Fumo33 in Isle of Wight

Food was superb, cocktails were delicious and the service was amazing!!!

Came here for our staff do, we all had a great evening! Nothing was too much trouble, the food was amazing, and a huge thank you to Josh for being so attentive, helpful and funny! The cocktails were great and we will be back, ive not been for a while but this was the best it has been 5*

A real 'curates egg' this one, some bits were good, others frankly awful, so the stars end up in the middle! We had reserved for four people and arrived at the time we had booked. The 'greeter' could scarcely have been less welcoming. It was clear that we were the greatest inconvenience to her and we were treated to a scowl and told 'wait here', while she went off to organise somewhere for us to sit. The restaurant was not busy so why booked customers were made to wait in this way is not clear. We each ordered a main from the menu. I had a burger, another pasta and two of our party ordered Pizza, which is something of a speciality of the house. When our meals were served only three were delivered. One of the Pizzas did not arrive. The server apologised and came up with a surprising comment that they had had a lot of orders for Pizza and couldn't get them all into the oven. To put it mildly it is an unusual Restaurant that can't co-ordinate two pizzas ordered at the same time to be delivered together. He said the missing Pizza would be with us in about four minutes. It was around 15 minutes later that the missing Pizza arrived. It was, not to put too fine a point on it, burnt. Perhaps they meant to serve it in the stated four minutes, then forgot about it again. The recipient decided to eat what he could to save sending it back again. By this time the rest of us had finished. On the plus side, much of the rest of the meals was fine. The other Pizza and the Pasta were good and the Burger OK. I would have preferred the meat a little less finely minced, but that is me. There was however one further item that I need to mention. The Burger came accompanied, it was stated, by coleslaw. The coleslaw was one of the most extraordinary things I have ever tried. It was entirely tasteless. No dressing or seasoning appeared to have gone anywhere near it. It seemed to have been made by someone who had never eaten or seen coleslaw. or indeed ever prepared food. They had however been given the clue that it contained raw cabbage. There was some liquid involved, but I have no idea what this was, possibly water. So there we are. Will I be going back soon? Probably not.

I had steak tagliatelle. It was lovely but abit to peppery for me.. the cheese garlic bread was amazing. Lots of cheese and lovely bread. The olives were delicious aswell and they put walnuts in which I have never had like that before and it was lovely. My husband had steak and chips, he thoroughly enjoyed it but did say it was quite peppery also. Would still go back just make sure we both say less pepper! Staff were very nice and the place was very cozy.

Amazing restaurant, after being really disappointed with a restaurant opposite that had food so bad I had to walk out. I spotted Fumo, the food was really good, had pulled pork croquettes followed by steak skewers, food was really well cooked, staff were friendly and alert to their customers needs. Restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. I will be back here again.

We visited Fumo with friends for a meal in August 2024. The restaurant is decorated in a fairly modern style, very comfortable and plenty of space. The menu has a wide variety of dishes on, you could come back on many occasions and try something new! The staff were attentive and helpful, the food was excellent - a delicious looking burger and an open calzone were two of the highlights, just disappointing that the calzone was very well cooked and as such just a bit too crunchy for my liking, apart from that the filling was amazing. The prices were fairly high but not extortionate for the amount of food received. Only disappointments for me was that we had enquired online beforehand to ask about allergies, but received no response. Also that there were no hand towels in the gents toilet which gave the impression it hadn't been checked all evening. Not sure why anyone still uses paper towels in toilets any more, dryers aren't that expensive to supply and fit. Overall it was an enjoyable evening with great food in pleasant surroundings, we would definitely return.

This place looked very inviting from the street, and offered a welcomed alternative to the bucket and spade, karaoke, heavily tattooed parade elsewhere. No fuss, just a great pizza and a beer with a great atmosphere.

Walked in at just gone 8.30pm on a Monday evening for a table of 2 when waiter went to speak to the kitchen only to come back to us to say they had “run out of food”!?! Never experienced this response from any restaurant ever particularly a pizza based restaurant in a busy-ish town, so early in the evening. Clearly wanted to shut up shop & get home early!

An excellent venue. Easy location and not far from car parks. High quality dishes. Reasonably priced. Not too crowded or rowdy.

Firstly id like to say the food is great here, however the service was terrible, immediately upon arrival we were told they needed the table back in 1.5 hours. (We hadn’t even sat down). Additionally i found the waitress to be a little bit rude. Moreover i still had a mouth full of food when they took our plates. Im all for waiting staff being proactive but at least give me a minute to chew, swallow and wipe my mouth before you remove the cutlery and plates. All in all i was a quite let down as i had been told Fumo 33 was the best restaurant in ryde. Would not come here agin unless they do take out

Having decided to go out for dinner with my friend on a week day with no prebooking, we were offered to sit at the bar and we were very happy, ordered drinks and food. Cocktails were lush, starters fantastic. Kerry looked after us all the way through, checking that we were pleased with food and drinks BUT she didn't stop there, as soon as a table became available she transferred us to a table for our mains. The mains were delicious and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. Kerry brought in that extra warmth and elevated the whole dinning experience by being professional, attentive, engaging and friendly. Great asset to the business.

