappointing, no flavour and substance was one of a cheap bought in product. Will never be going here again 👎

In party of 10. They forgot my starter. It finally arrived when everyone else was finishing theirs. Very below par food, however our waitress was exceptional. Very poor value for money. Had a far better meal last week in Royal Windsor, which was a heck of a lot cheaper and also had more taste. Would not recommend.

Stupid alcohol prices. £3.50 for a soda with lime. Lager has expensive has London.. If your not loaded leve it its not worth the money.

Very disappointed. Visited to celebrate with work colleagues. We hired the upstairs room which cost £250 and included nothing other than the room. The bar in the area was manned by 1 staff member, despite the group size. We paid £15.99 each for an "Italian buffet" which was poor, had very little Italian food on it and did not have enough food for the attendees. The one bar staff was expected to also fetch and carry, when we didn't have enough cutterly or any other issue. With the buffet and room hire we spent over £1000. Plus bar costs (very expensive) It was not worth half that. So disappointed as in the past we have visited often and had good experiences in the regular restaurant but we will not return.

I had a pleasure to vine & dine there few times. Food is fab, seafood lovers will understand 😋. Place itself is very elegant and clean, staff very friendly and kind to kids ( while I was pulling my hair off). There are tho 3 things which don't tickle my fancy... table next to the staff room in main area, 15% service charge to final bill and overcaring staff. Last time we got "that" table and we had ppl passing by every 2 min with coffees, dessert... service charge can be deducted and tip can be added after- but it's awkward right? Staff is lovely really but every 5 min we had someone asking " everything OK lov? " ( with my mouth full of calamari I mumbled: " beautiful thanks" haha). Available parking, family friendly and tasty food- yes from me.

Booked for my sister and I early Saturday evening and already there were not many empty tables. We were seated quickly and drinks order taken and food orders taken as the drinks were served. We shared the bruschetta which was deligthful and beautifully presented. The steak main course was as good - presented, cooked and seasoned perfectly. We ordered one side of veg and one of chips which worked well for us. The peppercorn sauce was rich, smooth with the perfect pepper kick! There were plenty staff who have been perfectly versed in customer care, the side age ranges gives a balance of experience and speed! The team are friendly, ultra efficient but you are never rushed. The team know their roles and exactly what they are are doing - it was a pleasure to observe (ex-restauranteur). If you haven't yet experienced the atmosphere, service and food served at the Capri - then you need to! NOTE: The top car park (to the left of the building) provides disabled access.

Enjoyed two birthday parties and several other group bookings - most enjoyable. We were very well looked after. The food was very good. Parking is occasionally full up but you can easily park a couple of streets away. I will be going back - hopefully quite a lot!!

We went to Capri for Mrs's birthday. The booking reservation was seamless and easy, the staff were very nice and polite, the order was on-time and on point. The meals were tasty and there were varieties. The overall experience was 5-star!!

I love having breakfast here whenever it's a friends birthday. The pancakes are my personal favourite but the granola runs a close second. I don't think anyone I know has ever complained about the food there.

The restaurant feels like it's setup for capacity over quality. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the decor is modern and clean. However, the food was mediocre at best. It wasn't significantly different to a decent pub or chain restaurant, and value wise, expensive. A shared garlic bread, pasta dish and lamb chops with 1 beer and a soft drink was £90. That's on the expensive side for Wakefield. My personal view is that there are better authentic Italian restaurants in the area.

Generally over priced. Not at all Wakefield prices but virtually no competition so they're capitalising on market demand. £22 for basic house wine that tastes worse than £3.95 wine from Aldi over the road.

I recently visited Capri at the Vine for lunch. We had a pizza and a steak and both were lovely. We had a cocktail with our lunch which tasted great. The staff were very attentive and we will certainly return.

Honestly the best steak we've ever had. Absolutely loved everything about our food. Service was fantastic and the staff work very hard. The strawberry cheesecake was heaven and the bottle of house wine was perfect.

Excellent experience as always. I come here and to the Horbury restaurant all the time. We had starters, mains, desserts and a couple of cocktails. The quality of food is excellent, especially for the price. The mains came out a reasonable time after the starters. The service was excellent and we weren’t made to feel rushed, which is always nice. I’d highly recommend the mussels for a starter, if you love seafood.

What a gem. The food was superb. The bread and olive starter is divine, compliment to the chef on the home made foccacia. The calzone is amazing, so thin and perfect. Definitely worth a visit

Honestly the best ribeye steak we have ever had. Everything was done to perfection. we finished of with the strawberry cheesecake, which was just delicious. Enjoyed our bottle of house wine. The staff are all lovely and work very hard.

