We booked a table for my Wife's birthday . The car park is large and flat with no steps for easy access. There is a wide selection of small plates on the menu in 3 price ranges. Service was very good thanks to Mark our server. All the food was delicious we will defiantly go back.

We were in the area for few days , we saw this restaurant when we first arrived . In 2 days , we went 3 times as the food , the staff and restaurant is amazing. Tapas style but with Italian dishes . Very nice concept .

Had a lovely lunch with friends. Always consistently good food and great service from Mark. It’s nice to see the same faces serving whenever you go. I hope you appreciate how good your waiting staff are. Nothing is too much trouble. Keep it up.

Great venue. Good almost arrived too quickly and as it was all at once we didn’t get to stay too long and make it last like a true tapas experience . That said, the service was good, the food was decent and hot.

Nice but not great. I'm sure many people will understand my description. You pay a lot of money for some small plates of unexceptional food. It is a chain I suppose so it displays all the normal chain symptômes. Style over substance. Staff were great though . I was there in a party of 8. Probably won't return.

We arrived at Pesto at 8.15pm without a booking. It was quiet so lots of tables but for some reason the manager decided to keep us waiting in the very small lobby while she had an IT meltdown for 15 minutes... Once we were sat down it was the usual Pesto experience, always reliable and good. The staff seemed aware of the rather excentric supervisor and made apologies...but please can someone get her some training? We wont return here just because of her. Will stick to cabbage Hall...

The food is absolutely beautiful but unfortunately the service let it down on this occasion. After the table next to us left we heard the waitress say rather loudly to another member of staff that they could’ve atleast tipped her £1.25 (they paid the exact amount and kept the change as opposed to tipping) which we found awfully cheeky and in turn put us off leaving any sort of tip! Two of us on our table work in hospitality and know although tips are nice - they’re an extra and not to be expected! I was taken back to hear the member of staff say a cheeky comment like that infront of customers. The place was understandably understaffed due to adverse whether it did mean I had to ask twice for a drink as they’d forgot the first time and wait times weren’t the best but out of their control I suppose. The food however was incredible! Fresh and tasty, first time visiting and will certainly be returning 😋

Just would like to give a shout out to our server today his name was Joe and served our table of 14 people . He was super polite and attentive , which made a meal more relaxed which is sometimes rare as we are a big party !. All our food was delicious and had no issues. Thank you

Always good food and service here. Go a couple times a year. There's a main menu and a set menu which is good value for money. 6 adults 1 child and our bill was £130 for food and soft drinks. Only downside is you have to drive there. Food is Italian tapas so small plates but order at will.

Great food, great service, great staff!

I meet up with old mates for lunch every couple of months. The menu has three price ranges and you can select any three dishes, all of which are delicious. Always popular as everything here is spot on. You need to book in advance to ensure getting a table but I don't know if you can just turn up and chance getting a table.

It’s a lovely place! Highly recommend, plenty of nice options to try every time, i’ve been there twice already this week and shall be back again, I have received some amazing service from Philippa on both occasions, she’s quite a delight added to the place! If you like sweet things you much try the Angelico crema cocktail, it’s to die for!

We get together regularly as a group of friends and chose to revisit Pesto at The Yacht for our latest meet up. As I have found to be usual, the food and ambience were really good. Most of us selected from the set menus and the food I chose was great. Really tasty and a nice variety of options, too! What impressed me even more on this occasion was the service. We were looked after by Kate M who ensured our orders were brought quickly and simultaneously to the whole party. She was courteous, friendly, attentive and, most importantly to me, showed great integrity when she re-checked we were happy with our tip amount, as it seemed more than she thought we realized. We knew the amount and were happy it was merited by our evening's experience, but what really impressed me was that Kate M checked with us anyway. I love this honesty and because of this, and her efforts all evening, consider this young lady to be a real credit to the team at Pesto. To summarize then, we had a great time and, based on the food, ambience and excellent service, I will be back again soon and will definitely continue to recommend Pesto at The Yacht to others.

Never been to a tapas Italia before so this was a nice change! The prices are very good for the portion sizes, we actually couldn't finish all our food!

This was our 6th year anniversary of being together. We love coming here. We were welcomed warmly by Filipe, she spoke to my partner about surfing which he was chuffed about. The food was delicious, quick to come out, Felipe was very attentive asking if everything was ok. Had the best night. Thanks Filipe for your walm and kind welcome and serving us were very grateful.

Was a lovely experience as always, lovely food and very friendly staff. Filipa was a true credit and couldn’t do enough for us. A truly lovely host, very impressed as always!

Food was excellent, nice relaxing atmosphere and not too expensive, service by Mark was impeccable, he’s a credit to the company.

