The noise was absolutely alarming, my friend had to shout just to place his order. We did move table but unfortunately it was still exceptionally loud. I had a pizza, some thing I don’t normally order and it was just so salty, I aite just under half of it. The waiter asked if I wanted it boxing up to take home. I explained it was pointless as it wasn’t edible. He just said “OK”. He clearly wasn’t too bothered, or maybe it’s a comment he’s heard many times, who knows. My friend loved his dish as did my wife so at least they enjoyed the food but they did struggle with the noise level. Personally I would suggest there’s other places close by that are far better. Chose wisely.

Went out for a meal for my birthday with my family, food was amazing, got well looked after by remy and the rest of the team.

Fantastic food, service & atmosphere. Food was piping hot and perfectly served. Would have posted pictures of full plates of food, but it was that good when it was served, we tucked straight into it! Would have liked to stay longer for the alcoholic dessert/drinks, but the food was filling (& wouldn't have been able to drive!)

The starters took 35 minutes from ordering to arrive. I had the Calamari which was bland and rubbery, my partner had the scallops, which for the price expected more than the 3 she got. The mains were ok, duo of beef and the cent trio for one. Unfortunately it was spoilt by a rowdy party (who were loud and swearing). The staff did try and calm them down a few times but they continued. Although there were these issues, overall I would score it a 7

We had yet another bottomless, great value for money, lovely staff, brilliant food/drinks. We try and eat here at least once a month, it's that good!

This is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere. The aesthetics are stunning and would be lovely for a romantic date night. The service was lovely and adhered to our needs. The only disappointment where the pork meatballs where raw when they came to the table. They soon remade them and brought a fresh plate, also taking them off the bill. The rest of the food was fresh and tasty

Our large party was warmly received. All the staff were ready and waiting, the excellent service ran through the whole evening. We had a lovely evening, in a very well organised restaurant. At the end of the evening our party were very well looked after in the small bar. We would certainly book our event here again.

The paella was shocking .super watery and had a bad taste probably from the clam water being tipped in with the clams but was resolved instantly refunded and gifted . The staff are amazing as is the food : mishaps do happen and will not be put off .

Excellent food and service good value for money. Only negative is large groups should be told to keep the noise down its not fair on other people trying to enjoy their meal.

My family used to come here when the restaurant was called ‘Fallen Angels’ for special occasions. Unfortunately all the lovely classic Italian angel paintings on the wall have gone (just boring grey walls now) The atmosphere is different, the music played is what you would hear in a night club. Unfortunately we will not be returning - although the staff are lovely, the food is just not good. I had bruschetta. The dish was bland with freezing cold tomatoes and swimming in olive oil. I also had the ‘pizza’ - I was really looking forward to the crispy base but it was floppy and just had no flavour (I didn’t finish it). My husband had the steak. He said it had no flavour and was undercooked (he asked for medium and it came rare) They put a massive clump of undressed rocket on the side. He said the steak was cold inside. He said it was like they had left it on the side (on a cold plate or something?) He didn’t finish it - which just tells you everything because he has never done that before. No one came to give our bill so we went to the front desk to pay. The host asked us how I meal was and I didn’t know how to say it because it’s awkward and then he pushed us to say what we thought so I said about the meal and he said he could have got us something else - but that wouldn’t have solved the problem because I don’t think it would have been any better - everything we ordered was bad. And that was it. It’s so sad because we have so many lovely memories from Fallen Angels but we will not return- we came when it was first Cenetta and didn’t enjoy the food then either (we were hoping it was just a blip!) Would have been a bit of a consolation to be at least offered some money off the bill or even a cocktail- just something! Really sad.

Can't recommend highly enough. I have visited before but first time experiencing the bottomless brunch. Absolutely amazing. The food beautiful and the best cocktails I have ever had. Will most definitely be back. I wish I had got the young waitresses name because she was so attentive and lovely. My cousins 60th birthday treat a great success. Thankyou

Took family out for pre xmas meal and was very disappointed in quality of foods and its presentation saying that garlic bread was good , lasagne served with a burnt base and black was evident when eating, children's food served with spills on side of dishes. Just because they are children doesn't mean presentation of food should be less than perfect . Really expensive for food that was not up too scratch dont mind paying for it if it is good but this meal wasn't. .

