Always excellent food and service

Food well presented and tasty. Staff attentive,friendly and prompt responses for email booking enquiries. Importantly, dog friendly venue. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely traditional Italian food great service good prices

We had a really lovely evening, very welcoming owners, good atmosphere and most importantly delicious food! We were able to take our dog too which was a nice surprise when I enquired a few weeks ago. She was also treated to a very warm welcome, water and ham - so we were all happy. A wonderful Italian restaurant - not to be missed.

Good authentic Italian food and the staff cared that we enjoyed it. Not the usual is everything ok but they came and saw us at the end of our meal and had a brief chat.

What a gem. Simple layout but had a brilliant night. The owner was celebrating her birthday as we were our anniversary so we hit it off. Such a genial host as spent time with every customer and the services not affected at all. We had three excellent courses and a very good Montepolicciano D’Abbruzo. Definitely worth the money and will be back.

Fabulous hospitality, lovely food. We booked at short notice for a party of 14. The team managed to accommodate us as it was early and mid-week and their hospitality was outstanding. We really appreciated how much effort they put in to making sure everything was perfect for us - and the food was great. From pizza, pasta and risotto to cheesecake and mousse cake, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Been on a visit to aunts and came here ( been b4) and the food was delicious and service was second to none. Owner took our order ( asked if we could have a different dish to what was on set menu) and she oblidged, was a really lovely lady and rest of staff too! Would definitely recommend this place, would recommend booking though as was busy, will be back.

we were stood outside deciding wether to go in and one of the workers come out and asks us to move, we get ready to start moving and he starts shouting and then threatens to “kill us” and “stab us”. Disgusting atmosphere with dangerous workers, would not recommend.

We've found ourselves in Tewkesbury a couple of times in the last year and both times this refreshingly unpretentious restaurant has fed us extremely well.

We’ve just spent a couple of days in Tewkesbury on our way back home from South Devon, and had a lovely meal here this evening. Food, service and ambience were all great. Would wholeheartedly recommend

We visited this restaurant purely on the strength of other reviews and they were all proven right. We emailed to book a table and received confirmation very quickly. We had the bread and olives starter followed by the spicy sausage tagliatelle. The chilli and tomato sauce was amazing, one of the best dishes we have had. We even had room for desserts which were also lovely. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The cost of the meal proved excellent value for money. We will definitely visit again when in the area

Pasta dishes were OK, service was good. Not a great atmosphere and been to a lot better Italian restaurants.

Lovely little italian place. Baby chef did a great job! Gorgeous food.

The hostess really made our visit - a lovely lady. As well as her friendly nature, she’d marked our special event with glitter and (discreet) balloons as well as giving us a complimentary limoncello to round off our evening. Oh, and the food was good too!

Went on the 10th of June for a family birthday meal. Lovely friendly place and the food was amazing, fresh and delicious. Service was great. Totally recommend this lovely little restaurant.

Visited for a family ‘special birthday’ meal at the end of May, there were 16 of us altogether, so we took over most of the front part of the restaurant! Natasha and the team were brilliant, decorated with some banners and balloons for us and made us very welcome. We hadn’t preordered and expected a bit of a wait, but actually didn’t wait longer considering the amount of us. The food was lovely as always, piping hot and very tasty. Would highly recommend a visit for anyone that’s never been, you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely tasty food, well served. Plenty of choice for us on the pre-theatre, 2-course menu at £18.50 pp. Will definitely come again, and bring friends.

Have been here a few times with family. Lately I have needed to go gluten free on top of vegan which is tricky when eating out. Generally I dread GF/DF pizzas but these were really good - if you didn't know any better, you would assume it wasn't (don't worry - it is different to their normal ones). They had a number of options I could have for starters, mains and dessert and all were really nice. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Great little restaurant.

Absolutely fabulous Italian restaurant. The food is wonderful and the service is great. Even Winnie the cockapoo was given a slice of ham and an doggie ice cream. We will return

Four very good meals. Well priced bottle of wine. Good service from everyone. A shame that there were so many people who preferred to shout to each rather than talk nicely but this wasn't the fault of the restaurant.

This restaurant serves brilliant Italian food and welcomes well behaved dogs although I would strongly recommend you let them know in advance when you reserve your table. Tonight was my wife’s birthday and the table and surroundings were specially decorated and every meal we have had here has been great. Service is impeccable and the owners really care about their guests - two legged and four legged! Murphy and Bounty!

Warm friendly service and great food. Always a pleasure to eat here.

The pizza here is absolutely perfect! The pepperoni has a hearty meatiness to it, the cheese melts perfectly in your mouth, the tomato sauce is leagues ahead of any other pizza I've ever had and the crust has an absolutely amazing bite to it. The cheesecake is also perfect, with a light but enticing flavour and creamy texture combined with a delicious crust that perfectly rounds out the entire meal. It's totally worth going here even if you don't live near the area.

