The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We walked along the canal with the dogs and called in for a couple of drinks in the beer garden. We ended up ordering a late afternoon pizza each, which I can honestly say is the best pizza I've ever eaten in the UK, and it reminded me of the authentic pizza my daughter and I had when we were in Brindisa, Italy. We're definitely going for lunch soon.

Visited for the 1st time on a Saturday evening. Was very busy but the service was still excellent. I have a chicken dish, which if anything was too large!! but really nice. My son had a calzone which again was really good. Value for money was excellent considering the city centre location and will visit again when next in Sheffield.

Wonderful atmosphere. Warm and friendly and the food is the best we’ve had since moving to Horsham a few months ago. Highly recommended - it felt , with the lovely weather, like we were eating abroad. Just lovely

When all the reviews were five star we were so excited I called to check when the kitchen closed to make sure we got there with plenty of time the kitchen closed at 10 and we arrived at 9. We ordered straight away just garlic bread and some cokes, the restaurant was quite empty only 2 other tables after we finished our food a young man came over and said ‘r u done with that’ which my sister said no he took my plate and said ‘u ready for your mains yet’ very passive aggressive. The whole time we were sat around 4 staff were all stood at the bar snickering, looking at us, and laughing. When our food came the young man aggressively put down the plates and gave us very little Parmesan - Ik it sounds petty but he was very passive aggressive and short with me and my sister for the whole evening. The food was plain and untasteful we literally ordered meatballs and pasta I don’t know why it tasted like nothing. We barely ate any of it and I asked for a takeaway tub when the lady picked up our plates a knife full of tomatoe sauce fell on my sister white top and it fell towards her face. The woman was reasonable and went to go and get a wet cloth, offered to foot the dry cleaning bill. When she returned my sister had left obviously very frustrated and she had brought back a lemon hand wipe 😂. I payed the bill and left. Honestly I have never written a bad review on anywhere because I understand not everyone has the same ideals as me and have other things going on. In my eyes what started off as a kind gesture of taking my sister out for a meal turned into a waste of time money and food. I payed £50 for not the best food a stained top and to be made like we were being rushed out of the door due to being the last customers. I always try to be reasonable but it was honestly the worst service experience

Whenever we fancy Italian this is our go-to. It takes us 20/30 mins as we drive from Medway to Maidstone but we’d drive further if we had to. Service is always great, old school Italian, no rush and nothing is ever a problem. All dishes are great but the pasta and berry panna cotta have my heart (even better when home grown redcurrants are in season) - buonissimo! 🤤

Best meal I've had locally. Every course was superb. The starter of scallops melted in the mouth. The main course of lamb was just the best lamb I've had in a restaurant. The Lemon tart sweet was wonderful. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

Amazing food and good pizzas and the staff were so nice. Definitely will come again with more people. And now I am just saying words to get past the min charicters.

A very nice Italian restaurant in Balham. Pizzas are very good and they also have the best gluten-free pizza dough I've tried so far in London. Service is good and efficient. The world needs more places like this.

This place used to be lovely but the last couple of years it has gone downhill. Mediocre food made with cheap ingredients and has no depth of flavour. Small portions for the price. No interaction from the staff and microwaves constantly beeping from the kitchen. Will go elsewhere from now on.