Very rapid service, Mark looked after us and food was grand (and filling!) Had six tapas dishes between us and my favourite was the cod loin. Coffee's nice too 🙂

I love Pestos in general, so I have been to 4 of their restaurants but At The Yacht was my first experience - and I have been back a few times now including for my birthday - it would have been nice if they could do something to make you feel special for your birthday day as we did mention it on the booking and to the person serving us, we had a few issues with cold plates on the last visit but overall it is a fab tapas selection and we would return. Old Mout Cider was £6.00 so I wish I went for a cocktail instead! But the prices for the Tapas are really good and worth it.

We have been a few times before so know this place well. Unfortunately this time wasn't great for the food. At best it was luke warm, at worst it was cold. We had to send food back to the kitchen to be heated up again. The service was good from our server and the atmosphere was good but the cold food let it down.

I've been a couple of times now, so feel I can leave a well balanced review. My second visit wasn't as good as the first and that was down to two factors that worse. Firstly, the service was slow throughout the visit, it took up to 10mins to get seated. Another 30mins for our sever to take our drinks order and our food took an age to arrive. Normally this is because the restaurant is busy and all, but there were multiple empty tables around us, so that couldn't be it, perhaps an off night?.. Secondly, the food was amazing for me and the wife, just a tad undercooked for my mother in law. Which, by the way, our server dealt with this professionally! Easily fixed and nothing above will stop me from going again, I just love the food too much.

We went for an evening meal, we hadn’t booked but Tasha our server found us a perfect spot in the restaurant and was very accommodating, her service was excellent and our food was lovely, we will be returning soon! x

We visited on a very busy Saturday night to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Kate looked after us and all of us thought she was so lovely. Friendly, efficient and professional. Five of us including a 4 year old. Food was good as were the drinks but it was Kate who made the evening for us all. She sorted food, drinks, took pictures and served my daughter's birthday cake as well as being very busy with other customers. Recommend booking as it was very busy. Plenty of car parking.

Husband and I had lunch today at pesto at the yacht.Been several times never disappointed with staff or food. Today we served once again by Kacey u who was pleasant took time to chat to us while making sure we had everything we needed.Well done kacey your a credit to Pesto.

Always great food and service, reccomend 2/3 dishes each and of course a desert. Staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. Can be a littke expensive once you add drinks on but its worth it.

One of our favourite places to eat. Visited many times and love how there are new items on the menu to try. Setting is lovely and Kacey who served us was lovely. She was so polite and chatty and the prefect host, thank you. Enjoyed our visit and will always come back.

Sometimes you strike gold. On a trip to Cheshire to find hotel we’re staying in had a so-so restaurant. Found Pesto at the Yacht on Google Maps, just around the corner; why not give it a try. So we did! WOW! Went back the following evening too. Tapas style Italian, what a great idea. Shame it’s not nationwide ☹️.

Great place, very affordable food, but extremely expensive on drinks

We enjoyed our Pesto meal at The Yacht last night very much. The food was both delicious and nutritious, high quality, well-prepared and presented, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated the range of choice, especially as vegetarians/vegans. The six little dishes between us were perfect - full of flavour, colour and different textures. Lovely!

'Trapped' in a great hotel, but with an expensive restaurant, TA once again saved the day by showing me that 'Pesto at the Yacht Inn' was literally just down the road - and what a GREAT find it was. I rarely give 5-Stars; I'm not someone who gushes over somewhere just because they have nice crockery - Pesto has earned the highest praise. A quick look over the online menu before setting off made me convinced that the there was a typo in the prices - everything was ~£6. However, all became clear when you realise that its Tapas-style (which I love) but with Italian cuisine (which I LOVE). That LUV only deepened as I passed a board on the way in that was advertising 3 dishes for less than £15! Quickly, and professionally, seated in an already-busy restaurant (it was only 5:30pm), the staff were extremely attentive and service rapid. For someone who hates the sight of a massive bowl of pasta served by restaurants who confuse quantity with quality, Pesto definitely concentrates on the latter - the food was simply superb, great job Chef. The portions are effectively starter-sized, so the Insalata Caprese and Calamari Fritti dished were a perfect amount, very good quality and extremely well cooked Calamari. The pasta dish (Maccheroni Cacio Con 'Nduja) was piping hot and delicious; I barely had room for Tiramisu (but, there's ALWAYS room for Tiramisu ;-) ) This is a great restaurant, the fact that it's an old pub just adds to the charm - highly recommended.

Good all-round but full order delivered at the same time leading to a very cluttered table the saving grace was we were only 3 at the table

The food was lovely however we had a very rude server and had to wait ages for our drinks and orders to be taken. We asked several times for our food to be taken by a number of people only to be told rudely that only our server was allowed to speak to us. The waitress who brought our food over was absolutely lovely however the tall male waiter taking our orders was very rude to us several times making comments on our orders etc, I am very disappointed as I normally have a lovely experience here. Not happy.