Despite the basic surroundings, the food was amazing and the staff were efficient and friendly.

It's average food but ours was heavily salted. Atmosphere is ok but not the best place to take someone on a date! Bit like a cafe but the prices are very reasonable.

Best lasagne I've had in bloody ages...... And the pizzas were gorgeous too. Thankyou for a lovely meal.

The food was excellent. The owner talked to me about the various starter option I fancied and I settled on prawns which were delicious! Pizza was deliciously flavourful, crisp base yet juicy and succulent toppings. I had a lemon tart desert and it finished the meal off wonderfully.

The restaurant was cold, the table next to ours was covered with empty boxes and cleaning equipment. The food was overpriced and tasteless, the gluten free pizza base which we were assured was very good was inedible. To make matters worse the widow cill of the gents toilet was covered on dust and cobwebs and the areas away from the main dining room looked neglected and grubby. Needless to say l won't be visiting this particular establishment again.

Phenomenal meal with my family. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating! The food was gorgeous, lovely variety and absolutely delicious! Made a brilliant family get together!

We travelled from France for a family celebration and the whole visit to the restaurant was superb. Our waitress Molly (or Mollie) could not have been better. We had a great time and would definitely dîne there again whenever we visit Tewkesbury.

A really beautiful little restaurant with friendly staff and fantastic food. Gentle playlist in the background and a very relaxed atmosphere. Lots of variety on the menu, and they were really accommodating of my food allergy with no fuss at all. The restaurant manager booked us in last minute and made their schedule work for us so that we could come in to eat. Would recommend their pizzas and any of their seafood dishes, especially the tagliatelle - so, so delicious. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in or around Tewkesbury (:

Excellent food and excellent service. The quantity of food was well judged (not too much) and the quality was excellent. I had the chicken and mushroom risotto; the flavours were well balanced. My companion and I both ate all the food on our plates. Also, good value for money. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious. Went there to celebrate my son finishing his A-levels and it didn’t disappoint! There was a celebration balloon over the table and the most attentive and caring service, with fantastic food. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!

Unbelievably good - never been before, just followed the reviews. Booked a meal the day after our wedding for 10 people - Natasha had placed balloons on our table!🎈 We got such a warm welcome from all of the staff, the food was delicious and it was a busy buzzy atmosphere - would definitely recommend.👍

Terrible experience, where to start? Right, on entering we were welcomed to sit wherever, however no tables were laid and the overall atmosphere was disappointing - the seating and tables more of a casual diner look and table not laid. To start we chose the 'Brie bites' off a 'specials' board and 'bruscetta with tomato, halloumi and side salad'. Oh dear, the brie was obviously from a bag in the freezer and the bruscetta turned out to be freezing cold Focaccia topped with same salad leaves and chopped tomato that accompanied the brie bites. There was also a tiny amount of diced halloumi on the top. My husband's seafood pizza had a burnt crust and soggy middle, which we assume was from the bits of frozen seafood on the top. The extra salad was, again, the same leaves and chopped tomato as on other dishes. My penne pasta with chopped mushroom was a very small portion and totally bland. Throughout the whole time we were there the staff chattered none stop, including the young man preparing the food, whilst dirty plates were left between courses and cutlery not brought out until food arrived. With 2 beers the bill came to over £62. If I could give zero stars I would. It was abysmal to say the least. Response to your reply... The lack of customers was not the reason for lack of atmosphere, more the sparse decor, etc. The place was near empty! Either way, no excuse for poor food, service, etc. If you are open you are accepting customers, who are entitled to expect a standard of food and service reflective of the prices charged. My mistake, mozzarella, not halloumi, however I note you have no defence of my honest and accurate description of what was served. No point complaining when the problem could not be rectified - ie. if that's what you serve how could you improve??!!! Just need to give any prospective customers the opportunity to make a choice based on a totally honest and accurate review. It was the worst meal we have ever had, no more to say.

Delicious food, fantastic staff, service was brilliant and their attention to detail made our mums birthday that little bit more special. The food was gorgeous, well presented and delicious. Thank you Zitto for making the end of our visit to Tewkesbury so much better than we thought. Highly recommend.

4 of us dined in for a 3 course meal on the way back from Cheltenham. All courses were great, a special mention to the pizza 😘👌🏻 Service was also top, we had a young lady look after our table (she did tell me her name but i’m sorry i’ve forgot!) she laughed and joked with us all night great experience ⭐️

The staff are amazing, which normally I mention the food first, but it’s really great here the staff are great. The food is brilliant, can’t say much more, it was brilliant. If you love real Italiano, this place is 5 Star.

Lovely pre theatre meal. Antipasta starter tasty as was the penne arriabata pasta.

