Just an honest review with guinuine comments which I hoped will be used constructively. Booked table. Arrived on time and no table ready for me and my family. Drinks took ages to bring out. Finally when we were seated food was bought out randomly with some guests eating wat before another. Pizza was okay, fresh ingredients but very dough heavy and a big stodgy. Not like a Neapolitan which you'd expect from an authentic pizzeria. Crispy base with a leopard pattern on a light fluffy crust. Just didn't even get close. Atmosphere was okay but the toilets were not clean. I don't know if the business has been taken over but things need to improve!

If I could leave zero stars, I absolutely would! This was my first and last time ordering from this disgusting restaurant. I ordered two pizzas, and to my absolute horror, one of them had blonde hair baked right into it! My husband almost ate it—imagine how disgusting that is. The carelessness and lack of hygiene here are unbelievable. If you value your health and appetite, avoid this place at all costs. I honestly hope they shut down soon and wake up because this kind of filth has no business serving customers. Absolutely repulsive.

Came in with my child of 4 years. They had a margherita pizza. It was all well until the supposed “manager” (a lady with curly hair. Forgive me if I’m mistaken) of this establishment proceeded to be quite rude to her staff members. I get it can be a stressful job however I do not appreciate the rather colourful language my daughter heard and would advise you to be more professional and take it to the back of house. Apart from that the chefs know what they’re doing. I had a very happy stomach at the end of my meal, although like before the only appetite my daughter had was for some rather naughty words.

Wasn't bad, but £30 is very expensive for 1 pizza, 1 small garlic bread and 1 small chips.

The team at Dough What were so accommodating. We had just about half an hour to eat between shows at the Leicester Comedy Festival. We pre-ordered our pizzas and arrived to find our table in the heaving restaurant waiting for us. Drinks were ordered and brought to our table very promptly and our perfect fresh pizzas followed quickly after. We look forward to returning when we have a little longer to savour the stunning pizzas. Thank you Dough What team - you were amazing.

Food was good however there’s better in Leicester such a Maurizio's and on par with Peter pizza. we weren’t made to feel very welcome by what seemed like the manager, however the waiter was lovely. OVERCHARGED! £3.20 for a small bottle of water is robbery. Also the lunch offer was not applied to our bill it was our fault for not checking. Our drinks were forgotten about so we ended up taking them away in a takeout right at the end. No apology was made. But we won’t be returning sadly.

Great pizza bases, delicious toppings and friendly service! Really enjoyed it and it’s my new favourite pizza restaurant. Highly recommended.

Went to visit Dough what in Leicester and it is by far the best pizza place we have visited. I have the vegeteriana picante deep dish and my wife had the gluten free vegeteriana and it was the best gluten free pizza she has had in the U.K. which is a hard achievement due to the dough process, we also ordered the Parmesan truffle fries which are a must! Great service we were served by a young man who was very accommodating and the owner is lovely too. We will be back!

It was a very very bad experience! I went there with my partner and 2 of my friends, and we all regret it. First of all, and the most important thing, staff and manager behaviour was more than awful. There was a middle-aged woman who I think was the manager, and she had a very bad behaviour. E.g. we asked why did it take too long to bring our food? She answered imploitely like we have never been in any other restaurants. Other staff behaviour was also unprofessional and unpleasant. They do not even have a coat hanger and we had to put our jackets on the floor. About the food, it was very normal and had nothing amazing, simply good but not something you want to try again. And the atmosphere, was not good nor bad.

We went there for a friendly hangout, but I think we could’ve chosen a better place! The food quality was average, and everything felt pretty ordinary.

Beautiful pizzeria in a central location. A large selection of toppings that will satisfy even the most demanding. The mushroom pizza I chose was excellent, although I wish it had less oil. Will visit again for sure!

