Amici in Isle of Wight

We have just had the best Italian food since I was last in Italy 20 years ago. My wife had seabass prawns and lemon in a white wine sauce, mixed veg and asparagus. I had veal Romana. No photograph could do it justice. Many thanks to the Staff for great service, great food and wonderful atmosphere!

Enjoyed an excellent meal with some friends. The best lasagne I've ever had.

We visited Amici restaurant on a Sunday night around 8.30pm. We had not booked a table but they were able to seat us straight away. Amici had been thoroughly recommended by our Air B&B host. Both my partner and myself do not eat meat and whilst we prefer to follow more of a Vegan based diet on occasion we may select Vegetarian if Menu options are not available. We selected a Garlic bread and some Fries to share as a Starter. The Garlic bread was huge and filled a large plate and was very tasty. Amici did not offer any Vegan options, however they were able to serve a vegetable laden hot chilli Pizza without cheese at my request which was truly delicious. My partner chose a Pasta with hot chilli's which she thoroughly enjoyed. The portion size was very generous and she had some boxed up to take away. The staff were exceptionally friendly, polite and chatty. I believe our server was called Summer, very helpful with a lovely personality that enhanced our overall dining experience. I have rated Amici as FOUR Stars as the lack of a single Vegan option being my reason. Overall a FIVE Star rating is worthy but it would be a welcome addition to see Vegan selections on the Menu. I would however, absolutely recommend a visit to Amici.

Can’t fault the food. It was presented very nicely and tasted great. It was a fair while waiting for the main but it was well worth it. I would rather wait for great food that’s freshly cooked than be served average food quickly. The table service was very good and friendly. We found out at the end of the evening that the young lady who served us was her first night. She did an excellent job. We were a party of four on holiday and dined on a Thursday evening. IF you fancy Italian then I would all highly recommend Amici.

Amazing food and service! Waiters Summer and Angelo were lovely, attentive, and very helpful! The food was absolutely delicious as well, can strongly recommend the crab pasta and the mushroom pasta! 10/10 :)

We popped in here on a Monday evening assuming it would be fairly quiet - we were wrong and later could see why! We had not prebooked but luckily they had a few tables free for walk-ins. The restaurant was very busy but had a great vibe. We ordered a Garlic Bread with Cheese to start which was devine! I ordered Ravioli for Main and my son ordered a pizza. Again both of these dishes were delicious. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. This place is busy because it is sooo good and one of the best places to eat in Shanklin. We will definitely return here when we next visit. Well done Amici - you are doing a fantastic job :)

I thought this was just going to be a quick in and out pizza restaurant- however the service was really good as was the wine and the pizza amici and pasta amici were both excellent as was the tiramisu dessert. Even though not right in the High Road, this restaurant definitely deserves a visit.

Table for whole family of 11 was no problem (Three generations). Service prompt and pleasant Food was excellent. Made to feel welcome and special from start to finish. No hesitation in recommending a visit.

We visited this restaurant on holiday and had a very enjoyable meal. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, well cooked, and generous in portion size. The menu was slightly limited but still plenty of choice for our tastes covering meat and fish dishes as well as traditional Italian pizza and pasta dishes. Would certainly visit again.

Great food & wonderful family business even if their young son is a Man City fan. I think we converted him to an Arsenal fan. We enjoyed food & the family. We live in Florida & it’s hard to get such good Italian food. We highly recommend Amici! Love love it. 🇮🇹

Food is very good, pizza, pasta or fish/meat of choice. They were also accommodating for a vegan although the menu does not specify vegan dishes. Great service. Got very busy too so booking is advised.

Restaurant was fully booked but Angelo managed to find a table for 2, pizza was delicious (Atomica) and my wife's pasta as well. Have I had such a great Italian restaurant near home, I'd go every week!

We loved everything! The service, the wine and the food! It felt like we were in Italy! I had the peccheri mare mio and my husband had the atomica pizza. We could not be happier with our choices. The restaurant was fully booked but Angelo manage to get us a table, they were very kind! Super recommended!

We had the best evening out here. Food,service and attention to detail was outstanding. We love Italian food and have our absolute favourite at home in Birmingham but this was totally on par with that. Thank you to the whole team for looking after us and for letting us make such happy memories with our family whilst enjoying delicious food and drink..As you can tell,I cannot rate this place enough.

Amici Italian Restaurant is a gem! The food is consistently delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts. The tiramisu is a must-try – it’s light, creamy, and simply divine. Wonderful dining experience!

Dining at Amici is always a pleasure. The seafood linguine is my favorite dish – it’s fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The wine selection is great too, with options that pair beautifully with the meal. Definitely recommended!

