This cute Italian restaurant delivers amazing dishes with generous portions. The friendly service adds to the cozy ambiance, although tables are a tad snug, nevertheless, it's a minor quibble in an otherwise delightful dining experience.

Really enjoyable date night. Thank you for making it tasty and having such good customer attention. Its busy guys so book in advance!

Beautiful dinner here this evening. Gorgeous food with a range of Italian cuisine not always found in other more generic restaurants. Very attentive service, excellent, highly recommended.

Had a laughably awful meal here last night including being told to stand on the street for five minutes because they weren’t ready, a waiter repeatedly kicking my husband’s chair and an overcooked piece of fish that was almost inedible. Never again.

Ordered takeaway, received the wrong dish and the correct ones were of very poor quality and were thrown in the bin. The food is too hit and miss depending on who is working. No resolution or apology was given on my lengthy phone call with them. Appalling. Used to be good.

Had a lovely meal with friends there yesterday. They managed to accommodate an extra 4 of us at short notice. The food was excellent and good value, 12 empty plates tells its own story. Nice staff and ambience. Would recommend.

Came for Valentines and this may have detracted from their usual standards but it appeared they had far too many covers than they could handle, with the waiting staff rushed off their feet. It took a while for several couples to be seated. Once seated, again, quite a while to get a drinks and food order taken. There was also a big delay in courses coming out. The staff were friendly but they didn’t have much time to offer a relaxed service experience. They were also doing takeaway pizza deliveries and these kept being sent out via the main entrance. They could have done with that staff member focused on those dining in. As for the food, it was ok. The menu looked full of promise but it was a bit disappointing. The venison ragu, for example, lacked a depth of flavour and needed more seasoning. Like I said, the dining experience is probably much improved on other days, but on the busiest night of the year, they looked like they had bitten off more than they could chew.

Hate to be changing my previous good review to a bad one but the service and food we experienced tonight was shockingly bad. To start we had a joke of a starter… paid £16 for 2 scallops cut in half (see picture attached). For mains we had over cooked tuna linguine. Then after eating we waited 45 minutes for a waiter to serve us after giving us the dessert menu. When we explained that we had waited almost an hour to order dessert we got no apology, just an eye roll. From looking around the restaurant people were waiting ages just to be seated and served drinks & everyone was struggling to get a waiters attention. We had gone on Valentine’s Day but before 6 so the restaurant was not yet full… will not be returning.

We were in the room apart from the main space and felt rather forgotten, but the food and wine were great when they arrived. The deep fried dough wedges are delicious!

A lovely intimate restaurant which is obviously very popular with the locals. We’ve wanted to try this place for a while and glad we did! Warm atmosphere, attentive staff and nice food. Only dropping one star on the food as the dough ball starter weren’t very flavourful - the cheese accompaniment could be tastier. Thanks for a nice meal!

Since the closure of Sorsi e Morsi, this place is officially the best pizza place in Tooting! EDIT TO UPDATE: I have now eaten in the restaruant and not only is it the best takeout pizza place in Tooting, it's also the best Italian restaurant too. Excellent wine selection by the carafe, delicious homemade pasta and great service from start to finish.

Incredible food, very well priced for the quality and speed of food and service. Coats taken upon arrival and an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Only reason for a 4 on the atmosphere was due to it being relatively loud with it being busy on nye and the music being a bit loud to start - otherwise brilliant.

Great selection of wines and pasta varieties. Beautiful presentation and fresh ingredients. Definitely I will go back more more times 😍

Possibly one of the best South London eateries going. Food is excellent and the wine list is the most extensive Italian I've seen - worth a visit just for that alone! Can't recommend highly enough.

Overall a great atmosphere and some wonderful starters. The buratta in particular alongside the bread with olive tapenade was amazing. The service was also very friendly and the general ambience in the place suited the authentic/fine dining feel this restaurant appears to be going for. Unfortunately however, the two pizzas we ordered as mains were not as expected. Clearly some ingredients were in short supply as the Genovese pizza which was meant to be served with small roast potatoes on top was instead served with frozen chips on top. The same could be said of the pork belly pizza which was substituted for small strips of bacon instead of cuts from the the pork belly which normally features as a main meal at this restaurant. The two images attached summarise the difference in quality between the starter and the main. Which is unfortunate given how good this meal could have been. The actual base of the pizza was lovely, I just can’t work out why frozen chips were decided as a substitute rather than simply telling us the item could no longer be provided. The service was great until we raised the fact we were confused as to why there was chips on the pizza which sadly appeared to have upset some staff members. Thankfully they did refund us for this Genovese Pizza

Absolutely smashing Italian restaurant just off Tooting Bec. The sweet pork pizza was pretty special as were the pasta dishes. Staff are super helpful and the buzz in the place is great.

