Made in Italy in Cheshire West and Chester

Fantastic authentic food, I travel to Italy a lot and this was so authentic. Foccacia was light, calamari good portion size and salsiccia and gorgonzola pizza incredible. Was very busy , not the place for a quiet romantic meal but found service utterly charming and reasonably priced.

Terrible. Ordered food (only 1 other table in), after 40 mins the waitress told us the chef had burnt it and was he was recooking our order. Took another 40 mins for food to arrive-an hour and a half wait for 3 meals! (other tables that arrived after us had had 2 courses and left). What made it worse was the staff were blanking us and not apologising or explaining what was going. Complained at the end and still no apology. Had a bad experience here in 2020 so they obviously haven't improved.

Excellent food, excellent service. Need to book a reservation as it is busy on a weekend.

Made in Italy has been mentioned to me several times by friends relaying that it was part of a family run Italian restaurant which is my favourite place to go in Chester. Just to clarify it is not. Anyway, due to reviews on TripAdvisor we thought we would try the cuisine and booked for a family of four adults and a baby for 4pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. We were seated quickly and the table was suitable for all of us. Our visit was to celebrated our sons birthday but we didn’t notify restaurant as my son doesn’t like a fuss. Orders were taken for drinks and for food. Drinks arrived minus a coke and glass of water. Waitress went back and brought back glass of Coke and water had to be requested again. We had the tomato and garlic pizza bread for a starter and it was hot and cooked well…no complaints thoroughly enjoyed by us all even our 10 month old granddaughter. Three of us had lasagne and one had risotto. All the food was piping hot. However, the lasagne contained very little meat. Our table was cleared by a male server….and we thought that we would be offered a dessert menu. We waited for 20 minutes and no one even come near our table after clearing the dishes away. I had to call over a waiter to request our bill. While paying the bill I informed the person ( unsure if she was cashier but she did have what looked like a cashier apron around her waist) that we were very disappointed with the service. I informed her we were celebrating my sons birthday and we had been sitting waiting to be provided the option of a dessert or coffee and no one has come near our table and we now just wanted to pay the bill and leave. This lady was very polite and did apologies and expressed the restaurant was very busy. I did notice that a couple of large parties had arrived while we were there but the restaurant was not full. The food at this restaurant is very similar to the food served at the Italian restaurant we visit. However, the comments from the men at our table did not believe that the lasagne was the same quality and the service did not even come close. Much of the comments I read on TripAdvisor were very positive and this was the selling point to try the restaurant. My own and my families experience from this visit have not been a positive one so we will not be venturing there again. Would I recommend Made in Italy…..probably not after our experience. We will stick with the one we love best.

Went here as was recommended by our hotel. Well sorry I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The waitress were ok polite and helpful, but the waiter was rude and ignorant, the wife had Lasagna which was so hot it was still bubbling which made it very over cooked and hard to eat, there was like 2 meatball peace’s of meat and a little bit of mince at the bottom. I had a chicken mushroom and spinach meal sorry can’t remember the name of it, well I thought it was a vegetarian meal as there was a couple of dried up over cooked pieces of chicken in the others had pizza which was ok. When they came and took our bowels and plates they just came over and took them without askiyif we had finished or if everything was ok ! I then had to flag waiter down for the bill which he just launch onto the table as he walked past us! We got up and handed the bill and cash to the waiter on our way out where he snatched it off me and walked over to the till. No thank you or any acknowledgment as we left. So rude do not go there.

Was very busy and had a good atmosphere. Service was quite aggressive and rushed. Food was average as Italian restaurants go but might be good choice if you had kids.

Staff was nice. Food is ok, big portions. Restaurant was very warm and loud. All the food is drenched in garlic, even broccoli and spinach. Fyi.

Really great restaurant. Not quite with the vibe of its sister restaurant, La Fattoria. Still, the food is very good at a decent price. The decor is not as old school Italian as in Italy.

Food was ok although La fat is nicer. It was boiling hot in the restaurant, there shouldn’t be any tables near the kitchen.

I went for a work do and had a really nice bruschetta, this seafood pasta, tiramisu and limoncello, all absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, piping hot, very reasonable prices, excellent service. My favorite Italian thus far. The seafood in the pasta was so generous too, and very flavorful. Mostly when I’ve visited Italian restaurants the pasta seem quite bland, but this dish I had was so flavorful and the portion size is very generous! This place is my new favorite, I’ll be becoming a regular. Spectacular! Highly recommended!! 😍 We were too hungry so we didn’t take any starter pictures and was too excited for dessert, so ate it all before there was a chance to take a picture 😆

Simple, open, clean, affordable, good prices, unquestionable quality. This restaurant is a gem in every aspect. The receptionist, a woman equally beautiful inside and out, serves with a friendliness and a contagious freshness and joy. The best possible choice in Chester. 100% recommended

We popped to Hoole a few weeks back and had seen this restaurant and said we'd come back and try it. So we did and oh my days it was so delicious. The portion sizes were huge. There is an option to choose half portions which I thought was a lovely idea and great for lunch times if you didn't want a big meal. We will definitely be coming back

Booked a table for 8pm and arrived to find the restaurant absolutely rammed. Shown to our table promptly and thought this may take sometime as most of the tables did not seem to have any food. However. a drinks order and food order were taken swiftly and we were soon tucking into an outstanding bruschetta starter with a lovely pinot Grigio. Two excellent main courses followed and the service throughout was efficient and friendly. If you want a quiet meal this is not the place to go but we liked the atmosphere.

