La Fattoria in Cheshire West and Chester

Booked in advance to come here on Friday night 7.00 with my partner ,we where waiting at the door while the manager got tables for other people ,we where left high and dry 30 mins basically at the door and he didn’t give any thought for us even though we had booked previously ,I can only describe the experience as organised chaos ,rude obnoxious staff also we had no option but to leave as we Wernt given any attention at all giving tables to customers who hadn’t even booked previously disgusting behaviour ending up leaving you all should be ashamed of yourselves inc rude customers who couldn’t wait , also the lighting was dark and customers seamed rowdy loud wrong place for birthday celebrations load banging of pans ,it’s not a nightclub ,manager seamed more interested in filling the place full of unbookings ,do not book because the manager doesn’t take you seriously or care and has an aggressive attitude towards his customers at all would much rather give tables to anybody on the streets the restaurant was far from quiet and had the wrong sort of people dining in there 👍 1 star 🌟 poor customer service, poor attentive behaviour towards customer bookings and losing genuine customers doesn’t seam to bother them !! Wont ever be returning you where lucky I gave 1 star review 😔

Fantastic food here, served with a smile. It was our first visit and it was crazy busy. The noise level was so high I didn't enjoy my food. I felt sorry for the guys serving, there were so many people standing waiting for tables. This place is a victim of it's own success. Hopefully this was a one off, maybe an over booking issue? I'll visit again and hopefully things will have quieted down a bit. If you're looking for quality food is certainly hard to beat.

Restaurant was reasonably busy when visited, food was average and didn’t take too long to serve. Staff couldn’t really be bothered with us and when asked for more drinks made you feel like you were harassing them. Wouldn’t visit again due to their poor attitude. May well behave better with regulars but not visitors. Would not return if in the area again.

This was our second meal here a couple of years since we first discovered this fabulous Italian. La Fattoria is by far the best Italian in Chester. All our meals were delicious served by our friendly and attentive waiter. Very much highly recommended.

Perfect, bodybuilder visiting Mum & Dad yesterday, needed healthyish food. Mum recommended this place, service was great, friendly and attentive, I had salmon with spinach, spot on, very very tasty, best salmon and sauce ever had. Will return!

Absolutely fab place! It was very busy but you're not all pushed in together, lovely and spacious. The food came quickly and was gorgeous! Proper Italian restaurant. Highly recommend! (And proper Peroni!)

Called in to book my birthday meal and had lunch. Absolutely amazing food and service- wow it’s beautiful food, almost like you can taste the passion out in to the preparation! I had ravioli for a change filled with lobster and crab and then couldn’t resist the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had. Super friendly service ❤️

I always thought making a booking ensures you have a table on the time frame of your booking ! Well this restaurant don’t know the meaning of the word booking. Booked a table to be sat waiting over 1 hour and to be spoken to like dirt from really rude and aggressive manager ! After ready reviews I am not the only one who has experienced out of order situations with the manager and there bookings Avoid

The seafood is delicious , special sauce for the pasta , it’s a good restaurant

The shrimp 🦐 salad almost has avocado, which is good. When the Carbonara comes on the table, the waiter will grate the cheese in front of you. It tastes normal. I ordered MARGHERITA for the pizza, but there are no whole basil leaves.

My favourite Italian in Chester, both of our pasta dishes were excellent as was the the focaccia bread. Service was attentive and friendly and the restaurant has a nice cosy warm family run feel to it definitely will be coming here time and time again

Very dark inside, couldn't hear any background music. Felt like a 'tourist trap' kind of place. The manager was extremely loud when talking to his staff. At one point, I heard him shout,'Don't turn the lights on!' The food was very average, we had one course, paid and left. Not sure I'd ever go back.

Great Italian food enjoyed with friends whilst visiting Chester. Very busy on a Friday night and I can see why so popular. Recommended by colleague who lives local and told me best Italian in Chester. Staff could do with trying to crack a smile like and fella who took my booking was very abrupt but I can see through that as the food is excellent. All had starters and mains, lasagne, pizza, salads all bang on and we love Italian food. Highly recommend for the food.

Utter shambles, don’t bother booking as you will be left to wait for a table. Me and my partner visited after making a booking on our arrival we spoke to a member to start to let them know we’re were here. Staff was really rude and had no interest in sitting us down. We waited 45 minutes past our original booking time and had to chase staff 3 times while in the meantime speaking to other customers who was also waiting for a table to be seated before us even tho they didn’t book. The manager must be a huge fan of Shrek as he’s a really rude, grumpy and aggressive human. Spoke to is like dirt looking and shaking his head stating there’s no tables available total unorganised chaos. After reading other reviews it seems it’s not just has that had this experience.

First time visiting Chester and this meal was the highlight of our stay! Food was so fresh and delicious, lovely staff who couldn't do enough for us really impressed!

First visit to La Fattoria today. Delicious pizza made for my husband and myself. I had gluten free option which was perfect. Thank you so much for offering this option as I usually have to miss out on pizza. Visited from Llandudno, north Wales. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great find! We went here on a whim and weren't disappointed. I ordered a seafood pasta which was delicious and my daughter ordered a margarita pizza. Will definitely return.