I’d begun to suspect that this kind of restaurant didn’t exist anymore: a cosy, local independent where the food is prepared with skill & dedication, the wine is both excellent and affordable and the service is professional, attentive & welcoming. And to cap it all, it’s very reasonably priced. This place is a huge asset for the area. Long may they thrive. It’s certainly going to become a regular for us.

An absolute gem of Tooting! The food… excellent. Stay away from the Gnocchetti crema, it’s INCREDIBLE!!!! The menu has such a great variety of traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist! When we went the restaurant was pretty busy and waiting time for food was spot on, we had our starters and the mains came at the perfect time. Like wise with the deserts! The service was wonderful. Our waitress was so attentive and every recommendation was just perfect. The ambiance is so relaxing and chilled. Overall, incredible dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all FANTASTIC. We will be back again… and again!

I have been here a few times. The food has been consistently good (nice pizza, lovely pasta and good selection of antipasti), however the service must be improved. Inattentive staff, lack of apologies for the delay in ordering and for items that never were served (we were blamed for not ordering them instead..).When the bill arrived we complained about the service and decided not to pay the optional service. As a result we were chased while we were already on the pavement outside the restaurant. Such a shame the poor service ruined an otherwise great evening.

I don't usually go to Italian restaurants in London but i'm glad I went to this one. Staff very polite and professional, as Neapolitan I ordered a Sweet belly pizza which was something new to me and very delicious. We orderer in group different kinds of pasta that we tried from each plate and all of them were very good, so whatever you order in the menu you will be satisfied. Thank you guys for the nice experience, highly reccomend it

This is a great restaurant and I feel bad to leave a poor review but the last two times we have ordered from there the food has been far too salty and the final time I could only manage to eat a quarter of the pizza. It’s a shame as I thought I’d discovered a bit of a gem and hopefully they will sort out the salt content but I don’t think I’ll be going there any more.

Spent a lovely evening at Rosmarino with friends. Modern yet cosy, great service and excellent food from starters to desert. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Lovely local Italian restaurant. The food is tasty and well presented and the service is attentive and friendly. The main room can get quite noisy, so better to go in the smaller one if you want a calmer atmosphere. Recommended.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but food was really not good. Stale bread, and then a flavourless gnocchi swimming in oil (think it must have been microwaved?). Was very disappointed.

I cannot believe I have not rated this place before now.. It is a true find in Tooting (Bec).. Truely the best Italian restaurant for miles.. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly.. I think it is owner operated (wife and husband) and you can tell. The food is out of this world.. We went the other night, and they had a new menu (pizza here is my go to, big and unbelievably good).. There was so much choice we took 15 minutes of discussion about everyone was going to have. Photo attached is Sweet Meat (fried pork belly on top of a mountain of gorgonzola). .. Quick update.. Went again last night and yet again it was awesome.. The food is amazing, but the service is exceptional as well.. Yes I am a fan boy, but it is well deserved praise.. We will be back again soon.

Italian food so perfect that not even Italians can cook it like that. Every single detail is scrutinised by the two owners: while Giovanni crafts the recipes in the kitchen, Daria overlooks the service. Once I was there when a blackout hit the whole road: Daria was so graceful in communicating the news to all the guests while lighting candles, and Giovanni somehow managed to keep cooking; in the end all the guest felt like they experienced a special night, instead of having their dinner ruined as it would have been expected. Rosmarino is a truly special gem in South London. P.s.: special guest to Valerio, the sommelier: it's almost impossible to find someone as competent these days, even in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Amazing. Quality food, very well cooked. Very very tasty and generous portions considering the price too. Genuinely welcoming and warm service by staff who have the right level of attentiveness. Fantastic dough balls starter. Gorgeous Apple Muffin and Custard dessert. Superb bookends to our lovely meal here. Service was good with our wine always being topped up despite having to be miles away due to the way they packed out space in restaurant. Only lost a star as we were by the window where actually leg room was non existent.