Amici is hands down the best Italian restaurant in town! The pasta dishes are so authentic and full of flavor. Every bite takes me back to Italy. The service is also exceptional, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Pre booked a table,was fairly busy....waited around 45 mins for starter but was well worth the wait the starter and mains (pizza) were delicious.

We visited yesterday evening and shared some of the most authentic cuisine we ever had, even surpassing many restaurants in Italy in quality. We tried the pasta and pizza and were amazed how tasty it was. We even got some for takeout, which we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning. It's a small restaurant, which seems to be getting popularity through its especially good kitchen, ambiance, and very friendly staff. If able, I'd recommend reserving in advance. All in all, an amazing place to dine in and definitely on my itinerary for the next visit to iow.

We went here as a treat on our last day of holiday and wow, it just blew us away. All of the service was lovely and attentive, the food was just incredible and the atmosphere was so lovely. It was genuinely one of the nicest Italian meals we’ve ever had, including those in Italy! The delicious complimentary biscuits at the and were just the icing on the cake. Amazing.

We were very very well treated by amazing staff, really obliging. This is an excellent restaurant and we recommend it !

Lovely place. Great food and by far the best service we received on the island. Run by thoughtful, friendly people who want to give you a good time and help you out.

Firstly. The value for money in this restaurant was the best that I came across on the whole island and the food was equally as amazing, lovely staff and they even gave my daughter a big bag of Italian biscuits as a thank you for the tip I left, honest tasty food delivered by lovely staff.

One of the best Italians I've been too! I went here with a group of 6. Incredible food, great atmosphere and the staff and owners were incredibly hospitable! Food portions where big, we had a starter and a main and the starter was big enough to fill you up by its self. Finished off with a free shot of lemon limoncello ( and they gave us the rest of the bottle to finish off ) All in all it was an incredible experience! Highly, highly reccomend!

Very lovely restaurant. Parking just behind the building. Very clean and quite modern. Servers are fast and polite. The food is made fresh so you wait a while (but worth it). There is a great variety of pastas and pizzas as well as meat and fish dishes. Came here as a family and all got something different. Everything was delicious. My only complaint is that I ordered seabass with crab but they seemed to have forgotten the crab. For dessert we had tiramisu (takeout so I didnt get a picture) and profiteroles. Tiramisu was A tier, soft, creamy and homemade. Its very hard to find good tiramisu in restaurants but this one nailed it. Apart from tasting great its very cheap and impeccable service.

Nice Italian restaurant with good choice of good food but if you want a nice quiet place to eat it does get noisy

We visited while on holiday and really enjoyed Amici. Excellent seafood mains and the best tiramisu for a long while. The staff and locals are friendly too.

What a great find this Italian Restaurant was, it's to be found in Shanklin Old Town high street. It is run by a lovely Italian Family who offer great food, also a good selection of wine and beer are very reasonable prices. It was recommended to us by the owner of the Avenue B&B, and yes very glad we went. Have to say it was that good we went for a 2nd visit, and yes still as good, tasty and hot all served by great staff. Would highly recommend a visit to this great restaurant soon.

Excellent food and really friendly staff, tagliatelle was delicious nice rich sauce, lasagne superb and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend coming here and will go again when in the area.

Awesome helpful staff they were very busy, we hadn't booked but they sorted us out a table. Juicy lamb shanks and some of the most spicy pepperoni I've ever had on a perfect pizza. Probably one of the best most authentic Italian restaurants I've ever visited and very reasonably priced 👍

Excellent service, everyone working was friendly and attentive. We were last to leave a little after their closing time but they told us not to rush and to enjoy finishing our meal and drinks. Menu choice was great and food came out in a reasonable time. Everything we had was very tasty. A very enjoyable meal.

What a brilliant place this is the two waitresses we're brilliant not only did they let us in 15 mins before they opened they were funny fast and polite when you're staff are this good you're on to a winner the food was amazing I had the mix grill which was excellent the pepper corn sauce was lush the steak chicken pork lamb sausage and onion rings brilliant the grilled veg and salad superb wife had the lasagne really good creamy meaty tomatoey goodness salad garlic bread lush 2 cokes 45 quid well worth it well done guys thank-you see yer next time I'm over

1st class food this place never disappoints.

