The staff are very attentive, the food is presented innovately and delicious. Please don’t go as we cannot book a table.it’s the most fab restaurant we have been to for the food and the staff. Book well in advance as no chance nearer your date.

We've been here twice before and had a lovely time. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case on Friday night and it's left us thinking we won't be back. I booked the table for a pre-theatre meal. Theatre starts at 1930 so I left a note on the reservation "need to be finished around 1915", the intention of the note was to give the staff the heads up that we'll possibly need more prompt service. I received no call or messages following the reservation request that this wouldn't be possible or would lead to menu restrictions so assumed all is well. We arrived and 15 minutes after arrival (still giving us 60 minutes) the waitress came to take our order. She told us we only had the table until 1900 and then said to my husband he couldn't order anything but pasta off the menu because it would take too long. We were really taken aback and said that the reservation was actually until 8pm as per the email confirmation but I had put a note on - thinking I was being helpful - that we'll need to leave before then. The waitress spoke to the kitchen and they confirmed that we could order what we wanted and this would be served to us in time which I was grateful for. What was frustrating is, it was obvious an accidental communication issue which turned into the staff becoming argumentative with us and even bringing the booking laptop over to prove that I had written a note and basically, it was my fault and they'd booked another table in for 1930. How long does it take to clear a table of 4? 15-30 minutes apparently... the situation wasn't dealt with in a professional way and instead we were left like we had done something wrong and felt incredibly unwelcome. The kitchen staff did a fantastic job and got our orders out really quickly but we had poor service from waiting staff after this initial conversation who either ignored us or made awkward, grimacing faces towards us when we asked for a drink or had our plates cleared. We did finish our meal in time for the theatre and their next table. We had left by the predicted 1915 but for having to book so far in advance, have average food and made to feel unwelcome we don't think this is a local business we will support in the future which is such a shame.

Best Italian food I have ever had, would recommend for any ccasions. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic, I will definitely come back! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. It is rustic and cozy and has magnificent decorations. The staff are super welcoming and friendly. If you are in Warwickshire, you should definitely give it a try!

Booking online is very simple. We enjoyed the linguine, seafood and special chicken dish for this month. Just the roast potatoes were too salty also no mocktails. Thursday night is very busy there and only allow 2 hours per table so you may find a bit noisy.

The food was very nice, I tried the prawn and asparagus risotto, a Margherita pizza and the special of the day: salmon in pink pepper sauce. Everything tasted very nice and fresh. The service was outstanding and always looking after us. The only recommendation for improvement is around the desserts. We had the sticky toffee pudding, the tiramisu and others. We couldn't finish them as they were too heavy on the cream and sugar.

Pasta poor compared to other Italian restaurants ie in Leamington. Service so rushed seemed couldn’t wait to get us out of there even putting bill on the table whilst drinking our cup of tea. Would not go back

The food was good. The whole staff was friendly. I appreciated Jess’ service, as they’ve advised that what I ordered contained meat I do not consume, due to religious beliefs. Jess was very polite in warning me and was able to tell the chef to replace with something else, keeping in mind I already paid, which is uncommon in other restaurants!

I’ve only been here twice and the first time was incredible. Maybe depends on what chef you get but last night wasn’t great. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff and great but seemed a little stressed last night. I’m Sicilian and have had a restaurant in central London so maybe I’m a tad critical. Steak was asked for as rare - arrived medium. (Didn’t want to complain) Pizza was great. Carbonara - split sauce. Desserts had were tiramisu (mediocre) They have cannoli but it’s shop bought from somewhere else. Pannecote was lovely.

Absolutely perfect! We love this gorgeous little restaurant, the food is simply wonderful, the best Italian dishes I have ever tasted. We thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and ambience, it’s a friendly buzzy little spot with such a good energy. All the staff are super friendly and attentive with excellent knowledge of the menu and wines, along with excellent pronunciation! We cannot fault this absolute gem of a restaurant and it’s definitely our favourite.

When you go travelling and happen across a local restaurant and pop in to find a hidden gem of a place that just delivers amazing food, it’s the best feeling. Like you’ve found something nobody else knows about (even though they clearly do!). This is Dolce Tavola, amazing food, great atmosphere and good service at a reasonable price. A must for a pop in meal or a family dinner out, simply excellent.

