Annare in Guildford

I live in San Francisco and tasted their pistachio chocolate brownies when my aunt who lives near Annare visited. I've asked her to bring these brownies every time she comes to the US. They are that good! I would love to visit the cafe and have a cappuccino with my dessert some day!

Best ever apple cake I ever tasted. Mango apple cake gluten-free and fantastic. Also we tried the Raspberry apple cake and it was as good. The best apple cakes we ever had.

I am just in need of more space and a few hundred thousand spending to upgrade and extend the facilties.

Annare is always my go to, whatever the occasion. I love to come here to study or read my books, have a catch up with friends and family or just for a quick bite to eat. It’s a hidden gem that all of Horsley stands by. It’s well worth the visit, even if it’s just to grab and go because their food is superb whether eaten in house or elsewhere!

One of the many reasons we love returning to East Horsley is Annaré. We have been eating here for a couple of years now and the food never disappoints. And we mean never! I love the mushrooms and scrambled eggs while my husband can easily write a poem about the Marco Pollo pannini (and he's never written a poem for me!). We also loved the lasagna. And now to the cakes! Oh, the cakes! Always fresh, homemade and handmade by Rita, the owner, they are like nothing we've ever tasted. I love the mango banana bread, torta della nona, famous carrot cake, muffins, and we've just discovered the ricotta and fig homemade ice cream. Annaré is different than any other cafe in the area because of the human touch, fresh ingredients, and the owner's superb culinary skills. The atmosphere is lively and they have a nice outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal in the company of your doggies. Amazing place! We'll keep returning every time we're visiting East Horsley.

Lovely spot for breakfast or lunch. We had perfect coffee, with superb home baked Bakewell tart followed be delicious toasted ciabattas.

Great family run Italian cafe deli. Popped in for coffee and cake, ended up having lunch, a flavoursome Marco pollo ciabatta. Hot food was also available parmigiana, vegetarian and meat options. Seriously good gelato made on premises is recommended. Lovely helpful staff. Comfortable interior with friendly atmosphere.

Quality brunch place - good range of ciabattas and breakfast rolls. In the words of my grandma - “they do the best muffins I’ve had in my life.” And they fill those ciabattas up to the brink - big portion!! Excellent coffee. All round great place to stop off.

Annaré, the quirky little café with a cute and quaint atmosphere, finally tempted me to try their breakfast menu after numerous delightful coffee experiences. And oh boy, it didn't disappoint! I started my day with a white Americano that jolted me awake, ready to tackle the world, or at least the menu. Speaking of which, there were plenty of mouthwatering options to choose from. I opted for the full English breakfast, and boy, that bacon was a star! Not too fatty, with a generous serving of meat that made my taste buds dance. The lovely staff asked me about sauces - how refreshing! No need to play sauce charades, they read my mind (almost). However, the eggs were slightly overdone, but hey, nobody's perfect, right? One little request, Annaré, how about adding a vegetarian full English option with some tantalizing halloumi? I would jump on that in a heartbeat! All in all, the ambience was perfect for a peaceful breakfast, and the honest and lovely employees made me feel right at home. I'll definitely return to Annaré to explore more of their delightful menu and sip on their enchanting coffee concoctions. Keep up the good work, you culinary wizards! 🍳☕️😄

Excellent food,well staffed, friendly,nice ambience. Mostly smallish tables for 2-3 one bigger by window. Well worth going to. Does picnic hampers, too.

We ate lunch at Annare today, and it was an absolutely lovely experience, start to finish. The food is prepared with such care and attention to detail, and the staff is courteous, kind, accommodating, and friendly. The interior is cozy and welcoming. Our lunches were so delicious! No one left a scrap of food on their plate. And of course, we had to try the desserts, they looked so scrumptious. They tasted even better than they looked! I highly recommend the carrot cake. We are visiting from out of town, but if I lived here, I'd be eating at Annare often.

Annaré - best ever blueberry muffin. I’ve been eating blueberry muffins for all my adult life (I’m 71). The one I had at Annaré on Saturday 20th August 2022 was the best ever! So good we bought two to take away. The young couple at the next table recommended the carrot cake so we added that, plus two Tiramisu. A day later and all gone. Yes, greedy, but one rarely come across baking this good. If you’re travelling on the A3 it’s a ten-minute detour well worth making. The proprietress does the baking and if I were a food buyer for Gail’s, Waitrose, Whole Foods, or M&S I’d be fighting for the rights to her recipes… All topped off with friendly service and good ambience with tables outside too.

