What a lovely afternoon at Veeno! The staff really know their stuff and are so polite and friendly. Would recommend the veeno coffee (Amaretto, espresso, double cream).

The food was delicious and the atmosphere as well as the service were impeccable! Hardeep made me the best mojito and Aperol Spritz I had in a while and Lene gave me amazing recommendations about the food and the pairings that came with it. In fact , I ended up eating a grand board on my own which was absolutely fantastic. Grazie mille, Lene! The service was amazing and Lene and Hardeep made my experience one to remember. I will come again!

From the outset this place is amazing, a lovely venue that’s beautifully decorated and feels truly authentic. The wine list is incredibly varied and our fantastic waitress Lene was able to offer recommendations based on our pallet and preferences (we went for Zibibbo as recommended and it was 10/10). The food choices are authentic and there’s so much to choose from. You know you’re in trusted Italian hands when the carbonara doesn’t have cream in… although we ultimately went for the Grande Board - WOW!! Couldn’t recommend this enough. The waitress brought this out and explained her favourite flavour pairings - all of which were amazing by the way. We truly didn’t want it to end, a spectacular array of meats and cheeses. Last but certainly not least - our waitress LENE!!! She made this already 10/10 experience a 100/10 (hence the 5* isn’t enough). From the outset she was helpful, passionate, attentive, knowledgable and an all round fantastic host. She even taught us some Italian so not only did we leave this restaurant sufficiently wined and dined, we were also educated; what more could you want? Lene could not have given us a better experience, a real asset to this place. Her recommendations were brilliant, and her enthusiasm and knowledge regarding the menu was unmatched. Thank you so much, we’d return solely to receive this level of service again. I’ve never wanted to return to a place as quickly as I want to go back here. It’s a must try, you will not regret it!!

This was our first visit to this little gem and it certainly won’t be our last! The staff were lovely, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. I had the classic tiramisu for dessert as recommended and it was delicious…I’ll be back for the Sicilian version! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Veeno had a very nice atmosphere and friendly service. Strongly recommend to anyone who likes a good Italian dish in the UK.

Had a wine and nibbles experience here, never been before, in fact I wasn’t even aware of the place. What a great experience, marek and lene looked after us explaining what nibbles went with what wine and how it helps to bring out the flavours. Had an option of meat or vegan, we went for the meat option which had one glass of white wine (pinot Grigio) and two red (barbera and chianti). I’m not normally a fan of pinot, but it was really good with the food however my favorite was the barbera (never heard of it before) guess it’s a bit like a Rioja, as in a heavier red. in-fact it was so nice we ordered another glass after the experience was done. the main menu looked really good too, so we will definetly be back in future for a meal.

We visited tonight having booked online in advance and wish we hadn’t bothered. Upon driving we were made to wait 10/15 minutes before being seated which was fair enough as we could see it was a busy evening, however upon being seated we were put away in a corner and completely forgotten about. We weren’t given a menu for 15 minutes nor the curtsey of an apology for our wait, we then had to again wait a further 10 minutes before we decided to leave the venue without having even placed an order after being there for 45 minutes. Really poor and could have completely ruined our evening, thankfully Middletons steakhouse across the road took us in and gave us a real customer service experience aswell as a great evening, we will be returning there but not to veeno.

We have visited a couple of times now, first time for the Grande Board and wine and then the Italian Tea for two and both experiences were fantastic. Lene is an absolute star, very welcoming and passionate about her role at Veeno. We will be back again.

After a lovely experience a couple of years ago, my friend and I decided to go back to Veeno for another meal. We ordered the sharing platter, it arrived promptly, but with no cutlery or plates. It took ages to get someone's attention to sort it out. We'd also ordered wine, which hadn't arrived. When we asked about it, the waiter disappeared and came back with samples for us to the as the wine we'd ordered had ran out! So a big let down on this occasion as the service was rubbish!

Great selection of wines in a relaxed atmosphere. Really friendly staff happy to take pictures of the group and serve us even though we came in quite late one evening.

Plesently surprised to find such a nice restaurant in this unassuming building in st martins. We were a party of 10 on a fairly busy Saturday. Waitress warned us that dishes may not be served together because they were busy, and sometimes difficult to attract attention to get any service, but generally ok. Food was mostly good, (I think Italian nachos is another way of saying nachos) and the overall atmosphere is excellent. A number of dishes/ drinks were off the menu because they had a busy day. I would visit again in a smaller group / off peak.

Food was amazing, but Lene’s service was exceptional she was fantastic! 100% recommend

Special shout out to our waitress Lene and Antonio! Lene was really professional and friendly and made our evening even more delightful! Antonio was spinning a lot of plates and had all cyclinders on fire as chef who I understand was having a very busy night alone! The food was very delicious too - I had my favourite Penne Al’Arrabiata, partner had the Penne asparagi e zucchine, and friend had the funghi pizza. All of these were of high quality and flavoursome! Can’t wait to return!

