Gelato Village in Leicester

The gelato was average, shame there were few flavours available. Also I had coffee and it was burnt.

Had a regular cup with hazelnut and pistachio. Hazelnut was very good, pistachio so so. Only thing was that there were not too many flavours to choose from.

The best place for ice cream (gelato) in Leicester. The flavour selection is great, friendly staff, reasonably priced, and the most important detail AMAZING ICE CREAM. My personal favourites are coffee, dark chocolate, and hazelnut.

Very nice Gelato, very creamy and full of flavour. Fairly standard prices these days. The staff weren’t overly friendly but they weren’t rude either, so I definitely wouldn’t dock them a star. Good little find and would happily return. I had the salted caramel and chocolate, both were very nice.

We went here for my friend’s birthday, and it was quite an interesting experience. The place had its own unique vibe, and overall, it was enjoyable.

Gelato Village offers a pleasant experience with friendly staff and a good selection of flavors. We tried two flavors: Coffee & Cream, which was average, and Pistachio, which stood out for its rich, nutty flavor. For two scoops in a cone, the price was about £5, which felt reasonable given the quality. Overall, a decent spot for gelato, especially if you're a fan of pistachio. Overall a good spot near City Center.

No estoy seguro de cómo sobrevive este lugar en el centro de la ciudad, pero voy a escribir lo que pasó cuando visitamos un sábado por la noche con mis hijos después de salir a comer con amigos. 1 . Solo había 11 opciones de sabor en el tablero, pero 4 de ellas (las que suenan bien, por supuesto) se agotaron. Así que eso dejó solo 7 sabores disponibles. ¡Un sábado por la noche! 2 . 2 de los sabores eran alguna variación de vainilla, y 2 eran variaciones de chocolate, así que no hay mucha elección, no vienes a un lugar elegante para la vainilla, y si no te gusta el helado de chocolate como a mí, entonces eso solo deja 3 opciones, pistacho, higo y un poco de brebaje con cúrcuma. El de cúrcuma salió inmediatamente para los niños ya que no pueden manejar la especia, así que básicamente casi todo el mundo fue a por el straciatella, porque ese sonaba muy bien, aparte de mí, probé el higo 3 . El higo era lo suficientemente agradable, pero debería haberse llamado "sorbete de higo", esperaba helado, pero esto no era cremoso, no hay productos lácteos creo. La textura era buena, estaba bien batida, pero cuando estás ocupado manejando a varios niños, no siempre tienes tiempo para leer la letra pequeña, hubiera sido mejor simplemente llamarlo "sorbete de higos", así quedaría claro para los demás 4 . ¡No puedes ver ninguno de los helados! Todos están cubiertos de ollas metálicas. Francamente desconcertante para una heladería, ya que la mayoría de las personas que venden alimentos le dirán que la comida también es un "festín para los ojos", y la gente toma decisiones según la apariencia. Nuestra pequeña todavía no puede hablar muy bien, así que normalmente apuntaría a un sabor del que le guste el aspecto, y nosotros le conseguiríamos eso. No podíamos hacer eso porque todo estaba en ollas de metal, así que tuvimos que adivinar qué le gustaría. 5 . Y esta fue la peor parte para cualquiera con niños pequeños. Siempre tenemos que conseguir helado en conos, porque la pequeña es una gran fan de la oblea en el cono, ella piensa que es como una galleta en forma de cono, así que no nos digas que consigamos una taza, porque ella odia eso. Entiendo que están tratando de hacer que el helado se vea hermoso, y tenga un aspecto único, etc., pero los aspectos prácticos para los padres de niños pequeños son otra cosa, y siempre habrá familias con niños visitando heladerías, porque a los niños les encanta el helado. Así que cuando nos dieron el cono, pasé el primer minuto tratando de empujar la falda exterior de nuevo en la parte superior y empujarla hacia el cono, para que no solo colgara alrededor del lado para una persona pequeña que aún no entiende que tienes que lamer desde la parte inferior y los lados primero para evitar la pérdida del helado. Entiendo lo que ustedes están tratando de hacer, y como alguien que hace helado en casa, yo mismo, puedo respetar las elecciones de ingredientes y el pensamiento profundo que obviamente ha entrado en las elecciones de sabor e incluso la fuente de ingredientes. Solo necesitas más opciones, que podamos ver, y para tratar de hacerlo un poco más amigable para los niños, para los padres con niños pequeños. De lo contrario, diría que es mejor venir aquí con amigos adultos que no se quejarán de tener solo un puñado de opciones de sabor y probablemente apreciarán y les gustará la forma en que están de moda las cucharadas.

Hands down one of my favourite places in Leicester. I always try and come here when in the middle of Leicester. The flavours are all excellent, and make use of local ingredients. Whilst remaining authentic and reasonably priced. The Gelato is second to none and service is always excellent. I encourage anyone in need of a sweet treat to drop by.

Best gelato we’ve ever had (in the UK)! We used to come here all the time some years ago, have now moved from Leicestershire but still make a stop when visiting the area.

It's the best in Leicester and had there been a greater range of flavours, it can easily be at the top of any gelatetia I've had. That being said the flavours aren't bad I just wish there were more to give me an excuse to come back and try. Seen some mixed reviews about prices... personally think really reasonably priced especially given that gelato is almost twice the price down south for equal quality. Overall a great stop in a great location. Would recommend.

