Beautiful little restaurant with lots of charm. Chef personally came out to serve us our food. Every member of staff was exceedingly friendly and attentive despite it being a busy Friday night. There is absolutely nothing I can fault. The service was fast, the food was incredible and authentic and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. 10/10 will absolutely be returning. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Opening hours say until 9pm on a Sunday and I walked in at 8.02pm. Was told the kitchen closed at 8.00pm although had called earlier and was told last orders were 8.30pm. Say no more 😣

Had a fabulous meal last night ! Lovely freshly cooked food for hungry party of 5. We are local, but visitors were really impressed with their meal and the friendly, efficient service. Great value and can't recommend highly enough. Atmosphere was very friendly and cosy.

We had a great meal at Don Alberto during an overnight stop in Holmes Chapel whilst travelling to the Lakes. Outstanding service was the highlight, the guys brought around water because it was such a warm evening and kept everyone topped up. Even offered to have our choice of music on since we were the last people dining in the evening. Meal itself was also brilliant, we had arancini starter and pizza and ravioli main. Couldn’t fault any of it - came in good time and tasted brilliant. They also do a nice house lager and good wine (not super expensive for either). Very reasonably priced everything considered. Would definitely return if I was in the area again.

Lovely restaurant local to my grandparents. Food is always lovely and comes out quick and hot. Only disappointment is that an Italian restaurant doesn’t have a coffee tiramisu on their dessert menu!

Rarely one to leave a bad review but what an awful meal. We’ve been a couple of times before in a group for a pizza etc and it’s been fine but I don’t know what’s changed. Awful service, stressed waiters pouring with sweat, overcooked bland pasta and severely undercooked risotto. Maybe best just for pizzas, I don’t know. Always a nice atmosphere in there so it’s a shame. The place wasn’t even full but seemed a shambles

Second time going. On arrival there was a little confusion about where to sit despite booking but it got sorted swiftly by waiter and was told we could sit on a larger table. Ordered straight away. A young waiter brought water jug and kept topping this up throughout the night and kept checking we had everything we needed throughout the night. Starter came out 10 mins after ordering - it was amazing. Straight after our mains were brought out. My partner had calzone and I had pasta. They were both delicious. If anything, my partner had to leave some of the salami as there was so much filling. One comment he made was the dough was slightly well done on one side, which he actually liked. Thank you to all the staff, particularly the young waiter who was professional, polite and very attentive.

The best Italian restaurant I have ever been in. The food staff and surrounds were perfect.

First time at Don Alberto. Excellent food, decent house red at a sensible price, and good service. We went at 7pm on a Saturday night, and it was very busy. Adjacent table very noisy, which made it difficult for us to talk, but they departed after about 30 mins, so much better after that. We will certainly be recommending to friends, and pay another visit ourselves.

We visited last night 28/4 for our eldest sons 18th birthday. The staff were very pleasant and the food was delivered hot. The barman made a complimentary cocktail for our son and we had a rendition of happy birthday when the cake was delivered to the table.

The food was amazing - tasty, hot, and generous portions. The staff were friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The value for money is excellent, we were surprised that a meal for 4 with drinks and a bottle of prosecco was only around £80. The one and only disappointment was that there was no tiramisu on the dessert menu! We'll definitely go back again 😁

Have eaten in many Italian restaurants over the years, this is one of the best. In the area for a couple of days working, from Cardiff. Had the Salmon and prawn pasta, wife had the picante, both dishes were outstanding. Made to feel like an old friend by the owner Would highly recommend. Very busy, so book.

ould have been so much more We booked based on the reviews and as it’s 10 minutes from us thought we would give it a try. Initial impressions were of a busy restaurant where we thought the night would be good. We arrived on time and we’re told our table would be 10-15 minutes ok but then no one took a drinks order while we stood at the bar. 10 minutes in we were asked if we would like a drink I asked for a coke and a peroni. Beer swiftly served and then the coke which was flat. Sent the coke back and was told I’ll sort that for you. We were shown to the table 20 mins late, and the coke followed us eventually. We ordered mushroom bruschetta and spare ribs to start. The mushrooms arrived with a flourish from the obviously Italian waiter but no spare ribs. I waited and observed the next table being served with a mushroom bruschetta and ribs, only to see them sent back as they hadn’t ordered ribs, intervening as politely as possible I said he had obviously got the tables mixed up and that we had their bruschetta and they had our ribs!! Calamity averted I assumed we were plain sailing again. Ribs good and the mushrooms very nice. At this point I decided to order a bottle of wine and asked for the montepulciano which was £25 I think. The wine arrived and I uestioned if it was the one I had ordered assured that it was and it was poured. My mind was telling me that’s not right but the Italian waiter said no it was right so it must be. The mains arrived together thankfully a mushroom risotto and a filet al Pepe. Offered black pepper but no Parmesan. The risotto was dry and could have done with more cheese to add some creaminess the steak was cooked rare but was cold, and the vegetables were limited 1/2 a potato and cold beans carrots and broccoli We ate the meal it was passable but not fantastic Then came the saga of the bill requested at 915 delivered and then we sat waiting until 945 to pay it. I ended up standing at the bar as I was so bored of waiting. Aonly then did it become apparent that I had been served a bottle of house red as I thought and not the wine ordered, this had cost the restaurant £15. I paid leaving the barman under no illusion that things hadn’t gone well. Another couple had problems with their steaks and a young couple were given food that hadn’t ordered but accepted anyway. Perhaps an element of training is required or waiters who are prepared to listen to the customers. We eat out a lot and are happy to comment on excellent service and food but this definitely missed the spot, a shame as some of the food is great and it had a decent atmosphere For me it would be 6/10 might try it again on a week night as Saturdays best avoided