Update from old post: Warm drinks warning!! Great food, great service, really enjoyed our dinner... BUT we were served warm beer!! If I'm paying 4.50 for a bottle of Italian beer i'd expect ice cold. We had to request cold beer! My mother-in-law's prosecco was in a cold glass but the prosecco was warm! My 18 year old daughter and nephew went to order take away directly at the restaurant. Staff treated them as if they were a nuisance. Order took 35 minutes. When my daughter and nephew got home with the order, the items were not correct. Management please remember that young clients could one day be your big customers. Treat them as if they were adult.

We decided to go here last minute and so glad we did. Staff really accommodating and service and food superb. So nice we decided to cancel other meal the next day and return again.they remembered us and even our name from previous nights booking. When we return to Chester we will come back for sure.

Fabulous restaurant tucked in Hoole, great atmosphere and fab food

Pleasant service but underwhelming food. The tables are close together and difficult to access for some. Some dishes are a little pricey.

The food was delicious, but the service was very rushed. In total our time in the restaurant was 45 minutes, not a particularly relaxing experience! Staff were quick to hurry us between courses. Disappointing

This is a lovely resteraunt with brilliant staff for whom nothing is too much trouble and a great vibe is created to eat fantastic food.

Love this place! It’s our go to and me and my girlfriend end up there at least once a month!

Our first time eating here and it was a great experience. Food was piping hot and delivered quickly. Would recommend the gluten free pizza and tiramisu. Good value for money too. They do celebrate your birthday in a big way and it can be a bit noisy but you have to expect that in an Italian restaurant.

We were visiting Chester for a few days and what a find Made in Italy 🇮🇹 was! Delicious food 🍝 🍕, wonderful friendly cheerful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Fun as well as intimate relaxed atmosphere - anyone with a birthday and you will notice as the staff make a big thing of it. Great value and great food and drink. :-)

We booked to dine here for my birthday & though it was a busy saturday evening we were seated straight away, given menus & left for a bit to make our choices. The staff are very friendly, but efficient. The food & wine we choose were absolutely lush as always ( never had a bad experience here) Overall a brilliant night, so thank you Made In Italy, we will be back for sure

Overall a nice experience. Our greeting was very cold and unwelcoming, as was the case with our drink waitress. Our main waitress was excellent; the staff appears to be mainly of Italian natives. The food was delicious/excellent, priced fairly. The noise level was very loud, and the frequent birthday recognitions were ear splitting, almost painful. The restaurant stated that they were very popular with this, oh well. Message to staff, be welcoming to your customers, enguage, and SMILE.

Such a busy bustling restaurant in the heart of Hoole. Food is delicious, as always, although this time it was slow to arrive and when I came the lasagne was burnt (also it contains hard boiled egg which apparently is a normal thing, yet no other lasagne I've ever had in a restaurant has ever had a sliced hard boiled egg in it?) Still a great place in Hoole with great food and we'll be back.

Amazing! We came in with a party of 14 of us for a friend's birthday, and the service provided was wonderful. I had the 4 Formaggi pizza, and it was the best pizza I've ever had!! The table was split between the varieties of pasta and pizzas available on the menu! Would definitely recommend visiting for the good prices and good food, and pre-booking first as it gets very busy :)

Excellent food, attentive service. So good, we visited twice during four day stay in Chester. Can be a little noisy when full (it was both times we visited). Would definitely recommend.

First time ordering from Made In Italy. Very quick to order on the phone, nightmare parking as it's a very busy area. Extremely popular restaurant, but pizzas were ready. As for the pizza, absolutely amazing and will be returning next time we are in the area.

We would highly recommend Made In Italy - but make sure to book as it's popular and busy! Despite not making a booking the staff didn't make an effort to be able to accommodate us and we are so glad they did as it was such an amazing experience. The service is incredible and the food was delicious. We are from the South West and only visit Chester every few years to go to the zoo but when make our next trip we will definitely be returning to Made In Italy for dinner.

What a lucky find. Was looking for somewhere to eat on a Sunday night close to our hotel. Thoroughly recommend. Proper, tasty Italian food, beautifully cooked.

Here tonight whilst on holiday at excellent chester house b & b. Very good in every way. Prices same as anywhere around Tyneside. Plenty of starters less than £10. Food top class. People very friendly and a typical vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommended. Thanks to everyone.

Stunning evening out for my boy’s 18th birthday. Made so welcome and so much fun and the food was amazing!!

