Blue Sardinia in Guildford

A bit difficult to find but if you want to enjoy Italian cuisine you should go here. Prices are okay for the region. Menu with wine accompaniment is recommended.

It was valentine dinner and I had Aubergine as a starter. It was really tasty and mouth-watering food. Later as a main course I had beef also that was delicious. There were various kinds of valentine menus and dessert but I tried Lemon tart and that was amazing. I never ate as much as tasty Lemo tart before. The restaurant has also vegan menu. The decoration for valentine was outstanding. Friendly service.

Honestly really dissatisfied . Due to the reviews, we thought this would be a great place to eat - until we were sorely disappointed. The cannelloni was watery, flat and not cooked well. The spaghetti with mussels was also incredibly salty. So much that I had to send the food back. They did consider my allergy to scallops, however did not replace the scallops in the dish with anything else. Atmosphere was quiet and serious - despite a bustling town. Staff nice enough but very serious. Overall not worth it. Olivo was great in comparison, despite the price being cut in half!

Our first visit. Really good food. Went for calamari starter and lemon sole main. Cheese board to finish...all well prepared and excellent flavour. My wife had two vegetarian options which she also said were excellent. Service very good. Will definitely be going back.

I booked blue Sardinia for my mothers birthday and the whole experience was disappointing. We were sat downstairs where it was freezing and the staff kept walking past for about 10 minutes before we were attended to. The starters were okay, but nothing spectacular. The ravioli looked bland and freshly microwaved. The mains were horrendous. All of the meals were cold, the fish stretch was pungent and rather off putting, the pasta and risotto were both undercooked and the chicken dinner was bland. We complained and two meals were taken off but were still left with a £120 bill … should’ve gone elsewhere as the evening soured my mothers birthday. If you are thinking of booking blue Sardinia, there are plenty of other lovely Italian restaurants for much better quality.

Extremely good food, quick and friendly service, approachable and delicious wine list. This place really captures the unique aspects of Sardinian food. The black linguine was delicious and, the cacio e pepe (not truly Sardinian but whatever) was really great.

The restaurant is nicely-decorated and the staff are friendly. We’ve been to a few Italian restaurants, but to be honest, this is probably the worst one we’ve ever been in terms of the main dish quality. The breaded king prawn as a starter is good, I would rate 4 out of 5. For main, My husband ordered a steak fillet, which is 25 pounds, but the meat quality is poor. As can been seen in the picture, there is a lot of fat and he cannot bite through. For the expensive steak, my husband would give 1.5 out of 5. The steak also comes with the fries, but they don’t have ketchup, which I don’t think it acceptable. We feel a bit surprised that a restaurant that cannot provide ketchup while they serve chips. I ordered seam bream which is covered by cheese. Compared with the sea bass I had in other Italian restaurants, I would give 2.5 out of 5. In the end, we ordered the lemon tart, it’s very delicious but really small piece. Overall, I would give today’s food 2.5 out of 5 in terms of the price and quality. The quality for Their main dishes does need improving Urgently.

Went for a business lunch on a Friday. Really excellent. Had the grilled vegetable terrine followed by the gnochetti - a stunning pasta dish. Wines very too. Highly recommended!

Great spot for dinner - spent the night in Guildford away from home and this was a proper treat. Went for the taster menu with the accompanying flight of wine. The staff were really attentive and made the evening great. Was very nice to have such a mix of Italian wines to pair with the dishes. Portion sizes weee generous and we left extremely happy!

Sand in spinach. When told the waiter she responded it’s like that :-). Food was bland, no salt and pepper. Chef need to fast food before it comes out.

Only my second time at this restaurant yet the staff recognised me immediately and made both my guest and I very welcome. Excellent friendly service. Food very enjoyable. Will be back soon to enjoy Italian hospitality

This was a wonderful 1st time experience. Almost reminiscent of Cambio & Bar Centro that used to be in Guildford - however not surprising when we found out that Cinsessa (hopefully, I've spelt that correctly), worked for the boys for 7 yrs. Please try this venue. Embrace the authentic Italian; food, wine (their recommendations didn't stear us wrong!) & try your verbal skills, it can go long way for a far more enjoyable time! We will be going back & very soon! Grazie mille per un pasto e un'atmosfera meravigliosi!

Just not a friendly place, food was average, I got the feeling they are trying to be something more than an Italian restaurant, now I wasn't after pizza but the limited menu was not for me

The best food I've eaten out in a few years. I ate off the vegan menu too, which was insane. When food is this good you don't need animal products! And we also had really lovely, charming waitresses who engaged with our ridiculous sense of humour! Thanks!

