The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Had a wonderful meal for two tonight at Don Alberto in Holmes Chapel. We’ve passed many times driving home & finally dropped in. What a fantastic surprise - Lovely interior & ambiance. Well set out with good spacing between tables. Kieron announced he was looking after us. We had a seafood linguini & chicken carbonara mains. We arrived quite late - only an hour before closing but the guys were great & all the food was beautifully cooked, so compliments to the chef. On Kieron’s recommendation I’d sampled their own micro brewery Don Alberto lager & again all good. Pristine white cloth napkins was also a big tick. Kieron looked after us really well. Nothing too much trouble. He even gave us the details of the restaurants Spotify background music. When U drop in on a place & it’s this good it makes the evening. It’s a great little find for us & we should’ve called in years ago.

Went to the place for my mother’s birthday , like I rate the food every dish we ordered is so delicious . The Remo’s lamb shank is so tender and soft , the seafood spaghetti was also full of spice flavours , dithers dishes was also so fantastic! We lastly ordered dessert and asked to write some wordings like ‘happy birthday’ it surprisingly started to play the happy birthday song and came out with a massive candle !! Such a great and lovely experience and will definitely go visit again ☺️

Authentic little Italian restaurant just off the main high street. The Italian lady who served us was incredibly welcoming, almost like stepping inside her home. The food is very good and full of flavour. We didn't feel at all rushed with a huge amount of choice on the menu. A nut allergy was catered for amazingly, and they explained they don't use nuts on or in anything except the trifle. We'll definitely be retuning here.

We were taken to Villa Capri by friends from Warwick last night Following a warm and friendly welcome we were very taken with the comprehensive menu that made making a choice very difficult!starters of beef cannelloni were excellent and breaded veal scaloppine and clam and mussels pasta were just as good. Our friends equally enjoyed their selections The friendly staff contributed so much to the evening and I wish we were locals who could visit the restaurant more frequently! Many thanks

Frozen chips. Children of staff playing on electronic games so were quite noisy which I wouldnt expect in a respectable establishment. Wouldnt go again.

We visited here with friends. We were welcomed warmly. The restaurant was quiet even for a Thursday night. The service was prompt & friendly. We had a nice shared starter between the four of us. The main courses were very nice. No complaints from anyone. The white wine we had was very nice. All in all, a nice experience.

Food was great! Atmosphere was quiet to start bcs we were early and then became quite busy. What made our experience perfect was the excellent, attentive, and friendly service of Federico!! He inquired about our special occasion and, even though he was managing quite a number of other tables, he took initiative to make our celebration extra special. The Best!! Thank you very much Federico!!

Excellent service beautiful food. Served with a smile and perfect portion size. If you are looking for chain food not the place. This is beautiful home cooked food with exquisite taste . Loved it

An absolutely gorgeous restaurant with delicious authentic fresh food. Was my first visit on a Thursday night and went solo as I've just moved to the area. The buffalo mozzarella salad was gorgeous with lovely sweet tomatoes, avocado and pesto. I then had the prawn risotto with asparagus which was great too. Nice polite service and I had a quick conversation with a lady named Veronica who was really pleasant and friendly too. Am already looking forward to returning.

fantastico ..the quality of the ingredients top notch ...the hosts superb and the wine list carefully selected ..little gem no to be missed if you are in the area...

We Had two lovely pizzas, with all the additional toppings we wanted, and a couple of glasses of delicious house red. Lovely friendly service, chilled atmosphere and at a little over £40 for the lot we would recommend this lovely little restaurant to everyone.

A family meal, we went for the taster menu. Every course was lovely. A family run restaurant a lovely evening with great friendly service and great food

We love Fabios so much, not sure why we haven’t left a review yet but tonight’s meal reminded us why we needed to! From the warm welcome at the door to the team remembering where you prefer to sit and what you drink, it feels so much that you’re part of the family at Fabios. Tonight’s Spaghetti Al Ortolana and Linguine allo Scogolio - honestly the best pasta we’ve had in recent years, it rivals Tullio in Rome. For a little piece of Italy in Swindon’s old town; go to Fabios- it is, absolutely wonderful.

We ordered 2 rib eye steaks, both of which were fatty and gristly. We mentioned this to the waiter who spoke to the chef and explained that unfortunately this is how they are. I’ve never had fatty rib eye before so can only think these were poor quality. The rest of the food was lovely and the service was great but as this is the second time I’ve been left disappointed with my main meal (last year I returned my lasagne as it was terrible) so we probably won’t be returning here.

We came at a quiet time and received excellent service. Our food was delicious and will certainly come again.
