Bella Sera in Rochdale

We visited here with friends. We were welcomed warmly. The restaurant was quiet even for a Thursday night. The service was prompt & friendly. We had a nice shared starter between the four of us. The main courses were very nice. No complaints from anyone. The white wine we had was very nice. All in all, a nice experience.

First time dining here and after reading the reviews we could see why it is so popular. Excellent food, service and atmosphere, highly recommended.

We visited as a group of 15 celebrating a special birthday. Excellent service, food was delicious. We were sat in the separate/private room at the back of the restaurant which was perfect. All staff friendly and service was amazing. We all had a variety of different dishes from the main & specials menu. All were superb! Will definitely be visiting again. Definitely a hidden gem!

We come here at least once every 6weeks,we’ve never had a bad meal we love it…BUT OMG just had the BEST meal EVER LAMB SHANK 100% Recommend.And if you haven’t being it’s a MUST

Fillet steaks to die for.,.but all their classic Italian food is fabulous! The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive and the prices are very reasonable given all the above.

Hidden Gem, went in and the service from the waiter was exceptional. From the second I walked in I felt welcomed. From start to finish the food was spectacular. I’ve been to many Italian but this has topped it for me. Food was so delicious. I will definitely be back regularly. 5 Stars all round

I came here with, admittedly, low expectations. My in-laws are Italian, and I'm fortunate enough to have experienced lots of fantastic Italian cusine. This ranks up there with it, the service, and most importantly, the food itself, went above and beyond. Highly recommend, Heywood is lucky to have a treasure like this.

I eat out very regular someone recommended Bella sera to me it’s a half hour drive out but I tell you is 100% worth it the food was amazing one of the best steaks I’ve had , what a beautiful restaurant lovely warm homely atmosphere the staff were all great 10/10 from me Thanks again For a lovely evening

Lovely restaurant for a cosy date night

Another visit to this Great Hidden Gemin Heywood last Saturday Night. Oh My God; What can I say again? Came back with My Friend' Birthday meal, We were 8 of Us. We All enjoyed our Meals and They are so generous portions and very delicious , We All delighted and amused. A couple of Us had The Gamberoni Picanti (the king prawns) they were amazingly tasty and full of flavours, for the Mains We had Steaks ( which they came with additional chips or veg @ no extra cost ), Pastas and Pizzas . For the Deserts We had Crème Brullee & The deliciouse Tiramisu which was sensational. At Our surprise, They even got for My Friend's Birthday a small desert with aCandle and They All sang Happy Bithday for Him, What a great atmosphere. They really looked after Us very well indeed. The Atmosphere was exquisite and buzzing. Thank you again Bella Sera Team and keep on the Hard Work and Deffo We will see you again and spread the LOVE.👏👏👏👏xxxx

We had high hopes for this place. Having read the positive reviews, but I couldn't help wondering if we had stumbled into the wrong restaurant. Greeting and seating was a bit indifferent, but that wouldn't matter as long as the food came up to scratch; Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. My wife had seafood, which was fine, if not a little plain. I had the fillet steak, which was served Well Done rather than Medium rare and tasted distinctly of liver. The texture was that of corned beef and was one of the poorest steaks I have had in my lifetime. A side order of seasonal veg was bland mush, identical to the veg served with the fish dish. Certainly not fit to be sold as a side dish. Utterly disappointed.

We visited for the early bird menu , really enjoyed our meal. This is one of several visits and we have never been disappointed. The service is always good and staff pleasant , welcoming and helpful. A good varied menu and portions are generous.

average restaurant , serving typical italian meals . The food was alright , nothing wrong with the meals but nothing exceptional . All members of staff were lovely and very family friendly. We visited with two children and a toddler. Our meal was somewhat disturbed by one member of staff squeezing between one of our chairs and a back cupboard to access what looked like a fuse box or electric meter ? He apologised . One of the forks wasn't washed properly and upon picking it up , I noticed a stain on it :/ This was promptly replaced, when I mentioned it . In addition we were almost charged for two bottles of wine , when we only ordered one . We flagged this and the bill was amended . HOWEVER - please pay attention to what you ordered and what you're paying for . This could have been a human error , but seemed a bit cheeky and should not have taken place . Lastly ... starters and mains were served all at once , leaving us with limited space on the table and mains losing the temperature as we ate starters first . I wish I could give more stars , but three is as high as it can get . Again , food was nice but will not be returning .