Being local to this restaurant I have on here posted previously on how this is one of my big favourites in the Guildford dining scene.Post relaxation of Covid this is the first visit we made;this was for lunch and my partner and I agreed that we had a very lovely experience and also very good value.As a starter the mussels were finished but we were offered Calamares from the main menu at no extra charge and this was perfection from the chef.My Rissotto as a main on the lunch menu was so tasty and authentic.To cap it all I asked for my peppermint tea to be laced with fresh mint and this was done at no extra charge-this is service! As a postscript many of our other restaurants have hiked their prices after Covid but this one seems to have not done this-Thanks.

We two sat slightly apprehensive on a Monday night. We needn't have worried. The room rapidly filled up around us and I failed to notice as I was too engrossed by the wine list. If there is a better Italian selection in the country, I haven't seen it and so well priced for mature vibtages from benchmark producers. God I wished I lived closer to here. Service also faultless.

It's all good. What can I say? The food quality is amazing, the treatment is great. Atmosphere is alright, I don't like to have much people around so we had dinner upstairs in a more tranquil area. Old fashion way for reservations, you enquire then they call you to confirm the place. Price? Acceptable. This is about food only, is not about an exclusive luxurious pompous place like The Ivy, is about, the right balance (great food, amicable atmosphere, modern rustic decó). I fully recommend and we'll repeat indeed! 👍

I eat in this great spot from time to time! This is the best place to dine. I go to this spot at least once a month. The meals are excellent, the workers are welcoming and the payment is decent. I enjoy meeting in this restaurant to have a nice meal.

Went there before a show at the theatre and the food was very good as were the staff. Would definitley go back there for another meal before the shows. Me and my freinds can't wait.

Traditional Italian restaurant,quite formal. I ate linguine vongole,my favourite. All 6 of us had excellent Italian food.I can't help thinking that the reason why Italian restaurants such as Jamie's Italian, Prezzo and Carluccios are not doing well is that they do not do spaghetti/linguine vongole, Italy's classic dish with clams.There is another family-run restaurant in Guildford,in a lane off the High Street.that does vongole,cannot recall its name.The restaurant scene in Guildford is pretty dire.It needs a Spaghetti House (does vongole !)

The meals and service were beyond our expectations. We really enjoyed the environment of this restaurant. Superb place to take my family out for dinner.

Really enjoyed our meal and the truly Sardinian owner and staff made it all the nicer. Slightly modern decor for me, I prefer the old-fashioned cosy places but others loved it. We will go back.

This place never fails to impress. They serve good dishes for convenient prices, there are no long waits even when they are loaded.

I went with a group of colleagues and was looking forward to going as a couple of friends had recommended the restaurant. However I did not particularly enjoy any of my 3 courses and found the lady who I imagine was the manager to be rather patronising and abrupt; especially after I accidentally knocked over and smashed my glass of wine. I don't envisage returning anytime soon.

Food ok but not enough staff, they were flustered and rude

*Edit* - I returned to this place since as I loved their food from my first visit, but this time the quality lacked a bit. I order their special Veal chop, costs £25. What you get is just a thin chop served on a large plate, with a separate bowl of rocket, parmesan and vinegar. Just not what I expect considering the money, unfortunately I left feeling disappointed and probably won't be in any rush to return. Absolutely amazing restaurant! What a wonderful discorvery, fantastic food, wonderful staff and a really pleasant atmosphere. Thank you Blue Sardinia, you found yourself a keeper! Never had such a lovely food journey, please go to this place!

Excellent food, had the 3 course lunch menu for c. £15, superb value. The ricotta crostini was great, as was the tagliatelle and nice cheesecake to finish. Also bought an Ichnusa beer which was good

This is a well run and interesting Italian restaurant just out of the main drag that makes it well worth a visit. Good ambiance and attentive staff that seem very authentic.Enjoyed a fine lunch with a number of business / friends. Red Mullet was especially good.

The food was exceptional and the service attentive and personal but unobtrusive at the same time. I would recommend asking for wine pairings for your food it makes a massive difference. I can't wait to go back as the dishes at the other tables looked as tasty as ours.

We visited their restaurant in a group of six having reserved the table in the window. It was ready and waiting for us and was comfortable with plenty of room. The menu was varied, extensive and reasonably priced. The food took a while to come but it was busy. It was worth the wait however as it was delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Had the calamari here as a starter, which came as quite a large portion and I did not expect that as it was priced at £6.50. It was a tad bland to me and I would have preferred a little more seasoning to the batter. I had the Bucatini Amatriciana which is good, but felt a little too heavy on the tomato. I absolutely love the fresh pasta they use from Pasta Out but I think I would go back to Pasta Out as I prefer the pasta dishes they offer there. Came on a Friday night with friends and the small restaurant quickly got very busy afterwards. Service was lovely.