Amazing food and great staff. We were a group of 7 but the wait was extremely short considering our size and that there were other people in the restaurant too. The staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. We felt very welcome. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Poor experience and after my partner getting a very snotty reply to his review when he very much didn’t slate them as badly as maybe we should have done maybe ‘word of mouth’ will certainly help the cause. Will never return. EDIT After reading my reply back, my partners and many others on your reviews I am utterly shocked your still in business. One reply says 'It seems maybe you are the problem'. My best advice is when you receive a poor review you want to contest it to ask for the customers details and discuss privately and not on a google review and blame the customer.

Having been to Salerno multiple times, my partner and I thought we would try Zitto e Mangia. Whilst the food was acceptable (apart from the Creme Brûlée), the service got progressively worse through the night to the point where my partner had to ask for our plates to be cleared away after 30 minutes waiting and then had to then ask someone for the bill after waiting for a long time. The owner was on her laptop ordering things and the waiter was stood on his phone at the till. We had such high hopes for this restaurant as we frequently eat out and wanted to have another destination added to our favourites, but this massively missed the mark. If you are looking for Italian food in Tewkesbury there is only one place to go… Salerno! Edit: Would have come back for a second chance, but the owner has decided to take the full attacking stance. I too run a business and would have seen this review as an opportunity to improve and communicate with a local foodie, NOT deny all areas of improvement! AVOID!!!!

A first visit, and the food was so tasty. I had the spicy pizza and B had the best carbonara! Tiramisu was lovely too. Good service from the friendly team.

Been several times (not by my choice) food mainly average. Specials on the board have been the same for years. Most dishes are cooked by chef Mic, I'd say nothing is freshly prepared. Service is bad, it is like being a customer upsets them and they take it out on you. Last time myself and a friend went we were told we could have a table if we were quick as they were busy and had a booking on the table they sat us at. But then ignored us and served everyone around us, took ages to bring us our drinks. we watched the table that sat after us start their mains while we were waiting for our starters, the owner lady told us it was to do with the chef timings and intricacy of each dish (our starters were calamari and Bree, both out of a freezer bag) when our meal was over we tried to signal to the waitress for the bill but she also ignored us for nearly 20minutes, by this time my friend was ready to flip the table and kick off. Thankfully he didn't and both agreed we will never return to this "restaurant" Edit: Everything I have written here is 100% my experience, not written for another establishment. No porkies, just facts. Your response confirms how you treat people who have spent money in you establishment. The brie starter is not on your menu anymore, congratulations on finally changing your menu, it was on the board as brie/camembert. Would you like another of my experiences in your establishment? I came in to book a table on behalf of my Aunt, I explained that as it was a particularly hot week that could we possibly have a seat near the door and my aunt would need a bit of space as she is a larger lady, you said "absolutely, no problem at all" when we turned up for our booking you sat us in front of the kitchen, my aunt said about going home for a Chinese and you laughed, it was not a joke, she was angry, yet we stayed, half way through our meal you moved us from the seat by the kitchen to the table we had asked for, and served us burnt pizzas. Edit: your responses to my experiences show your attitude toward customers. Both instances are 100% my experience, as are other reviews that I've posted. We did voice how we felt at the time but were shrugged off or laughed at like we were joking. I only reviewed now as google popped up and asked me to, no other reason.

Always yummy.. A firm family favourite after swimming! The honey and cream dish (usually pork) is to die for! And the chocolate and ice cream pizza pud is a masterpiece! X

Amazing food and restaurant! Great food and very kind and hospitable staff. I ordered the Alla Valdostana, and it was fantastic. The portion was significantly bigger than my normal dinner portions, and I devoured the entire thing and wanted more. I consider myself to be a decent cook, and I didn’t add anything to the meal. All I could think during dinner was this genuinely was the best Italian chicken entree I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend!

Was my friend’s and I favorite place. After a long day at the beach and getting stuck in the city we ended up here. Giorgio was the best waiter I may have ever had. He offered to help us in any way & went above and beyond. We all loved him and the restaurant. Food and service 10/10! Much love!

Been coming here frequently for a few years now and once again this evening we have had a lovely meal. All fresh and made on the premises. The place was full so had a little wait but as they say the wait is worth it if you want quality! Those that moan about waiting or tastes varying that is because it is made fresh and that is what you are paying for if you want fast service and production line food you should go to McDonalds !

Ordered a takeaway from here after being recommended this restaurant. Wow! Food was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic. I was served by a lovely lady and gentleman who I believe are the owners. They gave us heart chocolates for the 3 of us which my little girl absolutely loved. My husband and puppy were waiting outside and they invited them in so they could meet the puppy. They fused over him and give him some ham as a little treat. It’s the little things that make excellent customer service and this restaurant has it all! Wish I could give 10 out of 5! xxx

Excellent pizza, genuine Italian welcome. This place is a gem in Tewkesbury. As well as great food, there is a genuine warmth that is more than just making it a successful business. We don't live in the area, but we take a detour this way when we can, just to eat here.