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and always found the food great and reasonably priced, the steaks, vegetables and fish are always great. What I would say though is make sure you request a table in the main part of the restaurant and not in the extension at the rear as it lacks ambiance and if there is a small party there as there was during our meal it is much too noisy.

Came christmas day party of 10. Couldn't fault a anything about our time there. Everyone was catered for. Food came out together. Nobody had to wait. The staff worked tirelessly all day we ca t wait for your diary to open for 2025 . You should be proud of yourselves AMAZING 👏

Been to this restaurant 3 times in 6 months and everytime it has been superb and the experience hasn’t dipped at all for me being from near the location I have a few choices in terms of Italian restaurants with this one being the furthest away and prefer this to stocco or Italian room which are way closer for me but unfortunately Bella sera is superior by far

Lovely place,great food shame about the older guy not sure if he's the owner or manager or head waiter...was quite rude whilst ordering food...told us not to point at the menu....he had been working 11 hour shifts last thing he wanted was people pointing at what food they want..he wanted us to say it...we couldn't father out if it was his humer or being plain rude!!! Told him if it was a problem maybe put numbers nxt to the food choices...to which we got another rude reply !!! Sorry but we won't be re booking here again!!!

Tucked away in Haywood, Bella Sera provided a warm welcome when we arrived. Quickly seated and drinks order taken. Extensive menu so meal choices took a while. The Bruschetta Pomoro was lovely, lots of tomato and the Antipasto was excellent for two. One of our party had Filetto al Pape which was cooked perfectly, the Linguine Gamberoni was full of flavour, the Lasagne was very beefy and tasty and the Farfalle al Peppe Nero had a nice creamy sauce. To finish the sweets (huge portions) and coffee were lovely. The service throughout from two young ladies and the maitre d was efficient and attentive.

The atmosphere is lovely, as are the staff.. I'm in a wheelchair and they could not do enough to help. The food was absolutely delicious and served piping hot. The maitre d' is very happy to chat with you and the price is very reasonable. We will definitely be back!

It was my first visit to this restaurant, I found it spacious and welcoming, with a beautiful ambience. The service added to this, which was very good, and the food exquisite. Added to this, the whole evening was reasonably priced. Thank you for making a special evening more memorable. We will definitely be returning.

Bella Sera restaurant is a familiar and loving place. The staff is always friendly and attentive to every detail. It offers authentic Italian cuisine, delicious and abundant. The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for a special event, a romantic evening or a family dinner. The dishes are delicious and the service is excellent, I am Italian and I can say with certainty that I have tasted foods of my tradition. I will definitely return without doubts!!!

This surpassed previous visits in my opinion. Helpful, friendly service and the courses I enjoyed were top drawer. Give it a try - you'll be pleased you did.

Seven of visited on a wet and miserable Tuesday night in August . We all chose from the early bird menu , loads of dishes on the menu - plenty of choice and generous portions . Food was very nice . I had pate and then a lovely risotto . Everybody enjoyed their food , a couple of us even managed desserts after our main courses . Coffees and drinks were all reasonably priced . Staff were very helpful as one of our party is disabled and uses a frame to help him walk , they helped him into the restaurant and up to his seat . One kind chap even checked the time of the bus for him, as he had to travel back to Rochdale , which I thought was lovely . Definitely recommend this restaurant and thanks to the staff for their kindness . Will visit again !

We hadn’t booked but they managed to fit us in. This was our first visit and we were blown away. The atmosphere was great. The staff were lovely. The food was outstandingly beautiful- we both had fish and the amount you got for the price was amazing. So happy with our visit. We will definitely visiting again.

Lovely evening out. Party of Six of us, great service, outstanding food in the Conservatory. Not one complaint from anyone. Steaks looked amazing, My Risotto di Mare was excellent. Easily my favourite Italian restaurant in the area.

Absolutely beautiful we had the lamb shank and it was to die for. The staff couldn’t do enough for us they learnt my sons name and was very attentive to us which just made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Can’t wait to go again 10/10 Thankyou !!

