Dhal is the friendliest and loveliest man and caters for everyone. I have been 6 times now and the curry is spot on every single time. Very affordable too!

Saturday evening, after watching a band, friend an I fancied food. Most places were closing, this seemed to be only open a bit later. Food was delicious, owner very attentive. 2 main meals, 2 drinks, naam’s and chutney tray £29. The owner was delighted, an extremely proud dad who spoke wonderfully about his children and daughters who had recently got married. Highly recommend.

Saturday evening looking for food after watching a band, don’t often venture out these days and didn’t realise how early places close. This place was thankfully open, food was amazing, had sagg, it was lovely. The owner went above and beyond with service, was so proud of his beautiful family, shared daughter’s wedding photos and told us all about his children. Will definitely return.

After a long drive, we thought of treating ourselves to some Indian cuisine, so I picked Maharani without realising the mistake I was making. Scanning the extensive menu, We ordered six dishes, including Plain Paratha, Kebab Platter, Masala Poppadom, Tandoori King Prawn, Tandoori Chicken Masala, and Special Fried Rice. Let’s start with the Plain Paratha – it was so tough, it felt like I was playing tug-of-war just trying to eat it. The Paratha felt like it came straight out of a the goat life movie set. The Kebab Platter seemed really old, and Im afraid it might make me sick and need visit NHS. I received two small Tandoori king prawns for £5.45, drenched in masala and seemingly ready to cook. The Tandoori Chicken Masala was too sweet, almost like dessert. Diabetic people, please stay away from it. Some things are better left unspoken, and this special fried rice is a prime example The only thing worth mentioning was the Masala Poppadom, mainly because it required little(NO)cooking effort, deserved one star 💫. To the chef: Kindly considers a different career path, one that doesn't involve cooking, also keep your hidden talents, well, hidden. In all my travels to many countries, I have never encountered such disappointing Indian cuisine. This review marks my first-ever critique of a restaurant, and while I regret the money spent, I'm willing to waste time in writing this review to prevent others from wasting their money.

Very welcoming and polite. Lovely food and reasonably priced. We walked down Sandfields way around 12am hoping somewhere would be open and were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. 😊

Came in for a last minute curry night with friends. The server was very friendly and helpful, made sure both vegan and gluten free dietary requirements were catered for. The food was amazing and the price was great. Would definitely recommend!

Great value for money, tasty food, attentive service, although decor rather tired. Prawns in the King Prawn Jalfrazi were the best I’ve had in an Indian Restaurant for a long time. Chicken Tikka Massala was freshly cooked and chicken was moist. Even the Indian Beers were reasonably priced!

First visit and sorry to say last visit. I think I have not written a restaurant review for a very very long time, but this restaurant was so bad I had too. It was late arrived after 9pm the restaurant and was greeted by a gentleman who was very welcoming, this was the only good thing I can honestly say about the restaurant it all went down hill from the cut long story short brief description of was bad below. 1. My Coke was flat 2. Condiments with the poppadoms, red one still frozen ever see that before. Mint Yoghurt had a sour taste. 3. Mixed grill starter chicken was cold in the middle, lamb Tikka didn’t taste like lamb and just warm the sheik kebab was just a weird taste. 4. Main dishes, the wife’s lamb korma was covered in very hot in temperature (not spicy) sauce but the lamb (again if it was lamb) was just warm and chewy. 5. The same with my mixed curry the chicken, lamb (again ? If lamb) was just warm to eat but the sauce was piping hot. 6. The daal side dish was so bad I couldn’t eat it. 7. The egg fried rice was just warm and just tasted like turmeric. 8. The peshwari naan and the plain naan was okay. Being a Indian and been brought up on Indian cuisine it was very poor. So it’s up you. Just last not the restaurant had no heating and musky, damp, mouldy smell.

Food all tasted the same very bland, main course put on table before our starter plates were cleared, had to ask for cutlery, the place was dirty, menus sticky, floor not clean and the trolley the food was brought on was absolutely filthy. Don't even want to mention the state of the gents toilet, stinks of stale urine 🤬 Not a good experience sadly 😕 first and last time! Now I know why it was empty and next door was full 🤔

They neglected to give us all the food we PAID for and when we asked politely for our food we were hung up on and told they wouldn't give the food we paid for. This is THEFT and is ILLEGAL. Would give 0 stars if possible. DO NOT order from here it is not worth it.

This restaurant has really gone downhill over the years. The hygiene is lacking, which is a shame because the host was very hospitable. Once seated, we were handed menus which were dirty and sticky. Ordered the drinks, they came in glasses which were marked and sticky down the side. The drink was room temperature flat pop. The food that came didn’t taste bad, but it certainly wasn’t “good”. Very small portion of rice which the curry drowned if you were to pour it all on your plate. Bread was burnt and tasteless. Went to the men’s bathroom by mistake, my god it was stinking. Stunk of urine and it was dirty! I was disgusted by the soap on the sink, how they thought it was ok to leave this filthy black god knows how old bar of soap there for customers. Whole place needs a good bleaching!😬 They’re meant to be rated 4 by the food standards agency but it needs updating!

