Great dinner here while staying in Ryde. Walked here from our hotel and we were very glad we did! I had the Penne del Pastore and wish I could find a recipe for this delicious dish. Our waitress was a sweet girl, a member of the family that owns the restaurant. She was leaving to go back to Italy soon to focus on her harp playing. I wish her well. Definitely stop here if you are ever in the Ryde area!

What an amazing find. We popped in for lunch on the off-chance and were very happy that we did. The pasta was delicious, the bread fresh & tasty, the service excellent and the cost reasonable.

I have just had the most amazing Vegan meal at Michelangelo! The Vegan Pizza was amazing, and the Vegan penny pasta was amazing! I must mention Angelica she was so helpful, kind, and Vegan!

Had a few restaurant pizzas in my time , the one I had this time , verdere, was amongst the best, tasty, juicy well baked base.with just the right amount of topping, will defienkty goo here next time I am in Ryde Staff friendly and accomodating

An excellent Italian restaurant in an ideal location, run for 24 years by a very courteous Italian woman, with whom we had a very nice conversation about the history of the restaurant. The pizzas are delicious, the dessert menu is tempting and the wine list is well stocked with Italian wines. We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back!

Delicious, authentic Italian food that never disappoints. We had 3 courses here and every single one was fantastic. Very generous portions that left us stuffed. The pizza here is very good buy the pasta is always a highlight. Good price point for the quality and quantity of food you get.

The food here is amazing fresh well cooked the staff are like family this is by far my favourite restaurant .my wife is vegan and well catered for if you like rice pudding this is by far my favourite dessert. This is a must .

We have visited this restaurant for coffee and brunch many times during our stay on the Isle of Wight and have never been disappointed. During our latest trip we decided to try an evening meal and it was amazing. Good food freshly prepared by the chef, delightful friendly staff who want to be working and an amazing atmosphere. We enjoyed the food so much we visited twice more before our return to the mainland. Prices were great and really authentic Italian food, Ryde is lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant. We will return when we return to the Isle of Wight.

Fabulous place, great staff, lovely view, good food.

Wow , were do I start, the staff were amazing finding a table for us, they were very busy, only waited about 20 minutes but , oh Yes best pizza I have ever had , my Wife's food was superb as well, Thank you for an amazing experience, I am sure we will be back soon, I have never been so happy about finding such a GREAT place to eat.

Nice vibe, nice food, nice staffs. I love tortellini with ham, it serves with half of ciabatta. There is olive oil on the table, butter is asked and served. A good place to have relaxing dining.

Sadly they had messed up our booking and despite calling in to the restaurant, had booked us in for the wrong week! We were a group of 7 & they could not accommodate us & we were turned away. Appalling service. We were left high and dry!

Constantly delicious food, wonderful staff and a lovely atmosphere make Michelangelo restaurant our favourite on the island. Every dish is cooked with love and passion and it shines through. Even the bread is freshly baked & the coffee is great too. There are sea views to enjoy and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. If you need a gift there is a great variety of Italian pasta, chocolates and sauces to choose from. There are always special dishes to compliment the lunch and dinner menus.

The food is amazing and the staff are amazing like coming home to eat you must try the rice pudding.

Never fails to impress, it was very busy for a Tuesday evening. Always great food and friendly service, garlic bread delicious and proper authentic Italian pasta and the afrogatto was gorgeous. We will definitely be back next holiday.

Disgusting service. Visiting Isle of Wight with 5 month old baby Was given a booking at 21:15as restaurant had no availability before that Staff aware on booking that we were 2 adults and a 5 month old baby Got to restaurant at 21:25 , waitress aware we had a booking,choose our table- was given 2 choices of where to be seated. Restaurant was 3/4 empty.At 21:30 get told kitchen shut and that it was our fault as 15 minutes late by a different waitress. That the kitchen surfaces were now cleaned etc So we were out in the cold at 21:32 with a baby We never got a phone call from the restaurant to check if were nit coming etc.They apparently assumed we were not coming despite us booking over the phone & not being able to give us an earlier dlot Never been to other establishment who treat their clients in this manner.