Decent pizza, but little things let down the overall experience. Rubbish truffle fries with very little flavour and the chilli dipping sauce served at an additional cost was so clearly straight from one of those generic 'kebab shop' bottles you can buy at macro en masse. If you're gonna sell dips separately, should really make sure they're of a standard worth paying for if you don't want your customers to leave feeling ripped off. I know it's only a quid, but I'd rather be charged more and have something of quality.

If you have an hour or 5 to spare come for dinner, perfect place

Pizzas were delicious, our fave was the Chicago deep dish. Definitely will be visiting again soon.

It is a great pizza place that serves traditional Italian Neopolitan style pizza, along with plenty of other dishes. One involves pasta served inside a "bowl" of pizza dough, which looked very appetising. The only thing I would change are a few more options for extra toppings on the pizzas, things like king prawns. I recommend this place if you like classic pizza and a good atmosphere.

The Pizza's were tasty (although in my opinion not as good as Martin Bros) The sides of Fries were very very small and low quality and the truffle and Parmasan fries barely tastes of anything at all. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, possibly about 50% capacity but the order was still not quite right and the lady serving us seemed uninterested and a little rude. All in all I could recommend popping in if you just need a quick pizza (but avoid the fries to avoid disappointment) when you are in town but if you are going for a bit more than a quick bite then Leicester offers many better places for the full dining experience.

Pasta was dry and sauce tasted old, staff gossiping about customers very blatantly behind the counter, waited an hour for our food after being sent away for 2 hours because there was miscommunication in the booking, attitude and avoidance from waiting staff, no friendly welcome on entry, not even a smile

Food was actually very good. However, it took over an hour for the pizza’s to arrive. It seems as though they take a lot of delivery orders, which made the queue for in house very long. Seems as everyone was turning around looking towards the pizza oven, asking “when’s my pizza coming.” The restaurant has the potential to be a really good pizza place, but the management towards it seems a-bit laissez faire. Boxes left on chairs, out door signs in the dinning area, weird decor and piles of menus left on vacant table. Food is of good quality, but I’d assume that ordering when you are not in a rush, would be a better suggestion; as the whole in house experience was lacking.

Best pizza in Leicester, lovely people there too. Highly recommend! Vegan cheese is also available, vegan chocolate fudge cake was lovely too!

Took a trip to Dough What as part of Leicester Restaurant Week and ate the most incredible pasta in a pizza bowl. My friend and I couldn't decide which to try so we ordered two separate ones and shared and both were great, though the truffle butter just tipped it for me. Great bite to the pasta, delicious pizza dough which doubled up as a perfect sponge for all the sauce. Officially starting the petition to make that a menu regular, it was the absolute best of both worlds. Very cute little venue, attentive and friendly staff and well priced, even without LRW deals.

Food arrived 45 minutes after ordering and there was no apology for the significant delay.Pizza bowl was fine but the pasta was very bland and didn't fill much of the bowl. Was quite overpriced for what we paid and they didn’t have all the options available that we wanted to order. The atmosphere wasn’t an issue, it was busy and it felt lively but the service was poor and likely suffered because of how busy they were. The manager was not accommodating at all and came across as rude and unbothered. For example, she didn’t mention all the items that are included in the dish we ordered and it was instead left to another member of staff to explain this to us and provide us will all components of our meal. While I can understand the food not being to our liking, the least I expect is friendly service and this was the exact opposite of that. Will not be coming again while they are under the same management.