The food was poor, staff was not comfortable at times and could tell some of these staff was on coke or something and jaw was going a lot and not very well prepared for the business, the sweet section was very sloppy and not well done!

It's quite a while since I was last here and decided to treat some friends for my birthday. The food was OK, not as good as I remember and the service was definitely not up to scratch. We had a number of servers and there's sadly a lack of communication between them. Food ordered couldn't be aligned with the individual that ordered it (shouldn't be difficult on a table for 4). I also had 2 drinks added to the bill from the table next to us which were removed when pointed it out and then I received their bill having already paid mine. Was it amateur night? Simple mistakes I don't expect especially as it wasn't that busy. No recognition of my birthday was given or offered.

From start to finish terrible . Cold food , white roast potatoes .Meat fatty , cold overdone .Gravy overload , maybe serve this in a gravy boat then the diner can choose where to put it .My partner had half a Yorkshire Pudding Prawn cocktail ,a few prawns on a few lettuce shreds .They appeared to have come from a well know frozen food shop and were still defrosting .

Bruschetta for starter which was ok then Ordered a medium cooked rack of lamb,4 tiny lamb cutlets with hardly any meat on which was raw.and a small amount of fries(sent back and rectified quickly) very small portions.average cheesecake for dessert. all felt a bit rushed,Not very good value for money at all..left feeling hungry and disappointed,wouldn't recommend,wont be returning.

Again excellent food and service, the only let down is the music volume is to high. When having a meal out with my wife or friends we like to be able to chat not having difficulty hearing one another and having to shout across the table. The music volume being high spoils what should be a pleasant experience background mood music fine. My wife had the PENNE POLLO DI CASA I tasted it and agree it was amzing best we have had, I had the lasagne I often have this and it never lets me down. I am not a pizza person, it is a shame they do not make an in house burger, I have had steak here and as is often the case it is never cooked as requested so I only have steak at home.

Visited for the first time about a week ago and absolutely loved it. Couple of cocktails to get started, which were really nice. The food was good quality and I thought it was very good value for money. You would pay double the money in Leeds for the steaks we had. Service was really good too

Very nice decor for a large restaurant. Staff very attentive and available, but a little thin on the ground when we visited (pm). Food was disappointing for what we expected from a high end restaurant. The seafood salad special was overpowered by lemon in the dressing and tasted sour. The pan fried tuna steak was overcooked for my liking, no pink in the middle, tasted more like tinned tuna, which for me spoiled the dish. The lobster & prawn cocktail was nice though with a conventional Marie rose sauce, but uninspiring. Italian fresh bread board was nice. The creme brulee's were a nice size and we enjoyed those. I think if we visit again, we will stick to more traditional Italian dishes.

It's a very busy restaurant (saturday night when we went). To be fare, service was pretty prompt, the staff are clearly well practiced at serving up quick. They are also pretty attentive, often coming back to take drink orders. We wasn't overly impressed with the food though. Its on the pricey side but the food wasn't anything special. £12.50 for a very standard thin 12" pizza with minimal toppings. It was rather tasteless and despite assurances we didn't think the toppings were right. It's an OK place and to deal with large parties well but the food is only average. Parking is hard, we parked in the company carpark next door, there didn't seem to be signs saying you can't.

Hi. just been to Capri on the vine for a meal with my wife using a voucher we got for Xmas. The food was very good but the service was extremely poor. We waited so long that we had to ask for someone to take our order, we also had to ask for someone to bring more drinks. Final moan, not one person asked if we had enjoyed our food. It's not cheap here so it's fair to expect better service.

I have enjoyed and will again soon the Selezione Di Salumi E Formaggi.

Visited the cafe today for lunch. Very smart and inviting cafe with friendly staff. Food was however poor. Had the avocado on toast with poached eggs. It was stone cold and the eggs were hard. Disappointing.

1st time here for Sunday lunch, perfect in everyday. Food delicious, staff great and attentive, place has a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to come back

Dinner-tea well booked table at 15:00 with friends pre drinks here taken. Helpful friendly staff. Starters excellent Mains no complaints all well presented and well up to par. Of note we was here near on 5 hours so that’s a testimony in its self Lovely afternoon early evening spent and good value for money. Noted gets very popular after 6pm this was a Saturday evening. Well recommend. Menu very varied.