Myself and 2 friends thought we’d try Veeno because it was highly recommended to us . But on visiting , we were disappointed. We all had Tagliatelle which was a good size portion, but wasn’t anything special . In fact I found mine a bit tasteless . I’ve had much better elsewhere . The garlic bread was nice , the nachos nothing special either . The 3 glasses of wine and Prosecco offer of £15 was the best thing about the evening . When it came to paying the bill , after noticing the menu said they would add a discretionary service charge of 10% , the bill came and it said they had added 12 1/2 % , I complained about this and the waitress went to speak to her manager , but came back still charging us this amount . I think this was bang out of order and won’t be going back there again . Tips or service charge should be made by the customer and not the restaurant . So be warned if you go there !

We went as a group of 9 people and were more or less the only people there. The menu was quite limited. We waited a long time for any food to arrive and there were complications with drinks as they had very little available including running out of coke! Staff forgot to take all of the drinks orders as well. The menu hadn’t been updated so we ordered at least one thing that wasn’t available but weren’t told until 5 minutes later!When the food arrived some of it didn’t appear to be cooked properly and one member of our party didn’t get her food until about 20 minutes after everyone else. The food was overpriced for what it was (although mostly good quality when it eventually came). Drinks were extortionate (£4 for a small glass of lemonade). When the bill came a significant service charge had been added which was not representative of the level of service we had received but turned into a debate with staff when we didn’t want to pay it. It has the potential to be incredible and the young lady who seemed to be in charge was very polite but it falls far from the standard at this time.

We were a party of four people, the food was nice and we all enjoyed our meals. We were seated, but our orders were not taken after 15-20 minutes until we got up and asked someone. There was a 12.5% service charge automatically added to our bill, I must assume from this that the staff are not paid a wage they can live off.

We visited on recommendation however we were disappointed with our experience at VEENO. Leicester.We arrived to nobody being available to check in with downstairs, a completely empty room and were eventually spotted by a chef who told us to go upstairs.Didn’t ask for our names and told we could sit anywhere however asked to move a while later for a large party coming later who didn’t appear whilst we were there.We had booked with a special offer of a free apéritif with a wine purchase but told it wasn’t available and asked us for proof of the offer which I managed to find on my phone surely this should have been on their booking system but as stated they never even asked for our name.Despite only being one other couple there at the start took over 20 minutes to take our order.When the order was taken came back a while later to say one of the meals was unavailable.Meal was distinctly average.Wine however was excellent.We still had half a bottle of wine left when a waitress asked if she could take it away.They automatically add a 12.5% service charge to the bill which is stated as optional ,we obviously asked for this to be removed and gave constructive feedback when we were asked why ? I will always tip for good service but don’t want this added to my bill beforehand.The staff were pleasant but just a poor experience for us unfortunately.I did send a formal feedback to the customer service address but felt I received a non personalised response and also they mixed up the response sent to me with another customer’s issue.Its a real shame and maybe just a one off blip but disappointing for us on a pre theatre trip.

Super cute place in Leicester. Lovely staff and amazing wine. A really cosy place to go during winter. Pasta was authentic and atmosphere is great on Saturday.

My partner and I have been regulars every 2 weeks since February this year and we must say the food is absolutely fantastic. The service has always been top notch, and we always highly recommend anyone to try the Grande Board alongside a bottle on their Inzolia white wine. The only thing that has let us down on this 1 occasion is the fact we pre booked the booth for a birthday dinner, double checked with staff that the booth would be booked, and sadly on arrival, it was given to somebody else. While we understand people may complain if they don’t get the booth, but when you pre book the booth 4 weeks in advance, then double check a week before while eating in that same booth…it was somewhat a slap in the face to arrive and not have the thing you pre booked, especially for an occasion. However, I must say we can’t grumble about the food or service, that in itself is always top-notch and has never disappointed. The 1 missing star in this review is purely based on the letdown from a booking we made in advance and double checked before arrival.

Our first visit as we had a Virgin voucher for an Italian afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. Well, it was much better than I expected , food was great. Every bottle of wine on the menu was Sicilian, always a favourite with us . Even the cheese was Sicilian! Really nice first floor restaurant which we never realised existed as it looks just a small ground floor and outside street sitting area from walking passed. Mukesh , I think his name is, our waiter was excellent , very friendly / chatty and clearly loves his job ! We will be return !

One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had and Mukesh was a great server. Can’t wait to come back when back in the area. I had garlic bread with cheese starter which was presented beautifully and spaghetti bolognaise main and the chocolate pudding was melt in the mouth.

Went to a wedding reception here on Saturday. Everything was excellent, delicious food, friendly staff and the best expresso martini I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Our 1st time at this brilliant Italian restaurant.... but it certainly will not be our last. We really enjoyed our Italian Afternoon Tea. Great food, in great surroundings (a little piece of Italy with Italian staff)) We were served by the lovely, and very knowledgeable Lene, who made a very pleasant visit, even more enjoyable, due to her superb personality. We so enjoyed this Italian twist on Afternoon Tea. We can wait to visit again... very soon!