If you are looking for a venue that has atmosphere, great food and exceptio6service. You should look no further. We booked our company xmas do here and we're blown away by the quality of food.

The decor in this below ground cavern is worth the visit just for the marble figures. Great atmosphere, excellent food and professional service and care by the staff.

Used to go years ago when it was Fallen Angels but only been a couple of times since it's been Cenetta. I love the decor, it's cozy & feels like eating in a wine cellar but my husband hates it and says it's like a seedy basement! I had calamari which was a huge portion, cooked beautifully but I had to ask for some garlic mayo as it just had a lemon wedge! My friend had mussels which she enjoyed (creamy sauce which I'm not keen on). I had duck with pancetta, cherry & walnut (perfectly cooked, very tender) with a fondant potato which was OK (bit floury rather than waxy). My friend had tagliatelle topped with a salmon steak, again creamy sauce. She said it was very salty in patches & I tried 2 small flakes of the salmon & one was fine, one was very salty - nice though. We had a lush bottle of Primitivo, no room for pud but they looked nice. £50 each including 10%+ tip. The thing that really put me off was the staff banged the back of my chair every time they went past (and it wasn't a squeeze either) and as we were right in the middle opposite the kitchen pass it was upwards of 10 times. I should have said something after the 2nd time but it was 4 different staff members doing it.

Really stands out - amazing restaurant, fabulous food! I would highly recommend to everyone visiting Manchester to dine in your restaurant!

This restaurant is very nicely decorated. The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel very welcome and looked after. The cocktails are great, food is great. No complaints whatsoever, can’t wait to visit again!

The setting is stunning, an old church turned restaurant, beautiful. The food was lovely as always, we had the ravioli to start which was different and tasty, it helps that starter portions are a thing with the pasta/risotto section of the menu. I had a fillet steak for my main meal, it was cooked beautifully - I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Tiramisu for dessert topped the meal off. A lovely attentive team too!

I had bottomless brunch recently. The service and staff are lovely. It's ashame the food isn't as nice. I was very sick after my brunch. The cocktails were lovely and maybe I had too many?? I've never been so sick in a restaurant. I spoke to a nice gentleman who said he reviewed the CCT footage of us 4 family members at the table and said I was just drunk. I still believe that at 66 years of age my experience wasn't just about the drink. The food was no where near the quality expected of such a reputable restaurant. I must apologise to the staff who unfortunately had to clear up after me. I hope you are appreciated by your employers.

Easy to book online, great service and excellent food. The duck main course and Lamb rump was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. Loved every minute of it.

A local restaurant offering first class food in a comfortable and welcoming environment. The staff are attentive without fussing and the menu is exactly what one would expect from a place of this high quality, Courses were served in a timely manner and the food really was first class. Highly recommended and will definitely be going again.

We had never been before so didn’t know what to expect, however after only 30 minutes into our bottomless brunch we all decided that we would be back. The food was so nice and there was plenty of it, the staff were lovely and friendly, and the drinks included in bottomless brunch was a good range. Included in our brunch was a range of cocktails or spirits to chose from, for food there was a tower between 2 people which included a number of little bites and a pizza to share in which you could choose 2 toppings. The vegetarian alternatives were also very tasty! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be back for another brunch!

Steak was good as always. Paella had a weird taste to much chorizo I think couldn't eat it. Rest of the food was just ok.

Amazing restaurant, came with family for my Mothers birthday and everything was spot on. Very friendly serving staff and cannot fault the food, would definitely recommend the Chicken Crema! 10/10 will come again.

Me and the wife have been going here for our anniversary for years. Lovely hidden gem with good food and a beautiful bar.

