We had a fantastic meal while staying in Tewksbury. My risotto was perfect as was my husband’s seafood pasta and the cheesecake was delicious. The staff were also charming and attentive.

Really lovely family run Italian restaurant. The service was so lovely and friendly and the food was great, authentic, fresh Italian food. They accommodated us on a busy evening without a booking and made us very welcome. All you can ask for in a local restaurant. Nice wine too and good value for money.

Had a fab 3 course lunch here with friends. Food was all really tasty and well presented. The young chap who served us was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Popped in here on spec without checking any reviews, and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Will definitely recommend and re-visit.

We entered by chance. It is not a tourist place. And the truth is that the food was very good and very good service from the waiters.

Salerono is a beautiful restaurant run by Lupo who is an actual Italian with a passion for the best food and service, and it shows. The food was absolutely first class and the restaurant was full which is testament to the quality of food and service. What a fantastic atmosphere people were happy and laughing, truly amazing. Starters, mains, deserts (omg the mango topped Cheesecake is so light and fluffy), and the drinks quality exceptional (we had wine and cocktails). We were served mainly by Jack who was smiling, professional and efficient. There were many servers covering this buzzing restaurant, and the smiling kind owner Lupo had enough time to chat and share his story (we asked). Such a lovely experience, if you are visiting Tewkesbury, make this your dining choice, you won't regret it.

Fabulous food, comprehensive menu. Best sharing Antipasti we've ever had. Great atmospeher, very busy, lovely staff. Resonably priced wine. Can't fault and highly recommend. Just go you won't regret it but book this restaurant is very busy.

What a find. Authentic-tasting beautiful Italian food. Best we've had in a very long time. Even though it was a Monday night, the place was really busy but the staff were efficient and friendly and the food arrived in good time. Would not go past it if we find ourselves in Tewkesbury again.

The serving staff are a credit to the place.

We'd been on a long journey and didn't want the bother of cooking. On a Monday evening, we were surprised how busy Salerno was. We're trying to reduce our carbs, so we were glad to find options we could eat, although we'd like to see more. The food was excellent.

Had dinner here with my wife, on a Thursday night. The food was excellent and so was the service. We eat here once or twice a year and never been disappointed, an excellent restaurant

Excellent food very good would recommend

Not just great food, you rarely find a team of such polite, welcoming and hard working young men as we did when eating here. Everyone was so genuine, offering just the right amount of service. I had the very tasty Penne al Forno and my husband had the enormous and equally tasty calzone. We also had a delicious banoffee pie and an Irish coffee. The restaurant was busy but had a very pleasant atmosphere. It was our last night staying in Tewkesbury but we would not hesitate to book there again if we came to the town again. If we lived locally, we would be frequent customers! Highly recommended. Thanks to all the great staff.

Excellent service typical Italian menu, great decor. Lovely birthday suprise dessert which was excellent. Would have been a 10 only Let down for us by lack of information about any daily specials and no draught lager.

Great food, a return definitely on the cards!

The staff are charming and the food amazing! The atmosphere of the place is lovely and all ages were catered for. It was our second visit, as visitors to Tewksbury previously, and it was just as good as we remembered it. Look after this place Tewksbury - it is a little gem. Thank you all for a lovely evening. We will see you again!

I am very sorry to say I was disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered mussels as a starter which were priced at £11.95. I received 12 mussels, 3 of which were hollow, I of which was inedible and they were quite small. My daughter and a friend had Antipasti to share requesting gluten free bread £17.95. The platter arrived with no bread and when I asked where the bread was he told us they didn't have any. The lettuce was stale and see through. Their was a couple of slices of salami, chorizo and parma ham, 4 slices of cheese half an inch wide and no dressing. I am unable to recommend this restaurant as it is grossly overpriced and definitely not value for money.

Delicious authentic Italian food and friendly service, we would definitely recommend. We are only staying in Tewkesbury for one night and happened on this place, so glad we did!

Nice italian restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, banoffee pie was excellent

I organised a quick dinner for a big group of us ( about 20 people) before an event in the abbey. Despite plans to the contrary, we ended up all paying individually ( which must have been a nightmare for the staff!) and, bless them, they just went with it and kept smiling! Our meals all came out pretty much at the same time within 10-15 minutes of us arriving and everyone made complimentary noises! The portions were generous and the food was good.

Nice ambience, friendly staff made for pleasant evening. Chose the ricotta and mozzarella cannelloni which was delicious and a generous portion. Provided with take away box on request for the tirasimu. Unfortunately- disappointing as quite bland.

