I love your food, it's the best in the area. I really really miss your pistachiosa pizza. Please bring it back for the people who love it. It was my favourite and I'm a little bit heartbroken it's not on the menu. Thank you, your #1 pisatchiosa-lover

Yes an all round pretty good evening was enjoyed. The pizza was huge. One of our parties found overly hot and uncomfortable.

This place is so good. We started with the melanzane parmigiana - omg it's good, especially the spices and sauce. We then had a lamb pasta, a pizza, and the spinach and broccoli. All were executed perfectly. The staff are all helpful, friendly, and have a good sense of humour. The pizza crust is so much better in person than when we've ordered take away from here. Wine selection by the glass was better than typical, too

An exceptional experience The first courses are of the highest level, the pizza has a flavor and quality that I will not easily forget, the starters are unforgettable, the waiters have a kindness and courtesy that is not easily found. We had a wonderful evening - it's been a while since we've been out for a meal where we didn't find something to be disappointed about so tonight was a real pleasure. Generous, fresh portions - everything was just right. I would definitely recommend the calamari fritti and scoglio pasta! The staff were really lovely - friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Thank you to Daniele, David and Carola for your great service. We'll definitely be back!

Came to Caminata for the first time last Friday and I must say, the food and service was brilliant. David was my waiter and he was extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a lovely meal at Caminata tonight! Our waiter was excellent - the service was efficient and friendly. We got the burrata as a starter to share - but we were pretty underwhelmed by the bread it came with. It was meant to be with ‘grilled bread’ - but was just 2 very small dry crusts of bread for one burrata. Otherwise, our mains were great and perfect portion sizes. We will be back 😊

We've been regulars at Caminata for over three years now and every time it consistently meets our expectations. As an Italian living in London for the last 13 years, I will say that it's my favourite pizza place and they make a Roman style base that's to die for. Of course there are many other worthwhile pizzeria all over London, but Caminata is my happy place. Do not miss out on the Carbonara pizza, which is the absolute best! Pasta and other main courses are also very delicious and so are the desserts. In a nutshell, you can't go wrong. To accompany this delicious food is very attentive and friendly staff, some of which have been working there for a very long time, helping to build a very family and cosy vibe. I love Caminata come rain or shine and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any Italian food enthusiasts! Grazie ragazzi!!!!! Xxx

Me and mum had spent the day at Wimbledon and were staying just up the road, we had been to this restaurant about 4 years ago so we’re so pleased it was still there. The staff were lovely and accommodating as we hadn’t booked, the food was amazing just as we remembered would definitely recommend xx

There’s not many places where you can enjoy a dinner in the pouring rain, but Caminata is one of them. The food is always on point, but the service is what makes this place a local favourite. Giuseppe made sure that we had the best time, even sat outside on a rainy July evening. We cannot thank him enough for making our Friday night!

We were recommended to come here by a friend. The restaurant is slightly hidden, in a fairly peaceful location, at the edge of a more residential area, just at the end of the "high street". The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty cool and welcoming and you can sit outside as well, which we did. The staff was super welcoming, kind and polite. They helped with recommendations and were flexible when it came to swapping toppings on the pizza. We ordered a starter and two mains. The starter was a burrata (£11) which was pretty pricey, especially considering the size with a very limited amount of bread and tomatoes on the side but it was not a big issue. The two mains we ordered was a pizza & pasta. The pizza was lovely, the sauce tasted good, and the size was decent. The dough was actually pretty good too. The pasta portion was also all right, it was certainly fresh and nice, but the flavour could have been a bit more exciting. The presentation was also nice. The overall experience was good, but I felt like the food could have been just a tiny bit better for the price. The restaurant also has a takeaway menu with fairly reasonably priced options (£7/portions) which sounds great but it is strictly takeaway. I would consider coming back overall and maybe try something else.

I am extremely cautious about eating Italian food in London. The prices are crazy and the anglicisation frustrating. Here felt like the real deal. Pizza as I enjoy- thin and soft centre with a doughy but light crust topped with quality tasting cheese and tomato. The seafood pasta was generously portioned and sublime tasting. I felt I truly understood what al dente should be for the first time. Great neighbourhood restaurant with friendly service. Can’t wait to revisit.

This is the perfect place for a meal out. We went for a date night, and Giuseppe was so kind, welcoming and sweet. The food was nothing short of fantastic and the vibe was authentic and cosy. We can’t wait to return. The prices are also super reasonable.