A lovely meal tonight with very attentive staff. Food was excellent as well as service. One of the diners in our party had mobility and swallowing issues and they were great! We had a table on the same level as the bar, so we avoided the steps up to the main dining area. Bella Sera were happy to just serve ice cream to my mother in law. The rest of us had great starters (meatballs or gambas) and the mains were delicious as well (steak Diane and diavola pizza). Would highly recommend.

Booked easily just a couple of hours before via fb messenger. Lovely king prawn starter, well seasoned in butter and a nice kick of chilli. The steak special melted in the mouth and the lasagne was great. Finished off with Tiramisu and creme brulee and coffee. Great service as well.

We visited for the early bird menu and there was plenty of choice. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely go again when we are back in the area.

I came to bella sera with my family what a amazing experience we had from start to finish We was welcomed at the door by the matradee who lead us to one of the greatest restaurant and dining experience we have has in a long time Tagatelle di mare is a must seafood pasta served with fresh pizza dough on the top to keep all the flavours inside the pasta :) yum Home made tirimisu for dessert Followed by and espresso martini Thank you team well done

We went here on Saturday night to celebrate a friends 60th Birthday as a party of 15 and couldn't fault a thing. The restaurant was very busy but the service and food was excellent. I would highly recommend Bella Sera to anyone looking for excellent food and service. Thank you to all the staff for being very attentive to all our parties needs.

There were 8 of us and the restaurant was very busy, but our meal was served quickly and it was delicious. We will definitely be going here again Aaron looked after our every need, and we finished off with a shot of Limoncello. All the staff are friendly and helpful

We booked for my husbands birthday tonight, I had high expectations after seeing recent awards posts, however I experienced one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. It was my husbands birthday and my treat, we arrived to a nice, warm reception, the FOH saying they would be with us shortly; when I stated my table had been booked for 4 at 7, he looked wild eyed around for somewhere to seat us. The options were slim and we were eventually seated on garden furniture, which was very different from the tall back leather seats that the rest of the restaurant had; the FOH proceeded to tell me he would move us as soon as he could......we were not moved. This annoyance aside we stayed happy and willing to stay. The starters we ordered were lovely, crisp and fresh; my husband had the goats cheese and mushrooms on toast, and I had the calamari, which was delicious. My children ordered an appletiser and a coke, first delivery was fine. Second order was not. We were informed that they had ran out of appletiser, fine...but they served my thirteen year old a booze, and coke. I asked for this to be replaced, which it was, but no real apology. Then an employee took a large fake plant and dropped it so hard behind my 13 year old daughter she actually jumped. It was so close to the back of her chair that she couldn't move out and my husband had to move the plant. They did not ask at all if the service was good..it wasn't, it was shocking. Me and my husband had steak for main and the children had pizza. The steak was nice but the sauce was thinned within an inch of its life and there was no taste left. The children both enjoyed their pizzas. We ordered 1 desert and some aperitif which were all nice. When I asked for the bill I was offered a lemon cello and a drink for the children, they brought the lemon cello but I had to ask for the children's drinks. Overall is was an underwhelming, disappointing experience that I will not be revisiting. The food had the potential to be very nice, but severely stretch produce and shocking service will be a no. I don't know whether this was a one off or whether they had taken on too many patrons but it wasn't a good experience.

Food was gorgeous, very well cooked and tasty. Service was perfect. Atmosphere was enjoyable. I had the specials, scallops starter, sea bass main followed by afforgato. The entire party enjoyed their meals.

Returned here since new ownership. Staff are amazing as always! Starters were okay, mains were good. Biggest issue is the early bird menu working out more expensive than the normal menu in most cases? There is no value of saving money. Some dishes are a supplement too. Will be trying again however make sure you add up what you’re ordering and see which menu is cheaper!

We have been eating at Bella Sera for around 14 years. We went last night for the 1st time since last year, and were initially concerned to find that the restaurant was under new management since Christmas. The staff were lovely and very professional and courteous. The food was delicious. The menu has changed and is pricier than before, but that is to be expected with times as they are currently. We will definitely return, and it remains a favourite for us.