TL;DR version: I recommend for the food. The pizza I picked was the most basic one - Marinara, containing tomato sauce, basil, and olive oil. I try the basics first because getting the basics right means the rest is a bonus. The service faulted in one area: they assumed I wanted to take out, so I was surprised when they handed me a takeout box. I clarified that I wanted to dine in (I was sat at a table). They rectified within a couple of minutes and I had an unrestricted dining experience. The place looked clean but some makeshift prep station on the corner kinda detracted from the cozy experience. Full review: I am a pizza lover (Italian/Brazilian background). This place opened a couple of years ago and due to a very busy life I have only been able to try it now. I believe in always trying the most basic thing first, if the quality is good that means they understand how to make food. Kinda like chefs test cooks by asking them to make omelette. I went for the Marinara. The sauce was fresh and tasted vibrant, slightly acidic with sweet notes from the added basil. The basil was fresh, one big leaf on each quarter slice. The olive oil was sharp and fragrant and tasted herbaceous. The sauce was smooth on the most part with good textural balance and color. They don't have a wood fired oven which initially concerned me a little but I was amazed that they could get an elastic, thin crust with a crisp char on the base and good inflation on the edges also with excellent charring, a hallmark of Neapolitan pizza. Service was friendly but faulted in two areas. First the positives: I asked the lead time, she said 15 mins and delivered roughly within the stated timescale. When the pizza was delivered it came in a box which baffled me! I was never asked if I wanted takeout or dine in. I asked for a table, and said I'd sit by the window which she said was ok. This was a walk in with no reservation, there were a few diners there already, but not full. When she tried to hand me the box I said I was dining in, they took it back and served it to me on a plate. I thought sitting at a table would indicate they should set the table but that didn't happen, so I also had to ask for cutlery as they assumed I'd manhandle the pizza? A small oversight, I hope they can improve on that. Payment was taken promptly as soon as I ordered, which was great but probably happened because she thought I was taking out. I would have preferred to pay at the end, as I was dining in. She offered me a complimentary espresso (and pronounced espresso correctly ☺️) which made me smile. I had lots of coffee already and it was getting late so I politely declined but appreciated the thought. I am satisfied with the pizza and look forward to going back. This is a place you should definitely check out if you're in Leicester and want a tasty pizza made quickly and well. It earns my recommendation for using good quality ingredients and displaying true Neapolitan qualities on the product such as the elasticity of the crust, how well cooked it was, and the perfect charring that adds an extra dimension of flavor complimenting the sweet nature of basil and sharpness of good tomato sauce. For under £10 I left satisfied as the pizza was perfectly dimensioned and with light ingredients it left me with a smile on my face.

Dough what looks unassuming from the outside but it’s got fantastic quality. Personally it’s my favourite pizza you can get in Leicester. The staff is also friendly and it has served me well during my two years in Leicester (my first and last meal). Recommend Nduja and red onions.

Dough what has to be my favourite pizza in Leicester, we had the meat feast dough what pizza. The staff were lovely, the restaurant was busy but not too loud, which meant for a good atmosphere. We were accidentally charged for buratta which the restaurant was out of, but the staff were super quick at responding to our email queries and got us refunded for this right away. Couldn’t fault the pizza or the staff!

All pizzas are available as GF options, I haven't had so much choice on a menu for eight years!

10/10 visit today the food was really good and our waiter Ed was amazing! We love this place

A wet Tuesday night in leicster Dodging rain skipping from shelter to shelter I made my way through the town to find some dinner my eye was caught by a sign that read ‘best deep dish pizza in the midlands’ A challenge I found hard to ignore The entrance was a bit confusing it set up like a reception or greeting area but isn’t, i was approached quickly when staff noticed I was present. I was told when ordering that the marinara that I chose didn’t come with cheese and I had to pay an extra £3 As I understood it deep dish marinara has the cheese below and the sauce at the top So I was a little baffled about the price hike until the pizza arrived The pizza was for take out. Polite staff did ask if i wanted to sit in. But politely declined I was told 15 mins wait time so I decided to go to a local shop, so when the pizza was done the waitress came outside in the treacherous weather to look for me I wasn’t there very good pizza 8.3/10

I had this pizza place on my bucket list and so glad to finally try on a rainy day! We had truffle pizza and the vegetable pizza vegan and garlic bread, tomato and basil bread with skin on fries and dips. Pizza was yummy. Staff were friendly and welcoming and Urmi (hope I spelt her name correctly) she was so bubbly and gave us a free garlic mayo dip. Food was amazing and will definitely come here again.