My boyfriend and I had dinner on Friday evening up at the counter (my fav spot!) and it was sublime as ever, made all the more charming by the lovely Giuseppe who served us!!! Caprese and bruschetta to start with, and the ragu for both of us with a lovely bottle of Chianti. Delicious. A fav spot in Balham to which I’ve gone to many times and have never been disappointed.

We took three young children here one Saturday afternoon and had excellent service. The food was genuine Italian and with generous portions. The antipasta platter was particularly good. They dealt with the family really well.

We had a fantastic take away on this occasion, having eaten in a couple of times before. The pizzas are really delicious and a generous size - where else can you get a great margarita pizza for £7.50?! We had a couple of pasta dishes too, the ragu spaghetti was incredible. This is the best Italian in Balham and the staff are really lovely too.

Went to Caminata for dinner last Thursday and had an amazing experience. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. It was not too greasy, nor heavy, and tasted fresh. I would come back again to try different pasta and pizza options.

Lovely decor and friendly staff. Quick service and nice menu! Food was nice, it wasn’t the best Italian food I’ve had so would give a 4/5 but it was good.

Pizza has gone downhill Burata pizza. Where is the actual burata? Total rip off, with dribbled burata milk / water (see photos) Shameful --------------- Hard and dry flavourless crust, wet, limp and soggy base. More like whole-wheat than sourdough. Used to be a good pizza, but a bunch of us went recently and we all commented at how it had changed. I won't be recommending it anymore, unfortunately.

I booked for 10 people for my birthday . The dinner went smoothly and food was great but they definitely need to improve their service. After we had the cake Giuseppe came to the table with the bill saying that they have another table booked at 9pm ( waiting outside ) . This ruined the atmosphere as he was pushing me to leave the table . I didn't even had the time to look through the bill as he was waiting with The card machine looking at me . Apparently they give 2 hours slot but this hasn't been communicated to me when I booked in fact I thought I could stay a bit longer and not be thrown out ! On top they added 12% service charge without me knowing ( restaurant should always state that when you book) and when I mentioned to Giuseppe that I wasn't happy to pay the full service charge he basically forced me to pay it!Which is against the law!!! Sorry I never leave feedback but this experience left me very unsatisfied!

The best pasta in SW London. I live up the road and nip in all the time for takeaway pizza and pasta on the way home, and have taken lots of friends here for a sit down meal as well. The whole menu is brilliant, service is friendly, and it has a great atmosphere. Would 100% recommend, it’s a highlight restaurant for the area and is worth travelling for if you aren’t a local.

6/10 Quite good pizza. Price was fair to slightly over expensive. Location: nice area, parallel to the busy high street. Service: one waiter was a bit pushy with upselling drinks which slightly soured the experience, the rest were very attentive and friendly. Caprino pizza 6.5/10 Porchetto pizza 6/10 £33.60 for two people, no drinks.

I’ve travelled a lot around the world. This is one of the best experiences i have ever encountered - it was not jus a meal. The food was splendid.

Honestly wonderful. Ive walked by this place many times and not prioritised so dont make that mistake. It is great food, with top hospitality service and great prices. We have been to highly rated places that were disappointing and Caminata is far from that. Home cooked food and great flavours with no pretentiousness. Giuseppe, Nico and Carola were top at service so bottom line you should visit this place. Loved it all. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

This place is the real deal - an actual hidden gem 💎 Booked about two weeks in advance for a 7pm dinner and I’m glad we did - the restaurant was completely full by 7:30. Service was amazing - attentive but not over bearing, friendly but not annoying. Drinks are well priced and quick to come out, the food options are varied and really well priced. We had olives and truffle burrata and a bottle of wine to start, shared a pasta and pizza for the main, and had cocktails and tiramisu for the dessert. Came to about £120 including tip for about two hours in the restaurant. Fantastic evening and will definitely be returning!

As per the title. Sadly had to give up gluten a few years back and I’ve been searching for decent gluten free pizza ever since. Caminata’s is something else. Do they buy in it? Do they make it? Who knows but it’s ridiculously good.

We came across this place through Balham Newsie on Instagram and as local residents, it didn’t disappoint! Food was incredibly yummy and fresh and service was 10/10! Decorated lovely inside giving off holiday vibes! We have booked to come back!
