PESTO AT THE YACHT in Cheshire West and Chester

Love this place, we keep coming back at least a couple of times per year, the food is great with the Italian tapas style, great for sharing with friends and family. Great location as well, we often used it as a kicking off point for visiting places on the Wirral such as Ness Botanical gardens.

If you like things simple or your not very adventurous with food, give it a miss. There's not very much for the fussy one (you know what I mean) taking an order for a group is just chaos, but otherwise it was good

A good choice of food and the kids always enjoy it.

Lovely food. Was my mums 70th birthday. Told the waiter. When ordering her dessert, I thought they could write happy birthday or put a sparkler in or something. No fuss which I was disappointed in. The desserts were not anything special. We used to come alot and they tasted nothing like they used too. Overpriced.

It was busy (but it's Always Busy) which means the noise levels are high however the quality of the food far outweighs this. This time we had a super Portuguese waitress who provided excellent service always with a smile sometimes under difficult conditions (another dropped a tray of food & they helped clear up resultant mess) Altogether a lovely convivial evening with friends.

Went for lunch the other day and thought we’d try something different. Pulled up in car park of Pesto Italian restaurant on the Chester high road, looks lovely from the outside and on entering the premises was impressed with the layout. Didn’t have a booking but still offered a table. Unsure of how it works the staff very friendly and helpful ran through how the menu works. Ordered drinks and followed by food. Service was very quick and it wasn’t long before the food arrived. Quality of food was top notch and very tasty. Bill came to £30 for the two of us with drinks. Will definitely be eating there again. Only advice is to go early if eating lunch as it gets very busy, but rightly so as I cannot fault anything and highly recommend a visit👍

Great food at very reasonable prices. Have taken lots of family and friends there and they have all loved it! Love the fishcakes, goat's cheese pizza, prawn bruschetta, seafood gratin, mushroom pancakes! So much choice!!!

There were 7 of us .Including .3 children . The kiddies menu . Was an activity sheet the waitressgave the kids colouring pencils which kept them busy while waiting for their food. The food was great.. Not to expensive..Good value. Good selection. Very good service . Highly Recommended.

We have visited the yacht (pesto)quite a few times, and each time, we had a gorgeous meal! Everthing served on small plates of loveliness, mmm, we will be visiting again soon as the food and staff were excellent and the yacht was spotless (excellent behaviour)👍🏻😁

We booked to go on the recommendation of a friend for my birthday meal out while visiting Chester for a few days, and would absolutely be recommending it to anyone that mentions that they are going to be visiting or going near here! We were quickly seated upstairs. Service was brilliant, the guy who served us (I didn't catch his name but had a liverpudlian accent) was attentive not only to us but also to all of the tables around us nothing was too much trouble. You could tell how great the team working there are just but how they all work together. The food is great value and was much faster to come than we expected and was absolutely lovely. Not one of the 7 dishes we had was a disappointment. The menu itself had so many great options which made it particularly tricky to pick the ones we should have, there is definitely something even for the pickiest of eaters. Though we weren't with Kids, due to it's tapas style set up it's somewhere that would suit a family perfectly. We decided to go for the chocolate torte and the raspberry and mango/passion fruit sorbet for desert and just like the mains these were great too. It made for a lovely way to finish off a fab day.

Excellent tapas dishes from a varied menu. Staff attentive ( Neil was our server) and polite. Venue very nice and we are looking forward to trying outside seating when the warmer weather arrives.

Pesto never fails to deliver excellent, quality food at a reasonable price with brilliant service provided yet again by Mark who was professional, courteous & attentive throughout our time there. It would appear that all staff are tuned into their roles which, compliment the relaxing yet lively atmosphere in gorgeous surroundings.

I've been here a couple of times now, with friends one time and with family another, and I'd say, the food and service have been fantastic both times! I've sat upstairs both times, and to be honest, if request it each one because downstairs can get quiet loud, but up was perfect for the groups we were with. Service was quick, we were able to have fun with the waitress trying to pronounce the Italian words, the food came promptly and all dishes were remembered, and there was alot! Foods magnificent, the pork belly, chicken wings, carbonara, the pizza pockets, garlic bread, it makes me hungry writing this! Highly recommend and hence, will constantly keep coming back. I will also say, it's perfect for groups who have picky eaters, vegetarians etc because there is something for everyone.

Visited Pesto at the Yacht for my friends birthday. It was a busy night and there were 18 of us. The servers were lovely and the service was fabulous. Our orders were taken very efficiently and the food arrived quickly although it was absolutely at capacity. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Absolutely will be returning to sample different dishes from the menu.

Visited Sunday. Felt quite ignored. When we were hoping for a 2nd drink trying to get a member of staff was an ordeal! And it wasn't busy. We gave up on wanting desserts after nobody coming to check on us. Literally from order to the bill nobody came near our table to check on us. Getting a 2nd drink was putting them out!! Food delicious, just lack of engagement from staff. So disappointing...

Me and the wife sat at table number 42, served by Sarah K on the 28/01. First time we've been to this restaurant and my god was it brilliant. Sarah was absolutely amazing she made the visit so relaxed with her efficient and very friendly service she knew it was our first visit and we were probably a bit awkward but she absolutely made our visit as good as it could have been. The food was well lets be honest you know how good it is! We shall return and ill definitely be requesting to book the same table again if possible because that little spot is lovely!