The blonde gentleman that served me was efficient and gave really nice service. However, the lady barking orders through the hatch was demanding and seemingly bought team morale down as a whole, from first judgment I would have come again but was put off by the treatment of the staff. I got the the chicken ciao pesto and it was delicious but I also got the banana bread to finish and it didn’t meet my expectations. Luckily the latte I received was top notch. Overall, my experience was up and down but I’d have to say it was a negative experience due to the front of house staff being pulled back by those above them..

Great food and drink, really nice Italian style setup, service was a bit slow, but full credit to the manager, who put up a sign to say staff training. I would definitely recommend going here.

Lovely little Deli and good coffee to go

Went here yesterday with some friends for a quick coffee. The service was painfully slow. Took 15 minutes to order then about 20 minutes for the coffee to be served. Looks like a lovely place not sure what went wrong there yesterday

Popped in for a coffee whilst in the area and I can see why there are so many excellent reviews, the coffee and snack were first class. It was very authentic and if we lived in the area it would definitely be our favourite café. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good.

Plenty of coffee and cakes to be shared or eating alone. It was a wet and windy walk through the village and needed a hot drink to warm me up.

Stopped by after a 4hr hiking trek in Surrey Hills. Great cappuccino and very tasty pistachio brownie. Friendly service. Cozy decor and reasonable prices. Will definitely return when next in the area.

Lovely food, too many favourites to mention them all. Pistachio covered chocolate brownies, Milanese chicken, aubergine parmigiana, veggie escape, Arancini, home made pesto….all super yum!

Outstanding quality. I had lunch here with a friend today, and am so impressed by the quality of food offerings. It was really delicious and the pistachio brownie was omg so so lovely. Bought 2 tubs of the homemade gelato to bring home....can't wait to try them. Rita and her staff are absolutely amazing, and have a lovely buzzing little coffee shop thats well worth visiting.

This place is great. We had lunch or a snack here every day we were in the area. Much of their menu appears to be cooked on-site, and was very fresh.

My wife and I had breakfast two days on the trot, the food was great, the staff were very attentive. It’s a shame they were not open on Sunday as we would have eaten there prior to going home to Wiltshire. Hopefully once they get someone else to help in the kitchen Sunday’s will be open again. Highly recommended for breakfast and they had a lovely selection of Italian foods behind the glass counter.

Really nice place to have breakfast . Friendly and polite staff.

Wanted to grab a simple takeaway sandwich. Waited 15 mins in the queue which didn’t move anywhere as the 5 front of house staff were chaotically doing anything but taking orders. Appreciate they were working hard and busy but there weren’t prioritising what needed to be done. By the time I neared the front of the queue they had completely run out of chicken so I just gave up. I have been before and the food is good but I wouldn’t bother again due to the poor service. A shame.

If you are looking for a quaint but amazing coffee stop then look no further. This little Italian coffee shop is where you need to be. The staff are amazing friendly and helpful. The coffee is smooth and flavourful. And as for the cake, will, sxxt they're awesome. I had a banana and chocolate loaf cake. It was the full of flavour and moist beyond belief. There were so many cakes on offer that I will have to come and try another. The first bite had so many different flavours coming at you that you don't know what's first. There is ample outside seating to have a catch up with some comfortable seating inside. With a range of lunch options to be had this will definitely be a welcome stop when in the area.

This is my go to for Coffee, Savoury and dessert, even though I live 7 miles away, this is by far the best Deli. And if the food wasn’t enough, I’ve found the services to be outstanding.

Every cake I tested has been delicious. Found out a place ,where the handmade dishes through they tasting that we feel all the love they are been prepared. 100% recommended

Delicious coffee and cakes. Highly recommended. Just saw the review before mine and it made me sad because this is an unusually good place. The standard of the food and drink is superb and the people are lovely. Perhaps he was having a bad day.

Unfortunately I cannot review the quality of this establishment other than to say that I felt that during the current Covid19 pandemic that it appeared customer health and safety was not a priority. As someone with an underlying health condition I wasn't prepared to risk my health for a coffee. The shop is quite small. None of the staff were wearing face coverings, the staff allowed 3 customers to queue in close proximity all without face coverings. If other establishments can make their customers feel safe why not this one?. I therefore took my business elsewhere. Updated 2/5/21 Visited again today. Covid19 precautions very much improved, we were happy to eat and drink here this time. Excellent coffee and food. Will recommend A++++. Happy to now give 5*.

Friendly staff, who don't mind telling you what everything is, and then waiting while you make your (difficult) decision. A good range of savouries and wonderful cakes. Seriously wonderful cakes! Wide range of coffees and drinking chocolate too, my son loved his dark caramel choc, and I was tempted by the "intense chocolate" which is, apparently, much thicker than most drinking chocolate!

