Little hidden away family run place, the food is really nice and the family who runs it are very friendly. I had the lasagne and it was a proper Italian one with all the layers. Would recommend.

This family-run restaurant is a true hidden gem in Newcastle. The tiramisu and bolognese are a must.

This was a special meal and the food and people were outstanding. I had a very tricky menu request prior to the evening and they couldn’t have been more obliging. Couple of tweaks here and there and everyone was sorted. The food was amazing every person was very happy with everything and that included drinks and desserts Couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Quality!!

Disappointing. Slow service, waited 45 minutes for food order to be taken. When arrived, food was average at best. Won’t be going back.

The restaurant is lovely and the food is superb with large portions. The garlic bread is the size of a pizza. Staff were really good and the atmosphere was great Will definitely be back soon.

Absolutely amazing, fresh Italian food, original Peroni! Staff were so lovely, but the food was out of this world, a real authentic Italian experience. Hands down the best Italian around. You can tell this is familyrun nd they show so much pride in their cooking and cuisine, would recommend to anybody. Well done Framcesco.

Amazing food will be back at some point

A lovely, truly authentic Italian tucked away down a side street. All food is lovingly made, from scratch by Francesco to the highest standard. The service is very good, where you are not waiting very long between courses. The Atmosphere is truly lovely, where you can sometimes find your hostess, Cassie serenading while you dine. We Always look forward to a special experience at Amore!

The restaurant is very nice. Prices are higher and portions are not very large, but filling and very tasty. Good starters and delicious Gnocchi - the best I've ever eaten (with shrimp, chorizo and chili, brilliant!). BUT the big minus is the price of the dessert. The ice cream was really very good, but despite the homemade ice cream, £7.50 for such a tiny cup of ice cream is definitely too high a price, unfortunately. Everything was adequate to the price except the desserts.

A wonderful family run restaurant! I believe the chef is the owner and the place it’s only open from Wednesday to Saturday 6pm to 10pm. The restaurant is hidden in sort of corner of an alley however is easily accessible and plenty of car park within walking distance from the restaurant. There is a ramp at the entrance to enable wheelchair access. The restaurant style and decor represents the authentic Italian style and the personal photos on the wall strengthens the feeling of that this is a family run business. The food in general was delicious, each meal was indeed fresh and the dessert was heaven. Not a lot of selection on the menu which I really appreciate in a restaurant. Makes choosing a dish easier and allows the chef to master them few dishes. In my opinion the amount and price of the meals are acceptable however I would not recommend the squid in red wine as it does not worth the price. I also missed the pizzas from the menu, as an Italian restaurant I would expect the place to offer this. Slightly bit on the pricey side for its value, size of portions and location in my opinion. In overall service was fantastic, dessert and focaccia was heaven and food was delicious. Plenty of Italian alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and of course Pelegrino was on the menu. I would definitely recommend to visit this restaurant.

Lovely little Italian restaurant

Hidden gem! One of the nicest restaurants in Newcastle. The food was absolutely delicious and accompanied by such a lovely wine. The staff were very pleasant, hoping to return. Recommend the cheesy foccacia!

A pleasantly simple menu with truly delicious taste in each and every dish we had - the wine we picked was also recommended by the owner and didn't disappoint. The hidden venue offers a genuine authentic feel of Italy with a welcoming cosy atmosphere. A must visit - huge well done to the owners :)

A great family run business. We have been many times and again another fabulous meal at Amore. Food - hot, tasty, good portion sizes and good selection to choose from. Nice buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff. I would recommend to anyone.

Oh my goodness, why haven't we been here before?! The food is absolutely exceptional. Every course was fresh, piping hot, and so incredibly delicious. There is a good variety to choose from on the menu, and absolutely everything is homemade and traditional. The tiramisu is to die for, so light and full of flavour, definitely the best we've ever had. The chef really does work magic in the kitchen! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, they really made us feel at home. I would 100% recommend Amore to other lovers of authentic Italian food, and we'll most definitely be back. I think there was far too many in our group for them to cope with, out of 24 people approx. They got 3 to 4 meals wrong and rather than taking the blame they blamed it on the hostess who had emailed all the chosen dishes and who showed the manager who was not accepting the blame so some of the party were not happy with that.

Not a good experience, pre ordered menu for a large group ,very small portions food not hot drinks order incorect . I felt so sorry for the waitresses who were very apologetic it was not their fault. My friend had no meal at all we ended in macdonalds. If as a restaurant you cannot cope with large groups decline the booking .

Awful service , pre ordered meals as there were 20 + of us . At least 1/3 of the meals were wrong , side orders coming out after food had been eaten. The main problem for myself was the rudeness of the manager , who according to her none of the error were down to them and her word were “blame her at the end of the table “ absolutely shocking customer service.While I agree errors can be made but at least 7 meals were wrong , no sides came but as the manager said it was because “she” had cancelled them , laughable really . Needless to say my friend who organised everything was very upset and I doubt any of us will return .

And absolutely fantastic evening, we'd just ordered dessert when the was a power cut. After about 10 mins or so there was no sign of the power coming back on and behind me, one of the staff put a song on her mobile we just thought it was something as background ground noise but the she started to sing and wow! Her voice was absolutely fantastic and completely unrehearsed and it really made good of a bad situation it was service above and beyond which is becoming rare these days

The best authentic Italian food. All freshly cooked by Francesco and his wife. The staff are most welcoming and attentive. We had a fabulous meal - in fact the best we have had in ages. We shall definitely return.

Our second time at Amore and we had the sampler menu. A little expensive in relation to other offerings on the menu, but what an excellent choice. We were asked about our likes and dislikes and a fantastic 5 course treat was presented to us. There was no rush to the evening and each dish complemented the next. Proper home cooked, locally sourced food, with an abundance of Italian flair. Places like this are becoming rare. Genuine and bespoke, like being in Italy, France, Spain or Greece ...... The food and the service make the evening 👌 A bottle of Primitivo served us well

Lovely food. HOWEVER...we dined last night and waited 45 minutes for starters to arrive which was a real shame. The service was very slow, albeit polite! At no point was an apology offered, which we would expect given the delay and wait time for food

Arrived on time on Friday evening having pre booked a table for 2. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table.No offer of a complementary drink while we were waiting.Food was good,but not exceptional for the price. I would suggest that at busy times they explain to customers that their table is pre booked later in the evening, so as not to keep new customers waiting. Regards Alec

A hidden gem in the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme. This family run restaurant is one not to be missed. Fabulous authentic italian food which tastes amazing with wonderful friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best restaurants I have been to. The gnocchi was unbelievable and I cannot wait to come back and visit to try some more of the menu. The servers are lovely and we were made to feel so welcomed. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Excellent local restaurant with friendly staff. We were staying in the area and visited for a quick weeknight meal. Loved it so much that we returned for the tasting menu on the Friday. On both visits the food was outstanding. We look forward to going back.

Very enjoyable evening lovely staff and great food.

The food was amazing. The chef's specials menu has many extra items and the fisherman stew was delicious! The seafood in it was amazingly fresh. Very cosy place. Would be great for a Valentine's Day.

Had a really nice meal, dessert and cocktails, good service, nice and cosy atmosphere, although the menu didn't clearly denote what dishes were vegetarian or vegan.

Stayed in the area for a week, located this resturant on line, it was so good, we returned on our last night. The chef came out to check on customer halfway though the night and we were able to thank him for the amazing meals. I highly recommend this resturant, which I had a chance to try more of the menu.
