Great food and service. Disappointed to be chased of the table despite the restaurant texting to ask us to arrive 15 minutes later they did not add this 15 minutes to the end. Felt rushed and unable to finish off with a coffee. This spoilt what had been a lovely evening.

Smiles from all the Staff awaits you when walking into La Dolce Tavola, Happy to serve you drinks, to look at the main course, Flat bread with cheese and Garlic to share, tasty large smoked Salmon, Prawns & avocado salad, Puddings /Sweets Gateau's Tiramiso, Panna Cotta. Lots to choose from. The authentic Italian Restraunt / Bistro to come to Rugby.

We called 3x times to make the reservation and to confirm earliest a table could be available. They insisted it was 21:15. Asked if this could be improved on however they denied so we hung around neighbouring bars. We then arrived slightly late to the restaurant, at 21:23, and we were greeted by a lady who, without hesitation, said “you’re late and the kitchen closes in 7 minutes”. To throw insult to injury, the restaurant was quite empty and for sure we could have arrived earlier. There is no detail on the booking about a kitchen closing time, which is clearly a sensitive topic for the restaurant so they feel the need to rush patrons into ordering before we’ve even sat down. The food and wine was a further let down to the experience. Some positives - the manager and other lady serving the table were nicer. Won’t be back.

The Restaurant was a delightful place to be on Boxing Day. Extremely well decorated for the Season and full of cheer. The food as ever was excellent. Looking forward to coming again in the New Year .... What better recommendation than that.......

Beautiful food, but rushed service, as our Christmas party only had a two hour slot. The waitress took a drink order ten minutes before we had to leave and then told everyone to drink up...

Excellent lunch with lovely, attentive service.

Visited twice in 6 days! Yesterday was probably my 5th time since May 2024, first time was a treat for my birthday. Choice of food and quality make it my favourite place to go in Rugby. Staff are wonderful too. The only downside was yesterday, when having booked a table on the outskirt of the restaurant (hoping it would be less noisy as I have hearing difficulties - and it was!) next but one table to the entrance proved rather draughty, I felt sorry for the couple nearer the door than we were, no-one seemed to bother to ensure the door was closed behind them! Perhaps erection of glass or perspex on the trellis panel by the door would help alleviate the problem in the future. Otherwise, thoroughly recommend the Restaurant!

This is the first time I have actually been disappointed here, the staff were different, young but spoke to me in a patronising manner, calling me “my love” not great to an older lady. Also I was charged an extra £1 for a slice of lemon in my tap water? Never have been before, when I questioned it on my bill, the young girl was quite rude!! , I eat here on a regular basis, but won’t tolerate bad service,

Tried for the first time and I should say that the flavours are excellent! They do adapt dishes to vegetarians/vegans, you need to enquire when you order. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is warm.

4 of us went Very busy to many tables crammed together can't hear each other properly when talking the waitress was very poor no manners seems she is not good for the hospitality forgot to bring water never came & see if the food was OK very disappointing food was warm pizza was a base with tomato paste spreaded ham thrown on with salad baby tomatoes that was supposed to be a Italian pizza shocks me very expensive for the service & waiting for basic food could buy on the street outlets in countries abroad NOT RETURNING TO THIS RIP OFF RESTAURANT

We were served very quickly in the restaurant by Justyna who was very helpful, friendly and pleasant.

I’ve been a few times and have always enjoyed the food & service unfortunately tonight one of our party of 4 couldn’t make it as she was sick I couldn’t believe that the policy is to still keep the £5 deposit I thought it was a bit petty and money grabbing it’s obvious with the size of the table it was a 2/3/4 person table so it wasn’t a case of loosing customers … the waitress didn’t care at all and her attitude was completely wrong and was happy for me to communicate my experience

Food and service excellent. Parking can be tricky. Need to book well in advance in order to eat at a time that suits you. Tables to vacated by a particular time, i.e. 1 HR 45 mins, which is not long enough if you have a largish group and want to take your time choosing, eating, drinking and socialising. Otherwise great food and great service.

Super nice food, good prices and a warm atmosphere - very friendly staff and lovely service from Keira! - definitely worth a visit!

Booked table for 2 people 2 months in advance for a 70th birthday meal and paid the £10 deposit they ask for. Arrived to be told the only table was the one alongside of the door because they had a table of 20 coming. The only 'protection' was an open ironwork gate panel giving no protection at all. They obviously knew there's a problem sitting there as they said we could have a fan heater on blowing warm air in your face and hair. Being regular customers always spending around £100 on the meal and wine we expect to eat in comfort and not be blasted by hot air and cold blasts from the constantly opening door so we had to leave. Very disappointed.

Delicious lunch at a very reasonable price for quality and portions. It was nice to be able to take a slice of cheesecake home as we were stuffed!

A lovely evening with a group of friends. Food was great... the pre-order had been sent it with the names of the person ordering the dish (as requested) just a little annoying that the waitress just stood at the head of the table shouting out the name of the dish with no reference to the list of names provided !!.. It could have been far simpler for her to refer to the list before the dishes were brought to the table otherwise why did they want the names !!!