We had a really warm welcome. It was our first time and we will definitely be back. Really fresh food. Good quality and traditional. Amazing friendly service. A good selection of food on the menu. Very good selection of wine by the glass also available which is a bonus. Highly recommend.

Cosy Italian restaurant with delicious food and great ambiance. The menu changes seasonally and they often have less common dishes so it is fantastic to try authentic Italian food that isn’t mainstream. I’ve been here a number of times and will keep going back. The only criticism is that they don’t do anything to recognise birthdays (in fact they were quite dismissive about it) which is a shame as it is the type of venue you go to for a celebration.

Disgraceful behaviour from this restaurant. The restaurant called me 20 minutes after the expected delivery time to say that they had run out of red mullet and would like to offer an alternative. I rejected the alternative because I only wanted the dish with the red mullet and in any case, I had to leave my house at that point and couldn't afford to wait another 30+ minutes. They agreed they would cancel the order for me. I then left my house. 10 minutes later, they called back to say they had miraculously "found" the red mullet and wanted to deliver the order to me. I explained that I had left my house at this point and also found it suspicious that they could have found something they advised just 10 minutes earlier had run out. I received a phonecall from the delivery driver later that evening to say that they were at my door, attempting to make a delivery. I told him to leave it there as he became very agitated at the prospect of returning the dish to the restaurant and in any case, it wasn't his fault. I returned home later that night. I had to throw the dish away as it wasn't safe to eat something unrefridgerated for many hours. And I checked the dish for good measure - lo and behold, no red mullet. Some scraps of unidentifiable fish, perhaps the scrapings from their freezer. I have frequented this restaurant many times but I will not be returning after being treated so poorly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Update in response to owner - I'm afraid the owner's response is a complete misrepresentation of the situation. The only reason I am responding once more is out of principle. The timings you have stated are patently incorrect - the order was placed at 5.50pm and I received a call at 6.33pm to inform me there was no mullet left and I would need to cancel the order. Only upon my insistence that the restaurant cancel the order - refusing to cancel the order myself, as i'd get charged by the delivery platform - did you take 10 minutes to miraculously locate the mullet "in the other fridge", by which point, i'd left my house. The order arrived at my house at 7.10pm, 1hr and 20 minutes after placing the order initially and was left outside my house to spoil. I repeat, the mullet in the dish could best be described as flakes of fish. I have ordered the dish previously, which costs £16+, and received chunks of mullet. Instead of accepting your mistake on this occassion, and offering to put it right, you've palmed your terrible customer service (and frankly, terrible behaviour) onto a loyal customer. Please read reviews of Iona Frith-Fletcher - "non-fresh fish" - which corroborate my story of Rosmarino using old stock.

Excellent food cooked by real Italians 😋

Very nice tasting Italian food considering what you often find in London though still somewhat shy of true authentic Italian (but perhaps that’s impossible out of Italy). They have a great range of Italian wines (some you wouldn’t normally find such as Franciacorta), good variety in the menu - some classics from all over Italy but not the usual boring Italian restaurant menu, struggled to choose what I wanted as there were so many great sounding options! Highly recommend the pizza - dough was very easy to digest, desserts homemade, fantastic service with warm Italian hospitality, lovely relaxed ambience. Were very nice about accommodating for birthday celebration. Will definitely be back! Grazie mille signori, a presto!

Amazing food but the staff created a bad experience by within 5 minutes after serving our desert asking us to leave as we were 10 minutes over the allocated time and putting our coats (which we hadn't asked for) on a spare chair at our table.

The tables are a bit crowded but the food was great. cocktail+pasta+dessert ended up being about £40 per person including service charge.

The best Italian food I have tried , the food is amazing there is no enough words to explain the fresh and delicious food. Service is also top ,atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming you definitely feel that restaurant is managed with hearts and passion about. Definitely highly recommended.

