The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We came as two couples the room was cold and not very inviting as we did book another table over 4 weeks ago. We ordered the drinks and guess what they got those wrong. We all had starters after requesting for salt and pepper which was not even set out on our table. On the TURKEY ESCALOPES plate which two of us ordered for the main what looked and tasted like frozen peas and carrots. Portion size was only adequate at best. After not requesting for a dessert we had seen enough. I cannot remember such poor service poor food and poor value for money. Each couple paid £75 which was daylight robbery.

We were staying at Holland On Sea for the easter break and found this pizzeria just up the road from where we were staying, we couldn’t decide what to eat. We were not disappointed one bit. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming and the owner himself is from Sorento (one place we want to go back to) had a lovely chat about Italy. The food menu was really good, so took a little while to decide lol, but what we did have was so delicious and yummy, the portion sizes are big, such good value for money. He also made some traditional Sorrento Easter cakes that that morning, so we had to buy one….WOW they were amazing, wish we had brought one each😋 We will definitely be back when we return.

This is a wonderful restaurant which is close to the railway station. Really good choice of menu and served with a smile. Would highly recommend it.

Gem of a local Italian restaurant. Visited yesterday for lunch. Delicious food, particularly the pasta. Definitely worth a visit.

A very busy place to eat, which is understandable as the food is excellent. Staff very polite and helpful.

It is great to have a pizza venue that really goes out of their way to cater for food intolerances. They have a variety of gluten free bases, which is great for me. They do try to keep everything separate, but obviously its still prepared in the same area, so your level of sensitivity may effect if you'd want to go. But they did advise they use separate utensils and trays, and wash surfaces, hands etc. The pizza itself was great. Way too much for one person really, but too good to leave any. I ended up absolutely stuffed. The pizza looks and tasted great. Staff were all friendly and were constantly on hand to help if needed but weren't intrusive.

Absolutly beautiful food. Was extremely hard trying to decide what to eat, we eventully went for, risotto ai frutti di mare and filetto di sea bass with roasted vegetables. Both similar dishes but individually mouthwatering each. Finished off with the ice cream for hubs and churros for me (minus the cinnamon which staff were more than happy to leave out on request) again absolutly wonderful food. There was a birthday celebration whikst we were here and it was lovely to see many staff member joining in on the celebration singing happy birthday whilst bringing out the cake to the birthday person. So a happy birthday to you from the other side of the restaurant. So overall a fantastic service and experiance from Ecu & Prabha. Can not wait to come back and try something new. 5*