First time visiting, excellent service, loads to choose from and a great atmosphere. I love the fact it's a tapas Italian menu. We ordered 3 dishes each (two adults two children), everything came at the same time and we had a feast. We all shared each other's food so we really got a variety of food to try. Will definitely be back again. The price was great as well, 12 dishes, 8 drinks with 4 deserts came to just £105. Excellent value. Just a sample of what we had and recommend. Disgusting service, Mark the waiter very rude, upset with the tip we left, snatched card machine out of my 81 year old fathers hand

Poor service, waited long time for drinks to be brought to table, waitress was hardly seen, colleagues had to fill in for her (busy on mobile !) Food was however excellent

Always good food at the Pesto establishments and no different here. nicely refurbished and very different from its past look as The Yacht. Busy, so service wasn't quite on point but our waitress was genuinely lovely, made us feel very welcome (didn't get her name, slim, dark haired, European accent) All in all an excellent experience

A friend and I met up for lunch here and we were both very impressed with the whole dining experience. We booked in for 1pm on a Friday and found it to be busy but not so much that it was crowded or loud. I'm a wheelchair user so added to the booking a note to say we needed a ground floor table (it's multi-level) with no issues.There was plenty of parking and easy access for those with mobility issues. The food comes in a tapas style with smaller portions which encourages you to try different options. All the food we had was fantastic and very reasonably priced for an above average establishment. Service was excellent (our waitress was Emily) very attentive but not overbearing . All in all I would really recommend for anyone who likes Italian, we'll certainly be back :)

Tuesday 27/8/24 We hadn’t booked and even though we could have a table for just under two hours, you would think we were a party of 20 asking for a table. Awful first impression , will not be recommending or returning. After talking to a few local residents they all said the same , the service isn’t what it used to be

Love coming here, the food is always good, we didn't have to wait long. Our server Marcus was very friendly and welcoming.

Not quite sure what’s gone on at Pesto at the Yacht Chester which was one of our favourite regular restaurants as we love the different array of dishes and how good they are. We booked last night as hadn’t visited for a while due to ill health so thought we’d have a treat. Although the waiter was lovely service was in disarray I received my Bruschetta starter with 3 of my main tapas dishes, my partner received 2 mains no starter so after waiting we called the waiter to ask where the rest of order was. Instead of checking his note pad he went to his phone to look at the menu? We then eventually got the rest of our tapas and late starter only to be met by a lovely length of plastic wrap in my fish cake. Again the waiter was called and he removed the dish with an apology. Then dessert time. Lemon torte cheesecake which normally has a crispy base was soggy my other half likes the tiramisu with a shot of amaretto poured over it which he ordered with the dessert. The dessert arrived …..no amaretto now the waiter was watching the tables so we thought it will be here in a moment,,, no we waited and waited by which time my partner just tucked in as I was finishing up. Halfway through eating it arrived so told them to return it as dessert was nearly eaten. After speaking to the manager he then refunded my fish cakes and the amaretto and dessert! I thought he could have done better to be honest . Disappointed to say in the least.

The food at Pesto was delicious, well priced and arrived in good time. My husband and I agreed that the affogato desert was the best we’ve had. The service (from our waiter Nacno) was excellent. He was very attentive, efficient and professional. The servers carrying the extremely large trays of tapas also did a brilliant job, particularly the young lady that served our table. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Italian tapas style food.

As an Italian I’m very critical when it comes down to Italian food abroad but I have to admit that despite it wasn’t mum’s food, it was a really good experience. Portions not overly massive, really tasty and close to a real Italian meal. Went for the three course menus and enjoyed all we ordered. Price wise absolutely good. Highly recommended. Service over the top !!!!

Food was lovely, everything was not so great, staff were more bothered flirting with each other than to actually come and take a drinks order from us at the start. Halfway through our food we ordered drinks again which didn’t arrive, we finished our food and asked for the bill ready to go at this point just wanting to forget about the drinks, at this point the waitress thinks it’s a good time to finally bring said drinks over instead of knocking them off the bill. Could hear the kitchen/chefs music all the way through the meal which didn’t add to what is meant to be a nice atmosphere. Disappointing as usually the staff are spot on.

After a bad experience we went back and its amazing food and good service and the cherry bakewell cocktail is amazing

The rating speaks for itself. A stay in a nearby hotel whilst visiting Chester zoo we came across this eatery. The online booking was easy and recommended. Service was excellent, atmosphere was friendly and comfortable, the choice and menu setup was excellent, ideal for a family party ranging in age from 10 to 66. The food itself was excellent. The staff were professional, friendly and very helpful, a special note for Joe our server for the evening. Bar with good selection of drinks, cash and card accepted, plenty parking, toilets and easy access to.

Extremely busy, that should tell you how good it is, considering its out of the way.

Came out for my Daughters 25th Birthday. Service was so poor. Only had 1 drink and waitress never call past to see if we were OK. The whole experience took an age....very disappointed

Lovely food as always good service

Nice food, love the small plates aspect where you can choose multiple different dinners. The only downside was the dessert selection it was very limited. If you don't like ice cream or sorbet you have a choice of 3 or 4 maybe.

We waited 10mins to be seated then when seated we were waiting to be served but they just kept walking past and serving other people when they came in after us will not be going back there again you should never judge a book by its cover