Love love this place, but really getting fed up of not being able to book or get a table. Tried booking at least 3 different times with plenty of notice only to be told immediately "no room". Is it if your face fits now??

Very busy, full of an older crowd Good garlic bread starter, tasty pasta (can recommend the ravioli sofia) Service quick Prices on the higher side but typical for the area, worth it 👍

We were eating as a family and we loved it. The food was incredible and the waiters were very friendly, super attentive. We recommend it 100%!!

Simply one of the best family run Italian restaurants that's perfect for everyone no matter what the occasion to enjoy. I took the family out last week as a treat to say thank you to my parents for all theyve ever done for me and my children and we all couldn't decide who's meal was better. Everyone like there own best! 😂 Even my little 8 year old who is a very fussy eater fell in love with the process of pizza making and couldn't take her eyes off the Pizzaiolo who makes all the pizzas from stratch. She eat an entire pizza to herself which is a miracle trust me. The food, the atmosphere, the whole experience was perfect. Thank you La Fattoria, we look forward to coming again. 👌

The atmosphere was great. The service was fantastic - attentive but not overwhelming. The food was delicious. Proce was very reasonable. We had 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine, with a tip it was less that £100.

Absolutely love this place ,staff are fabulous & so attentive our eldest granddaughter asked to go here for her 13th birthday in December after my birthday meal in October ,we also went last week for a meal after shopping, love it & also our friends from Southport ,no one does her Carbonera like they do & their saute potatoes are fabulous xxx

We came as a walk-in on Christmas Eve and they were able to offer us a table for 4 with a very short wait. Very lively restaurant where you can tell everyone is having a good time. Nice atmosphere with lots of pictures. Starters, pizzas and risotto marinara tasted excellent. Many thanks to the whole Fattoria team 🤩

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere. People were queuing up to get in. I can understand why. If there is a better Italian restaurant in Chester I would be supprised.

Walked past this place a number of times and its always full, so we made a booking. We were not disappointed. The service and food were excellent. Best to book as they seem to be busy all day long but the staff are very quick and efficient. As for the bill I had no complaints, it was good value for money especially considering the nice meal we had. Will definitely return.

We had not booked a table, however, with only a short wait (Christmas parties) we were given a table. Meal was excellent.

We enjoyed a beautiful lunch yesterday at this welcoming family-run restaurant in the heart of Chester. We had booked in advance, which was clearly essential as it quickly filled up at a busy lunch time. Service was great, friendly and approachable. Absolutely divine food - I went for the calamari and zucchini to start which was perfect, so fresh and flavourful. Then a beautiful linguine puttanesca for the main which was stunning. Portion sizes were generous and prices really reasonable considering the quality of food we received. I didn't have room for pudding but there was a range of choices from gelato to tiramisu and cheesecake. There was a great buzz about the place , packed full of diners enjoying great food in a lovely environment. I can't wait to go back.

Serving staff were good although it was busy. Manager/owner surly. Frozen chicken pieces used on pizza , few peppers on it but base was ok. No choice of glasses of wine just bottles of wine. I couldn't recommend. I think had the manager/ owner had more finesse it would have made a big difference.

Been a while since eaten here as we live miles away but was certainly as good as I remember, food was delicious with excellent service.10/10.

I don’t live in the area but visit this restaurant whenever I am in Chester. The staff, atmosphere & food are all absolutely fantastic. I love Italian food & always find one of the top rated restaurants in every city I visit, but this is by far my favourite!

Seriously the best Italian food in Chester. This place never fails to disappoint. Bored with usual ‘Italian’ desert menus , today i asked if they had Cannoli. This is without doubt my favourite Italian desert but all restaurants serving Italian cuisine stick to the usual panna cotta and tiramisu . La fattoria though went above and beyond . Although they did warn me the cannoli would be twenty minutes or so i was quite happy to wait and was certainly not disappointed. Excellent service with truly authentic cuisine, lovely atmosphere and staff cannot do enough to make it a great dining experience. My favourite place to go ❤️

It was a Tuesday night with temperatures around zero but it was clear this restaurant must be good because it was full. We were lucky as a table was just being vacated as we walked in. It was speedily cleaned and reset so we could be seated. Service was prompt and attentive throughout. Our bruschetta, pasta and pizza were all excellent and full of flavour, accompanied by a lovely bottle of wine. Portions were large and the prices were great value. We had an excellent view of the pizzas being made from where we sat, so skilful. People were queuing for a table all the time we were there. This was our first overnight stay in Chester. We won’t hesitate to return to La Fattoria on our next visit.

Tried this place 3 times now don't know what the fuss is about.. Its ok dissapointed with there pizza Flavourless no tomato sauce not much cheese half was crust. Service good atmosphere loud. With birthdays..pricey,,,,, starters were decent but not great.