Wanted pasta but saw lot of pizza display. So decided to go to pasta place across. However reception/ manager called us and we mentioned we wanted pasta. Reply was that there was pasta. But was disappointed to see only 3 pasta dishes( no meat or fish). Pizza was nice but would have preferred if they didn't mislead us about the pasta as there wasn't much pasta choice. Wanted a specific drink on menu, felt belittled by my choice by same manager. Else place looks fine, waitresses nice, pizza tastes nice. But don't go here for pasta

Visited on a Sunday. Delicious pizza but experience ruined by rude service. Waitress was sassy, cold and abrupt. As someone who has worked in the service industry and always tried my best, I was surprised by such an unwelcoming experience. I’m sad that I can’t come again because the food was delicious!

Just been for dinner with the family. Can't fault this place. From the minute we walked in. We were promptly seated but then we did have a reservation. We were given the menus. Which were basically paper menus on clipboards. Novel but thought it was a little pointless. But I guess it's part of the quirkiness of the place. We placed our order and the food was promptly served piping hot and delicious. It's quite a small place but atmosphere was great. There was a large group behind us with small children and babies so it was loud. But no bother as they were families. All in all a great place with amazing authentic rustic pizzas. Would definitely recommend a try.

We were a work group requiring a delivery late at night. Dough What were very accommodating, communication was great. We pre ordered our pizzas and shared salad and fries. The delivery was spot on and the pizzas, fries and salad were all delicious. Thank you and would highly recommend.

Visited DoughWhat with my partner and 2 kids, was originally told they had Gluten Free pizza bases as I'm in tolerent, ordered drinks and was disappointed to then be told actually they had sold out after a drinks had come over, we was toying with leaving, but then I assumer the manager/owner came over, once she had realised what had happened she went above and beyond! Made me an amazing Gluten Free pasta and garlic bread, the service was exceptional, we all really enjoyed our meals and also the wine, perfect example of correcting a potential issue, would highly recommend, brilliant!!

Pizza look, smell, and taste absolutely delicious. I would recommend adding the tandoori chicken onto any pizza. The only negative is that my pizza looked more burnt than others. But maybe they’re meant to be like that. I would prefer less time in the oven for mine. Wife’s pizza looked 10/10. Ordered Lime Soda however was disappointed it came in the smallest glass. If it weren’t overly burnt and drinks were cheaper for such a small glass, it would have been a five star dining out review. Will be going back for sure. Great service.

Food was delicious and is all made fresh, so dietary requirements weren't an issue at all. I'm a vegan that doesn't eat onions or garlic and this was no issue whatsoever. The pizza, the chips and the desserts were outstanding. The vegan chocolate fudge cake and lotus biscoff pizza were so good that I will definitely be back for more. Definitely be going back!

We were visiting Leicester for the evening and by chance came across Dough What. Genuinely the most delicious pizza we have had in a very long time. Service was quick and attentive. We do not live nearby, which is probably a good thing for my waistline 🤤 Will 100% visit again if we find ourselves back in Leicester.

We did a big order from Dough What for a birthday party at the real ale classroom last week. The team at Dough What were brilliant from start to finish. They provided great advice of how much food would be needed and not too pushy about offering too much, they even offered to cook more pizzas on the night as needed. On the afternoon itself, the team set up a table with all the food on theirselves, making it very pain free for me having to set anything up and socialise with guests. They even staggered the delivery of pizzas so that we always had warm pizzas. The pizzas were all amazing and guests were constantly commenting about the pizzas being “very delicious” and saying they’d need to go some day soon to the restaurant.

This restaurant is not to be missed!! The food was incredible. We tried garlic bread, nepolitan, and deep dish bases (all vegan options), and they were incredible. The atmosphere is lovely & staff are friendly & attentive (whilst being very busy). Recommend this place to anyone that loves a proper, authentic pizza. Definitely the best pizza in Leicester, if not the Midlands (I've tried a lot of pizza)!