Had a great visit to Don Alberto last night. There was a group of 9 of us and the service was exceptional. The staff couldn't do enough for us including making the birthday girl feel very special with a candle in a free desert and a round of shots. The food was absolutely delicious as per usual - a particular favourite being the rigatoni filetto. 5* would definitely recommend and will be returning.

I booked a table for 7 for a very close family friend's birthday meal this past weekend 21st January 2023 & we were not disappointed at all. The atmosphere was perfect, the food was exceptional. I have eaten at a few Italian restaurants over time & I can honestly say that Don Alberto in Holmes Chapel comes out on Top. Absolutely superb night & the service was 110% on point. At any point I am in this area again in the future I will make a beeline to book a table at Don Alberto's. Really great service guys & your food was Amazing - Can not praise you enough. Thank you for a really enjoyable night - I our family friend was made up with a great meal, with great company & in a great restaurant... Perfect 🤗😊🙏

Have been here multiple times but unfortunately, recently, the service and atmosphere have been poor. The food, although usually very good, has not been great recently. Whilst we were in tonight, 3 other tables around us had to send food back. One group ordered a drink then left without ordering food (as their order hadn't been taken by the time they finished their drinks). One of our drinks was missed, one of our starters was missed and one of our mains was cold. We had to ask for tap water 3 times. For a group of 8 a small jug was provided then not refilled. Unfortunately the staff are inexperienced and don't follow up at tables. When glasses are empty, they don't ask if you want another drink. When plates are empty, it takes ages to clear them away. There used to be a great specials board but the past couple of times I've been the board has been empty. They really need to work on the service and atmosphere as they are losing local customers. We know many locals who used to visit regularly and now won't because of the service. It's a real shame.

We chose to book a table late on Friday afternoon. We haven't been to Don Alberto for a good while but it was worth it. The service was slick and cordial. The food was as expected, I had the marinara and to me it was excellent. Peppery, good sauce and just the right amount of seafood. The pizzas my wife and son had were equally as good. It won't be as long before we visit again.

Took 20 of us for a pre wedding meal the whole experience was amazing the staff were faultless and couldn't have done more for us and to drop us a bottle of presecco at the end just topped off our night

Truly wonderful authentic Italian food. Our family has been a regular at this brilliant restaurant since it opened many years ago. We've literally never had anything other than incredible food and great service. Can't think of anywhere else where we can say that. Never left a review before, but suggestion that serving staff are 'young' prompted me to do so. Some are indeed quite young, but they are all extremely polite, friendly and the service is excellent. The food is also as genuinely Italian as you can get. Sister restaurant Il Padrino also highly recommended.

Excellent service, fabulous food well presented. Can't beat their pizza's and steak Diane. All we have eaten has been first class and difficult to isolate down to a few favourites such as above.

Lived in Holmes Chapel for years but never tried Don Alberto's, but on Sunday 1st Aug 2021. Absolutely fantastic food and wine, great surroundings and outstanding service. Will defo be going again

Very disappointed visit to restaurant last night. Having read the previous reviews we thought we were going to have the best times. The restaurant was busy but we have booked. Drinks order was taken quite quickly. We ordered a bottle of sparkling amongst others but were not given the water glasses until after a while. Ordered our food. We thought the starters took a long time but the mains took 1.45 hours after our starters. No explanations as to why that was the case. We looked around and lots of others were also waiting far too long for their food. There was a problem with the Wi-Fi apparently not working so all payments were to be made in cash but this was not communicated when we first got to the restaurant! Asking for drinks top up was hard work too. It’s like they were avoiding us. My main issue is the fact that no one from the restaurant told us that the food was going to be late. I would have thought the would have offered us more drinks or garlic bread whilst waiting for the very delayed mains. I must say by the time the mains arrived, all I wanted to do was get out of there as it was far too late to eat already. It’s such a shame, we were having for a proper nice family dinner. We weren’t going to take our phones out but after waiting over an hour for our mains we ran out of things to say to each other! What a disappointment. Owners need to try harder in terms of communicating with the customers and doing more to make them them feel appreciat

I booked a table for two last Friday night at Don Alberto in Holmes Chapel, and I had a really lovely time. We were met with a very warm welcome, and a very authentic and lively Italian atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Great service and smiles all around! The food was great, and the portions are extremely generous so be prepared to eat!

