The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Great staff, fast service, nice food. Great when your going to the Hippodrome and need to eat quick.

The food was fantastic, so often you get just bland Italian food but here there was proper Italian flavours in the pasta, pizza and stater that we had.

Best spaghetti I’ve had in years

I don't know why this place is so busy. The food is in fairly large portions but not great. The garlic bread was dry. Their so-called homemade chips were clearly frozen and were undercooked. I didn't finish either course.

A very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with the menu choices well above average. Fresh cooked and the wait was minimal. Excellent cocktails & choice of wines. Was very impressed that the owner/ manager came to speak to us at our table, we were only visiting for the weekend but will be sure to return next year

Bravissimo! Sophias restaurant is divine inside and out. The interior is loving handmade and decorated with Mediteranean scenes and architecture - and the loo's match too! I can't speak too much of the food as I ordered a bog standard spag bol but with complimentary bread to start and shots to finish i am not complaining :D.

The food was excellent and the waitress was really nice too.

I like the pizza !! The owners are very friendly. It's a nice place for an intimate dinner.

Sister and I dined here before a gig on the 13th April. Meals we ordered were amazing. A gentle prompt from the waiting staff to order a side which was the best part of the meal. Both of us would recommend to other diners to try 10/10 worth a visit.

The gelato was average, shame there were few flavours available. Also I had coffee and it was burnt.

Pleased to get a table without booking considering how busy the area was due to the Marillion weekend happening at DeMontfort. Order taken reasonably quickly. Food was very good, very hot. Only gripe was that the waiter never smiled and thanked us for the cash tip!

Would highly recommend if you like big portions the staff are really friendly and fun I got a steak and it was cooked like I asked came with all the trimmings I had to try the homemade sticky toffee pudding the portion could have fed a family

Been a handful of times in the last year , never disappoints , restaurant is very nice and clean , staff are friendly and welcoming, the food has always been nice . Certainly a restaurant I highly recommend.

The food is had here was delicious. I had the dough balls and the carbonara pizza. The portion of dough balls was very generous with a matching cup of garlic butter. The pizza was well cooked with a lovely combination of flavours. My only criticism is that the actual restaurant itself is quite dark and not particularly atmospheric. I think with some better lighting and a few more decorations it would make it perfect.