We had an absolutely fabulous meal from the Christmas menu. The service was brilliant. We were greeted with warm welcomes and friendly smiles. The atmosphere was happy, relaxed and comfortable. We can't rate La Dolce Tavola high enough. Thank you for a great experience.

I'd wanted to come here since it opened. I booked far in advance for my husband's birthday and was not disappointed. A special meal...great, good humoured service in evocative surroundings and very good value. Looking forward to returning.

What a fantastic and traditional Italian experience. A real find of a restaurant offering an extensive menu, friendly and knowledgeable staff with a cracking atmosphere to match. Special mention to Anita (our waitress) who made our night with great recommendations that looked as good as they tasted. I’m planning to go back soon and would highly recommend.

Lovely welcome & atmosphere.. but the food is average. One of our party ordered the squid.. whilst it looked impressive it was tasteless.. all they could taste was salt.. The main pasta dishes again looked impressive in the big bowls but had a very small amount of meat in them.

Excellent food, served quickly and of a high standard. Portion sizes were massive and value was great. The service was excellent, helpful, positive and attentive. Really would recommend. Was quite busy when we visited but still seated, served and fed quickly - you would have thought there were less people in the restaurant!

What has happened to this restaurant? Have been to this restaurant many times and the food was excellent. However on the 19/11/24 it was very disappointing. The Bruschetta was soggy and the main course vegetables were mushy and appeared to be over cooked. Meal was warm on the surface and tepid at the base.

We had a fantastic meal last night…shared the calamari starter then had the delicious gamberoni main. Our waitress was just delightful! Look forward to next visit!

Excellent quality and service on a busy night

It came highly recommended and we had friends visiting so thought we would try it. It was really lovely, cosy and authentic. The menu was excellent and we couldn’t decide what to go for. We chose a sharing platter and everything on it was hot, fresh and delicious. Our mains were all piping hot and tasty and big portions, we all struggled to finish. My friend is pregnant and they offered a grated mozzarella for my friend’s dish as they advised the Parmesan wasn’t pasteurised. We were all so full but couldn’t resist the deserts, so we shared a couple. Again my friend was advised on what she could have. It was a really excellent meal and great service and we were pleasantly surprised with the prices. Will definitely be back.

Food was fantastic. Portion were huge. A really good night had by all. My only critism would be that the table allocated for people was a little small and didn't leave much room for drink and side dishes once the mains arrived.

Starters were great but the main course was poor. Carbonara was lacking in flavour and had not been made well so split. Pork cutlet was dry and needed a sauce. Service was good and friendly. Such a shame as the starters were lovely. Calamari and Bruschetta we very nice. Did not try desert

It's rare that you see a place that fully deserves a full five stars. With all the little touches La Dolce Tavola put in, I can see why it's full every time they open.

Fabulous place to eat - staff are so friendly and at efficient - we knew we only had the table for 2 hours and it worked really well - the food came out nice and hot and everyone was serviced at the same time so there was no waiting around - strongly recommend

Everything is delicious, it must be the best Italian restaurant in the town.

The restaurant seemed clean and tidy, with nice decoration, the food was nice and well presented, my issue is more with the meet and greet aspect, arriving a few minutes early for lunch, opening the door to be told were not open yet come back later we found to be a little abrasive when the lights where on, the door unlocked and open - perhaps a "so sorry were not quote open would you be ok to wait a few minutes" would have been a better way to have been welcomed. At the end of the meal, we where given the bill which i duly paid, however there was no goodbye no thank you or even a see you again soon. Perhaps I am old fashioned but I would really have expected much more from an independent, I will say the food was deliciously prepared and presented and well priced, perhaps a bit more attention to customer service in future.

As always, we had another great evening here with friends. The food was delicious, great service and a buzzing atmosphere.

Lived up the great reviews - food was excellent and service was to match. Prices were very reasonable too. Areas for the restaurant to improve on would be the lighting - too bright in here and not the place for a romantic meal. The deposit of £10 to book a table was also very unwelcome - we eat out all the time and never see this elsewhere!

The food was ok, but everything was very rushed and it felt like the staff couldn’t wait to get us out. Table of ten and we were out in just over an hour and 20 mins. The waitress was unfriendly and everything felt like a bother. It is not what I expected and felt really disappointed

My heart sank when I saw the clingfilm being placed over what was our food. I’m a chef and was so looking forward to some lovely Italian comfort food, what arrived was more like Little Chef. We both ordered pasta bowls with some protein and vegetables; what arrived was pre cooked pasta with garnish and protein (his prawn mine beef), the served bowls were nuclear hot (microwaved) the protein was tough and the whole dish was wet. I wanted delicious sticky sauce, tender beef, soft prawns with flavour but what we got was boiled in a microwave the whole dish being so wet, washed away the flavour. Chefs! serve this dish to yourselves and tell me it’s how you’d like to eat it - doubt it, it’s microwave pub food and you are offering better than that on your menu, and it’s untrue. Make me come back with some great Italian food!!

We had a delicious meal here today for our wedding anniversary .Great friendly service by Nichola .we have already booked to go again for my birthday .we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend .La Dolce Tavola .!!