We are repeat customers at La Dolce Tavola and yet again enjoyed the warm and inviting atmosphere on this occasion for a Birthday celebration. Following excellent starters (BBQ Wings were fantastic) and main courses the Birthday girl had a chorus of Happy Birthday from the waitresses which was a nice touch and rounded off the evening well. The staff are friendly and do not rush you with orders but also time it well so you are not waiting for service. We cannot speak highly enough of La Dolce Tavola and top marks all round.

This is a truly amazing Italian Restaurant! The food is to die for, served hot and fresh, in good sized portions. Really good value for money, and all topped of by a team of friendly and helpful staff. We had a fab time here for a family birthday celebration, and will definitely return because there are plenty more dishes we want to try!

Wow. I am absolutely blown away by this little gem. The food was fantastic, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the waiters and waitresses were incredibly helpful and very attentive. Exceptional value, and every course we had exceeded expectations massively. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is very busy, especially on the weekend. While small, I love the feel of it. The view to the kitchen, the busy, bustling atmosphere, the decor and most importantly, the food! ⭐️

Wonderful food and great service for my husbands 50th birthday! We were a large party of 20 and everyone was served at the same time and all the food was delicious and piping hot. So huge congratulations to the chefs and the serving staff for achieving this that many restaurants would find difficult. We had guests from all over the country and everyone said that your food was the best that they had tasted in a very long time! You all deserve ever success and great reviews that you get.

This is a really nice and accessible Italian restaurant. The food is delicious with very generous portions! The staff are great and very friendly and knowledgeable, from the younger members upwards. Although there is a step to access a ramp is provided as you appear at the door, no waiting around, and all staff appear to be trained in its usage. Access inside is great with an accessible toilet situated at the rear of the restaurant. Our third visit so far with no complaints. Parking is easy with a pay and display very close. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a lovely restaurant and we have now had several special meals there. The food, service and lovely buzzy atmosphere makes it a smashing place to celebrate. All round excellent

Visit here a few times a year as the food, service and just everything is lovely. Would definitely recommend but if you want a weekend night they book up well in advance so you do usually need to plan your visit.

This is my favourite restaurant in Rugby. I had a bruscheta starter, a risotto main, a tiramisu for dessert, a coffee and a flute of prosecco for less than £35. The waitress who served me was excellent, both friendly and efficient. I will definitely be going back. My only drawback was that there was another waitress who was quite rude to customers and chastised them.

Another visit to La Dolce, this time for my birthday. Really looking forward to the food, the service and the atmosphere and was not disappointed on any count. We think it's the top place to eat in Rugby for our sort of tastes and we will be back again. The staff are so attentive, and they must have overheard a call from my "loud" Canadian cousins singing "Happy Birthday" over a Whatsapp. When I had my pud (I rarely do) I was greated with a candle in it and a staff rendition of Happy B... (they were better). Many people clapped away and thats what makes the atmosphere so good. A Lovely early evening meal. We did splash out a bit as it was my birthday (did I mention my birthday?), but the prices are really good - Thank you LDT :0) Advice - Book early on or well in advance.

This lovely authentic Italian restaurant deserves to be as full as it was when i ate there. Fantastic and varied menu. Our starters - carpaccio, insalata tricolore and rice balls were outstsnding. My husbands cotoletto milanese was delicious, my spaghetti was a very large portion which i couldnt finish. It was delicious too but would rather a smaller pasta portion and pay less- the portion size was more like an American sized portion. Our dessert unfortunately was not cooked properly- panna cotta - delicious taste but texture was all wrong - as we reached the bottom of the glass we realised why- all the gelatine was stuck in a layer at the bottom. Such a shame. Also in a completely full restaurant it would be good if staff would be mindful that there is no need for disco beat music in the background. Either some relaxing classical or easy jazz would be more relaxing. Or nothing. On the strength of the starters would rate this place highly and definitely go again with a better idea of what to order. Highly recommended.

Food was lovely and hot , we were a party of 11 booked in for 7.45 . We were asked to leave at 10 as they wanted to clean up and close ! Very disappointed, felt the waitresses shouted at us to pass plates, glasses etc . Not my best experience!!

