It’s a lovely small restaurant, with caring and attentive staff, and the best Italian food I’ve had. Definitely recommend the lasagna. The portion sizes are excellent and the price is very good as well.

I cannot praise Alto Mondo enough. We had a meal on Friday 12th July. Service was first class, food was top quality as usual and due to a small medical problem my Auntie had, the staff exchanged her meal without any fuss. Thank you to everyone who works there.

We went to altro mondo for dinner last night before a gig in Leicester. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are the nicest friendly people you'll meet and the food is to die for. If you're in Leicester you need to go eat here 😋

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The staff are lovely, the food is excellent and a great place to eat pre theatre (Curve being 2 minutes walk away). It is genuinely a fantastic place to enjoy Italian food!

What a great find was a way for work and we found this and thought we would try. staff were friendly and welcomed us got us seated. There was a large party in and they asked if we got ordered that they would make sure our food was out first which they did. The food was great and true Italian some of the best I have had outside of Italy. Services was to notch too.

What a lovely place! Visited with my sister for a pre-theatre treat. Staff very friendly and food was very good and reasonably priced. Very clean too! Shame it’s in a grim part of Leicester - they deserve better. Well done

A first time visit before a show at the Curve Theatre so a very early start (5pm) for dinner. Not our usual style so was really looking forward to seeing how it would work out. Friends had said how good the food and service were from their own experiences. I would go beyond that. Apart, as you would expect from such an early start, it being very quiet, everything else was exceptional. From the warm welcome to the final espresso nothing could be faulted. The quality of all our meals (6 in the party), was exceptional, the service just what you wanted - quiet, unobtrusive, friendly and spot on with timings. A window table looking out over a blue Mediterranean vista would have rounded the meal perfectly, instead we looked out on a building site in a very soggy Leicester! Not to worry, we can all dream. We will be back very soon, but a little later in the evening so that we can also experience the buzzy atmosphere talked about by friends. Great value for money and an absolute gem of a restaurant.

A fantastic restaurant - whether the main menu or pre-Theatre menu. Location convenient for The Curve theatre. Great choices on the pre-Theatre menu. Staff lovely and Chef & kitchen staff have presented quality food time after time. (I have been there several times before too and will again when next in Leicester attending The Curve). Timely service and the mains and desserts were lovely. THANK YOU. Credit due. Never disappointed, nor will you be. Highly recommended. 10/10

Amazing food!! Definitely go back a third time…this was our second. The pre-theater steak was to die for!! Very attentive staff.. The price is very much in line with the quality of food. The atmosphere is amazing and nice and relaxed.

We visited today as a party 10 and the service was impeccable, The food was fantastic and the staff also and it was such a relaxed experience considering how many there were of us. Will definitely visit again!

My visit to Altro Mondo in Leicester was average overall. The food was decent but lacked distinction, and the service was passable but not particularly attentive. While it's an okay option for a quick meal, it doesn't offer anything memorable or exceptional for me.

I went to this restaurant with my brother for his graduation, we have an amazing night, we are vegetarians and I was happy to see the options for vegetarians in the menu, we tried the risotto with vegetables and the calzone vegetarian, everything was lovely. I’ll come for sure

Amazing food before the show, with my fiancé with we decided to have a meal before the show and we tried the pre theatre menu, the chicken was amazing, and the steak was delicious. Very good price and nice staff.

The filleto Rosmarino is to die for, good portion, very nice staff and amazing environment, I went with my mother, and she loved everything. We come back soon.

I highly recommend this place. After the show in the Curve, We went for a dinner with my partner and the food was amazing, we ordered the calamari and prawns for starters and then we decided to try the Steak Mozarella and the pork with Mushrooms, those were absolutely fantastic. In the end we decided to finish our meal with a lovely portion of profiterols, they were fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back.

The atmosphere amazing and staff as well. I ordered the calamari and loved it.Really good ones and also, penne amatriciana,the taste was really good,like home-made but pasta was a bit too forced al dente,I should’ve mentioned it to them to boil pasta more for me. But next time for sure🥰🙏🏼 Really recommend.

This is a very nice place for dinner. We went on a weekday and it was rather empty. The ambience was modest but done well. The service was very good, I have to point out. We had the mixed platter for two and it was quite good. For dessert I had the tiramisu. It came out freshly made and was very good. I can heartily recommend this place.

This is probably one of my favorite resturants in leicester, how is it not packed all of the time. Very good and reasonably priced food, better and fresher tasting than oggi, green door and sappori , give it a try you wont regret it x

I’ve had risotto a few times and I never liked it. I still don’t like risotto. If you like risotto I’m sure you’d love their seafood risotto. I still had to add salt, pepper, and fresh Parmesan. My husband loved his puttanesca and my son loved his lasagna. The espresso was fantastic. The cheesecake was more whipped cream like to me. We also had a bottle of white wine from Italy. We had all this food and it was way cheaper than most restaurants we’ve been to. I’d go back and get seafood pasta instead of the risotto. The staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. This place is definitely worth a visit. If I ever go to Italy I would try risotto there and then I’d know for sure if I’m not a fan lol 😝 until then, pasta only. 🧡

We’ve been coming here for years now and it’s never falters. Food is delicious and authentic, staff are so welcoming and attentive and it’s great fun coming on a Friday or Saturday evening. Haven’t sampled the party menu but given the quality of the food I imagine it’s a steal at £27 per person for 4 courses. Definitely recommend, a hidden gem in Leicester.