I like coming here. The atmosphere, the food quality and the service are as good as ever. However I think they are beginning to push it in terms of pricing and they need to be careful. The price of starters are, apart from a couple of exceptions, all over £10, some considerably, and they are becoming poor value for money. The same is true of the mains which are now circa £20 + with little with the main item and sides separate and chargeable. A big issue though is the beer price. There no beers on tap and the price a small Peroni ( which I am reliably told can be bought at the wholesalers at c£19 + vat for 24 bottlesof the size offered) is £4.50 per bottle. Times are hard for everybody not just the restaurant trade and it would genuinely be a great shame to see this really good restaurant begin to decline. Pizza remains at a reasonable price as does the pasta. So if that’s what you want it’s still a very good place to eat. Think twice though about the amount of alcohol you order

We go here almost monthly as a treat - absolutely love the place. Always a consistently great meal & always made to feel so welcome. The food is honestly delicious - prawn linguine with extra chilli is 11/10 and the pizzas (we’ve tried a lot of them!) are always fabulous!!!! Definitely book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Wow!!! Just wow!! The food is EXCEPTIONAL, and the service team are OUTSTANDING! Nothing is too much trouble, everyone is so friendly and you can tell they’re having fun and enjoying providing service that is second to none. We live 2 hours away but when staying in Chester this is now our ‘go to’ place to eat. Can’t recommend highly enough! Five stars all the way.

Lovely family run restaurant which appeared to be full every time we walked past so it’s a good job we booked. Portion sizes were large and although my husband managed to eat everything he ordered I was defeated! There was also a good selection of cocktails- espresso martini was divine.

Recommended and didn't disappoint, visited on a Monday evening and was busy which is always a good sign, fitted us in even though I had not booked, food excellent.

Wow, what can I say. The staff here are amazing. Very helpful, friendly and full of fun. The food is outstanding. A birthday meal was made so much fun, due to staff making a big fuss, with music and singing. The ambience is brilliant.

I visited with my mum friend and her daughter , the staff were so accommodating with our girls. We both felt so comfortable and not rushed. Space was made for our prams , the high chairs were clean and the baby change facilities were really spacious. The food was amazing we and we will definitely be back k soon!

Excellent service. Everyone had a smile on their faces. The food was authentic Italian, cooked and served by Italians. The portions were massive, well cooked well presented and served with a smile. The staff were friendly, smiling and the owner was always around asking how everything was. The fact that you have to book at this restaurant proves how good it really is

Booked a table for 6 plus a baby, arrived at 16:10 and greeted at the door for a 16:30 booking and were still given our table as it wasn’t too busy at the time, served (reasonably priced!) drinks fairly quickly. Each of us ordered starters & mains. Starters took a little longer to arrive than we’d have liked but were all worth the wait, 10 minutes later we were served our mains. Decent sized portions for each: Starters: Mushrooms x2 Garlic bread/cheese Minestrone soup (mine, very big bowl!) King prawns Mozzarella/aubergine/tomato Mains: Steak/potatoes Carbonara Sea bass Pasta & meatballs Salmon tagliatelle Calzone Whole restaurant was fully booked by about 5:30 and ended up very busy! Great atmosphere and very pleasant staff- would highly recommend and will be back

My wife and I returned here, having first visited in November last year, and yet again had a fab experience. The place is so busy, and yet service is superb. Whether couples like us or larger groups, the place is welcoming, service is friendlyand professional and food excellent. Well done all of the staff, the boss must be happy!

Great food and service. It's obviously busy because it is good but unfortunately a little to claustrophobic for my personal taste. My son's disagree they liked it and said it a great atmosphere. I admit I don't like people in general and felt penned in.

We managed to book a table at short notice on a Friday early evening. The place was buzzing and very busy. The service was second to none and the food excellent. The restaurant and surrounding area are superb.

My first visit and very enjoyable.

Served by a very serious waitress for most of the evening, there was a younger waitress who was very pleasant and very helpful. Meal was ok just a bit disappointing. They do go to a lot of trouble when it is someone’s birthday which is nice.

As the restaurant is always busy it is wise to prebook to prevent disappointment. The food is all homemade delicious and served by friendly staff. Good choice on menu, with anti pasti, soup, pizza and pasta. A little more expensive the main course offers good variety. Wine, beers or soft drinks are available. Not to miss if you are staying nearby.

Ordered lasagne with meatballs, however after serarching through the sauce and pasta managed to fine one. Not good but when I mentioned it, the attitude of the staff wasn't good either. I was handed a plate with 3 meatballs on it.

What can I say, amazing Italian restaurant experience... easily up there with anywhere I've been in Italy. Dropped in on the off-chance with no reservation and proprietor went out of his way to find us a table for two for an hour (that's not too say you should do the same, they get very busy... do them a favour, ring ahead and book!) Food was top shelf; my pizza was as good as the ones I had in Florence, wife's veal was melt in the mouth, desserts to die for. Great staff, great atmosphere (some might find it a bit busy but it's Italian... that's how it's meant to be). Highly recommended if you're visiting Chester or Hoole.

I wanted to try this place because i love italian food. The overall service quality lacked hosptiality. We were left standing and ignored by the host for a table. The risotto is better than the chicken forno.