The staff were great and the atmosphere was brilliant. We had the freedom to enjoy a birthday in the family with no interference. However that was where the praises end. The steak which I ordered rare you could throw like a frisbee, the chips were hard and dry, and the meatballs had the texture of sandpaper. If you are a kid and looking for a aesthetically pleasing restaurant, be rest assured that the money you spend is purely for the location, looks and alcohol and not the main attraction. Food 3/10 at best

Food outstanding, service shocking, cleanliness shocking, this I a restaurant we have been coming to for many year, and this Saturday was our first time of being disappointed!!

This was our first time visiting Cenetta and I would definitely recommend. The food was beautifully presented and you could tell that chef cares about what he produces. The food was full of flavour and really tasty and huge portions! You even got a bread basket when you sat down. The service was also incredible!! There were only 3 staff members on but you wouldn’t have been able to tell! You can tell they care about their job and the service they provide. They are a credit to the restaurant. The vibe of the place was lovely too, it doesn’t feel like you’re in the UK. Overall I’d highly recommend!

What a beautiful restaurant hidden at the side of a hotel. As you walk down the stairs and then see the bar area the centre piece is beautiful. The food is divine and team members are so welcoming and friendly makes the visit.

Had a lovely meal for father's day. Staff very helpful and no long waits between courses.

The serves was amazing especially Greg made us all laugh taking our order starter and main without writing it down and got everything correct even how the steaks were to be cooked and the serves in the restaurant was brilliant.

we were here on sleep & Dine Deal , Sad to have to say we felt let down with the food, especially the scallops out of 3 only one was warm ! The Waiter was very nice about it and were replaced, there were 3 chefs in kitchen that night none of whom looked very happy , the restaurant had only 3 tables with Diners in , we ate at 8.30pm . so our thoughts were food should be good when not busy. The rest was just ok no more ! i have used sleep & Dine for years this has been the worst visit, it will be the last time we dine in Cennetta when we return it will be in the Toby dining area . we had the supplement removed from my partners steak .

This restaurant prides itself on good service and outstanding food. With polite and attentive staff, If Italian food is your go to ? I would highly recommend this quirky and atmospheric restaurant. We had a lovely evening and will definitely return.

Not been for a while won't be going again. Scallops cold garlic bread not clever meatballs not Italian. Hubby said his lasagna was the dryest thing he's ever eaten I ordered fillet steak Rossini. Never had anything so bad It really shows there are no Italians in the kitchen food was not good and no love went into the poor effort called italian.wont visit again.

Great Service was there for a wake My pal's Dad 😢 so wasn't a party has such great food, staff very attentive to everyone's needs at this sad time.

Ten of us dined here last night. Two of us agreed that our food was terrible. Four or five of the others later admitted that theirs was also poor. The remainder said theirs' was 'all right'. Firstly - my wife's Cannelloni: 'Nduja, chorizo & mascarpone filled pasta tubes with piccolo pepper tomato sauce & Parmesan' appeared to have been finished with cream - neither mentioned in the menu nor ever in human experience used in cannelloni. The Spanish origin chorizo was also a bit puzzling in an Italian restaurant. My Wife ate a couple of mouthfuls and left the rest. Secondly - my Pork & beef meatball spaghetti: 'Pork & beef meatballs in a tomato & herb sauce'. Never have I ever tasted a tomato sauce in an Italian restaurant where the basis of the sauce was tomato ketchup! I had one taste of the spaghetti with ketchup and left the rest. The meatballs weren't very good, but I was hungry and they were the least terrible things on my plate so I did eat them. Told the waitress about the tomato ketchup-based sauce. She said she'd tell the chef, but he didn't appear at the table to discuss the matter. Neither did the manager. Two of us (at least) will never return.

We visited here as part of the sleep and dine experience at the Royal Toby hotel, the service was great and the food was delicious! loved the atmosphere and vibe in the restaurant, looking forward to visiting again. Special thanks to the staff for using latex free gloves, i have a severe latex allergy and was happy i could visit.