Me and my husband came here for lunch on Saturday. He had the steak and I had the swordfish parmigiana special of the month. Food was absolutely delicious. However, later in the day I had to visit out of hours GP because my stomach started to hurt so much and turns out I had food poisoning v disappointed by this place 😔 needless to say we won’t be coming back Please make sure you’re storing food in the right conditions and that food is prepared in a hygienic way Update: (I can’t reply to your answer so updating the initial post) Thank you for taking this seriously. This restaurant is fabulous for a relaxed evening meal. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. We were there for our wedding anniversary and had a really wonderful time. A special shout out to the staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Can’t recommend it enough.

So disappointed that i have to be writing this review, was looking forward to lunch , the doors don't open till 12 , so fair enough we waited , we sat outside in a nice covered area . Once the restaurant was opened ( we had to find out for ourselves) was greeted by a pleasant lady at the bar who informed us that someone will be out with menus , well myself and daughter waited and waited , still no drinks order taken and plenty of staff around one even sat with a fag and a drink 🙄 we gave it at least 15 minutes till we decided enough was enough and left , with a loss of a 10 deposit.

Fabuloso Fabulous food and great staff

I came here Friday 5pm with my partner and my 8 month year old daughter and wow what a place. My pasta dish was amazing. Cheesy garlic bread was something from heaven. The chef on the open gantry was spectacular he made sure I received top notch service. He also saw me cleaning up my daughters mess she had throw on the floor in 0.5 seconds a young man came to help me. I'm telling you now these guys greeted me with a smile and I'd love to come back again I really hope this business goes further because these guys are amazing at what they do. A MASSIVE thank you from me.

Visited with friends. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. They don’t add a service charge, which is refreshing! The deposit system is a bit annoying though. But I do understand it too as it is a small venue so a ‘no show’ would be costly for them.

It's okay for lunch. Nothing special. Salad good. Meatballs at near 14 quid mean with only 4X included and minimal sauce too. Pizza large and great value and very fresh. Quiet in there but two staff serving one elderly lady pushing her in checking back on every detail, bringing her cushions ..so guess she is a regular and tips well?!.. whereas we got no checkback during our meal and nobody looked over, had to beg for a sprinkle of cheese as not offered or were we approached to see if I wanted more drinks.. which I did. So the bill was paid without a tip as service and meatballs which I think were pork, not veal, could have been better. I would go back for an evening meal and try again with starters mains drinks and another couple maybe spending around 200, so I will reserve judgement for now on the whole package and rate 3/5 in anticipation of a 5/5 to hopefully follow soon.

Read and heard great things about this restaurant and was not disappointed. A very enjoyable meal with great service and a lovely warm atmosphere. The portion sizes were excellent and each dish was super tasty. It was full on a Tuesday evening and by all accounts, it is like that each evening. So it's doing something right. Bad service, no welcome, after checking reservation name said "we are very busy, just order at the bar,' . When food came, lasagne was too salty (obviously this is subjective to taste) but was served on a cold plate and was barely warm in the middle. Did not eat. No one checked the table (too busy i guess). Ordinary and overpriced based on this experience.

Being an Italian restaurant in Rugby must not be easy. But La dolce tavola is certainly not a bad one. Service is very very good and the ambiance is very nice without being tacky. Unfortunately the food is so so and there are other problems. We had a charcuterie board with cheese and it was extremely good with plenty of food for 3 or 4 people. Next we had penne with mushrooms and lasagna. While the lasagna was delicious and abundant, the penne were overcooked with hard and chewy onions that spoiled the dish quite badly. The selection of wines is adequate and they have very unusual choices like Nero d’avola which is a fav of mine, so good on that end! The real issue is the prices, we spent more than 80 quid for two people, which compared to the quality of the food is quite a lot and for a bottle of wine that one would struggle to pay more than 4 quid in a supermarket. This would be a good Italian restaurant at 20 quid per person not double that. The chef I am told is Italian but no Italian chef would serve such overcooked pasta or mix chicken and pasta in their recipes… in 2 dishes on the menu… so something is off there. As said it is certainly not a bad place and it was a very pleasant evening given the over nice staff who are very relaxed and available so try it perhaps avoiding the over complicated dishes with chicken and pasta. :)

You can understand why you need to book well in advance, there is a lovely traditional Italian atmosphere, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and as for the food it is absolutely wonderful , save room for the banoffee pie !!! Can’t wait till we come up to Rugby again