I had the Calzone. My partner had a burger and chips. They came out together and quickly. Food was hot and delicious. Service excellent. Price was reasonable for a nice sit down restaurant.

Just had a family meal for 11 of us on a busy Saturday night for a birthday celebration. Food was fantastic (I had quesadilla starter and halloumi burger) and the service was particularly noteworthy and professional. The server always noticed if people needed more drinks, bought extra dips/more gravy when it was requested, she was good with the kids and was generally spot on. Great venue, great food and great staff. Recommended.

What we loved: - Very nice and experienced staff that is open to special requests - A special (seperate) menu for kids that has healthy options - Very good pizza, also veggie and more creative/less traditional options - And very reasonable prices Had a lovely time here!!!

Service was a bit slow, starters took a while to arrive, but they were good. 3/4 ordered the burgers, which looked great, however I ordered the beef tagliatelle, which is advertised as a ‘creamy’ sauce however it’s very much a bland tomato sauce. Overall it’s an okay place to eat, definitely not the best.

Honestly average food. Starter of pulled pork mozzarella croquettes were not nice texture wise. However the mushroom pizza was delicious and so was the cocktails😍. Service could of been better, with the manager showing us our seat and instead of giving us the menu he stood around waiting for someone else to be free to hand us the menu. We had about 3 different servers for each course which we found confusing and not so special. Overall mains and cocktail were delicious and desserts and starters could of been better executed. It was an average meal for our first night in ryde But if you wanted a nice cocktail I would highly recommend.

Walked in on a cycle trip, great welcome, pizzas and burgers were good! Team were a good vibe and the service was nice.

Looked at previous reviews on what the roasts are like . I’m glad we decided to make our own mind up and try . That’s why we are writing this . Absolutely lovely roast , portion size large , homemade Yorkshire’s which is always a plus in our eyes . Meat for me was perfect I love my lamb pink that just melted when eaten . Also had a couple of cheeky cocktails which was fantastic watching the gentleman make them plus they were just perfect. Staff lovely and didn’t rush you . We will definitely be back x

There was 10 ladies celebrating friends birthday. We had a mixture of meals, nice vegetarian burgers. Brilliant service, lovely food. Cannot fault anything. Great atmosphere, really lovely staff. Def be back as there so much to choose from on the menu. Thank you for a great evening.

A disappointing meal. My belly of pork was fatty with a soggy skin, the pasta was greasy and the seafood risotto was bland. The Fumo looks great but I certainly wouldn't visit again.

What a fantastic meal we have just had in Fumo33! Highly recommend this place for good food, the staff were incredibly engaging and friendly, all with a sense of humour and the ability to converse. The atmosphere was lovely, the decor has an industrial feel and is in very good taste. Compliments to the chefs as well, food was fresh, well presented and full of flavour. I had the shish chicken (definitely value for money, loads of food) and my friend had the chicken escalope with Gnocchi. Don't think twice, book your table now, we'll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone that made Fumo33 a great experience! 🥰

Great hospitality from staff and great food. The pie looked amazing.

Lovely staff but very very noisy spent the evening shouting at my friends and not hearing them well. Very very poor on food intolerances and allergies 😡 no gluten free pizza, no vegan desserts except sorbet and felt they really couldn't be bothered with people like me. And my pet hate SKIN ON CHIPS no alternative

Decided to take a small weekend break to the Isle Of Wight and struggled to find somewhere decent to eat - Stumbled across Fumo33 and my god, it was good! Burger was one of the best I had in a while, Service was lovely and its a very well presented restaurant. Prices are very reasonable too. Would rate and come again. Staff were very friendly and amazing. No issues at all!

The seasoning is great and the atmosphere is very good. However, if the seafood risotto is replaced with spaghetti, the taste will be bland. The noodles are noodles and the sauce is sauce. One food star will be deducted.

A lovely place in Ryde. Great food and friendly service. Recommended for families of teens as it is one for a nice meal out with them.

In my opinion fumo33 is probably the best place in Ryde to go for a drink or to grab something to eat. Their menu is very versatile and the food really just looks and tastes amazing. The drinks are really good as well. The staff is very kind and always very polite. I can only recommend you to swing by at fumo33 if you find yourself in Ryde looking for a good place to eat and/or drink something.

Been coming here for years with my husband every other weekend but after my trip this week and over hearing a staff member taking about selling a dru*gs while they was on a fag break means I will never ever come back again.

The family went to fumo for dinner. The food was excellent. Lovely atmosphere but above all the service from charlie was amazing.

Highly recommend! Such a nice place, atmosphere buzzing but not so noisy you can’t talk to each other and the staff were so friendly and helpful they couldn’t do enough. Food was brilliant, would definitely return if we are in the area again.

We spotted this restaurant whilst wandering around Ryde, most places seemed quiet but not here the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We didn’t book but the waitress managed to get us a table (last one left), we ordered the calzone and pork belly both huge portions and delicious. The staff were super friendly and offered their recommendations, our waitress really stood out for being great I think her name was Charlie. Thanks so much for a lovely evening after a long day working in the hospital, work trip visiting from South Wales!