My husband and I visited Cenetta and the food and service were brilliant as usual. The staff are friendly but not in your face and the food is brought out without a long wait, but not to rush you. It tastes fantastic too. I had carbonara with chicken as it’s my absolute fave and better than the carbonara I had in Rome. We have been to Cenetta a few times before and have never had anything to complain about. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Food was amazing staff very nice, friendly great atmosphere even my 4 year old loved it shes a fussy eater but she loved the spaghetti bolognese and she was very proud of herself cause she told the waiter what she wanted and thankyou for getting down to her level and taking her order

No room for desserts but lovely coffees to finish. Staff were spot on with service very attentive… £180 for 4 with drinks great value . Always my favourite place to be.

My wife and I enjoyed an anniversary meal. We stayed at the Royal Toby with their stay and dine deal. We thought the three course meal was lovely, we couldn't fault the meal, and the staff were very nice and helpful. We would eat here again. The only bad part was the sleep at the hotel because the beds were extremely uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well at all.

We recently had a 3 course meal at Cenetta as part of a sleep and dine offer at The Royal Toby Hotel. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was so delicious. Overall we had an incredible meal for our anniversary and left so happy.

Situated underground to resemble a grotto, the food was superb, with the Ragu at least 24 hrs old allowing the flours to develop fully. Good selection of wines and knowledgeable staff.

Situated underground, giving the impression of a grotto the restaurant was very popular for a Tuesday with a steady flow of customers. Food was well presented and enjoyed. Noise levels were very good but might be loud in full.

We were staying at the adjacent hotel (The Royal Toby) and had a choice of 2 restaurants, the English one and this one, Cenetta. We certainly had no regrets, greeted by the manager, really good guy. However the real star was our waitress, Olivia, wow, what a superstar she was. Despite her young age, she had brilliant customer skills, great smile, super confident without being over the top. In my view, she could get a job in the service, especially, the hospitality industry in a heartbeat. I’d love to see her in restaurants where we live on the Kent Coast in Whitstable

Have been coming to Cenetta for years but last night was my first time eating there since being diagnosed Coeliac. The waiter ran through the menu with me and let me know they did have GF pizza bases/pasta available and that the sauces with the steaks were all GF as well. They also brought me a GF roll whilst the rest of my family ate the normal bread basket, which i felt a really nice touch. Me and hubby shared the chateaubriand which was absolutely delicious. The kids as always enjoyed making their own pizzas

Very busy but a bit under staffed had to get our own drinks, starters ok for everyone, but mains were just OK. My wife's fish was a single piece (not much for £20) and the vegetables were not al dente they were hard. My rib eye steak was perfectly cooked but had not been tenderised and was tough and a 3rd uneatable, the grilled tomatoes were nice. The ice cream I ordered was Pistachio but to be honest it had very little taste but they don't make the ice cream and I have tasted better. Overall ok but overpriced for what we received lovely atmosphere and environment but probably won't go back to 🤨

My autistic son was served raw pink chicken we told a member of staff immediately (luke) the way they handled the situation was disgusting we asked for the manager who was a blonde lady was also rude and arrogant we left immediately and will never return. Avoid avoid avoid !

Lovely place nice staff. Let down a bit by the tomato soup which tasted like a tin of tomatoes with added Basil. Garlic bread was a little thin which caused it to go dry and go cold very quickly. Steak was excellent but then again it should be for £29.50. It's not as good as it used to be, unfortunately .

Recommend the place to anyone. Food delicious and staff so attentive. I needed an envelope and quickly was brought one. .

Canetta was a total let down starter mussels were ok main Surf and Turf was a poor and pathetic attempt of a meal 2 very small rubbery overcooked small king prawns with a miniature steak and sad presentation of potatoes beef burger and a fish...

Just had dinner here on my lonesome. Gotta say some of the best food I’ve had at any restaurant for a while. Staff were Friendly, service was good and food was fresh. I had the Meatball Starter and Filler Flambe. Very nice indeed… I’m not local but would make the effort to visit again sometime.

We ce here for our uncles birthday food was nice, staff was friendly. But we had to keep asking to clear the table before other food came out. It was busy so maybe they need more staff.
