Little Italy in North East Derbyshire

Had a lovely meal a few weeks ago after hearing lots of great views about this place. Food was great, best beef fillet my partner had ever had. Coffee and dessert were also really nice, wish the antipasti board came with some bread as a starter.

Great hospitality. Food was delicious. Romantic atmosphere Accommodated to dairy intolerance by providing a non dairy alternative.

If I could give 100 star instead of 5, I could definetely give it. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. I can't find a better words to describe marvelous place. I ate millions of steak around the world, but this place is definetely placed in top three. I can higly reccomend to try Fillet with Capri sauce. Most of the starters is also above the expected range. Alcolic drinks are affordable and presentation of everything is excellent. The owner of the restaurant (I think name is Plamena) was so smiley and Dario was so gentle to serve everything like masterpiece. Many thanks for your kindness. I will visit this place more often!

We went for our 50th wedding the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent very good portions and I would highly recommend.

Good food, good friendly service

Dinner with my girlfriend was sublime, the food was intense but light at the same time, the wine was great and the waiter was a gentleman. Cost us £100 for starters, mains and two drinks each. Tipped the waiter £10.

Tonights service was absolutely appalling!!!! We booked this to celebrate a family get together and my daughters birthday. Table booked for 6pm. We were asked to pre-order, these orders didn't come out til 6.35pm!! We were rushed through our starters. (Plates bring cleared away while people still eating and then hovered over til finished) & mains which when serving, a waitress spilt a full glass of water over my father-in-law. 81 years old!!!! No apologies just 'its only water' and we had to ask for serviettes to dry him down. His entire leg was soaked!! After mains we were asked if we wanted pudding, we asked for a bit of a breather, but after the 3rd waitress came and asked for our order within minutes of each other 7.30pm WE asked did they need to flip the table???? At this point I was told 'of course you know we need the table'!! This reply absolutely surprised me!! This discussion went on for a few minutes, with me trying to explain i didnt know to be very rudely spoken to over and over again. I was absolutely NOT told at any point that they needed the table!! I explained this numerous times just to be told 'you were told'. I was not, and if you know me, you absolutely know I would have been on it!! She basically told me I was lying!!! When the bill came, my husband didn't leave a tip because of above situations. The lady who spilt the drink then came and basically had a go at us for complaining about the drink spilage and no apologies to be told its not her decision 🤔🤔 Before leaving the restaurant I spoke to the lady and man behind the bar explaining the waitress was very rude and I was told yet again I was wrong!! 10 of us stood outside trying to organise taxis when said waitress came out to speak to us. She basically came out for an argument!! Wouldn't let me get a word in and told me I'd disrespected the rules and she had proof I was a lier and showed me a book that had names and numbers saying all of these people were told! Sorry love, this is not proof and you didn't tell me!!! I went inside and asked bar manager to bring his waitress back inside. I also told him I was extremely disappointed with the service and that I'd been coming here for years, to yet again be told so you should know our rules!! Whether I'd ever been told before, I was categorically not told they needed the table back this evening and even more so not our fault food still took half an hour to be served!! I explained to him about the drink and he said 'did this happen tonight?' Yes! To be be told by the waitress she must have been pushed. That's it, blame the lady who was sat on the table behind, of course she must have pushed the waitress!!!🙄 Our bill was over £480!!!! Even if they had just apologised for what had happened, that would have been us done BUT to actually lie and treat us the way they did, is absolutely disgusting. You need to acknowledge spilling a full drink over someone whether its wine or water!! You need to know when you are wrong and just say sorry. The food was great as always but we will not be returning!!!!!!!

We booked for a birthday arrived on time had drinks order food and wine all excellent we ask for the bill and settled up accordingly with some cash and cards £395 total we was a a dish missing garlic potatoes etc but nevertheless the rest was very good on the way out we said our goodbyes and left in the car park we was chased out by one of the staff waving our bill demanding it be paid in full IT WAS 4p SHORT by mistake too And we was a dish of potatoes missing too so maybe someone needs to have a word about this and let me no

The service was brilliant! Staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food was served fairly quickly and was absolutely delicious! We all said it's some of the nicest Italian food we've had and we would all come again.