It’s a shame how poor the service is! We visited with our 5 months old baby today. When called to book table we were given table for 9:15pm. Wasn’t mentioned this would be last booking! After parking when we arrived the restaurant at 9:30pm. We were directed to a table. When we were about to sit, another lady came and told us that they can’t serve as we were 15 mins late!! Left us to roam around in cold with the little baby to find a dinner place! What a shame!!!

We had a dinner with my beautiful wife in that restaurant, we both highly recommend the place it has everything what you need for a good cozy dinner and proper Italian restaurant. The food was incredible and fabulous. The staff was the most knowledgeable, supportive and made us feel like i’m at home. Great atmosphere and again the food worth every single penny. The last but not least the Chefs were wonderful i had the best Original Carbonara. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Best pasta we have ever had! Amazing family run restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff. We went for lunch on the 18th of April and the food was so good we returned for lunch the day after! Nothing was too much trouble and was very reasonably priced!!!! We will be returning ASAP!!!

Great place. We went here for lunch right after we landed at Ryde via Hoovertravel. Staff is kind and asks you all your requirements and tries to accommodate any special request. They suggested us veg dishes which we wanted and also allowed customisation like extra chilli in pasta. Service quality was excellent - food was served quickly. Presentation was good.

Really friendly Italian restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and food. They even put a candle on my dessert which was an amazing surprise. Only reason it’s not five stars is due to the wait for food. In their defence they were under staffed the evening we went and they did apologise for it.

What a lovely restaurant, it came recommended by our hotel and it really hit the spot. The food was delicious and the staff friendly knowledgeable and welcoming. Try it you won’t regret it.

We are 4 friends currently visiting the island and 3 of us visited for the first time. The food was the best Italian food we had all ever tasted, so fresh and something I personally will remember for a very long time. Seafood risotto is not on the menu but they kindly made this for me and boy was it good. The pear tiramisu was to die for. I really hope to visit the Isle of Wight again someday and I'll certainly recommend this wonderful restaurant to all of my friends. The staff were so friendly and had time to have a chat with us. Thank you for ending our mini break with such a great memory

Absolutely wonderful meal, the service was superb. We were in there for over 2 hours, but it didn't feel like it!

It was the first time we have eaten here and it definitely won't be the last. The food was beautiful, well presented and tasted amazing. The restaurant itself is very warm and welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere and the view across the Solent was an added bonus. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly but not intrusive. I highly recommend a visit and look forward to our next trip over to try another wonderful dish.

TAKEAWAY We had a great takeaway from Michelangelos. The service was timely and the meal was delicious. We used to dine in a lot, but as we have a dog now we cannot dine inside during our time on the island. Thanks again

Like many other reviews, restaurant looks great from the outside, has locals recommending it - yet, arrived with 2 children, approached by waitress who looked us up and down, and said they had no tables available, yet 3/4 of the restaurant was empty! Looks like your establishment has issues with staff attitude & children, maybe turn your restaurant into adult only to save offending customers. We tried another local restaurant who were amazing and also said they had heard the same from dozens of other customers. Carry on like this, you’ll be yet another empty premises on the Island.

Lovely restaurant on the Esplanade just opposite the railway station and hoverport. It was clean, smart and in good condition yet rustic. The staff were attentive friendly and enthusiastic about the menu choices. I had the bruschetta, chicken and affogato - all excellent.

The food and services was amazing the staff are so knowledgeable and the owners are so friendly making sure everything is perfect.

Very good food, arguably the best restaurant in ryde. Good authentic Italian 🇮🇹 been many times never disappointed. If your eating on a Friday or sat night book first or may be disappointed.

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while as it’s now a couple of months since we went… but, this was the first time I’ve been in a while to Michaelangelo’s. We hadn’t booked but we were welcomed most warmly and with open arms and shown to a lovely table with lots of space. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and spoke about the menu and the dishes on offer with Italian eloquence and the service given was exemplary. The food itself was superb, the wines were excellent and the overall value was really good. I cannot recommend this lovely place highly enough, it’s fantastic.

This was the second time I've eaten here on visiting Ryde. It's such a friendly and welcoming place and the food is excellent. If you are visiting the Isle of Wight or grabbing a bite before your trip back to the mainland (like me) then you can't go wrong here. The food is clearly prepared and cooked fresh and the pizzas are really good, thin crisp base and full of flavour. Prices are also reasonable with lovely salad bowls and specials on that won't break the bank. I didn't get to have a desert this time as I was pressed for time but they're also great. Give it a try !!