What a gem of a place to spend a couple of hours. Amazing staff Simone, Ksenia and Simone#2. Made my sister and I very welcome chatted about the food and wine on the menu very friendly took time to explain the dishes. Atmosphere vibrant and decor cosy. Would highly recommend and reasonably priced.

A excellent place for Italian food

The individual who answered my call to book a table was disinterested, rude, clearly wasn't trying to see availability. On principle if this is reflective if the service I will 100% avoid it! Rude and unpleasant!

This is a vibrant, exciting restaurant - the noise of happy diners is all part of the experience. Great food - the tomato and garlic pizza base bread is a must try, the lasagne is historic and do try the Torta Della Nonna - superb. Book early - it's always busy.

This is an outstanding restaurant, in fact it is much better than many restaurants in Italy! The menu choices are good, the flavours are superb, the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is really authentic. We have been several times and have always been delighted with our meal here.

An incredibly busy and vibrant restaurant. We managed to get a walk in on a Friday night and only had to wait around 5 mins. The queues were out the door throughout our meal, for this popular Italian restaurant. The four of us had a pasta main each and a drink and the bill was just over £80. Dishes were fresh and pretty tasty and you can see the pizza being cooked in the open pizza kitchen.

Brilliant visit for my sisters birthday on 12th November, the staff and food were excellent. Pizza was amazing and pasta marinara, was fab. Highly recommended

Amazing food, never disappoints!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our meals this evening, lasagne and spaghetti bolognaise👍 The house wine bottle was vg, and the tiramasu/ coffees were excellent. Thank you for a great experience and atmosphere too👌

Such a great place to eat, the atmosphere was fabulous and the food was great. We didn't have a booking but they managed to fit us in and we were extremely grateful.

Fantastic food and great atmosphere

Food was ok was good but nothing special, the area I sat in was really dark couldn't even read the menu. Staff were friendly.

They were able to find us one of the last tables at short notice. Two of us had pizza, one pasta. The restaurant has plenty of staff and very quick response to requests like water or extra parmesan cheese . We all enjoyed our meal.

Managed to book a table, good job we did as very very busy. Very tasty food, good portion sizes, fantastic atmosphere, staff very helpful and friendly, will definitely be back when in Chester.

Food was delicious, pure comfort food! I loved the very cheesy lasagne, amazing, as well as the garlic bread starter 😍 The portions are also generous, great for the price. Service was great and very friendly, helpful staff however we did have multiple servers coming and asking the same questions. Be aware that restaurant is quite loud and lighting dark. People were using torches to see the menus. Several times during eating the lights went out completely to do birthday celebrations with very loud banging. We didn’t mind but might not be suitable for everyone. Overall we had a great visit and would definitely recommend, thank you

This has always been my favourite restaurant because the food is great. I’ve been coming here since it was owned by Vito and his wife and now I bring my family. I won’t be coming again though! I tried to book a table two weeks in advance for my daughter’s 21st. The second the waiter heard me say I’ll need ‘a big table’ he instantly said they were fully booked. So I pressed more and said you don’t know what time I need and he said ‘we’re fully booked all day’. He never checked, he clearly didn’t want book us in. When he sensed my disappointment he said ‘lunch or dinner?’ (So clearly NOT fully booked) I said 6:30 and again told me it’s fully booked. I have walked in this place on a Saturday as a table of 8 and been seated (after waiting 30 mins). They don’t need to book big tables because they get by on walk-ins but how disappointing that you can’t book with family for a birthday! The same thing happened to my friend in June. I’ve booked Bella Italia in Hoole instead! They were all too happy to accommodate us (albeit at a later time of 8pm but he at least cared enough to find a time for us) plus the food is of equal quality so we’ll take our custom to Bella Italia from now on.

Went to this restaurant on a wet tuesday night in october without booking and found it packed with people waiting for a table ,waiter said ten minutes and he was spot on and we made a great decision choosing this lovely italian. food and service were superb and prices spot on would definitely return and the fact that there were people waiting for tables speaks volumes.

The bruscetta was soaking in garlic & about 30 tomatoes on top. Pasta was OK,but tasted of tomatoes!!,

We were met by a wonderful man who was really funny and welcoming shown to our table Our server was also very engaging and informative and also allowed us to make slight tweaks to the dishes we chose (a party of six ) We ordered tomato and cheese garlic bread to share it was delicious and probably one of the best I’ve ever had Our mains were various dishes but all of our party were very impressed indeed I just have to say though the mussels ( my choice ) were absolutely amazing and lots of them We were never rushed and allowed to just take things at our pace( the meal lasted 3 hours 😀 We were the last ones out would I go back of course without a doubt Oh by the way the tiramisu magnificent 😆😆😆😆

Absolutely love this little gem! A must if you're in Chester. Reasonable prices. Booking way in advance is advised. They do accept walk ins but there may be a cramped and awkward wait around the front door. Note it is very loud and bustling (which we love, appreciate others or the elderly might not) and when it's someone's birthday it's even louder!

So good love it been there lots of times with my family and friends and they loved it as well it the bomb the garlic bread and the fries was soooo good the pasta as well