Excellent Food and great service. The lobster ravioli was divine and the monkfish spaghetti was superb. This was coupled with a high quality Italian wine. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Delicious food, friendly staff and Delicious cocktails

Food was lovely and staff are friendly. Only downside for me (which may not be the same for everyone) there wasn’t enough time between courses to rest for a minute before the next meal. Waiting staff didn’t check if food was ok upon receipt.

Today was absolutely wonderful! I set out to find a town near home with a strong sense of community, and Tewkesbury immediately captured my heart. Every person I encountered greeted me with warmth and smiles, but the highlight of my day was definitely my visit to @salernostewkesbury. I decided to grab a tiramisù to go, mindful of my little dog who feels uneasy in crowded spaces. Upon meeting the owner, I was instantly drawn to learn more about his Italian heritage. Despite the bustling atmosphere, he took the time to chat with me and graciously gifted me the most exquisite tiramisù I've ever tasted in the UK – a gesture that truly made my day unforgettable. In my 11 years in the UK, never have I experienced such genuine kindness and hospitality from an Italian establishment. It wasn't merely about the food; it was about the owner's genuine warmth, spontaneity, and honesty that left a lasting impression on me. This encounter served as a powerful reminder of the profound impact small acts of kindness can have in a world often overshadowed by grand gestures and systemic issues. I'm immensely grateful to the lovely owner of Salerno restaurant for restoring my faith in humanity and making me believe in a better world, where pure acts of kindness prevail over hidden agendas. Grazie di cuore! I can't wait to return, and I wish you continued success and happiness.

Four of us visited here on 6 April. What a fabulous restaurant. Both the food and service were excellent. Some of the best Italian food we've had; a large, varied menu. We are going back at the end of May. Cant wait!

Went with my family of four. Very politely seated us (with no reservation). The food was fantastic, I would really recommend the rigatoni al forno, it was so good! The service was fantastic and I would really recommend this restaurant!

Busy and buzzing, extensive menu and specials menu. A delicious crab and lobster ravioli was served in a fantastic sauce and the sea bass dish was outstanding. Service excellent.

We had a family lunch today for our grandson who was celebrating his 18th birthday . Salerno made it special by bringing his dessert out on a huge plate with happy birthday written on it and a candle . Turned the lights down low and got the whole restaurant singing happy birthday to him . They did this without us asking which was such a lovely thin to do . Our food was , as always excellent . The staff were polite , very knowledgeable, especially about the wine , and very efficient doing their job. Salerno is local to us and a firm favourite restaurant for our family . Thank you for making our grandsons day so special . Look forward to our next visit .

We arrived as a large group with very little notice, enquiring as to whether they could accommodate us. It was a busy Friday evening, but we were greeted so amazingly, and despite the fact that we were clearly going to provide some challenges, they accommodated us perfectly. Service and food were stunning, which isn’t always my experience with a larger group. The starters were superb and the main courses, perfect. The service was really efficient and friendly all the way through and I’ll definitely be returning. The owner is an absolute gentleman and the staff extremely professional. Thank you to all of you for making our evening, such an amazing success.

We had really lovely meal here, the seafood linguine were delicious and generous portion too, plenty of mussels and prawns. We were too dull to have a dessert but will come back for the tiramisu! Thank you

The staff are really good and very helpful

The mains (we had 2 different risottos) were really lovely. Service was good. Would definitely recommend. Toilets a bit chilly and tatty. (Wobbly seat and no loo roll)

Just about ok, the food is very average

Very nice restaurant serving lovely food in good time, enjoyed in pleasant surroundings. Sadly, it has missed out on 5 stars due to an orange juice with lemonade being overpriced at £6.20. The lemonade was served separately in a small bottle, and although this was mentioned when paying, there was no comment or apology made.

We met up with friends for lunch at Salernos on a Sunday in February, the place was quiet at this time of year, but it had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted pleasantly, seated and asked whether we wanted drinks whilst we awaited the other members of our party. The service from very professional young waiter was friendly, efficient and well timed. The food was excellent, we all had starters and main courses and everyone enjoyed their meal. I felt the pricing was good value for generous portions of well cooked, well seasoned and well presented food. I would be very happy to eat there again and highly recommend the place and particularly the Tagliatelle Pescatore - all in all a really good experience!

Terrific puddings, and my best ever coffee( sambuca added)!