We visited Little Italy this evening for the first time as my Birthday treat with family. It was one of the best dining experiences any of us has ever had! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food truly was out of this world - proper Italian cuisine! We had a wonderful time - thank you Little Italy for your outstanding service and delicious dining experience! Nothing was too much trouble and we will most definitely be back! :)

Arrived 5 minutes before booked time. Waited 40 minutes in a very cramped bar area stood for all that time shoulder to shoulder with other people as no seats left. They are trying to cram too many sittings in. But not attempting to hurry people to give their table up when their times up! We were late for our table then meaning next sitting would also have to stand waiting. Not acceptable The food was terrible. Me and my partner had a calzone each—-with raw dough. Dough not authentic tasting= bready. Hot chicken, cold ham, uncooked mushrooms, cheddar cheese! and a bland watery sauce was awful. Expect little Italy to be able to rustle up a decent pizza. Will not go back

We visited Little Italy for a friend's birthday and the food was amazing. I had the steak with the Al Pepe sauce which was gorgeous. One of the best steaks I've tasted in a long time. The atmosphere and service was excellent!

Oh my gosh I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Our booking was for 5.30 on a Saturday and it was full already and buzzing with an amazing atmosphere. Food is amazing and the staff are sp friendly and attentive. I cant believe this was my first time here. Definitely going back

They fitted us in to an overbooked night yet we didn’t feel rushed nor was anything compromised from the friendly attentive service to the lovely tasty food. All the staff were friendly with the perfect amount of attention at the right time. My wife’s lasagne left her thinking it was amongst one of the best she’d tasted. I always think a Calzone Pizza is a good test of a Restaurant and this one didn’t disappoint, topped up with a tomato garlic bread, a limone tart and mixed quality ice cream made a perfect experience.

Italian restaurant perfect for both date night or meal out with friends or family. Food was delicious, portions were big and served nicely. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, we’ve been looked after for the whole time. Prices are also affordable. We will definitely be back for some more Italian food. Thank you for an amazing time

10/10 best meal I’ve had for a while. Firstly, the staff are amazing, really nice and friendly service, make you feel very welcome. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection. I took pictures of the starters but the food was so nice I forgot to take a picture of our mains because I couldn’t wait to tuck in. Perfect place to go for any special occasion. The food is reasonably priced for the service and quality of food you get. I will definitely be returning for more before Christmas, can’t wait!

We have come here for years and always been so happy. A few months ago we came and we were rushed from the minute we were sat down. We thought we would try again and tonight although the food was great as always., we were rushed again! As soon as our starters were cleared, our mains arrived. We then ordered liquor coffees, which had no liquor in them and were then asked to leave our table and sit near the door as our table had been booked again. We had only been sat there just under an hour and a half. This isn’t a cheap restaurant, so would at least expect to finish my full meal at the table. The restaurant changed our coffees, but they still were the same. Feel like they try and cram too many people in.

Beautiful place, amazing food but the best thing of all were the friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and even when they are rushed of their feet they all have a lovely smile and greet everyone so lovely

I have not been here for years and what was I missing the service was Outstanding nothing was too much the lasagne was so authentic all the food was so full of flavour. I won’t leave it so long next time before I vist.

Visited last Sunday, will have to reconsider whether to dine there again. Staters were the best part of our meal. We chose pizza for the main- what a disappointment!! One was underdone, the other 2 were ok, however as the name says’Little Italy’ we did not envisage the bases to be a La Iceland’s basics. Last on the menu were the puddings; if you like your cake tasting of onions- Little Italy is the place for you! Overall, sadly disappointed!!

I visited this restaurant for lunch with my partner. To say it was quite busy, we managed to get a table but you’d need to book a table for bigger groups. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. They were so efficient, we were not waiting long for our orders to be taken or our food to come. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. I wanted to savour every mouthful. My partner had ravioli and I had a pizza and we shared fried halloumi for a starter and profiteroles for dessert. We will definitely be visiting again as we had a lovely experience and were highly satisfied. Can’t wait to try some of the other dishes available.

