Mio Fiore in West Berkshire

I had a meal at this restaurant last night with a friend prior to going to The Watermill Theatre. We both had dishes from the ‘Specials’ board - my friend had sea bass with mussels and leaks and I had Sicilian chicken which was two large chicken breasts on a bed of mushrooms and potatoes with a marsala sauce. Both were lovely. We were tempted by the dessert menu and these were again great. My pistachio tiramisu was excellent. My friend remarked that even the wine ( a glass of Trebbiano) was really nice. The staff were friendly and attentive helping us with information on the dishes. They even phoned for a taxi to take us to the theatre. I have already recommended this restaurant to someone today and plan to return.

A wonderful meal, mussels, fettuccine and affogato. Couldn’t fault the food or the service despite the restaurant being busy.We will return.

Went for dinner this evening. The food was amazing and service was fantastic! My friend is celiac and they were so accommodating with pointing out foods on the menu as well as with the wine menu. The specials were phenomenal particularly the ravioli and the pistachio tiramisu.

Do not dream of going Zizzi's when an independent like this exists. Could not recommend the place enough. Went at a quiet time but there was 9 of us and everything just everything was exactly as you would want from a restaurant.

I had an incredible time celebrating a friend’s birthday at Mio Fiore. The food was simply amazing, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend the tiramisu - it was absolutely divine!

Really nice food. We were at a table at the end really close to the till which was a bit uncomfortable. Probably not worth having a table there.

Lovely ambience. The service was great too. But the highlight was the food. We had mostly pasta and my youngest had a pizza from the kids menu. It was also perfectly cooked and the flavours were great.

Lovely atmosphere for a quiet birthday dinner. Well Sunday evening is usual quiet. A welcome change from the usual Italian menu

Amazing restaurant with exceptional service! Ardita had a very friendly and attentive service. The food was outstanding - Chef Maria’s homemade pasta and pizzas were super delicious. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious Italian food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

We enjoyed a Birthday celebration here. Nice location and atmosphere in the restaurant. The food and drink was superb. We were upstairs which overlooks the rest of the restaurant which was also nice.

What an incredible restaurant to eat in. Lovely atmosphere, staff who know what they're doing and offering food service, and the food was mind blowing in it's excellence.

We were in Newbury for an event and chose Mio Fiore for its location and cuisine. It was one of the best meals out we have had. Lovely Fettucine Calabrese followed by an amazing Pistachio Tiramisu. Attentive and sensitive service. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy dinner. Damien is an excellent host, attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and delicious cocktails. Maria, the chef, makes outstanding pasta dishes, you have to try them when visiting. The attention to detail in both the food and service made the evening unforgettable. Can't wait to return! Staff were fantastic. Friendly, making recommendations on the menu, and interacting with our group. Food was great taste and quality. Our group ordered all the starters to share and everyone liked them. My main was the steak and they nailed medium rare. Highly recommend.

So a night out to celebrate a small occasion. Lovely atmosphere, my husband and I both decided on the “specials board” He had the lamb chops with buttery mash potato with a tasty gravy and I had the grilled hake set in a bed of mussels done in a creamy white wine and garlic sauce. Both were really good. We shared a burrata mozzarella on a bed of fresh rocket and fresh ripe figs. Overall, the food was great and the service top notch. And to top it all…. The pannecotta was perfectly wobbly and the cheese cake was silky…. Both served with a fresh berry coulis Overall nothing to fault “We will be back” Well done

Nice food , friendly staff job done

We went here about 6 years ago and enjoyed it. We hadn’t booked and arrived just after 18.00, they had a lot of bookings but managed to fit 4 of us in. Excellent food and a great atmosphere. We won’t leave it so long before returning.

My wife and i paid a visit to Mio Fiore on Saturday evening 21st September. We had a lovely meal and although the restaurant was busy, the service was pretty quick. I couldn't help noticing the fresh coat of paint and new lights on the tables.... definitely worth a visit....

Decided to book Mia Fiore for a Saturday evening out to catch up with old friends. So glad we did! We were greeted warmly and our first impression was how fresh and smart the decor was - looked great. Service was good from start to finish despite how busy the place was. Sometimes when a restaurant is full it can be difficult to make/hear conversations who have much to catch up on - but the atmosphere while buzzing was not overpowering. The menu was more varied than we were expecting and while I really enjoyed the Pollo e Limone, we all had something different. An unexpected treasure - we will be back!

We were celebrating my daughters 26th birthday and we've been to Mio Fiore a few times and enjoyed it however we were very disappointed on this occasion. Service was very slow, the food generally was nice albeit one dish which was dire. A sign outside said "Staff Required" and quite obviously they were struggling and we were very understanding and polite, however they weren't coping with the customers they had yet still inviting people through the door who hadn't booked. It was disappointing but I get that acquiring staff these days is not an easy task. In this situation monitor your bookings and only accept numbers you can cope with. The staff were stressed and looked stressed and behaved stressed! It was very sad to see. This is not a complaint. I just think it needs better staff /service management. Maybe accept less bookings until your staff levels are suitable. I understand this means less turnover but if people get a bad experience they probably won't return. We were compensated and the Manager apologised profusely. We just felt disappointed and sad for the staff as working under these conditions is never nice. However, I do understand the problem with getting staff.

Seemed more interested in taking their time serving to upsell the drinks. Nearly 2 hours for mains to arrive, waiter did not know which calzone was which and left us to find out and no garnish at all just an oval calzone on a large round white plate (simple leaves and dressing would have been something considering the price tag), lights kept flickering up and down. Was really looking forward to it but sorry maybe you had an off night…

Lovely anniversary meal in Mio Fiore, nice setting and ambience sat on the mezzanine floor, friendly professional staff, our mains from the specials menu were delicious.

Fabulous food as always. Ravioli was lush as as a starter. We both had that and I had the special lamb and my friend had the mushroom pasta.

Arrived first at the restaurant to a warm welcome. So no real atmosphere but this was building as we got ready to leave. Good food and service and was getting lively.

I strongly promote you to come to this restaurant. The waiters/waitress were really nice to us:) The foods are great, I absolutely recommend them! We ordered the Slow cooked squid (tomato soup) for starters and it was delicious. They welcome children and that’s good. I will come back again:)

Delighted to be able to visit Mia Fiore on the first day of reopening after the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted. Service was top class, the environment and atmosphere was great and the food was excellent. A superb experience all round.

What can I say! Memorable doesn’t come close. Came with my son and my son and I shared something very personal. The whole ambience jyst lent itself to thst. Our waiter, Famien, was part of that, very professional and also friendly enough to set the scene. He talked us through the menu in detail and provided an inspired choice of wine. The whole evening will always be very special and we will return again and again bvayse if him.. and the food and wine. Both of whichvwerecrxceptional. And a whole rammed restaurant where everyone was talking, not on their phones (except me for this rave review). Thank you. Jane