This is my favourite Italian restaurant located on the Isle of Wight. Friendly, professional, good service and excellent delicious food. To dine there is like being with family.

The whole experience here was amazing. Gemma our server was great and made us feel welcomed. This was our first time visiting as a group of 4 and happily spent two and a half hours here enjoying starter, main, dessert and coffee. The atmosphere was very calming. I would like to say gain that our server Gemma was amazing and made the experience even better.

Fantastic, friendly service. Amazing pizzas - lovely, thin and crispy bases - how they should be. An interesting wine list .... one so delicious (Salento Susumaniello) we bought an extra bottle to take home! A taste of the real Italy ... not a chain. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Lovely food in a relaxed environment. Went for lunch on a Monday and had to wait for a third person joining us. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Food from breakfast menu was absolutely delicious. I had the borlotti beans with rosemary, bacon and egg. Staff were happy to check whether dishes had butter, milk or cheese in them as I had to avoid milk. I would say there are limited choices regarding milk avoidance as most things have cheese in them but the dish I had was lovely as was the dairy and gluten free blackcurrant crumble. We had to dismantle the pram to come in so I would say be prepared to do this if you are travelling with a baby or small child. There is a sign in the window but it was not easy to spot when we arrived. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of a baby but there's limited space in the restaurant. Another slight snag is they don't have a changing mat but there's room to change a baby on your own mat in the bathroom on the floor. It would be great if the restaurant could provide a changing mat in the future as changing on the floor could be uncomfortable or difficult for others.

Great location and very welcoming staff - food was very good quality with a wide range of options. We had a very enjoyable meal here - gets busy at night so I think it would be wise to book.

We popped in for breakfast on a whim and I’m so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious. So full of flavours and freshness. The coffee as perfect and the chocolate soup to die for! The service 5 stars too. Definitely will be retuning for more!

What a lovely restaurant - we went there for lunch one day and then dinner the other day, enjoyed the food, ambience and service ! Such amazing , calm staff, always smiling and ready with suggestions. Me and my partner had pasta, pizza, bruschetta, cake and icecream ( both days included) and everything was delicious 🤤. Highly recommended - would love to visit again!

I tried the place just for coffee and cake snd the staff on both occasion were hostile and had a very strange attituse towards me . Maybe they didn't like my clothes ! Felt very uncomfortable and prefer to take my custom somewhere more welcoming thank you .

Second time for dinner with other tastings of Italian dishes, delicious

Service - There was a large group of 8 booked in to eat for a birthday party, the service was very slow, this was to place our drinks orders and food orders. We went up to the counter and asked for water for the table and asked to place our drinks order, it took another 10 minutes to get the waitress to come to us, the restaurant was not busy, and they were turning away people saying they were full, not in the 2-3 hours we were there did we see it full! Food - The food I would say was average, I had a pizza and it had a base that was mostly like a cracker, other people had pasta or meat dishes, the portion sizes were very small for the price. We did have a few desserts within the party, and all really enjoyed them, the ladies fingers were gorgeous, the coffees were nice and punchy.

We came here for our anniversary, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and we were never waiting long. We had three courses and the price was very reasonable. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, even more so as the evening went on and the restaurant was lit with gentle low lights. We would definitely return ❤️

Don’t bother trying this place on the off chance, we tried to drop in on a Saturday evening at 5pm for a quick bite to eat, at that time there was only one table being served but we were turned away as they were fully booked ??. Walked round and had a bite to eat and passed by an hour later to see the restaurant had still just one table occupied. Must have been really really important people to book the whole restaurant up. Seriously if you can’t handle more than one table on a Saturday night it might be best to get a change of staff, food might be amazing but not sure how they can turn trade away when it’s pretty much empty

Could not be better! Lovely place, found it by chance and so glad we did. Makes such a change to be in a restaurant who have genuine service and wonderful food unlike many chains! Thank you and we will without doubt come back.

Lovely little Italian restaurant in Ryde, situated at the bottom of the hill not far from the pier it was a welcome stop. We had a lovely meal, portions just about right, served by friendly accommodating staff. Would go again. Recommended.