Went here our first night in Ryde - what a find. Staff were extremely friendly and found us a table even though we hadn’t booked. The Long Island Iced Tea was great. I chose the chicken swami kebab and hubby had a burger - both absolutely delicious. We then chose the hot chocolate brownie with ice cream and black cherries - again delicious.

Good food but most importantly great staff. Could not have been better. Friendly and humorous waitresses. They work bloody hard.

Food was very nice. Service good. Only complaint is when your part of a group and you get one bill you have to do alot of working out whose had what. Much easier if everyone can pay their own.

I had my wedding reception here. The staff were amazing in particular the manager Peter who helped with the planning. The food was fantastic and prices exceptionally reasonable too. They helped make the wedding a perfect day. Thank you

This is a lovely restaurant. Food outstanding and service brilliant. Very attentive staff. (So much so that when my Husband started to get a migraine there, he was offered painkillers!). Will definitely return when we're next on the island. Would recommend the crispy chicken escalope, it was delicious, as were the pizzas.

We randomly came across this restaurant whilst wandering around Ryde looking for somewhere to eat. We liked the contemporary styling and the place had a great atmosphere. We had no issues getting a table but the restaurant was full by 7pm. We really enjoyed our food: wood fired pizza for the kids and we had the beef and chicken shish: all freshly made and full of flavour. Overall a great experience.

Great meal, lovely atmosphere and music, staff excellent, especially Charlie. Best lasagne I’ve had. Thoroughly recommend it if you are in Ryde.

The staff are lovely, the food is ok (the pizza is great but the burger and desserts aren't much to write home about). Friday night is not the best night for a family visit as it's clearly a launchpad for a night out or a hen party. Nice tunes though

Great food and great service. Myself and a friend visited on a quite busy Thursday evening, we were seated promptly and ordered drinks which arrived in a couple of minutes. The menu read very well although it did not match the on-line menu. We both had starters which arrived in around 10 minutes and our waitress, Charlie, attended to all of our needs, she was lovely. Mains soon followed the starters and the whole evening was amazing.

Came here for date night after being away for work for a while. Food was great. I had Steak Tagliatelle and the missus had sea food linguine. Served quickly and wen t down just as fast. The waitress / server was Charlie, she was excellent, personable, friendly and she remembered to bring the spoons! Would hire her in a heartbeat for anything hospitality. The tip was 100% deserved

Really friendly and accommodating staff. There was 5 of us, 2 with food intolerances and they were able to tweak dishes to suit and I have to say, the food was incredible. I had the risotto, which they made dairy free. I was the best risotto I've ever had. Great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

A lovely place to eat. I had BBQ chicken pizza. It was delicious. Dessert was a chocolate brownie which was unfortunately very disappointing, as it was so dry. The cocktails are very nice too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The style and atmosphere of the restaurant is great too. Would definitely come back again.

We were a party of 4, and between us ordered 3 different dishes. Chicken Escalope, Tagliatelle with steak strips and chicken shish. All were excellent. Wine was a good sauvignon blanc and the Morettis beer was nice and cold. Service was great by friendly staff and the overall bill was great value

Visited this place again, and was not disappointed, the food was better than anticipated, only nag was the bar area was a little noisy. A must try is the spaghetti with a twist, king prawns, squid and mussels, in a coconut sauce. mmm.

Chicken shish and fries with coleslaw just perfect

Only had cocktails, not food. The specials were excellent (and lethal), the menu drinks were excellent. The waitress/bar lady was an absolute artist and very attentive with service.

When I went here people were less focused on the food and more focused on the amazing piles of salt you left on their table. They were breathing it in and everything! Amazing salt, would recommend. I also saw my enemy's doppelganger here and it gave me such anxiety I had to get therapy. I will sue.

Lovely dinner experience with great food and atmosphere. Went on a Tuesday evening where it wasn’t too busy. Food and drinks tasted lovely and wait time wasn’t too long. The goats cheese pizza was delicious, the dough not too dry or crispy and the beetroot tasted great with it. For dessert the tiramisu pavlova was nice, very sweet which was to be expected, but didn’t taste much like tiramisu or coffee though enjoyable anyway. Staff were very friendly and the music and decorations were a lovely accompaniment to sit and enjoy the meal.

Staff excellent,let down by the food,had a spicey arriabata penne very bland,my wife had chicken katsu risotto unfortunately it was long grain rice rather than risotto rice. So quite disappointed.

Been several times and had lovely meals. But I had roast lamb, not much meat on the plate but actually that wasn’t a bad thing as The meat was cut so thin, it was dry and extremely chewing. It reminded me of meat from frozen...

Very poor food, steak tagliatelle, had 3 small pieces of meat, chicken thigh burger had small bits of bone mixed in, staff were helpful and pleasant.

I would say this is a must visit restraint if you are in Ryde. Travelled from Portsmouth to Isle of Wight via Hovercraft on a whim for dinner. Found this little gem on the High Street, 4 people dining, 4 different meals and all amazing....

The food was lovely. the beef was so tender that it fell apart in your mouth. The place was busy and vibrant. Although the staffing was a little slow, it would not put me off returning.