We have dined here quite a few times before, but also had our small wedding reception here in December in their new private room 😍. The experience was great! Food was super tasty, service was excellent and communication with Giovanni before our big day was smooth as well. We'll be back ☺️

Absolutely delighted to finally find a delicious Italian restaurant close to home. My husband and I had dinner here last night, and we had a wonderful evening. The restaurant was totally full when we arrived at 6.30pm, and the atmosphere was buzzy and cosy. It’s not the biggest restaurant and the tables are quite close together, but we didn’t mind at all - there’s enough space for everyone to enjoy themselves! The wine list is amazing and we enjoyed the Vermentino with a shared starter of beef cheek croquettes - delicious! I had the fish stew and my husband the seafood pasta - our plates were completely clean at the end! We chatted to Daria (one of the owners) about the history of the place (since this was the first time we had been) and told her that we’ll definitely be back. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone!

Me and my partner have been here twice now and had lovely times. Most recently for a New Year’s Eve meal. The service was really great despite it being busy. People have left reviews about everyone being too close together but I think that this adds to the atmosphere of eating out! The only reason this wasn’t 5 stars is because I thought the scallops were so small for the price (although tasty) and the lemon pasta was just slightly odd, tasted a bit like lemon meringue but some people might like that! I’ve had the seafood pasta twice now and really enjoyed it. I think there could have been a few more mussels/prawns in there though but overall flavour was fab. Steak tartare was so fresh, recommend that one!!

Had the sea bass which was Michelin star quality. Service was excellent. I took a generous portion of tiramisu home with me and it was perfecto! I'll be back!

An amazing Italian. Ive been here 3 times and always delicious. The dough balls were so light. I'd recommend the Pecorino wine. You can get their pizza delivered!

Enjoyed yet another delicious meal last night! Faultless food and service

Extremely chaotic vibe in here, staff rushing around almost aimlessly, looking extremely stressed and uncomfortable. Doesn't exactly make it easy to relax, or feel like you're in safe hands. Took over an hour for anyone in our party to get our starters. During this time staff kept staring at us nervously then shouting "it's coming" when we caught their eye. Once the starter did arrive (soup) it was barely warm and very small. I then had the vegan pizza for main which was very underwhelming and the cheese was a rank cubed texture, with no flavour. Again, felt like a very long wait. Def wouldn't recommend or go back, mainly due to the bad vibe, but the food wasn't worth it for me either.

Very cosy restaurant in Tooting went above any expectations. The pizza dough was great (48-72 hours leavening) as well as the toppings. All top quality, service included.

Simply one of the best Italian restaurants in London. The food is tasteful and prepared with care; it’s Italian at heart but not the usual Italian food. The pizza is probably the best in London. The staff is entertaining and take care of diners. The menu is regularly updated, which suggest effort in their craft. A mix between tradition and modernity, it would be a great restaurant even in Italy.

The food here is simply amazing and the staff are always friendly. My partner is Italian and I spend half the year in italy. It is RARE that we find an Italian restaurant in the UK that even comes close to Italy, but rosmarino is our favourite. We've been a few times and it's always been great. We've also had the pizzas for delivery which were also great. There are some negative reviews on here which I just don't get!

We had a lovely lunch at this brilliant restaurant. The food was delicious - gorgeous Italian food and very friendly staff.

Nice little restaurant with discreet and warm service. I bumped into them while walking in the area, food is hearty and reasonably priced. Courgette flowers needed extra sauce/dip, patches of tomato puree are not the best match. Tasty seafood tagliolini, balanced chilli notes, debatable pasta choice, tagliolini are prone to break if finished on a pan. Overall, a decent local restaurant, ideal for a relaxed long meal with friends. Bookings recommended, limited availability may apply

Unfortunately I can’t rate this higher due to a couple of things that, in my humble opinion, should change to be able to give a better rate. They squeeze every cm of the restaurant, so there is no much space even for the service, we had a small table on the middle so I was knocked every time, I honestly felt uncomfortable. They should get rid of the two tables on the middle and leave more room for everyone. The food is tasty, but portions are very small. I know sizes on fine cuisine, you get small plates of tasty things and order enough to get satisfied, but this doesn’t look the kind of restaurant for that. The starter was ridiculously tiny and followed by my main course of ox cheek and which I expected a bit more.

I recently had a fantastic dinner at Rosmarino ! The food is impeccable, from the presentation of the dishes, (Ps: its all homemade), to the  taste, which instantly reminds you of the true and authentic Italian cuisine.  In an intimate and very cozy atmosphere, the service as well is fantastic, I can honestly say this is one of the best meals I have had, and I can't wait to go back and try all the menu! We loved our visit to Rosmarino! Everything was delicious, we ordered the Porchetta and Tartare for starters and the Ragu and gorgonzola pizza for the main. We will definitely be back.