Was disappointed that a 10% service charge was added. The menu stated that a service charge would be added for tables of 6+, but there were only 4 of us. What was the service charge for? Should not apply an automatic service charge, it should be up to the customer whether they want to leave a tip or not. It's not like there was anything particularly special about the service.

We came here one evening between Christmas and New Year for the celebration meal we should have had on Christmas Day (but which was inedible - thanks Colwall Park Hotel https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g3955087-d193508-r931053761-Colwall_Park_Hotel_Bar_Restaurant-Colwall_Great_Malvern_Malvern_Hills_Worcesters.html?m=19905). Although we had to wait a short while for our table, the staff acknowledged us immediately, couldn't have been more accommodating, and insisted we had a drink on them. The food itself was yummy. The scallops and calamari were well cooked and the lasagne was hearty and wholesome and just like mamma used to make. (Actually, my mother was a functioning alcoholic from Bridgend with a wooden leg and an irrational and deep-seated loathing of "foreign" foods, but you get the idea). What impressed me most, though, was the attentiveness of the waiters: they were immediately on hand without hovering. The restaurant was full all night, which gave it a lovely buzz. Given the food and service we experienced, this place deserves to be popular.

Visited for my birthday trip away, service started off good, seated quickly and food arrived in good time which was was really nice, unfortunately we then waited quite a while to be asked if we wanted any desserts, I decided on a Creme Brulee, and my husband was going to have another drink, however we couldn't get the attention of any of the waiters & no.one came over to take the order, they seemed to pay more attention to the larger table next to us, asking if their meal was OK, which we never got. We decided in the end to go to to the bar to pay, and was given an extra 10% charge on the bill, which we didn't think was ok as we'd been waiting for ages & then not received. Went to another pub for the drink we didn't get. Lovely food but just let down at the end which was a shame.

Excellent from start to finish. The restaurant felt cosy and welcoming. The staff are attentive, friendly and polite. Our food was so tasty, one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Both times we have been we turned up without a reservation on a busy night and they still managed to make space for us. All of the staff are amazing and the food is delicious!

What a find. We had one of the best Italian meals in or outside of Italy. Fresh produce, great tastes and a suburb caprese salad ( where so they get such great tasting tomatoes in November!). We had the housers and white which was very drinkable.. warm welkom and swift service. 2/3rds full on a Tuesday in November says it all.

Great food on what was a cold rainy day

Really nice, traditional Italian. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. The whitebait starter is fantastic and the pizzas looked incredible. We were surprised how busy it was for a weekday night which just shows how popular it is.

Booked for a meal with family to celebrate being together (we all live in different parts of the country) and my brother's birthday. From the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming, helpful and patient with our rather lively group! Everyone really enjoyed the superb food, one brother commented it was the best risotto he'd ever had! Made a special desert with candle for a birthday sing-along. All round a fantastic evening - thank you.

Today we was first time in Salerno restaurant and atmosphere and staff and food was absolutely amazing we will be definitely coming back again.

This spot was great for a casual night out. We ate in the early evening And the restaurent was initially quiet but quickly filled up with people who were obviously regulars. I’m coeliac and I had checked online that it offered gluten free fayre. I was surprised that they didn’t offer gluten free pasta or pizza, but there were other options available. I had the leak and salmon risotto which was amazing. Would highly recommend

Had two excellent meals here on our holiday in Tewksbury. The first meal and experience was so good we returned for another delicious meal. Service was excellent and the food lovley on both occasions. A very busy restaurant and we were lucky to get a table but we would definitely go again if we are in the area. Only negatives I can think of - and I’m bing picky here - are that it is on the expensive side and that although very nicely decorated, the venue is brightly lit and not a venue for a romantic night out. It is the best restaurant we tried of the few there are in Tewksbury.

Good varied menu, all delicious, cooked fresh and hot, appropriate portion sizes, very hard-working and friendly boss and staff. We had booked (for 7pm) thank goodness, because there was a long queue of customers waiting to come in, and as fast as one table cleared...

Busy but that didn't impact on the service we received. Good choice of options, reasonable prices. Would certainly visit again.

As soon as we walked in we were welcomed, restaurant aesthetic was very nice and the food was brilliant, staff were also very nice if I was a local I’d definitely be back, would recommend to anyone visiting this way :) !!

Came out as one of the top Italian restaurants so as it was near where we were staying we gave it ago. Friendly staff, food nice but not as nice as our local one. It was busy on a Friday night so obviously popular. We ended up having three courses which we don't normally as usually full.