We tried a neapolitan and deep pan pizza. Both pizzas had a decent taste to them but nothing that would blow you away. The neapolitan cornicione was a tight structure making it a very doughy texture. The crust only had a slight crispness to it and was completely soft on my neapolitan Margherita.

Visited at lunch time, not too busy. Great friendly service and lovely pizza. Definite disappointment was the affogato. Previously had it with a thick helping of ice cream all around the inside of the glass/cup, with the coffee poured on the middle, makes for a thick creamy affogato - had this several times in Italy. Unfortunately,I was served with coffee and a dollop of ice cream. The ice cream had shards of ice indicating that the ice cream has already melted and then refrozen. This is the reason for marking down from 5 stars

If I could give a one star I would . I came here on Saturday around 6pm and I was rudely dealt with by the front of house with curly hair and blue jeans and curly hair immediately when I came in I was not welcome at all to which she looked at me like I did not belong in the restaurant I choose to sit and dine inside to which I was shown a space at the back which I was fine and one minute into sitting down this rude member of staff which I suppose was a supervisor came straight to me requesting what I wanted to it and I told her to give me 5 minutes as I am indecive as this was my first time coming to this restaurant and then one minute and she came back to which I told her she needed to give me time and then she gave me the dirtiest look that made me so uncomfortable I was scared. Hoping she would not come back again I made eye contact with another member of staff which was from an Asian background and she was lovely after that the rude supervisor saw me charging my phone at the back which she proceeded to tell me off in a restaurant full of people for charging my phone ?????? When the plug was right at the back of me . I brushed that off because I had already ordered my food and what made me contemplate my presence was clearly not wanted here was when the rude girl came up to me before my food had arrived and asked me to pay for my food when I clearly witnessed with my two eyes her taking payment for the two people who sat next to me after their meal . To which I left the restaurant because you would think in 2024 this sort of behaviour would be acceptable to a black young girl going on a solo date on their own . Clearly someone needs more training on customer service and equality and no discrimination

Deep dish pizza is really good. The standard crust is fresh, but the deep dish is the star of the show. Good service too. Prices are steep these need to come down I feel as I wouldn't return at this price in a hurry.

The best pizza we’ve had! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here, bruschetta pizza and fries were all delicious. You can tell everything is made fresh. Our 2 year old loved it too. Great service. Thank you!

We visited a few weeks ago and I am SO glad that we did. The service was brilliant, the speed and efficiency was great. And now on to the main event, the pizza... The pizza? INCREDIBLE. I opted for the vegan deep pan Chicago style and my goodness, it was DELICIOUS. So, so, so tasty. Full of flavor. Dough What is now possibly my favorite pizza place anywhere. Delicious food, great staff and a quirky little location. Keep up the fantastic work. I can't wait to go and enjoy the delicious pizza later today, 10/10.

Went Saturday lunchtime - my (gluten free) pizza was lovely, staff were really friendly. It was nice to try somewhere that you walk past a lot but never go into. I would definitely go back.

Just had a lovely lunch here today. Beautifully cooked and freshly made pizza. Very good quality and home made. The fries were really tasty too. It was delicious. Service was excellent — All the staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way. We sat outside as it was a warm day which was nice. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely come here again.

Good pizza, fairly priced. The pizza was well cooked and presented. A fair amount of varied toppings. On one of our Pizza, we asked for a change of toppings, this was given, without any hesitation. Overall a good pizza. No sudden and embarrassing to remove, appearance of the service charge, for a normal expected service. The acoustics in the place are noisy. A small place when full can make the place noisy.

Hands down the best pizza spot in town! The baileys tiramisu was also soo good a must try!

A place that I keep coming back too from time to time, it’s great! So many food options, finally a place that has so a variety of vegetarian options! Tried the pasta and pizza and I love both (but defo the pasta more). Service can be slow and food can take a while which is a slight shame but always happy to get good food at the end of it!