Don't book online! Reserved a table online on my way home for work. When we arrived told us they don't have any tables for our reservation and that they seen it flashing with a red flag, and showed me their system. Manager/owner didn't seem to understand how this is bad customer service. I fed back that they could have called us but he didn't seem to care was very defensive. No offer of good will just told to eat somewhere else.

The best Italian restaurant in London! Intimate place with attention to detail, also ideal for a romantic dinner!! I had a great experience at this restaurant; starting from the service, impeccable and attentive, up to the dishes on the menu, all of high quality!! I loved the coccoli with ham and stracchino and the courgette flowers stuffed with veal and smoked provola, SUBLIME!! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to delight their palate with excellently cooked and plated Italian dishes!!

Lovely food, one of our favourite Italian restaurants

My husband would probably rate this place 4 stars, but I’ve gone for 3 stars as I was sorely disappointed and didn’t think the food was anything special at all! First of all we had been wanting to come to this restaurant for a long time, but due to its popularity were a bit disappointed with its 1.5 hour evening slot…nonetheless we came with high expectations, the menu looked interesting so we were hoping the food would be the best Italian we had ever had locally. Sadly not. We had the yummy tapenade and breads to start off with, but it kind of went downhill after that. My husband’s side dish of crispy mushrooms tasted a bit weird, like they were baked in chunky breadcrumbs with no added flavours? My husband enjoyed his main dish of slow roasted pasta with crispy aubergines, he said it was ‘nice’ but I sadly could not say the same about my veal cannelloni. :( It came out so hot I couldn’t eat it for a while and then when I did manage to get to it; it was just full of white bechamel sauce and a few dices of meat (a few not much) and tasted of nothing more? I regretted ordering it but there was no time to re-order, plus I noticed no one asked us once if the food was ok! The restaurant is so busy they don’t have time for customer service (unfortunately) and it’s also so tight in there my husband got knocked on the shoulder and elbows (by staff) several times :( At the end of my main course most of it was left, but again the staff didn’t ask me once if there was a problem?! Very unusual. The homemade ice cream and panacotta made up for an ok-bad meal but then we were given the bill before we asked for it as they needed the table back. I won’t be coming back here ever and would recommend Ciullosteria restaurant instead (a more humble Italian restaurant with more traditional dishes in the next town in Balham) over this one. Sorry.

Was very excited to try this place but unfortunately the food was only good (not great) and this wasn’t enough to make up for the poor service. Took 20 minutes just to receive a menu and we’d been there 30 before water was brought to the table. Not enough staff looking after customers for a Friday night

Best Italian restaurant in the area, authentic and feels like being in Italy. Amazing service, friendly staff. Went last Saturday and despite it being really busy, food came in time and it was delicious.

I must say Rosmarino is one of the best italian restaurants in Tooting! The service was excellent, the food was superb and full of flavours, the environment is warm and cosy. Couldn't wish more! I can't wait to return and try the whole menu.

I live so local to this place and always have walked passed it..it’s looks great and always is busy. I finally when and it was amazing. The inside is well decorated and gives the right atmosphere alongside the friendly and wonderful staff who provided an excellent service. Now saving the best till last….the food! The food is seasonal which is great which means I just have to keep coming back 😝. The food was excellent and good size portion…the quality gave me flash backs from my time In Italy. I recommend this place..but be sure to book in advance as it’s not a big place. I’ve put a few photos up.

We had a truly terrible meal here which was such a shame as it was booked to celebrate a birthday. The service was incredibly slow, it took 15 minutes for bread to arrive and one of our starters arrived after the main course. We had to send one of our starters back which we were reluctant to do but it was just disgusting. The pasta dishes were either without flavour or over flavoured with non-fresh fish. We were truly disappointed by the restaurant and a celebratory meal was ruined. We would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. I am only posting publicly as Rosmarino failed to respond to a private review.

Disappointing pizza, the dough was dry and too much dry herbs to my taste. It is not bad for a « delivery » order but I had better pizza before.

Definitely place to go for a great food and nice service. Very cozy and welcoming. Thank you