Made a reservation and we arrived 5 minutes early. Were told to sit at the bar because our table wasn't ready. 25 minutes later I received an email to say our reservation had been cancelled. We were sat in the restaurant. Absolutely unacceptable service sp we left and went to an all round better restaurant

Excellent meal which has restored my confidence in this chain. We had a meal at Dibbinsdale which was awful, (the food was dry and overcooked) The food at Chester was totally different, perfectly cooked and very tasty Will definitely return

We took advantage of the 3 tapas menu for £10.50. Excellent food and great service. It's fantastic value and the drinks are reasonable too. I would recommend

A restaurant made up predominantly of Italian tapas dishes. Huge menu to choose from. This was our second visit and both times we had quite a big party to serve. Service was a little slow but it was a busy Sunday. Food was hot and the waitress made sure we all had the dishes we ordered. Suitable for all ages as the menu is so varied

Was quiet on arrival due to heavy traffic in the area, but quickly filled. Staff were amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful, food was just fantastic, very tasty, quick to arrive and filling. Price was very reasonable, will definitely visit again when in the area.

Good food but heating was an issue as it was cold. They told us an engineer had just repaired it but the place was cold. Staff tried their best to move us around the venue.

An amazing restaurant, always great. Can get quite loud due to the upstairs bit being almost like a balcony above the downstairs seating area. Has good tapas dishes and fills you up.

I have visited a handful of times now and on every occasion I would give 5 stars. Food is cooked fresh, service is superb. I give a generous tip each time...and I don't get pestered or feel obligated to give a tip.

Excellent food with great service on a very busy evening. Perfect added touch of our server (table 41. 5.45pm) adding a candle for my wife's birthday which I'd subtly mentioned on the booking details. Undecorated but very perfect and special. Good value, and very tasty. Will definitely return

We have dined here many times and never once been disappointed. The food is tasty with a wide choice and at a maximum price of £12.99 for three dishes ( daytime menu ) is great value for money. Staff are attentive too. Mark is very helpful and knows his stuff. We will keep coming. No wonder the place is always busy!

The staff are very nice! I love the choice on the menu, alot of options. The food is so good, easy to finish all of it. However whenever I come the doughballs are always a bit off, this is alright because I was given a refund. I recommend everything else but the dough balls.

We visited for the first time because I'd been given a gift card for my birthday. What a brilliant birthday present it turned out to be. From the moment we walked through the door, we were made to feel welcome by all the members of staff. The restaurant area is very attractive - large tables, comfortable chairs and a lovely view of the garden. We were served with our drinks very quickly and then spent time deciding between the huge range of dishes on the menus. The a la carte menu has a tremendous selection of dishes. We opted for a set menu - there are 3 different set menus, priced at £9.99, £11.99 and £12.99. You can also choose dishes from any of the different menus. We had 6 dishes between us - each dish was really generous and they were all delicious. We had two different types of meatballs, farfalle with salmon, potatoes with parmesan, a garlic and pesto pizza and linguine with mushrooms. Every dish was piping hot; the whole meal was perfect. We also had 2 drinks each, and the bill came to just over £30 in total. The young lady who served us (Kate) was so pleasant and helped to make the whole experience really special. We are already planning to go back! (For anyone with a disability, access to the restaurant and toilets is excellent.)

Lovely meal but had to wait a while, the drinks order seemed to take forever we had to ask twice in the end my daughter went the bar to find staff talking. Although the meal was lovely it was a little expensive for what we got. Not sure I’d rush to go back sgain

A fabulous dining experience. Extensive menu with good gluten-free options, small plates allow the opportunity to try several dishes. The quality of the food itself was excellent. The staff were helpful and attentive, without being over-bearing. Busy, vibrant atmosphere. 5/5 all round.

I have been multiple times and always had great service, however I went last week for my friends birthday and had a table booked for 7:30. We waited 40mins to get seated. When we asked when we could sit down they said the other table was just getting the bill, half an hour later they said the same thing. The table didn’t leave until 8:10pm. We didn’t receive an apology or any acknowledgment to the fact we were stood up next to the bar for 40mins whilst waiting and when asking a staff member their comment was “I can’t do anything about it if they’re still sat down” no apology. Once seated our drinks took a long time to come however by this point the restaurant was not busy. I orderd a coke half way through the meal and was looking at it sat on the bar for about 10 minutes whilst 4 staff members stood around talking and laughing so I had to go and get my drink myslef from the bar by that point I had already eaten most of my meal. The food was amazing and came really fast so it is apparent to me it is not the kitchen but the attitude of the staff which is the problem.

We have been to the sister restaurant of this at the Dibbinsdale several times as mum loves the food but they couldn't fit us in tonight at short notice. I decided to try here and being part of the same group we felt the food would be very similar, which it was. The meatballs are great, especially with a bit of extra chilli and we all thoroughly enjoyed the outing. Our waiter Marcus was one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of being served by and worthy of special mention.

This is really busy and has a really good atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Lots of different dishes, all extremely good. Car par was full so some cars parked in the lane.