Had a family meal here for Father’s Day and it was brilliant! Food, service and ambiance perfect, highly recommended for family night out or a special meal

Just had another excellent takeaway. Food piping hot, excellent portions, lots of seafood in the risotto etc etc. Well worth every penny. Can't fault any of the food we have had from here.

Thank you for an amazing meal last weekend. Collected and when arrived home was still hot. Same quality as when eating in. Spot on! Would Def recommend the ravioli with prawns and if you like basics the Spaghetti Carbonara and Spag bog!

First visit, though had take away previously, all care taken with tables well spaced, service attentive, food delicious.

Have visited and had take-aways from Don Alberto many times and always been happy. Took friends for their first visit last night and true to form the main courses were simply delicious. Our waiter wore no gloves so a little bit of consternation on that front. Then it came to desserts. Two out of 3 chosen were not available, including ice-cream!! The ones we chose were all stale. This was such a pity as our friends live outside Holmes Chapel. We will go again but skip dessert unless ice-cream is on.

This was our first visit to Don Albertos in Holmes Chapel and without question we will be back.We were a party of 4 and we all agreed that everything we ate was absolutely fantastic.The staff were also brilliant. Very attentive and friendly throughout.I just wish that trip advisor allowed more than a 5 star rating.

I have been to this restaurant a few times now me and my family absolutely love it, the service is 1st class from all the staff, and the food is out of this world as it is all freshly made I would highly recommend this place!!

Second visit since the easing of the lockdown. Never fails to deliver. Great service and fantastic food all at a reasonable price.

Our family have just had takeaway from Don Alberto. Excellent service, food piping hot, good portion sizes and quality as good as in the restaurant.So much seafood in the risotto.The free bruchetta was an aded bonus and much enjoyed too.Just perfect and such a nice treat in these awfull times.

What a fantastic surprise to find the quality of food and service still available in take away form in this unpresdented time of lockdown. A birthday meal should be special and as we all can't go out the options are restricted. Well at Don Alberto the full restautant menu is available for takeway. We placed our order for a specific time , no problem there the food was available on time straight from the kitchen so piping hot. The portion sizes were generous the food quality was excellent and the birthday meal was a roring success so thanks all at Don Alberto keep it up we'll soon be back to normal.

Went with friends from work, really nice food & great atmosphere.

A pleasant enough dining area, with little in the way of ambience. Menu is quite extensive which proved a challenge for the chef when our party of 4 order 4 different entrees and 4 different mains. 3 out of the 4 entrees were acceptable (not brilliant) with the 4th being tepid and undercooked. The main courses came quite quickly and 2 of the 4 were good. The prawn and smoked salmon penne was overcooked and the 'king' prawns were the smallest prawns I've ever seen! Very mediocre dish at best. The fish ravioli was served with parmesan already added which overpowered the flavors. Strangely when we asked for ground salt and pepper for the table they only had one set available and the salt grinder didn't work. Meals were priced reasonably well, a little on the high side, but would have been happy with the cost if the meals had been spot-on. They did take a small amount off the total when I provided feedback on the issues we had with the meals. Nice staff, but could be a bit more engagong

Outstanding!! I have 100% found my new favourite restaurant! Everything was 10/10 from the call following my email for the booking to the goodbye. I had the bruschetta for nibbles the prawn cocktail followed by the fillet steak with the dolchilatte sauce..... wow!!!! I can’t wait to return and try something else 10/10 absolutely amazing food

Lovely atmosphere, such a great place to come and eat. Food was fantastic, as is the service.

We visited on 7th February.We all had 3 course meals. What can I say apart from "amazing". The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection. My main was seafood tagliatelle. The mussels were huge! The atmosphere in the restaurant felt comfortable and friendly. The staff were lovely and very attentive.This was our first visit after coming very highly recommended. The first visit of many to come. Can't wait!!

I was really looking forward to eating here. I'd heard good things about it. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I ordered carbonara which had obviously been standing around for a LONG time before it came to me (it wasn't that busy either) it was inedible!