Please don’t let my 1 star rating deter you from eating at this restaurant. The food was fabulous as ever, as was the service. The staff and people are so attentive. You should go to this restaurant as it really is excellent. So why the 1 star review? I just left the restaurant realising what has happened. We are a table of 5 celebrating my son’s girlfriend’s 20th birthday. We arrived 7.30pm on 30th September and was shown our table. It’s clear when you book that the allocation is for 2hrs. We had a 3 course meal with drinks costing £224. At 8.45pm we are asked to leave our table in 15mins. As we had just completed our sweets (which were a little rushed) I thought no problem. 5 minutes later I was asked again to leave and go to the bar. Having no particular issue, I left the table to find the bar was full and no seats nor standing was available. As such we had to sit outside, which was far too cold. We suddenly realised that a YouTube sensation called Morgz (13 million subscribers) had occupied our seats, which explained our situation. Now clearly this is not Morgz problem, and I do not hold him responsible at all. However, upon realising what had happened, in hindsight I am really annoyed at Little Italy. Once again, the food, the staff and establishment is first class. This is actually our favourite restaurant and I can’t recommend them highly enough. However, tonight we drew the short straw and my sons girlfriend is really upset at her birthday bash being inadvertently called short. Shame on the person making the call to “oust” us from our seats, (albeit very politely) at the expense of celebrity popularity. Again, Morgz not to blame whatsoever for our experience.

Very expensive, ordered seafood linguine, it was frozen seafood and tasteless. I can make it better myself in 15 minutes when I get in from work. Wasn't even good quality, so was really disappointed as was celebrating my husbands birthday with friends. I wasn't charged for the meal but it still cost us £90 for 2 if us, that was 2 starter's, 1 dessert and drinks. Don't think we will be rushing back here anytime soon.

Went here Saturday evening and although busy we were looked after well. Excellent food. Staff were very good. Lovely atmosphere. We also come often on a Sunday lunchtime which is really good value as halfprice pizza/pasta. Reasonable vegetarian selection.

Saturday evening booking around 8pm. Place was full with a good atmosphere. Shown straight to the table by friendly greeting staff. Plenty of helpful and friendly waiting staff generally all evening. Menu is not vast but more than enough choice and sometimes smaller menus can be better. We had starters and mains, both were very tasty and presented nicely and not much of a wait at all. Nice bottle of wine about usual restaurant pricing but to be expected. Overall we both enjoyed the food and service and can see why this place has a reputation for a good dining experience. We finished with a cocktail each and out by 10pm. 10/10 Little Italy, recommended.

We normally visit little Italy once or twice a year for family birthdays. Food and service has always been excellent, with tonight being no exception. The waiting staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Food was served promptly and very hot. It was absolutely delicious. I also love that they did a smaller size portion of Lasagne for my 10 year old. Cannot fault it at all. Best Italian around. On-site parking too, which is also a bonus. Will be back very soon👍

What a beautiful meal we had ..I had the gamberoni Diavola to start ..my partner the calamari ..just so tasty and fresh …mains were the beef fillet one with Al Pepe and the other Toscana …cooked to perfection and so tender..absolutely delicious..the steaks were huge ! Great valve for the money..our first time but definitely not our last ..service was impeccable the staff very attentive..super meal

Not great . Starter £10 for two sardine size pieces of fish and that’s including the bread coating served with a minuscule amount of lettuce Music - is this not an Italian restaurant !?? Don’t understand why they are playing the music of kids Service was ok but the waitress didn’t understand English so got the order wrong we were not rude about it but they were a bit argumentative -just because you wrote it wrong doesn’t mean it was heard correctly ! The replacement pizza had hair in it possibly on purpose Pasta was delicious - like home cooked but overpriced for a few bits of chicken and penne pasta no Parmesan offered no free bread overall totally overpriced.

This place is brilliant. The food is of the highest quality and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive,without bring over the top.

Not been to Little Italy for some time but took advantage of their Sunday “Half Price Pizza & Pasta offer. Easy to find on the main road through Dronfield with parking on site. We had booked & I would definitely advise doing this as the restaurant was full all the time we were there. Great choice of foods from straightforward pizza & pasta dishes to chicken/fish/meat options. Definitely something to suit all tastes & dietary requirements. Food was absolutely delicious, served by friendly & efficient staff. Couldn’t fault our meal here, highly recommend.

Food was OK by UK standards but massively overpriced. Service was reasonably attentive. I had a Campari Soda which had hardly any Campari in it. It was deafeningly loud when we went making conversation impossible... Most of the other diners seemed to feel compelled to...