Lasagna is particularly sour to my taste. The crab pasta was decent by comparison, but mediocre. It's hard to imagine how little the price gives, especially the crab meat, which I feel is not as much as three small crab legs. It is better to go to the seaside to eat, the seaside lasagna quantity is large and not particularly sour, and the price is suitable. The most important thing is that the food is very slow, no one takes care of us, and the checkout is very slow

Only on the IOW for a week, but had to come back for a second taste. Both times delicious food, dessert wasn't as soaked as I would of liked, rather dry. But I realise some may prefer it that way.

Amazing food! We had the tagliatelle dishes, loads of prawns. The sauce was beautiful. Shame there wasn't more pudding choices but the mains where so nice it didn't worry us. Highly recommended

Very nice restaurant. Food was delicious and reasonabley priced. I got a pizza and it was fantastic! It is fairly oily, so if that's something you don't like maby don't get the pizza. Yet I really enjoyed it. I also had cake and it was apsaluteley devine. I really recommend this restaurant

Had a lovely meal on Friday evening. All three of us enjoyed our dishes - and my husband is very particular - so it must have been good. They had two different Seabass dishes. I had a skewer which consisted of scallops, prawns, veg etc with a delicious lemony sauce (even had to ask for a spoon as didn't want to waste a drop). Attentive staff, lovely food, what's not to like. Well worth a visit, give it a try.

An unpretentious little restaurant that has a great family feel and serves awesome Italian food. My wife and I had the Capasanta to start and it was fabulous. We had the Marinara and Napoli pizzas for main and they were incredibly good too. Really impressed.

We had read the great reviews so were somewhat disappointed with this average restaurant. The food was actually quite bland and needing some seasoning. Quite underwhelming. The best thing about this place was the waitress who was friendly and attentive,

We are here in as holiday a group of 5 people we choice filet steak with veg and potatoes was all perfect the steak was cooked perfect and the price is perfect 25£ each !!!

We were the only diners on a Sunday evening - we think they opened just because we wanted to make a booking. Service was friendly and prompt. We had arrived in town after a long day so settled for main courses and no wine. My wife had lamb in creamy mint-sauce which was excellent - generous portion and tender lamb. I had the house special which was pasta with monk-fish tails. Although very tasty I felt the fish was hard to find - I did mention this. Unfortunately they were not planning to open any during the rest of our stay as we would have liked to have revisited for a full meal.

It was our lucky day when we were able to dine at Amici. The staff were brilliant, the food was incredible and the whole experience was faultless. Don’t miss an opportunity to eat here - we’re going back tomorrow night - it is excellent.

We happened to pass while walking. What a gem of a place. Angelo made us feel so welcome, the menu is varied with something for everyone. It was a busy night and service was spot on. Most interesting was the number of Italians eating there. That says it all.

Me and my friend came here the other night for dinner and it was beyond fantastic, we were meant to go in October time but sadly when we arrived, the restaurant was shut when we booked the table, any way, we went again and it was just amazing, the staff were lovely, friendly and the food was perfect, thank you for your kindness at the end of the meal regarding our last visit, we really enjoyed the lemon cellos at the end! will see you again soon!

Brilliant Italian restaurant, very good menu . Far more than the usual pasta and pizza. I had a lovely shellfish kebab . Service was amazing especially as the restaurant was full. I have booked again. I would suggest booking as they seem to fill up

We really enjoyed our meal here The king prawn skewer in particular was a lovely surprise, although a few more vegetables would have been welcome. Lasagna was tasty with accompanying salad. It was a busy Thursday night, so we were lucky to get in despite our booking not being found. Enjoyable meal overall

My family and I visited last night while on holiday on IoW. Fantastic pizzas and service. Lovely stone baked thin crust pizzas and toppings. We will definitely come again next time we are in the area.

Popped in by chance at 17.30 hrs on Saturday evening to see if I could book a table for 10 people. Rebecca was very friendly and accommodating. She managed to get us in. Food and service was tip top. Pizzas, mixed grill, steaks, veal dishes, pasta all lovely. Great place, thoroughly recommended and Rebecca’s family are lovely. Thank you Rebecca. Will be back next year at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally

Service and food very good we were well looked after found us a table without any problem nice tender lamb skewer and the ravioli Norma was very good. Portion sizes were ok and overall excellent value, we will go back to try the fish and meat dishes

A very basic Italian, nothing impressed food was ok , service was ok , never been given a aperol spritz in a small wine glass or without a orange slice and without ice but they were very busy so lots of others must like it

Awful experience, food was awful, I asked what they recommended and it was bland the pancetta was rubbery and the pasta sauce was terrible and very oily, the pizza was burnt at the crust and very oily. Staff were not attentive and didn’t check back to see that we were not enjoying their food, drinks list very small and wine list was very poor. Over priced for you can make a lot better at home.