This is a lovely little restaurant serving Sardinian Styled Italian food. Nice atmosphere and good range to the Menu. The Smoked Halibut Carpaccio was delicious and the Lobster Pasta was plentiful and tasty. My grandson had a Steak in Pepper Sauce with the best chips I have tasted in ages. Easy parking across the road, well worth a visit, middle range prices.

Wow! If you really want the Italian experience come here. High-quality cooking, fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere.

I had heard great feedback from friends who had visited this restaurant and I had been wanting to visit for some time. Unfortunately we didn't get off to a good start as our table, which had been booked for over a week, was not available when we arrived. There is no comfortable bar area to sit and wait and we had already been somewhere for a drink beforehand but we made the best of it and had a bottle of wine in the entrance area. It was nearly 30 minutes before we sat down and able to order which wasn't ideal. Overall the food was enjoyable but we weren't blown away. The manager did offer us a free coffee but we didn't want it and instead she brought us each a glass of dessert wine which was a nice touch but not something any of us would have ordered or wanted. It really meant we bought an additional bottle of wine because of the wait so maybe this should have been offered as a gesture instead. I won't say that I would never return but it wasn't the experience I had been hoping for so I won't be rushing back.

We were greeted by the very friendly waiters. Unfortunately i ordered a spicy chicken dish with saute potatoes, the first dish brought out was under cooked, not great when serving chicken. Very quickly they produced the same replacement dish, although this time the chicken was cooked, it was small and lacked any flavour, the saute potatoes resembled potato wedges of which there were 5 of them in total, 2 little lettuce leaves and 3 small tomatoes, i do not feel this was value for money and was very disappointed. My partner had a chicken pasta dish, he was equally disappointed with the portion size, he thought it was a starter! When you pay good money for food you expect a certain standard. Overall not value for money.

A really nice place to eat - the staff make it this way, and the interior is lovely, but hard to get a good atmosphere here, not sure why. It's always very busy and deserves to be. I've occaisionlly had some dishes over cooked eg. veal escalope feels like its been thrown in a deep fat fryer and turned to cardboard. Needs to be pink and juicy. Their lobster pasta however is the opposite, really very good.

I returned to blue sardinia after about six months. I have recommended this delicious restaurant to my parents in-laws, to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The place was full, but the food was fantastic and the attention of the staff was attentive but not pressing. I took the beef straccetti for starters and the Milanese veal for main. All fantastic. My parents in-laws were very happy with their choice of restaurant.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. There is good Italian food and there is superb Italian food - this is superb, unique, different, beautifully put together, amazing flavour combinations, and a real treat. The restaurant is ver pleasant, despite not having the best views (Sydenham Rd car park), but the service, the relaxed atmosphere, not being crammed in,and the comfort, all help make this a special experience. Very impressed - we will be back, not regularly, but for special occasions - such as this, it was our 35 Wedding Anniversary. Crab and salmon fish cakes, halibut carpaccio, tuna steak salad and olive mash, calfs liver, myrto and frangelico liqueurs all sublime!

Wow what a surprise. My wife had spotted the restaurant a while ago but like another reviewer I was a bit reticent as prior restaurants in this location weren’t great which is ridiculous !

I have to admit, I had been putting off coming here as all the predecessors in this unit were terrible. I wish I hadn't now, what an exceptional meal. The decor is perhaps a little basic, and there weren't any tablecloths, which would have been nice. However, this was more than made up for by the food. I had the Calamari to start, and I would put it up there with some of the best I have had (and I've had a lot), the Veal Milanese and fries as a side was also exquisite. To end I asked for an Affogato (which wasn't on the menu from what I could see), and again, it was creamy and flavourful.

It was a very busy evening on a Saturday evening and all the tables were booked. We as were seated by the kitchen area on the first floor and although there was some noise eminating from the dishwashing and clanking of cutlery, we enjoyed some delicious authentic italian dishes. We would recommend this restaurant to celebrate any type of event and as being one of the best italian restaurants we have eaten in Surrey.

It was fairly pricey and my pork was a bit tough. I've had better Italian food.

Had a sublime lunch here today. The softest, creamiest buratta with thinly sliced speck (a kind of smoked prosciutto) followed by perfect lobster ravioli in the most delicious rich, smooth sauce. My wife had smoked halibut carpaccio with blood orange sorbet - also delicious.

Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and beautiful food. What more could you want? We’ll see you next time!

We just love this restaurant! It has served our family well for years now, be it a family celebration or a relaxing lunch with my daughter. For lunch or for dinner, the food is excellent, the service outstanding and to top it all off, it is great value for money.Can't recommend it enough.