Oh my God 😍😍😍 absolutely stunning and over delicious !! I had a non spicy chicken biryani along with dhall !! And it is soo tasty, in fact am ordering it today again. It is one of my top Indian restaurants in swansea 😍😍 Our order wasn't expensive at all and we had 4 meals along with starters ❤️❤️ Highly recommended ❤️

We certainly weren’t disappointed. Owner was really friendly and service was fine. Just a pity it wasn’t busier. The bill was spot on to the penny so very happy! (Am I the only person who is getting fed up with restaurants increasing their prices without changing the menu? Seems to have happened every time I’ve been out lately!) Really happy with our visit, will definitely come here again next time we are in Swansea.

Another lovely meal here tonight! We discovered this gem on our last visit to Swansea. Wonderfully prepared authentic freshly prepared food and fantastic hospitality. Very happy with the modest prices too! We look forward to coming back.

The food was gorgeous and the server was full of joy and made the dining experience one to remember was honestly the best curry I’ve had in a long time and was very reasonable too! Awful. Food wasn’t nice but still expensive and the worst part is that the chicken was raw. I had already eaten some before I realised and now I’m doomed to a week of food poisoning and all the joys that come with it. These lot cannot cook meat properly. Avoid avoid avoid. I should have stuck with Panshee.

Called in on a Sunday evening, we were only people in there but they were doing takeaways. Food was great, steaming hot, plenty of tender meat chunks and tasty sauce, not greasy. We had chicken tikka masala, lamb buna, chicken passanda and 3 sides. Nans were great too. After eight mints with the bill, not too badly priced either. Food alone would be 5/5 what drops the score down is the dated decor, sticky dirty carpet and gent’s toilet, didn’t fancy trying the ladies.

One waiter present eager to have positive feed back, Friendly enough but couldn't distract from the disgusting odour and grubby, dirty environment. Would hate to see the kitchens if the public area is an example of cleanliness. Couldn't touch the meal or even drink out of the grease stained glasses

This was the worst I've had from you guys! I normally order on uber eats, the chicken in my korma was burnt my karma sauce was runny s if you had chucked water into it! My nan breads where stale! The chips where off colour aswell onion bajis cut my whole gum when I bit into it!! What a waste of money!

Order some food from this place and when it came it was everywhere, they didn’t close the lids properly and everything was a mess. Then we had one dish missing call the restaurant and just got a super RUDE man who hang the phone to us when we were trying to explain what happened. Just don’t bother going here.

Food was piping hot and so delicious plus plenty of it. The vegetable curry was amazing and had a wonderful selection of veggies, the biryani was the nicest of he ever had with loads of meat and not at all dry. The masala was very tasty and again had plenty of meat.

The chicken tikka madras is probably one of the nicest I have ever had. Ask for a it spicy and you will not be disappointed. I can’t get enough of it!

Terrible place. Old and dingy and food quality is as if it was reheated from days ago. Not only that, the food also gave me a stomach ache the following day! Can’t believe I paid £10 for a restaurant that could probably get an episode on Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen nightmare series.

Just ordered off this place thinking it was a good place, great prices and I thought it was good being off Uber. I was soooo wrong ordered £30 worth of food to feed 4 of us, waited on the delivery for a while when he did drop it off I didn't think anything of it so when I opened the bag we had food missing thought it was just me at first but I wasn't missing 2 meals to go around us. So rang them thinking they would sort it and apologise, no sorry, no refund, no food delivered. Just a rude, spiteful horrible man kept putting the phone down on me and I couldn't understand word he was saying it was like he was shouting at me. And apparently it's not his problem and put the phone down again. Is this the way a business should act? Unprofessional? Rude? And taking my money and not a care in the world especially with what is going on with the world right now. I will never go there again, I won't recomend it when people ask or if I do I will tell them what a horrible person I had answering the home to me. Ruined my night thanks mate!!

We rarely visit Swansea these days, but went there for a show last Saturday. The Maharani was a favourite of my husband’s a few years ago, so we decided to try it again, on our way home. We were not disappointed, as it hadn’t changed. The furniture is comfortable, the ambience pleasant, the service excellent. It was late, so quiet. The owner remembered my husband well, and even remembered that I had visited once with our accompanying friend. I had chicken Makhani, a favourite of mine, with keema rice, and it was fantastic. My husband had his favourite lamb dish, which he enjoyed very much. Our friend couldn’t decide what to have, so discussed her preferences as to spiciness (definitely not hot, but not too mild either) with the owner, who recommended a chicken dish and said he would tell the chef to use a little less spice than usual, which should make it perfect for her. It was just right, and tasted amazing. I said I was going to pinch a dip of her sauce, and he heard me and brought me an extra spoon to do so! The flavour was delicious and seemed quite mild on first tasting, but developed some heat afterwards, though not too much, as promised. (I just wish I had registered the name of the dish). She had mushroom rice, on his recommendation, and said that was excellent too. This is a lady who lived in India for some years in her youth, though he didn’t know that. We all cleared our plates! Husband and friend had Cobra beer and I had tonic water, but the bar has a good choice. Prices very reasonable indeed. To sum up, food excellent, service faultless, and my only criticism is that the carpet could do with a clean! Don’t let that put you off, as it’s the food that really matters, after all, and it was great.

Quite possibly the best Indian takeaway I've ever had l. Food was outstanding and arrived bang on time. We had a lamb saag and a badam pashanda and both of us were completely happy. Would highly recommend and will definitely be ordering again.

The curry was oily and had a funny taste to it ,which made it uneatable . The naan bread was not cooked and I had to grill it to finish it off. The rice was edible. All in all. One to avoid