It might not have been the prettiest plate of food I've eaten but I could not fault the taste. My steak was cooked to absolute rare perfection, one of the best I can remember! The dolcelate sauce was heavenly and I ate more of the potato wedges than I probably should trying to mop it all up! The staff were friendly and helpful, on hand for anything we needed without hovering. If I had to criticise anything, it would be the lack of a side plate for the very generous (everything about the portions was generous) salad that came with the meal. Can't believe I hadn't found this place before, will definitely be returning!

We booked a table for early on a Wednesday evening and found we were the only diners in a large restaurant. As a consequence the general atmosphere wasn't wonderful. The quality of the food and service made up for it,however. Located in the centre of Leicester with reasonable on street parking close by.

This restaurant had amazing and tasty food. The service was fantastic and servers were working so hard to ensure we had everything we needed. Couldn’t fault a thing. Thank you for a great evening. Will definitely be coming back again.

Went for a 50th birthday party. Brilliant night, food was delicious and the karaoke was a blast. Staff were excellent, particularly Angie and the other girl who worked so hard to make it a night to remember. Kudos to to the karaoke entertainer (Steve?) And to Angie for joining us on the karaoke. Would definitely recommend and be returning?

We made a spur of the moment visit to the restaurant based on its good reviews and we’re not disappointed. We were in early as we were visiting the theatre later. The staff reassured us that they would get us served and away in time and had a pre theatre menu offer. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and things were well run even though the owners were away that week. Excellent food and drink was provided. Everything was very well done and at a very reasonable price. We will be back,

We had another lovely meal here on Saturday evening. It was busy but we were looked after brilliantly by Ana and her brother Milui. What a hard working pair and so smiley and pleasant. They are a credit to the business.

Problem with this place is short staff and ignorant and intolerant owners. By this I mean that you can’t request a single change from any item on the menu. You can’t request they don’t put a certain topping on a pizza. You can ask for it to be less spicey. And the poor waitress is running around chasing her tail. She is lovely but the owners aren’t. Food is hit and miss.

Had the set summer menu as it was a leaving do. Food was nice though I'm not sure i would have served salad with the lamb. Karaoke was a laugh and everyone sang along. Only down fall of the evening, was if paying by card for drinks at the bar, the minimum spend was £20. Take cash with you.

Visited on the weekend based on reviews. A really pleasant experience only slight let down was the inedible lamb chops that were served as part of the mixed grill.Thankfully the portion size was generous enough that we were still full and once we pointed it out, swift action was taken to put things right. The karaoke lent a really nice atmosphere, and the service staff was top-notch, professional. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

The meals are freshly cooked and are amazing The staff are friendly and very accomodsting. We were a large group of 12 people bug the service was amazing. Deffinitly will be going back

We visited Altro Mondo two weeks running prior to going to the nearby theatre. They have an extensive menu for pre theatre and À la carte of traditional Italian meals. The quality of the food and presentation is exceptional. We were really well looked after in terms of service. The restaurant is immaculate. It is well laid out and a pleasure to dine in. A great place for quality food and service in a relaxing environment.

Delicious!! We’ve tried the place as it was recommended by our friends and I cannot express how amazing the food is! We been served by Ana which it is such a lovely person and also Mihai looked after us. Steak and pollo parmegiano was extremely delicious! Overall will recommend 100% ! We will definitely return.

We had tickets for the theatre and wanted to eat before. Some places are fairly slow in serving, so we allowed a generous couple of hours. We needn’t have worried. The service was efficient, friendly and generally spot on. The pre theatre menu is great value and offers a good choice of dishes. Ours were very tasty, and we had time to add great puddings too. I was not surprised to see that the place was filling up with customers by six pm, so it would be wise to book.

I would have put 1 star because the waitresses were not very accommodating or welcoming. The food was bag average where I didn't eat the steak. (Why would a chef let steaks like these leave his kitchen) but I've added 2 stars to a 3...

The staff are very welcoming & happy to help with any needs. Entertainment was great. We had such a laugh. We are returning customers. Highly recommend

Booked this restaurant based on it being highly rated, however the food was terrible. Food was bland and we ordered a calzone that came out deep fat fried with oil sitting on top of it. When questioned, it was argued by the waitress that this...

The food was ok, not seasoned at all and very little flavouring. The french fries we ordered came as a big portion in a bowl bit were VERY oily. Wont be visiting again unfortunately

You don't come here for the food, but the atmosphere with the karaoke was great.. note that you need cash on the bar and no card payments less than £20. They do not allow you to run a tab. Drinks are expensive.
