The best restaurants serving Indian food in Wales

We are a group of 20 mountain bikers visiting South Wales and after seeing reviews decided to book a group meal at the Taj Restaurant on the Saturday night some weeks before our visit.. Well what can I say . The booking was easy with a confirmation a week before. When we arrived we were shown to our tables by friendly staff. All 20 of us had 2 courses & sundries. All arrived after not too long of a wait. All the food was hot and very tasty. The staff were really helpful and made our night special. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is a curry lover who likes an attentive friendly service..

Was given a tip off to try here, recently changed name but same staff so was a little dubious, wow what a suprise, the food was amazing, the taste was so fresh and so tasty the service was great the price was good.

Ordered food here tonight 16/8/24 after taking time deciding which take away to use. Food didn’t turn up and when I rang several times it was clear that no one was going to answer as it’s close to closing. Many thanks for ruining our Friday night and congrats on losing a local customer.

I had to throw £35 worth of food in the bin because my order had been on the road for over 2 hours. When I phoned to complain, I was promised 10% off my next order. Never again!

Collection order was very disappointing from here.tikka masala sauce very watery and chicken tasted funny, onion bhajis cold and balti didn't taste like a balti ended up chucking most of it in the bin

This was for the takeaway option . The restaurant was empty. On retuning home and looking at curries once opened the boxes were opened they were swimming in an oil slick and had to be well drained. And the portion sizes for the monies were very small containers and on stirring it’s contents each dish , we were able to count 4 small slices of chicken about the size of a small apple about 2/3cms thick. I phoned the curry house to complain about the size and amount of chicken for an order of 4 mains to the tune of £70 picked up ! Very poor value. All the man could say and was getting more agro , no apologies or any thing else . That they had been their 40 years ! And they had not heard that before ! Really poor service and for a take aways . you better hope no one else opens up in Usk or you will not be in business much longer ! I certainly won’t be back no apologies or reparation offered.

The worst food that I have tasted in Swansea. I have ordered chicken biryani and tandoori chicken, tandoori was like rock I don’t know how many days it was in the freezer he just kept it in the microwave and gave it to me. Feels like vomiting. And the entrance carpet is like a mouse trap. It’s full of grease and I literally feels like I’m walking on the gum pad. Disgusting man, never ever even try to order from this restaurant 🙏🏻. Genuine review please don’t waste your money.

Best food all round tasty good portions can't fault it

Charged my friend for a main dish when he CLEARLY asked for a starter. When we brought up the situation they said it our fault when it wasn't and they started raising their voices and in the end swearing at us. They didn't even give us our money back. They were plain disrespectful.

It’s one of those places that you hate to give a poor review to as they were very sweet but totally incompetent. Please don’t turn over a dirty paper table cloth, bin it and give us a new one. The restaurant was dirty and the food can be described as vile at best. It seems to be crying out for a visit from Gordon Ramsey. On leaving they when I wanted to pay with a card they asked if I had any cash at all. On the plus side I felt that I was in somewhere between the league of gentlemen and Mrs overall in Victoria wood.

Highly recommend this place great food great service and a generally good experience. Will definitely be coming back

Ordered 7.10pm Saturday 26th October for delivery at 8.15pm..cost £21.14p...they took my money out of my account but NO FOOD DELIVERED..have emailed them as no answer on phone but still waiting for reply and more important a refund...if don't hear today will be calling in to the shop...and they won't like what they hear..ordered a couple wks ago and that was 2 hrs late nd cold..should av learnt my lesson but gave them another chance...then this...absolutely disgusting service