We went there to celebrate our weeding anniversary. We tried the wine tasting experience and it was amazing. Lene was so friendly and she made the experience so pleasant. We would go there again.

Joseph was a great host. The family vibe from across the various staff members were met was evident and you could tell that they cared about the reputation of their restaurant. We went on a Virgin experience day to try 6 wines with a large platter for two. Given space to enjoy the food and wine without constant, annoying, nagging like some places do. The selection of wines were nice, the desert wine was actually outstanding which I was surprised about not being a huge fan normally. The food was delightful and the cheeses were cracking - Wallace and Gromit pun intended. The only issue we initially experienced was on arrival we were told there was no space upstairs (we arrived an hour early) and would have to sit down in the slightly sterile environment of the "shop floor" which compared to the atmosphere upstairs would've resulted in a very different experience. When we were moved upstairs there were loads of empty tables, and we spotted two tables throughout our stay (just over 2 hours) that remained unused, so given we were due an hour later there never should've been an issue. Only mentioning this as, if you are fobbed off with this excuse after reading this, stand your ground and ask to see upstairs. The atmosphere they have created up there is wonderful, and as I said above, without sitting up there the experience would've undoubtedly been more subdued. Thanks again to Joseph, his new aid who was learning on the job that day, and the young lady who occasionally checked in on us. Thoroughly recommend a lazy afternoon spent here enjoying their food and wine.

Went with a friend for a meal after the theatre. Booked on the website the day before and was just able to squeeze in. Lovely spot in a bustling area of the city. We were warmly welcomed and taken upstairs. Our server, Lene, was lovely....

We came on Friday evening. It was busy but staff were very attentive and apologetic for the slight delay with our food order. Welcome a pre booked party of 13 people,booked over 3 months in advance. We had to pre order mains, not an issue. We arrived promptly and the venue wasn't too busy especially for a Friday night. We waited over an hour for two sharing starter boards to be presented which had nowhere near enough bread or carbs for onslaught of meat that wasn't great. We then waited another hour for the mains. These were all cold other than some lasagne. The service was lacking and unattentive although staff friendly and polite.

As you can see by my other reviews on here I rarely have bad experiences at restaurants, but today I had a really disappointing experience here. I came with my mum and ordered 2 of the summer salads with chicken and 2 soft drinks. We were advised there was not avacado but they were happy to replace with parmesan shavings, which was fine by us. Two tables that came after us had their drinks served before us. It also took half an hour for the salads to come out. To put into perspective, I went to a pub later on this evening (which yes I will be writing a positive review for), and had a seafood mix grill which came out in 15 minutes. The salads were pretty disappointing. A sad and small pile of what looked like rocket at the bottom of the bowl (the menu says mixed leaves), a single slice of smoked cheese instead of the parmesan shavings we thought it would be. The signature dressing was just garlic infused olive oil, which there was quite a lot of as it left a bad taste in my mouth for a couple of hours. I admit we did eat it as we had a reservation at the Van Gogh experience and had no time to get something else. We also did say to the waiter we had this reservation. The customers around us seemed to have really nice food brought out so I can see why there are good reviews, but you shouldn't have to order a big meal or a wine tasting experience to have a good experience. I get it is just salad and soft drinks, but I've had a better one at weatherspoons, which is saying something. The only reason why I'm giving it a two star and not one is because the waiter did comp us, which we didn't ask him to do.

I am giving this 2 stars because after my complaint I was only charged for drinks. One. Wanted iced tea but heard a waiter saying there was none. Two. Five minutes after we arrived another table of 4 sat down. In spite of us sitting...

Having been here and had a great experience a number of times, we were very let down this time. We were given a table outside and 20 mins after we arrived were able to order a blind wine flight. 10 mins after this, we were told that it wasn't available so changed to a different wine flight. 20 mins after this, we still hadn't been served anything so had to give up at that point. Disappointing, given the service we have had there before.

You can tell the finest quality meats as well as other ingredients are used in their dishes. The Parma and burrata pizza is 10/10👌🏼😍. Our lovely waitress Dene recommended the pistachio creme tiramisu on our recent visit and oh my goodness…obsessed🤤!! All of the staff are so lovely and there is always such a chilled vibe! Make sure to try and get seated upstairs🙌🏼.

My wife and I did the Fine Italian Wine Tasting and had an amazing time. Each wine was explained, and we were given food pairing suggestions. Our server was Lene and she made us feel especially welcome and was clearly passionate about the wines. The charcuterie board was lovely, and plenty. Lots of meats and cheeses. And the dessert was amazing - a white chocolate and pistachio tiramisu. I would go back just for that. Overall, a 5 star experience and great value for money.