Very welcoming and friendly Deli/cafe. Delicious, authentic homemade Italian food and coffee. Takeaway only at the moment so perfect during Lockdown; wish I’d discovered it sooner. Will definitely be back! Grazie 😊

The Carrot cake; WOW!!!! Definitely not part of the calorie controlled diet but it is wonderful to occasionally treat oneself.

Totally worth the wait in the Lockdown-Saturday queue! I’m fussy but such delicious coffee, great meatball sub and a killer “sausage roll” which was actually also a sub and a great one, too. Will definitely need to return, not to mention the decor of this place which is divine and was actually the thing tht drew me in. Not disappointed at all!

Food from here is pricey but its well worth the cost. Delicious coffee and fantastic sandwiches.

Fantastic coffee, wonderful cakes, and delicious and unusual array of fresh croissants I.e. strawberry, almonds, and pistachio. Great meals to take away and cook at home. A real little treat.

We got a couple of portions of Lasagna to take away and it was stunning. Mamas lasagna is the best. Washed down with a couple of glasses of red wine it was treat.

The coffee is the best I've had in years. Very smooth and even the other half can have a cup with out sugar or the "shakes". The service is so friendly and welcoming which adds to the whole experience. Now added to my weekly cycling stop over.

Delicious food, fair price. Owner was not wearing a mask due to medical condition, which is fair enough, however was still serving food. During COVID times, I don't necessary agree with this.

Lovely family business delivering really yummy homemade food . We often stop off for a warm ciabbata filled with advocadoes and mozarella and drizzled in a tasty,exquisite Italian oil ,all prepared so tastefully with lettuce and tomatoe trimmings ,followed by one of Mamas homemade cakes,like no other . Absolutely delicious . Cafe area is small,lovely ambience but can seat only a small number of people ( in warmer weather more areas to sit outside )but also provide a very good takeaway service . It's pretty popular now and I'm sure it will continue to go from strength to strength as it's so good .

First time visiting by chance after driving past from a woodland walk. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious, no photos as we ate it so quickly! Tiramisu is delicious as well as the lasagne (both meat and vegetarian) we will make sure to detour and visit again! Thank you :)

Excellent cafe. The coffees are lovely and the carrot cake is to die for. We've been to the cafe every weekend for three weeks in a row now and the staff are great too! Highly recommended

We had a great lunch here after completing the Horsley Diamond Jubilee walk. The vegetarian lasagna was delicious, as was the tiramisu. Everything was authentic and homely. The service was also excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be back.

I love this place, food is amazing and quite often have take-always from here. What I really like is that their food is not salty - everyone can add as much salt as they want. I personally don't like salty food so this is perfect....

If you love Italian home cooking, make a bee line for Annare. Rita and her son Giancarlo produce the most scrumptious dishes you're likely to encounter in the whole of Surrey. Soup, pasta, parmigiana, cakes - all baked on the premises and all simply divine. The jewel in the crown of East Horsley.

I am eating their since day one, you get the feeling that you are in southern Italy , the food is excellent . Home made by Rita , better than eating in Italy , the Termasu is the best that I have ever tasted . lovely people , authentic Heaven! Coffee is excellent , Cake too is excellent . Those who write bad reviews unfortunately do not understand Italian Culture or Italian service . If you visit Annare , you need to relax and enjoy the Village atmosphere , not to expect fast food service . Annre Has put East Horsley on the map to visit.

We have visited the many iterations of coffee restaurants at this site in East Horsley. Now Annare run by Rita, Gian-Luca and their team have created the ideal casual, yet quality experience. Love the coffee & vibe. Go there and enjoy.

Lots of lovely food and gorgeous coffee in this family run local independent. The owners are friendly and food authentic with a deli that serves tasty Italian specialties which include homemade arancini, lasagne, cannoli as well as various sausages and olives. The homemade and frozen bread is worth trying, you will not be disappointed. A real community hub and so much better than all establishments that preceded it. Thank you

We have passes Annare's a few times but today was the first time we stopped for a coffee and cake. A lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff and authentic Italian cuisine. Everything is home made and the cakes delicious We will definitely visit again for lunch. Would recommend it to anyone looking for something different and authentic.

Loved it. Great coffee, had a fabulous eggs Benedict royale ( includes smoked salmon). You can't book and unfortunately most of the tables are small. We were lucky and had the only large table for 3 of us. It's described as a sharing table. Despite that we would definitely go back. Looked well supported by the local community which is a very good sign.