I've visited today. Could not pay in cash so this place has lost a client. Not for me. Shame on you for discriminating people wanting to pay in cash.

Lovely gelato, many vegan options!

It’s a nice afternoon on Tuesday. We tried dark chocolate, pistachio and mango lassi. Real gelato here, not ice cream. I’m glad that I came all the way here and get what I’m expecting for. It opens at 13:00 and it had five flavors sold out at 15:30. Rich flavor in it, definitely will come back and try some other flavors as well.

So good! Some of the best ice-cream have ever tasted. Great flavours and the real deal homemade ice-cream. Chairs outside to sit and enjoy the flavours.

Range of in house gelato, available to eat in or take away. You can also buy boxes to enjoy at home. Absolutely delicious! Get there early if you want Richard III as it's often sold out.

Still the best Gelato this side of the Alps and possibly even better than what you find in Italy. Absolutely fantastic.

The ricotta flavour is delicious! Mango lassi and Gianduia is also good. The staff called Prachi is super friendly. We like her very much!

We took several friends from out of town to introduce this very delicious ice cream shop to taste real Italian ice cream. Very disappointed with the attitude of one of the employees (the tall bearded one) in the store😑. Do not purchase during busy hours, and do not affect other customers' queuing time. Ask to try the taste before buying. After trying two flavors, the waiter said that each person could only choose two flavors to taste. When asked to try one more kind, his attitude was really not very good and he hit it vigorously with an ice cream spoon. Use body language to act out our dissatisfaction. Ice cream is 100 points Bad service attitude 🚫

So happy Gelato Village is back at St Martins. Literally the only place I would go for Gelato is just so good. Can't recommend it enough as all the flavours are just incredible especially the Salted caramel. Very friendly staff, store is always immaculate and service is quick. If I could I would live there for the summers.

Without a doubt, this is the best gelato in town however, the recent changes such that only one flavour of gelato is allowed in the smaller cones doesn't bode well, particularly when purchasing a premium product for younger children. Whether a cone is being filled with one flavour or two flavours wouldn't the cost be the same? Seriously think management ought to review this change in policy as its unaffordable to purchase a larger cone size to have the choice of 2 or 3 flavours particularly when a child may not be able to eat a larger cone size resulting in food waste.

Extremely nice staff. Unfortunately the flavor I picked I did not enjoy. I ordered stracciatella because of found memories of enjoying it in Italy; the quality was lacking. It tasted like cheap gelato. I am perplexed by this experience because I sought out Gelato Village because it was my understanding that they made authentic gelato...maybe I just ordered on a bad day (?)

Amazing Gelato! I've travelled the whole of Italy from Lake Como to Naples and Turin to Venice enjoying a good many gelatos in every place I visited. No where makes gelato like Italy... except Gelato Village in Leicester. We just happened upon this gelateria today and it was amazing!!! I'd highly recommend the pistachio flavour. Apart from the good ole British weather, when you step inside this gelateria, you could easily be in Italy! I love this place! Yum!

Delicious! Really friendly staff. Very knowledgeable too. They make a "bicerin" coffee which I've never seen outside of Italy.

Hands down best Gelato. There's a wide range of flavours to choose from no matter the weather! The staff are always really friendly as well.

You just can't visit Leicester without stopping in at this exceptional Gelato Shop. Service is excellent. Staff are friendly and the choice is out of this world. They boast amazing flavours and Gluten Free options for those interested. Each bite is heavenly!! We always stop in before our journey home. Never a disappointment.

I truly enjoy the gelato on offer here and have for many many years, the quality is far superior to anything else on offer in Leicester and they clearly care about sourcing highly delicious and uncompromising ingredients. when they opened a mini branch closer to where I lived I waited in a long queue heavily pregnant just to get one(I even fainted) worth it. Now I’m taking my daughter there for mini licks of whatever I’m getting and I’m always filled with joy every time. If you’re seeking blue icecream and sprinkles this isn’t the place for you (and you probably shouldn’t be trusted in any capacity of life).

Very average. Both the pistachio and the fior de latte lacked in flavour and I could taste the sugar, in an unpleasant way.

They are allergy friendly! Allergens are listed out and they have individual scoops for each flavours to minimise cross contamination. A mini scoop is bigger than expected!

I absolutely loved the gelato at this gelateria! The flavors were amazing and the gelato was delicious. However, I did notice that the staff seemed a bit lazy and not as attentive as I would have hoped. Overall, great gelato but room for improvement in service.

We visited a couple of weeks ago from Coventry to try the Crema gelato with the Mexican vanilla. It's the best we've ever tasted, it was soft and smooth with a outstanding flavour. Friendly staff and highly recommended.👍👍

Closest you will get Italian ice cream in the Midlands, me and my wife have been driving to Leicester from Nottingham for years just to come here! As nothing comes close where we live. My only negative feedback is that they don't have a shop in Nottingham, which they should as they would make a fortune! If you want to eat ice cream as it should be eaten, this is the place to go!

I visited Gelato Village yesterday with my partner. We were greeted by two lovely and friendly members of staff. We ordered the delicious affogatos and we asked for advice as to what flavours would be a good match. The staff were incredibly helpful and insightful, offering us the opportunity to give the wide range of options a taste beforehand. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back for more yummy gelato!

I tried the gelato for the first time a couple of days ago and instantly became a fan, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I went back the next day to try the coffee and gelato Village will be my regular coffee fix too.
